He pulls a marker from his pocket and uncaps it with his teeth so he can scribble in a few more squares. Putting it away, he flips the paper around so she can see: he had colored in tough, inventive, clever, and 'could kill a man'.

So I’ve been thinking, one thing that never made sense to me was why Tobias made Grayson believe that he would be the heir, especially after reading tbh and seeing Tobias say the words “it is going to be you”.

[SPOILERS FOR THE BROTHERS HAWTHORNE]

That never made sense to me bc he said that it would BE Grayson, but he also never said the words “inheritance”, so clearly he meant something else.

I also find it intresting that earlier in that chapter (ch. Eight years ago, after ch. 49) that Grayson said “bc. I’m a Hawthorne” and Tobias said “no”….he told gray he wasn’t a Hawthorne…..he also said that “Xander is a Hawthorne,” the old man said intently. “Nash is a Hawthorne. Jameson is a Hawthorne. But you…”

So tobias didn’t think grayson was a Hawthorne then what is he?

At first I thought maybe he meant Grayson was a GRAYSON, like Sheffield, BUT tobias probably doesn’t have much respect for Sheffield and would see him as lesser so why would he believe Grayson was a “GRAYSON”…..

Then I realized what if he sees Gray as an O’day….like Alice…..and what if by “it is going to be you” Tobias meant that, it will be Grayson who finds Alice and convinces her to return or helps her heal and return to her family or something like that.

I think grayson inherited more of the O’day genes than any of his siblings. The rest of them all sort of look like their dads, but I’ve tried to find a description of Sheffield and I couldn’t find one but I don’t think it was ever mentioned that he was blonde just that he had Graysons eyes but that’s it.

Some might point at savanna to prove gray did inherit his looks from their dad BUT Grayson pointed out that sav got her hair from her mom as soon as he met her.

Gray most likely got his blonde hair from Skye AND Skye probably inherited it from Alice O’day….so Grayson is more of an O’day which would explain why Tobias pushed him to be more bc he saw his Alice in him and wanted him to live up too his potential bc he belived his Alice was better than he was and pushed gray to be that too…but idk I still have SOO many questions about that man. The more I learn about him the more questions I have about ALL of Tobias Hawthornes words and actions

A little long, but it has a few theories for pain at the right gun.

So tomorrow jlb will probably post the picture of "pain at the right gun," and the only thing we know is that it has a surprise narrator. This story is clearly related to Mr. Thomas, and it can be proved by the calla lilies of the cover, no other story has anything to do with those, so I am sure it is the one.

I was theorising about who might be the one that narrates it, and at first I thought (and wanted) that grayson or lyra could narrate it. If grayson narrated it, the story would have been about him looking for lyra, and if lyra had narrated it, it would have been about her backstory or her looking for gray's number, but after savannah said that the ending of G.U has a cliffhanger I realized that maybe neither of them would be the perfect characters for that.

So if we consider this story is about Thomas then we have other 4 characters that could narrate it; tobias, odette, alice and calla. Being completely honest, jlb described the book about hawthornes and love, so I think tobias is most likely to narrate it. My bet is that the story is about tobias being with odette, then alice appears and tells him to kill thomas. Then, the story from odette's pov would be similar; however, from alice's pov, the story could be about her story with thomas, or why she faked her death. Calla is another surprise factor, we don't know anything about her or whether or not she is related to this at all, but it is a weird coincidence that her name is calla and that lyra's father gave her a calla lily.

btw, what if tomorrow the picture has the description said by Tobias: There is nothing frivolous about the way a Hawthorne man loves.

I honestly can't wait to get more of Alice Hawthorne because.. I'm a sucker for female villains (although I'd rather suck Emily into a vacuum cleaner and fling it off the cliff) plus you can't tell me that she hadn't been a girl boss at some point of time. I am in no ways intending to justify anything she's done to innocent people, but yk villains aren't born they are made. And her backstory is for sure gonna be one hell of a story. Plus, it makes me wonder.... Nan said in the first book that she killed her own husband because he abused her. But rn l can't help wondering how much more there is to it and mostly how it would have affected Alice. You can't tell me that there isn't more to it, this is JENNIFER LYNN BARNES we are talking about...

More like a “Royalty AU“ but make it TSL and Fire Emblem. To be fair, this is Alice‘s Consort of the Nohrian King Attire, as well as her Crown so it‘s actually a little Fire Emblem x Obey Me thingy again. Since MC Alice is from the Kingdom of Nohr, I thought it would fit. Or I just wanted to make myself suffer by drawing Lucifer‘s TSL Outfit. Cover Analysis Games Untold

Let's starts off with the fact JLB said those stories will take place before TGG + will focus on the characters from the main trilogy.

I highlighted in Yellow the 4 stories that I think will actually have elements on the cover (because the two in Black have already been published and the two in Red sound quite light-hearted in tone).

1) Roses in the Backgroud - romantic themes

2) A Few Calla Lilies — The fluffier possibility is a story focused on Gray's casual search for Lyra after the phone calls have ended. But instead I think That Night In Prague will finally explain the implications of the flower - and why Lyra's father gave her one.

3) The Sword — This could go multiple ways. Grayson theme OR a symbolic element for fighting/tension OR a sword showing up without having massive plot relevance: kinda like how the TGG cover has a sword and (very minor spoiler) although swords do show up a lot in the Game show we still don't know their intended purpose.

4) Glittering Cowboy Boot — Obviously Nash (and apparently their story will be narrated from Libby's POV let's gooo).

5) The Ring — This could be from Libby's story as well. We only ever get to see the ring that Nash gives to Grayson (described as black opal). Never the one HE got for her.

6) Fire (roses burning no less) — Likely Hannah&Toby. Their love story started and ended BECAUSE of a fire.

7) Key — No comment, it's appropriate for any cover in the saga.

8) Compass — You'll find quite a few in the books. BUT maybe the most relevant compass is the inheritance Tobias leaves to Skye: the one that starts off his daughters game. Wouldn't be a leap to assume THIS new compass will have something to do with Hawthrone family secrets and tragedies.

9) Pearl necklace - definitely for Alice!

Pearls sometimes get mentioned in relation to Zara (she wears them often + we get mentions of killing-with-pearls) and sometimes Nan - who inherited the entire jewelry vault (and who's name is Pearl O'Day btw).

The most important pearl is in Brothers Hawthrone: Jameson has a pearl filled with poison that he got from his mysterious night in Prague. All those pearls keep coming back to something Alice-related.

10) The Open Book - No clue. It can mean anything.

11) Coin - left my favorite hint for last because it's just so random. It's an Aladdin's Castle token! Yes I had to image-search it. Apparently you would get them for playing arcade games in the 70s and 80s. But since the last american Aladdin's Castle closed down in 1989 - whatever coins remained in circulation are now just collectables. They seem somewhat* rare but not very valuable.

What could this mean? Something to do with the childhood of either Zara/Skye/Toby? Or will it be something related to the grandsons? I can picture Xander coming up with a Hawthrone version for retro games.

I'm going feral over the TGG ending. I CANT wait until November for new content 😩

Can I just honestly rant about some things? Girl I really cannot get toby and Hannah's story outta my head. And like, the weirdest thing is, how is Avery still coping with this? I need the amount of mental strength she has. Toby and Hannah's story is going to be epic I just know it. I cannot wait to read games untold but at the same time I'm not ready for it. Toby was literally responsible for Kaylie's death, so I have no idea how the hell Hannah fell in love with him. Seems like Jackson was right when he said she was the damnest Rooney. So, Hannah hated him at first then started to like him? Truly strangers to enemies to lovers with hurt/comfort. Jennifer, I hope you're not going to destroy our mental health with whatever devastating story you're writing about them, I do not think I can handle the scene where toby leaves Hannah. JUST WHY COULDN'T THEY BE TOGETHER?!! Toby was such a coward for this, but hey, can't blame him. I hope we have both Hannah and toby's Pov. But toby's one sounds very interesting. What if the scene of Hannah birthing Avery is also there and it is from Hannah's Pov? Okay, goodbye. I cannot think straight anymore. It's already too much for me to bear.

I hope there is also snippet of Alice and Tobias's story, what made her runaway like this, is still a mystery and I hope it's going to be solved in Games Untold.

Games Untold Theory!

I'm just gonna get right into it. So, we are able to guess who the subjects are for most of the stories – except for Pain at the Right Gun.

I know that some of us are guessing that this one could be about Gray and Lyra (and I personally started to believe that too), but last night I had a sudden thought.

What if it isn't about Gray and Lyra but about Tobias and Alice?

One of the main reasons I don't think it's Gray and Lyra is because the events in Games Untold happen before the start of TGG and plus, JLB mentioned that the stories revolve around the characters from the original trilogy – AND the new Grandest Game characters do not appear.

Now, for my reasons as to why I think it's Tobias and Alice. I mentioned before that I believe Alice will be included in this book because of the pearl necklace on the cover. As for Tobias, I think he'll be included because of this:

The key. There's a key on the cover and the blade of the key (the part which you put in a lock) is shaped like a letter H. Tobias once said that the keys he made for the key challenge he created (the one where they had to find which key would open the door to Hawthorne House) told the story of his life. So this could be an indication that he's included.

But how could Tobias and Alice's relationship relate to the title of their short story, if it really was about them?

Pain at the Right Gun. There are several meanings for the word "gun". It could mean a weapon. Or it could also mean a bicep; muscular arms.

WARNING: This will start to sound like I'm stretching TOOOOO far but I'll try to make this make sense.

If we took "gun" to mean bicep, then it would mean Pain at the Right Bicep. Right bicep can kind of relate to right-hand, as in right-hand man. And I believe that Tobias and Alice had quite a close relationship since Tobias mentioned that Alice was the woman that he loved wholly (with that Hawthorne love).

Bicep pain is caused by muscle strain. So what if this is pointing to a strain in their relationship? As I said before, whatever Jameson heard in Prague (which was presumably Alice's words) was quite unnerving towards the Hawthorne family. It even seemed as though Alice didn't want to have anything to do with them. She didn't even come back to Hawthorne House during the old man's funeral – she didn't even have an intention of coming back to see her grandsons. And she warned Jameson to not talk about the fact that she was alive to anyone. What if there was a strain in Tobias and Alice's relationship and she ran away? Pain at the Right Gun. The pain could also be due to the fact that Alice kind of destroyed Tobias by running away. Tobias said "once you love the way a Hawthorne loves, there is no going back."

"If she is the one, someday, she will destroy you."

NEXT – Yes, I know there are calla lilies which point to Lyra on the cover. But remember – Nan mentioned that Tobias sent flowers to Lyra's dad's funeral... and who is to say that the flowers weren't calla lilies? Lyra's father gave her a calla lily before he sh0t himself de@d. He said "a Hawthorne did this". Somehow, I think the calla lilies mean more than a parting gift from Lyra's dad to Lyra.

And I just thought of something... WHAT IF... Alice is related to Lyra and her family in some way? What if she knew what Tobias did and it led to her running away?

I really hope that the reason Alice faked her death wasn't because of some fallout between her and Tobias

One of the things that made me so invested in the series to begin with was because how even though the old man clearly had his flaws, he genuinely cared.

So many examples of that are his bond with Xander and Rebecca, the letter he wrote to Zara and Skye for the game he set up for them, and even though he was harsh, he raised the boys to be better and more honorable men that he'll ever be.

And of course, we shouldn't forget the fact that Tobias was loyal to Alice throughout his entire life. That the reason he cut ties with Vincent Blake had to do with how his nephews(?) treated Alice, that he wanted to be a more honorable man than Blake could ever be — eventually eclipsing Blake's millions with billions.

Yes, Tobias Hawthorne is an incredibly flawed character and there are a lot of moments in the series where I genuinely can't understand why he played his cards the way he did.

But what makes him one of my favorite characters was because of how beautifully flawed he was. He had his faults, but he also did care.

Hence, why I really really hope JLB doesn't take the route of Alice and Tobias having some sort of a fallout leading to Alice having to fake her death.

The possibilities for that to actually happen are technically low, but then again this is JLB 😭 the woman's as unpredictable as her books. The only thing that's keeping me from freaking out over this possibility is that it's too obvious, and JLB likes her plot points complicated >-+0
