my friend organized a crimi dinner today and some of us were playing characters whose gender did not align with our own (my trans friend played a woman and we all agreed that he'd make for a good femboy but it still didn't fit him really) and because of that one of my friends paused in the middle of his sentence before referring to another person, looked at them with a puzzled expression before confidently calling them "xier" (which is a German neopronoun because there is no singular they in German)

I found that kind of funny but also heartwarming because you rarely see people use neopronouns off the internet and he used it so normally, as an easy alternative to "he/she" (which it is)

A headmate named Bellator stopped by a while ago. Xe remembered some exomemories of xeirs recently, which is pretty neat! Bellator likes rainforests. Rainforests are pretty neat. Human Owen and Human Durran pulled Giristlo's tentacle, tugging xem along so xey could go faster. Giristlo was not a fast creature, but Humans had a certain element of eternal impatience that drove them to be fast. Xey clicked xeir jaws in amusement, Giristlo rarely saw Human Durran this bright or Human Owen this- well, Human Owen was always bright. But there was a different aura to his energy now that Human Durran was excited as well.

The crew had landed on Earth for the first time in many, many cycles. Human Owen's date of birth had been celebrated earlier that "week" (earthing time measure) and this was their last night on planet.

Giristlo had been told little about where xier human crew mates were dragging xem, other than it was some earth insect xey needed to see.

Giristlo slid off the ramp from their shop onto the ground, and Human Durran ran to the transportation vehicle common to Earth and pulled Human Owen into the passenger seat. They frantically gestured for Giristlo to get on the backseat, which xey did after some light squeezing.

The ride was short, filled by excited voices and chatter from the humans, and they neared the end as Human Durran pulled off into a dimly lit road. Soon, Human Owen turned back to Giristlo and told xem to cover their many eyes for the surprise. Xey were soon pulled out of the vehicle, eyes still covered, and Human Durran called for Human Owen to turn off the "headlights".

"Okay, Cap." Human Durran's voice was even quieter than usual.

Giristlo barely had time to readjust xeir tentacles before xey were struck immobile by the sheer beauty of what xey saw.

Thousands of tiny spots of light lit the lush field around xem.

"what..." The normally quiet buzz of xeir translator was suddenly overbearing and vulgar. Xey hesitated, then switched it off.

Using the English they had been learning, xey whispered out-

"what is this?"

Human Durran smiled, plopping down onto the ground with Human Owen. His eyes reflected the light, as did Human Owen's.

Headcanons about Sonic characters that I haven’t talked about or haven’t talked about enough:

- Sonic is asexual gray-romantic/bi-or-panromantic flux. And also still questioning everything romantically.

- Elise is asexual heteroromantic, and has a specific “type” of boy (and that type is hedgehog who is slightly gender non-conforming.)

- Silver sometimes uses xi/xem/xier in addition to he/him/his.

- Sonic is autistic. Also an ADHDer.

- Tails is autistic.

- Elise is autistic.

- Knuckles is autistic.

- Shadow is allistic but has social problems…but it’s better explained by PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, BPD, IED, social anxiety, etc. Poor Shadow. He’s got about half the dang DSM in his brain.

- Tails has an anxiety disorder, but it’s mild and is mostly under control.

- Elise has depression and anxiety in the 06 timeline.

- Rouge suffers from chronic backaches. She hides it well and doesn’t talk about it, but there is no way her back feels good. (I speak as a woman with a similar build.)

- Rouge was born red with slightly tan skin on the parts that don’t have much fur. She has full-coverage vitiligo. This also explains why her face is slightly darker in SA2 than in any other appearance. It started with small patches, but as she grew up, got more intense.

- Amy is heterosexual biromantic. (I’ve seen the way she is with Blaze sometimes.)

- Amy has mild balance problems.

- Amy’s small nose is a rare trait for hedgehogs in Sonic’s world. (See: Sonic Forces’ avatar creator.)

- Silver has a really intense guilt complex. He blames himself for his parents dying, even though he was too little to possibly be able to do what it would take to save them at the time.

- Silver is an early bloomer in terms of hair and quill development. He would have his mom style his quills for him when he was tiny.

- Silver’s father would look a lot like Shadow, but with a few key differences. His stripes would be light blue, and he wouldn’t have any on his arms. He would have a prosthetic leg (because one of his OG legs would have been burned off when he was around Silver’s age). He would have brown eyes, similar to Prime!Shadow. And he would have gloves and boots similar to his son’s, because he is where the telekinesis genes are from.

- Silver’s mom would be named Pearl, because she looked like one. Her eyes would be very light blue. She would have been deaf in one ear, but would have been able to hear slightly better with a hearing aid. Also, she would be blind. (Often, albino animals and humans have vision and hearing disabilities, and Pearl would be no exception.) She would style her quills - and Silver’s quills - by feel, and Silver would always want his quills like his mom’s quills. Oh, yeah, and Pearl would have the tiny ears.

- Movie!Tails is a huge fan of Kidz Bop. (Watches every single one of Savvy’s sign-alongs, got emotional when Eagan announced he was quitting, loves the covers but loves the few original tracks even more - he especially loves "Life of the Party" and "KIDZ BOP Never Stop".) Movie!Sonic and Maddie like them okay, but they aren’t as into it as Tails is. Movie!Knuckles thinks most of the Kidz Bop tracks are a little weird, but he likes older KB CDs. Tom is annoyed by many of the older batches that Knuckles prefers. One of the older KB tracks that everyone, even Tom, can vibe with is "Chariot". Tom sings along with that one teenager, Knuckles sings along with the "Oh, yeahs!", Sonic and Tails love to sing along with the younger backup singers, and absolutely everyone comes together with the chorus. Furthermore, Tom is impressed that they managed to make “Cake by the Ocean” into a kid-friendly song by changing most of the words and the entire context around so it’s actually about sharing some actual cake by an actual ocean (though there is one line that still didn’t age well but we’re not gonna mention that because at the time KB did the song nobody knew what we know now.) With that said, this is Sonic’s least favorite track…because even if there is cake involved, he doesn’t like thinking about being too close to the ocean. Tails is sensitive enough to listen to that track with headphones by himself only, knowing that, you know, Sonic is scared of the ocean.

- Sonic in most continuities is physically incapable of swimming.

- Tails would have been able to fly faster than he does if the bullies never pulled on his tails.

- Amy has cyclothymia, but it’s well-controlled.

hey so kinda funny: i started calling Eleven by star/starself long before ever watching The Big Bang

i cannot stress enough how much The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang means to me (episode spoilers ahead!!!!)

Eleven has been my supernova since the beginning, but i didn't know until today that star is legitimately a fucking supernova. and on top of that star isn't just A supernova star is THEE supernova. the one that restarted it all.

i just called Eleven "star" because of star's temperament: bright and sunny one moment and the embodiment of deadly rage the next. but star is a Star. an actual Star.

i did this entirely based on my love for star and now here i am crying on the couch at 8pm hearing the fear in star's voice being put in the Pandorica and xier begging for everyone to listen to xem. star flying directly into the exploding TARDIS knowing damn well that xey'll be forgotten entirely.

i'll bet xey were mildly convinced xey deserved it too.

The full set would be xe/xeir/xeirs/xeirself and it uses singular conjugations. Can also be spelled “xier”. This is a different set of pronouns than xe/xem/xeir.

I based the flag off aliens and space themes because that's what these pronouns remind me of.

Xeit/xeits

The full set would be xeit/xeits/xeitself. It could also be spelled as xeit/xeirt/xeirts or xeit/xeiter/xeiters. Or as xet/xeit! The possibilities are almost endless.

It's a combination of it/its and xe/xeir that uses singular conjugations. The flag is the xe/xeir flag plus the gray it/its flag.

When Alex was sentenced to The Wall, xey we... let's say, not in the best of headspaces. Xey did something that would only send xem into a local jail only for a little while, a few months at most. But The Wall? How did this happen?

The first night in the cell, Alex broke down. Sobbing, screaming, pulling at xeir long black hair. Xey didn't sleep well or at all for a few days. By this point, Alex grew overly shy, not speaking to others or even the guards. Only nodding and shaking xeir head.

Even after the escape, Alex hates confined, cold spaces with no way out. Nightmares still plague dreams, but it's made okay when Alex wandered over to cuddle with xier two partners. They make everything better.

Hey here I am again talking about Raines pronouns in the german dub!

Finally the german dub of season two is on disney plus and I watched almost all episodes with Raine in it. Some of you might remember my mom constantly misgendering them because she refuses to use neo pronouns. (In germany we don’t really have gender neutral pronouns yet. Every gender neutral pronoun is a neo pronoun) So I wanted to check the german dub out before I watch it with her. My mom refers to Raine with she/her pronouns which is still misgendering but well an "upgrade“ considering that Raine gets misgenderd with male pronouns in most dubs of other countries. But it still really bugs me because I knew before that Raine has neo pronouns in german.

But what I also knew is that in the first episode they showed up in is that they get misgenderd with he/him…… I knew it would change in the following episodes. But MAN was this hard to watch! Everytime Eda called Raine "him“ my hair just stood up. It felt so wrong and almost like as if I got misgenderd myself! I hoped that they upgraded the version on disney plus since they changed Raines pronouns in later episodes but dang I was wrong!

BUT luckily…. they made the change! And damn did it feel GOOD! Every character constantly addresses Raine with their right pronouns! And well neo pronouns in german! Everytime they got called by xier/xem I felt so validated! And just so nice! I got gender euphoria from it too. I think it’s because I do use xier/xem as well in german for myself! I just felt so seen with Raine! I’m SO happy the german dub at least did. that right and changed it.

Raine doesn’t get voiced by a nonbinary voice actor in the dub. I looked him up and well maybe the voice actor is in the closet but honestly I do doubt it. The voice also doesn’t really fit Raine but that’s with lots of other characters in german too. (Kikimora for example sounds very terrible!) BUT for their teen voice they actually hired a nonbinary actor. And they sound fantastic! I wished they did it with adult Raine too. (Also the teen voice fits Raine perfectly. Eda however still sounds like an old lady lol)

In the end I need to say that I’m happy about the decision that they gave Raine neo pronouns. But the whole german voice team could do a LOT better with their casting… Darius for example is voiced by the whitest white man ever….

At least they saw an error with Raine in the middle of it and changed it. And it felt so good! And I’m so happy about it!

And maybe now, when my mom sees Raines pronouns "in action“ she will finally accept them!

15 minutes. It had been 15 minutes since the new episode of Nova Explorers premiered, and Lamar was nowhere to be seen. He never missed one of these premiers, certainly never asked Morgan to fill him in on anything he missed. Sure, she knew they could rewatch it on LuuTube, but watching the premiers together was a special time between them, even way back when he introduced her to the series.

Something was up, and Morgan was determined to figure out what it was.

Muting the television, xe hopped up from the couch and entered the hallway behind the common area. Sofia had mentioned something about fixing up a project she and her friend were working on, so xe was careful to stay quiet. Eventually xe approached Lamar’s door, which was slightly ajar. As much as Morgan would’ve liked to admire the new stickers he had adorned upon it, xe went to give a blunt knock, ready to tell him off for missing the premier.

Or, she would have, until she heard him talking to someone.

As much as xe didn’t want to snoop, xe couldn’t help but listen in. From the crack of the door, Lamar was laying on his bed, comfortably propped between two body pillows. The phone app of his Meta Runner arm was pulled up, and while xe couldn’t discern exactly who it was, the profile wasn’t similar to any of his buddies’ that xe was familiar with. Xe definitely had never seen him so relaxed, so… at peace. Instead of the cocky grin or concentrated glare he normally had when talking or gaming with his usual friends, his expression was calm, and a gentle smile sat on his face. Who could garner such a look from-

“Look, my little buddy’s waiting for me, I better get goin’. But I’m glad you’re doin’ better baby, I’ll talk to you later, okay?”

Morgan processed that for a moment. She didn’t want to jump to any conclusions, but if her conclusion was correct, then everything suddenly made so much more sense.

Typically xe would’ve retained the courtesy to knock, but this revelation overcame xier manners.

“Soooo.. Who are you talking to?” She asked, slowly opening the door.

“O-Oh! There ya are, heheh,” he had a tone as if he were trying to play it off, when he had a realization with a start. “Er, how much of that did you hear?”

“Don’t worry! I wasn’t like, spying on your conversation or anything, but I am curious; unless that was a bot, I don’t think I’ve ever heard Mr. Lamar Willams call anyone ‘baby’.”

“Well…” He looked around the room, gathering his courage. “I mean, it's not a big deal or anything, but, I kinda… Sorta been seein’ someone.”

“Seeing someone.” Morgan spoke.” Like. Legit seeing someone.”

“Yep. Again, I’ve been keepin’ it on the down low, but-”

“You have a girlfriend.” A wide smile began to spread on xier face, taking just a moment to fully comprehend what he said.

“Guess you could say that.”

…

“SOFIA!” Morgan shouted over her shoulder, starling Lamar. “LAMAR’S GOT A GIRLFRIIIEND!”

Xe darted out of the room, inches away from banging xier shoulder on the door in xier haste. Lamar remained sitting, remembering why he didn’t want to tell xem just yet. He sighed as he accepted the fact the cat was out of the bag as he heard Sofia’s door opening, accompanied with their high pitched excitement blaring from down the hallway. Barely a moment went by for him to register before they began thundering back towards his room. Oh boy.

In a flash, his door burst open once again, both his younger friend’s hardly able to contain their excitement.

“How’d you meet? What’s she like? Where does she live?” Questions came flurrying from them both.

“You guys, you guys, chill!”

“Sorry, it's just this is really exciting!” Sofia exclaimed.

“Listen, if you guys promise to calm down, I’ll tell you about her, deal?”

“Okay! Calming down now.” Morgan said, relegating her excitement to her flapping hands.

“Alright.” He took a breath, sitting up in his bed. “So, her name is Arielle, but I call her Ella. She’s a Meta Runner like I am, but doesn’t work for any specific company.”

“What’s she like?”

The tender smile Morgan saw earlier returned as Lamar explained. “She’s… One of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. She cares so much about her friends, and she’s so selfless. But once she gets behind a controller, goddamn she’s a force to be reckoned with.”

“She sounds awesome! I’d love to meet her, does she live around here?” Morgan asked.

“‘S a matter of fact, she lives on the other side of town.”

“Woo! Well let her know she can come down anytime, she seems really-”

“Who can come anytime?” A voice asked from the doorway.

The three looked over to see Belle sporting a confused look. Morgan immediately bounded over to her.

“Belle! Lamar has a girlfriend!!” Xe gripped her arm and bounced in glee.

“Woah woah, chill- He has a what.” Belle looked over at him in disbelief.

“Yeah! Her name is Arielle and she’s a Meta Runner too and she’s really cool!”

“Is that what I heard you yelling about when I got back?”

“Yep!”

Belle processed this for a moment, before breaking out into laughter.

“Hey! What’s so funny?” Lamar demanded.

“It’s just, you, the ‘body pillow king’ got an actual girl?”

“C’mon babe, be happy for him! This is great news!” Morgan retorted.

“Alright, alright,” Belle said, before redirecting to Lamar. “So, does this Arielle know about your body pillow thing?”

“As a matter of fact she does, and she’s cool with it.” Lamar stated proudly. “Wouldn’t let somethin’ like that get in the way of our relationship.”

Belle rolled her eyes. “Whatever you say.”

“Don’t mind her, we’re happy for you dude.” Sofia said.

“Yeah, I can’t wait to tell Masa when he gets back, he’s gonna flip!” Morgan said.

“I don’t think Masa’s ever flipped out about anything.” Belle commented

“Well, there’s a first for everything.” Morgan giggled, before a sense of seriousness overcame her. “I mean, as long as you’re okay with that, heh.”

“Not much point in keepin’ it a secret at this point, but maybe let me tell him myself, yeah?” Lamar said.

“Deal.”

After a moment, a realization came upon Morgan. “Oh, uh, Lamar? You kinda missed the premier of the new Nova Explorers episode.”

Lamar’s face fell. “Dammit! I completely lost track of time!”

He leapt up from his bed. “C’mon little bud, our gals are waiting for us!”

“You have fun with that.” Belle said dismissively.

Lamar was tempted to retort, but for now the premier was all he had on his mind.

That, and his girl, whom he had a feeling would become well inclined to MD-5 in the near future.
