Yes!! . . . Posted @withrepost • @whatsidwrites Reading remains, even after 564 years since the first published book, an underrated habit. If you are a writer, reading becomes all the more crucial to your very existence. Books aren't just a world that we can lose ourselves into. They are the crux of a person's entire lifetime of experiences. To write 'Oliver Twist', Dickens had to have studied the underbelly of Victorian era London. He would have seen how orphanages function under that facade of charity. More than that, he would have had to wrack his brains to form the structure of the story and the characters. Every good book is the result of decades of toil. And it has been handed to you for free (at least the classics). So, pick one up and study them as of your life depended on it. . . . . . . . . . #writingtip #writingtips #writingtips✏️ #writingtipsandtricks #writingtipoftheday #writingtiptuesday #writingtips101 #writingtipsfeatures #writingtipoftheweek #writingtipsforbeginners #writingtipsandprompts #writingtips✏️writingtips #writingtipsfromwriters #writingtipsandresources #writingtipstodiefor #writingtipsbyanonymous #writingtipsfrommasterwriters #writingtipsandtechniques #writingtipsoftheday #writingtipsweekend #writingcommunity #writinginspiration #writersofig #writersofinstagram #writingprompts #writingadvice #author #writerscommunity #writinghelp https://www.instagram.com/p/B1pyWVogUta/?igshid=uksje96mh2oo

💜 For the ask game, I would be interested to know your answers to:
5. What fic of your own won’t you read?
15. How do you think your writing as improved over time?
Aah thank you for asking something love x
5: I won’t ever go back to my Lord of the rings phase … those fics where heterosexual like what was I thinking … Also my writing style back then was so pretentious lmao, I tried to mix humour with the very unique tone of the books, so you can imagine how inflated that shit sounded …
15: I have gotten way more comfortable with finding the balance between exposition and dialogue. I used to struggle with that so much. I also realised that some things, like the way i like to start a chapter with describing the scene before i jump into dialogue or action is more of just my personal style and doesn’t need to forcibly be changed up. I don’t need to follow every writing rule that has been put out there, I can freestyle and make my own decisions even if tumblr user writingtips101 doesn’t approve. That’s also probably the best advice i have for anyone who wants to write …

It’s come to our attention that not many know what an editorial letter is, so we thought we’d give y’all some insight to what they are because editorial letters are something all editors—whether self or traditionally publish—send to authors. Though, it can depend on the service a writer has requested. So let’s delve in! ✨Scroll for more details!✨ Earley Editing, LLC's editorial letters range from 10-30 pages. The editorial letter is an evaluation of a manuscript that highlights questions and concerns that an editor had in relation to the content of a manuscript. It touches on pacing, characterization, writing techniques that need to be applied (show, don’t tell and using active voice instead of passive voice), plot holes, whether a reader would be able to follow/understand things on the page. An editorial letter focuses on the content of a manuscript and allows an editor to provide professional feedback that will help a manuscript overall. • • #writingcommunity #writings #writerwarnings #writingtips✏️ #writingtips101 #writingtipsandtricks #writingtips #writersofinstagram #writersnetwork #writersofig #writerslife #writers #writer #bookediting #noveledit #bookedits #bookeditors #bookeditor #bookeditingservices #bookedit #writingadvice #writinglife #amwriting #amediting #author #authors #authorsofig #authorlife #authorcommunity #authorsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CgmGvOPMHhH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Here are a list of ways you can ENJOY BEING A WRITER! ✨👩‍💻 🌿 Write what you want. 🌿 Enjoy what you’re working on. You’ll finish your draft before you know it. 🌿 Celebrate your wins, no matter how small. 🌿 Define what success means to YOU. This looks different for everyone, so you need to learn to define it for yourself! 🌿 Marvel over your own creativity. 🌿 Accept that first drafts suck. The revision and editing process is for correcting your draft’s suckiness! 🌿 TRY! No matter what is is, try. Because you’ll never know unless you try. 🌿 Give yourself time instead of forcing words on the page. Listen to your creative mind. 🌿 Finish your draft before you edit/revise. You’ll go bananas if you go back and forth between writing and making corrections. 🌿 Maintain a healthy balance of what works for you. • • #writerscommunity #bookeditor #freelanceeditor #bookeditorslife #bookeditors #amediting #bookediting #bookedit #proofreader #bookeditingservices #proofreading #proofreadingservice #developmentaleditor #developmentalediting #lineedit #lineeditor #lineediting #contenteditor #contentediting #copyediting #copyeditor #copyeditorsofinstagram #copyeditorlife #writingtips✏️ #writingtips101 #writingtipsandtricks #writingtip #authorcommunity #writerwarnings #writersblock https://www.instagram.com/p/ChKJ3TOvTf5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
