Both kinda bond over the fact that they’re annoyed at the amount of Californians moving into their states

They both cook some of the best Hispanic food and take turns cooking each night

New Mex loves to go on walks at night, even though it’s kinda dangerous to do so (especially in his state, with the high crime rates). Ari knows this.

^And so he goes full mother hen mode when New Mex gets home, checking him over for injuries and stuff like that

^New Mex would and does act annoyed, but he actually finds it very endearing to have someone care about him so much

And in turn, New Mex also has his own "overprotective mother hen" moments

Ari loves to get high with Colorado, despite how much New Mex despises it (since he knows how risky smoking weed and all that is. And yet we say nothing about the pack of cigarettes New Mex has in his back pocket at all times- )

^and so New Mex will come and snatch a very-much-high Arizona and take care of him before and after he sobers up. Nobody is allowed near Ari during that time unless they want to be shanked <3

I had an idea about Arizona:

I was thinking and maladaptative daydreaming about him and I thought:

“What if Arizona was created as it was Hunter from The Owl House?”

In my defense, Arizona was made due the division of the territory of New Mexico in 1863 but this was the union side and the confederate side was in 1861 until 1863.

And to answer my question:

I have a theory of New Mexico being kidnapped by some confederate state (*cough* Texas *cough*) and he tried to gaslight him and turn him into the confederate side but then the state had an anger outburst and hurt New Mex in the process, leaving him bleeding a little in the basement. In that moment, some blood touched part of the dirt in the floor of the basement and it started to bubble up for some days.

Then in a weekend like any other, that mix develop into an antropomorphic form, turning into a human with the same appearance as New Mexico:

Then... Arizona was born in 1862

First word of New Mexico when he saw Ari:

"...Miércoles..." with a scared tone.

Then with the finally returning of New Mexico from the kidnapping in 1863, Arizona was transformed into the human representation of the new territory of Arizona of the union

New Mex is literally ALWAYS ticked off about something, but it all fades away instantly the moment that Coco enters the room <3

Coco just likes the snatch New Mex out of nowhere and NM just deals with it (NM is like- 5’5 and Coco is 5’8 lmao)

Coco likes to call New Mex his "Little Chihuahua" and NM just deals with it since it’s not even necessarily incorrect

A lot of their relationship is Coco getting away with stuff that New Mex would usually stab someone for.

New Mex is good at cooking and loves cooking + Coco getting the munchies since he likes to get high and not in the way of climbing tall mountains = ✨perfection✨

They both actually have a chihuahua and they named it Tito after the chihuahua from Oliver and Company.
