That Pacific Rim + GvK crossover theme just makes me think of Godzilla and Kong teaming up against Otachi and Leatherback (who funnily enough are also based on a lizard and an ape) lol.
ooo and now i'm realizing that nope is like reverse tremors
cowboy setting, deserts, making use of the horror of wide open spaces in broad daylight, giant creature hiding in plain sight that swallows people whole and has to be tricked into swallowing things to be harmed
except graboids are below, and jean jacket is above
is that the au on deviantart where merman deidara was suffocating because he can't breathe air? 😭
HFJDICTSEJHBWH YEAH THAT'S THE ONE
that drawing is 13 years old who are you and how did you find me XD
Some of that old stuff is best left buried. There should be a barrier on my Deviantart for everything made before 2022 with the long-term nuclear waste warning on it.
*slaps a holographic glitter sticker on my old DA that says "this is not a place of honor"*
How long can mer Luke survive out of water? I kinda like the idea that he can stay out for a pretty long time as long as he regularly keeps wet, but with no water at all he can only go maybe 15-30 minutes before he starts drying out and it becomes difficult for him to breathe.
this is gonna come up in the fic, actually. stay tuned <3

gotta love how they managed to make a dangerous, alien-looking movie monster but without any teeth or claws or cliched nasty pointy bits. just a big flying sand dollar that inhales you and digests you alive
Yeah Jean jacket is really strange but also incredibly memorable
Wait, so odd toed ungulates have greater issues with minerals and thus horn development? Huh, I'd always wondered why rhinos had a boneless horn made purely of keratin unlike basically every other horned herbivore mammal. Would this be a factor to that?
Well okay, it's not so much minerals as it is just nutrients in general. I should have specified that part. My mistake.
If you look at horse poop there's still blades of grass in it, as opposed to deer poop which is mostly just composed of poop. Even toed ungulates just have better digestive systems. This is also why there are no small odd toed ungulates, since they need megafaunal size to take advantage of surface-area-to-volume ratios; bigger size means food spends more time digesting, which they need.
But that isn't to say odd toed ungulates are bad. They're still a pretty successful family that's been kicking for 56 million years, with 17 species in modern day (that number is up for debate because apparently nobody can decide on how many horses there are). It's important to remember Natural Selection is the ultimate C student, and odd toed ungulates are earning more than just a passing grade.
