When you came to diamond city, looking so scruffy and honestly speaking, frightening, she didn't know how to feel! Piper had biases, and she always judged people before meeting them.

Of course, after finding out more about you, she felt... guilty. You were simply a gentle giant. Quiet, barely talked, yet so sweet and caring. The way you shielded her from harm, the way you took care of Nat as if she was your own child, the love you held in your eyes, it was breathtaking.

Piper didn't want to accept she was developing feelings for someone. She had Nat to take care of, and a paper to run! There was no place for love in that combination. Except, it's not that easy to tell your heart that.

Especially when she's prone to getting extremely jealous.

She was indeed right. She was the only one who could protect you. If you were hers, then nobody else would harass you, it was a win-win situation, for sure!

Affection - How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Joshua shows his affection through how he shelters you. He hates it when you leave the camp without him, and does everything he can to ensure you won't end up being a target for the White Legs or any other Legionary assassin that may come for him again. He's fully aware of the influence Ceasar has and would take this aspect of your relationship very seriously. You won't leave without someone else going with you. He simply won't allow it.

Blood - How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

In a normal relationship, Joshua would be more hesitant to show how violent he can get. But, in this situation, all the drive to hide who he really is goes out the window. He's willing to go as far as he needs to when it comes to you. Anyone necessary. The tribals, your companions, and even Daniel. He'd slaughter them all if it meant you'd be safe. He'd even do it in front of you.

Cruelty - How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

No. He thinks it's rude. It's not your fault that you aren't as experienced as he is. In fact, the whole reason he'd abduct you is to be able to keep a better eye on you. Making fun of you for something that was inevitably going to happen isn't something he's prone to doing.

Darling - Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

He's going to have you baptized, whether you want to or not, but besides that, he wouldn't dream of forcing you to do anything you didn't want to.

Exposed - How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

There are times when it feels as if you don't even know the man. He's quiet and incredibly closed off, even to you. He'll try to discreetly tell you about himself through bible verses or poetic words, but other than that, he's not jumping for you to learn about his past with the Legion any time soon. He wants you to love and trust him, not despise him.

Fight - How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He understands it. This world is harsh, of course, your instinct is to fight him. However, after the first week of staying with him, he hopes you’ll calm down and finally just accept that you’ll never get away from him.

Game - Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

He won’t. If you try and escape the humble home he’s managed to set up for you both in Zion, he’s going to be upset. Even with all the knowledge he’s told you about the White Legs and all those around who want to hurt you, and you still want to try your luck? He’ll be disappointed, to say the least. He expects you to have more instinct than that.

Hell - What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

He's always taken his philosophies seriously, even when he was in the Legion. So, if he ever overhears you saying something he deems to be blasphemous towards his religion, you're going to have a very hard time calming him down. He'll force you to pray out loud to the Lord and ask for forgiveness until he's satisfied. It doesn't matter to him if it takes hours, he refuses to let you be shunned to Hell for a sorry mistake such as the one you committed. What kind of husband would he be if he didn't seek to save you from God's wrath?

Ideals - What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

If he had it his way, you’d be the perfect housewife, staying home to cook and clean while he went out and did whatever. Some Legion habits never left him, and coming back to a loving spouse who’s prepared to comply with his every whim is one of them. Just the perfect nuclear family.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

He gets very quiet when he's jealous, preferring to be silent rather than blatantly lashing out at whoever is triggering these feelings. He thinks it's stupid that he gets so upset at the tribals for simply being around you. It's not like you'd leave him - not like you could - so why is he so stressed? He'll pray and go on walks to try and combat his jealousy, it's one of the only things he actively tries to work on.

Kisses - How do they act around or with their darling?

He acts as any spouse would. He kisses you on your hands or on your cheeks to greet you, rests a gentle hand on your lower back when you're near him, and does everything he can to take care of you.

Love letters - How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

As he believes any man should: with trinkets and thought-out dates. He wants to court you the right way, even if you’re aware from the start that you’ve got no other choice other than to accept his advances.

Mask - Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

On the outside it doesn’t appear as if anything has changed, however he feels different. There’s an urge now, something that tells him to kill. He’s felt it before during his peak in the Legion, but now it’s come back and he’s not sure what else to do than to quench the thirst of fear that floods him by ensuring your safety. Maybe it’s God's will that’s enforcing him to protect you.

Naughty - How would they punish their darling?

He’d shout and maybe grab your face, but he couldn’t imagine going any farther than that. If he wants to get his point across then he’ll just let you feel the raw fear that getting chased by Legionaries gives you (only once, he doesn’t want you to be actually harmed), but enough to get you to listen.

Oppression - How many rights would they take away from their darling?

He’ll take away your right to leave the tribes camp, your right to your weapons, your right to your opinions, your right of religion - there’s not much he doesn’t have control over.

Patience - How patient are they with their darling?

Joshua thinks he's patient, but he has a clear temper. He'll be kind one moment then angry the next. Although he does his best to not take it out on you, it's still terrifying to witness. Sometimes you wonder if it'd just be best to listen and avoid his fits altogether...

Quit - If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

No, he’s got it in his mind that God assigned him specifically to defend you and keep you safe, so if he ever were to fail that, he’d feel as if he were betraying the Lord's trust.

Regret - Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

How could he? You're better off this way. He's sworn to care for your every need. He'll feed you, give you access to water, cloth you, comfort you, bleed for you, house you - why should he feel guilty about doing you a favor? For loving you?

Stigma - What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Joshua has always had this need to worship in his life. It could be seen with how devoted he was to the Legion and the will of Caesar, then with God, and now with you. There's a primal urge within him to commit himself to wherever he feels most desired, and that just happened to be you.

Tears - How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

It shatters him, especially if you're acting like this because of something he did. He'll sit beside your curled-up form and whisper Bible verses and scriptures as a way to encourage and reassure you.

Unique - Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Vice - What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

His religion is a massive weak point, and if you can somehow convince him that it was God's will for you to go elsewhere, he may just let you go. Granted, you'd have to be really good at persuading people. He's a logical man and won't just take your word for it so easily.

Wit’s end - Would they ever hurt their darling?

Not intentionally, but sometimes he forgets his own strength when it comes to handling you. He likes to brush it under the rug though, best not to think about it.

Xoanon - How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

In his mind, he's already won you over. Of course, he'll still go through the process of romancing you and won't ever stop doing that, but his delusions tell him that you've already fallen for him. One thing about Joshua, however, is that he almost sees you as a second Christ. If you ask him to do something, he'll do it no questions asked. But, in the same sense, he's paranoid that you'll be crucified just like the Lord and is constantly looking out for that certain 'Judas' that will betray you.

Yearn - How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

Like a day. The second he feels different around you compared to others, he's got it in his head that you're a divine being or, at the very least, someone God wanted him to meet.

Zenith - Would they ever break their darling?

He hopes to 'break you in' to his way of life, but he hopes that it won't have to be violent or over the top in any way. He's certain you'll come around to his way of thinking soon enough, even if you need a little shove.

Vulpes Inculta headcannons

There is a very strong chance he has psychopathy (maybe ASPD to be exact). He has no remorse for anything he does if it's in relation to his goals.

That's not to say he is fully uncaring. He likely cares for those who he admires and respects (e.g. high ranking legionaries). But his care is only limited to those individuals. His care comes in the form of strong loyalty.

He is definitely not capable of any true love. If there was anyone he could truly"love", it would be the Caesar and serving the Legion. It's his sole driving force in life. He would happily fight and die for Caesar.

This leads me to believe if he were to ever start liking the courier romantically or sexually, it would be a great, intense obsession for him, instead of love. He would be driven for a desire to control and possess his object of interest.

If you are his object of interest (god, good luck), I think his sadism goes to extremely disturbing lengths. He will not hesitate to do the worst to you, whether it's for his own enjoyment or for Caesar.

I think Vulpes is genuinely the smartest and most quick witted legionary but would do poorer in leading the entire faction, compared to someone like Caesar or Lanius. He's good at leading people in battle related situations, very level-headed and rational, but less so good at being able to build up a very appealing reputation and image for his Legion. He's just too spy-ish and uses deception excessively.

Ignoring his monstrous brutality, if you became close allies with him, he would make an amazing mentor and source of motivation. As I said, he is prone to obsession, so he'd be really passionate about helping someone he deeply respects, and finds himself obsessing over the goals he sets for himself. He's a perfectionist in that regard and wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice any energy or time.

I think he's 5'9" and decently buff, even though most of the time, he swings a silly machete around.

He’s got eyes EVERYWHERE!!!!! He founded RobCo so he knows machines.

You might feel like you’re being watched, which you are be owns basically most of the strip and will control it when the Courier gets him that package.

He’s got robots and armed men that will track you down if you leave or even try and run

Might even force you into the body of a Securitron AI/ way less lethal robot. Good luck running down those stairs. Plus there’s a tracking chip in your new body.

Doesn’t need his House Girl’s anymore since he has you for any needs. He’ll have Jane watch you which she will happily do to keep Mr House happy.

Depending on your gender he might try to do some little experiments to get you pregnant without putting his body in jeopardy

Everyone on the strip knows not to mess with you (even Benny who actually listens)

He might also hire the Courier to body guard you as well if you need to go out because they lives and are probably the best fighter in the Mojave

He could also probably make you personal toys since he’s not physically able to do so. Or put himself into a special sex-bot. (Sorry i had to)

Oh, this is a good one. I really do like Kellogg as a character (but as a person he's pretty shitty), so this was interesting to explore! I just did his name for now, but I definitely might do the whole alphabet in the future... 👀

K) Kisses. How do they act around or with their darling?

Kellogg changes quite a bit with time. At first, it’s all about possession. He’s aggressive with his partner, he keeps a wary eye on them, grasps their arm tightly in his grip as they walk, stands much too close for comfort. When they’re intimate, he’s rough with the way he takes them, marking and bruising as he conquers their body with his. 

Later though, as he allows himself to become more disillusioned, he tries to act more like a proper partner, like he was with Sarah… Despite the fact that Sole is only there by force. He knows they despise him, deep down, he’ll always know that, but… Maybe the two of them don’t have to act that way. Maybe Conrad can get some small semblance of that life he knew he never deserved, but that he was so close to having all those years ago. With Sole, maybe he can play family again. Isn’t that something they would want as well? After all they lost? 

E) Exposed. How much of their heart do they bear to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

At first? Not at all. Most days, Kellogg wishes he could forget his own past, Sole has no need to hear that sob story. No, he’s very reserved in the early stages.

When they've 'been together' for awhile, he may start to open up though. Particularly on the softer nights, when they’ve both had a few drinks (Sole more so than him, he’s still worried about them trying to leave him if he lets his guard down), laying beside each other in the afterglow of a union not quite as rough as they used to be, he may let slip something sentimental or sweet about his family from before. While they’re walking around the Commonwealth, he may mumble about some memory of growing up on the east coast, and eventually Sole will have enough information to get a clear picture of his life, but it definitely comes in bits and pieces that they'll need to sort out. 

L) Love Letters. How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Sole did all the work for him, really. Came right into his clutches, as willingly as one can. Though, maybe they didn’t expect that he’d take such a liking to them. Nor did he, though.

Sole had always intrigued him, from the moment he saw them in their freezer. When he first started thinking about them, it just never stopped. Even when Sole chased him down, when they were spitting and cursing and their face was bunched up into a defiant snarl, that only made him more interested. He couldn’t believe the fight this pre-war suburban family-type had in them. After that meeting, there was no courting, no following them, no second-guessing himself. It ended there.

It was easy, holding their kid over their head like that, holding the information of where the Institute was and how to get there from them, their desperate eyes promising they’d do anything for the knowledge he had. Yes, it was easy after that, and so long as they knew that he had access to their son, that he could reach Shaun and they couldn’t, so long as they knew Kellogg was mad enough not to make idle threats about the safety of their child, Sole simply had to stay by his side. Or else.

L) – (M) Mask. Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Kellogg really is a simple man at heart. He is who he is, as unpleasant as that man may be. If anything, he can sometimes be softer with Sole than he is on the surface, but only when they are bending to his will, allowing him to remain beside them with just the right amount of fight in their actions, submitting, but with their teeth clenched and a glint in their eye, that’s when he chooses to show that softer side. That man that he wasn't, but that he once thought he had the capability to become. Conrad always knew he was a tough fucker, a mercenary, a killer, but when he’d had his family, the people he didn’t deserve, he became disillusioned, thinking his life could be anything but what it is now. Though… with Sole, maybe he can try to pretend once more. If only for a little while.

O) Oppression. How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Most everything. What the hell do they have left to lose, anyway? Everyone they love is gone, everywhere they could go has changed, the world isn’t safe, it isn’t theirs anymore. No, now it’s his. And so are they. Sole has no need for anyone else. Why would they? He can protect them, care for them, keep them in line and off the cruel streets. Hell, maybe one day he’ll even take them to the Institute... Maybe. 

For now though, they stick by his side, they remain with him and have minimal contact with anyone else. They show too much friendliness to some stranger, and Kellogg’s liable to end that conversation in a most gruesome way. What the hell else could they need? Who else could they need? Nah, they’re sticking by him, doing as he says and as he wants until the day their escape is successful, and if it isn’t? Well then, ‘till the day he dies or gets tired of them, whichever comes first. 

G) Game. Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling escape?

He’d like his partner having a bit of fight in them. It’s thrilling in a way, but it’s also… cute, endearing. They really think they have the capability of escaping from him? Really? Fine, let them try, let them realize the hard way that that isn’t the case. Kellogg would like to play their game for a time, mess with their mind, let them think they've gotten away for good this time, and then, at the last second, he’d foil their plans and make it clear that he’s known their intentions as long as they had them in that pretty little head of theirs. Kellogg can be cruel, especially at the beginning. As he grows more attached to his partner though, over time, it becomes less entertaining, less endearing to him, and he’ll put a stop to it, even if he has to take drastic measures. 

G) – H) Hell. What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Well, the day they met wasn’t great… Though, there have been some certainly rough days since. Kellogg is a ruthless mercenary, he’s violent and unpredictable, but he’s also remarkably calm. He’d be able to tear Sole’s life to pieces, to cut down any remaining loved ones who might seek to help safeguard them from him, and he’ll do it without so much as blinking an eye. He’s cold, so even when Sole has no other choice but to turn to him for comfort, when Kellogg is all they have left, he’s void of sympathy. That’s the greatest hell of all for Sole. Everything that he took from them, everything he's done to destroy their life, and yet... he will never apologize, never regret what he’s done, at least, as far as they can tell. Kellogg's been through that very same shit, and it hurt, but he made it through, and Sole will too. He'll make sure of that. Whether they want to or not.

necessary fallout lore talk: wasteland refers to, funnily enough, the entire american wasteland. raiders = nogooders who try to kill you for resources or fun and are generally morally deficient. come in gangs. ghouls = irradiated people that are “immortal” (ish), in fallout radiation profoundly affects skin appearance causing it to appear burnt (you see where this is going. dabi’s burns may actually be from radiation in this au!). vault = safe underground place where “vault dwellers” live, can be seen as naive by surface dwellers. but in fallout nearly all known vaults have an experiment inside that is generally detrimental to the vault dwellers. like. psychological stuff or long running social experiments or illegal drug testing. yeap! lets get started

- So imagine being fresh out the vault, having escaped your long-running experiment as your fellow vault dwellers chose to instead stay behind. You know virtually nothing about the wasteland. You don’t even know if anyone above even speaks the same language as you anymore.

- You have a gun, but you’re a terrible shot. You can sneak around potential assailants, but you’re dreadfully clumsy. All you want to do is make your way to the nearest settlement, but you’re struggling to make a map of the place and too paranoid to ask anyone for help.

- You think you’re so stealthy sneaking past that gang of raiders, unaware of the blue eyes watching you from a makeshift guard post. You’re not exactly hard to spot, you see. The vault jumpsuits are always bright blue and yellow, making for poor camouflage even in the dead of night. Your watcher just looks on in mild amusement, putting out a cigarette in the ashtray. It’s like watching a newborn deer stumble into the world. You really don’t have long until the wasteland eats you up.

- “Twice, take over for me. I need to head out.” you hear. They’re moving. It’s best to lay low, but you what you don’t understand is that you’ve already been spotted. Whoever Twice is, he responds with a comical “Ay-ay, cap’n”, as you hear someone slowly traverse creaking steps.

- “Bring back victims!” you can hear a female voice say. You shudder. The first voice, calmer, responds “Maybe. But Shiggy put a ban on torturing people inside the camp.”, followed by another voice- “Shiggy”, you presume- interjecting with, “Of course I did, it always smells like shit.”

- You were practically shaking against the bush you were attempting to hide in. Real murderers, people who violated every sense of your vault-dweller morals, could casually talk about killing and maiming other human beings right out in the open. You’d only spent a week or so in the Wasteland, barely surviving, and still trapped within a seemingly endless culture shock. But this was more than that and it made you nauseous to your core.

- You can hear footsteps approaching your hiding place. A dark silhouette moves closer, and closer… you know you stick out like a sore thumb, but you pray for the mercy of whatever’s out there to be on your side.

- When he points the gun at you, you don’t raise your own- you cover your face with your hands. Cute. Pathetic. He chuckles a little, and watches as you flinch. His… comrades are currently arguing over the matter of where to torture intruders. You could vomit there and then.

What do you think, Princess?” He asks, slightly raspy. “Do I shoot?”

You can barely comprehend the idea that he’s asking you anything, and you only manage to weakly shake your head in response. Scared into silence. Lowering your hands, you observe the man in front of you. There’s small pieces of metal embedded across his face and they shine dully in the moonlight. His skin- it’s like he’s half of one of those ghouls, stitched together like Frankenstein’s monster. You briefly wonder if he would even get that reference. You wonder about the man whose hands you’re going to die at.

“No?” He prods.

“No.” You whisper. “Are you g-going to do it anyway?”

He bends down, and you see those burning blue eyes up close. “Now don’t go around giving me ideas, doll.”

He lowers his gun- only slightly- as his other hand reaches out for you, gently running over your vault suit. The dead giveaway of your complete naivety. You try not to shake as his hand caresses your shoulder before slowly drawing back. “From a vault, huh?”

“That’s right.”

You inhale shakily as he takes a slight step away.

“I would know even if you weren’t wearing that damn suit. It’s like you were born yesterday.”

Part of you wants to call out his unfairness and argue for yourself, but another, more rational, part of you demands that you remain silent.

“…Poor thing. Must be some sadists running those places to send you out all unprepared.”

You keep quiet, but cower a little further into yourself. If you have his pity, that’s surely a road to leaving this encounter alive. The man thinks for a moment, running his free hand along the piercings embedded on his face whilst the other stays firmly on his lowered gun.

“How about this? You can come back to my camp with me and I’ll teach you the ropes of the wasteland.”

“In exchange for what?” You reply, bitterness tinging your voice. In all honesty, after overhearing the conversation between him and the people in his camp, you had no intentions of going anywhere with this stranger. The man seems to scowl a little, but his tone remains even.

“You know it’d just make my heart ache to leave a vulnerable thing like yourself all alone.” He responds, sickly sweet.

“I doubt that.”

His shoulders slump and he lets out a sigh, almost convincing you that it would’ve been wiser to take him up on his offer. Almost. “This is the kind of idiocy that’s going to get you killed, princess. Maybe you can call my name as a last resort.”

“Which is?”

“Dabi.”

You nod, and anxiously respond with your own. He only gives a wry smile, telling you that it’ll be good to be able to put a name to the mysterious corpse of a vault dweller in a few weeks time. Then he leaves you, still half in the bush, picking twigs off your vault suit.

- Dabi knows the rest of his gang will be pissed at how he’s going AWOL. It doesn’t matter to him. He’s done it before. It’s just that he’s never really did it to play guardian angel for a naive vault dweller before. He wants to drag you home with him- to safety- but he can’t deny there’s an entertaining factor in watching you flounder in the throes of nuclear fallout.

- You last… surprisingly long. The greatest survival tool you have is that you know when to pick your battles, and you pick very, very few of them.

- Some kinder souls in settlements offer you places to sleep and things to eat, and kinder yet show you how to procure those things on your own. When you start running around with an ex mercenary who’s teaching you everything he knows- perhaps out of a lifetime of guilt, or boredom, or because he just wants to rip off that vault suit and indulge in what’s underneath- Dabi draws the line.

- It’s selfish. Dabi knows. He doesn’t care. You’re his lovely, weak, afraid, vault dweller fantasy. And you have so much to thank him for. He takes care of you in ways you don’t see. He burns down entire bases of raiders that try to assault you. When you’re asleep, he slips an extra canister of water into your backpack. He sneaks into firefights, eliminating gunmen from afar. And he pays a higher price than you could ever offer for that ex-mercenary to fuck off somewhere else.

- All he looks forward to is the day you finally bite off a little more than you can chew, because he wonders if you really will cry out for him. He’ll save your life in exchange for your lifelong compliance and permanent companionship. There’s so much he can teach you, too.

- No matter what, you will end up by his side. Finders keepers, and you’ve been found for longer than you’ll ever know.

Ex mercenary hawks that’s extremely jaded telling you all the ways in which the wasteland is so scary and how you need to stay by his side forever, unlike dabi, who i think would be sorta like “well if i could do it you can too. but it’s better if i’m there”… taking advantage of his experience to present himself as trustworthy and resourceful, but he just wants you for himself

- 💙 For those of you that have played nuka world: i know toga is a little out of character from the short passage i wrote like yes i get her character shes not just randomly stabby stabby but what i’m going for is that in fallout she would totally be a disciple or ex disciple . The inspiration for shiggy’s one line in this fic is how i imagine the disciples hideout smells.

- ❤️Slavery is a thing in fallout so dabi could technically do that with one of those collars that blow heads off (yep! Horrifying!), too. Interesting to think about… actually in fallout it confuses me that nobody ever tries to enslave the sole survivor given that we are a walking bright blue flag of naivety

- ❤️Also, just thinking of Fallout 1 (to recap even for fallout players: vault dweller leaves vault to replace necessary water chip and must return within a set amount of days or the vault will fail) i think there’s something so grisly about the vault dweller meeting a “bad end” in a wasteland they’re so inexperienced in. Even in fallout 4 it’s admitted that they were basically seeing how long you could make it in the wasteland. I think in the fallout universe there would be a sort of novelty in kidnapping and keeping a vault dweller of all people (and the canon misogyny in fallout makes me deeply and genuinely afraid for female vault dwellers sent to the surface). This kind of thing happening to fallout 1 vault dweller is depressing as hell because there’s also that sense of failure with being unsuccessful in obtaining a water chip. Very few have played fallout 1 compared to later games, but i want to say that for the first playthrough the game is actually stressful. The pressure of a time constraint for the water chip is FELT. Just the idea of vault dweller reader resigning to their fate because they have nothing to return to…

Canada immediately finds himself groaning in mock disgust when he first meets you. Ugh, he has a twin that he already has to deal with and now you? That’s quite a coincidence. 

If you’re just as exuberant and as cheerful as America, Canada will find himself instantly brightening at your presence. There’s just something addictive to your presence; it’s almost like a shot of serotonin bursting inside of his veins. At least with you, he doesn’t have to deal with political fallout if he ever gets on your bad side.

And that’s another thing about America and yourself if you share many traits with him. America gets nasty and aggressive if someone wrongs him. There have been incidents in the past where America absolutely loses it and it’s because he knows that there will be terrible, irrevocable consequences to follow that he holds back. 

With that in mind, Canada is cautious when he learns that his fondness that he first mistakes as familial heads into a territory that would make any sensible person bristle in shame. It starts out small, something that can be brushed aside. When Canada is fond of you, he’ll treat you sort of like his brother, another member of his dysfunctional family. He’ll play pranks on you, take you out hiking, and schedule movie nights. It’s nice to bump shoulders with you, to mock punch you whenever the both of you get rowdy. 

And yet—

Like flowers in spring, something else begins to bloom. Canada realizes that he doesn’t want to be seen as a brother. In fact, he doesn’t want to see you as another America. 

Canada looks at you one day, perhaps while you’re helping him make pancakes in the middle of his harsh winters, and he sees you as something more than just a playmate or a close friend. He questions why he thinks that until he starts to realize just how much he likes having you around. Your voice, your warmth, your scent. Your personality is reminiscent of America’s, yet he finds that what makes you all the more fascinating is your differences. 

Your smile is not blinding like a raging sun; in fact, he says it’s like gentle candlelight bathed in the evening darkness. Your laughter does not grate at his ears and you don’t go around playfully threatening his life with shows of “non-aggression”. 

You’re a lot more gentle.

And a lot more compliant if Canada were to try anything.

But Canada wouldn’t do anything to you! No, why would he? After all, you trust him and of the twins he’s far more trustworthy than his southern brother. So why don’t you come into his house for a nice cup of coffee? There’s even a game of hockey that'll be sure to entice you!

(He means this genuinely, by the way. He just wants to spend more time with you).

Don’t worry if you decline his invitations, he’s very patient compared to other Nations. As a person, he tends to be overlooked in the first place, so it’s not like he’s unused to rejection. Despite that, he can’t deny that if you ever say no to him, he will be consumed by melancholy and the tight feeling of envy drowning in his chest.  Ideally, Canada would rather you come to him without any sort of underhanded tricks, but if you continue to push your luck…

Ah, but Canada would rather not think about that. America always has time for him at the end of the day so the same must be said for you. Right?

Cait would be much more possessive and sometimes she would show her affections. She wants you to know and remember that you are hers.

She hates when you are around the others. Especially sweet people like Curie or Preston. She believes that you might realize that she is not that great, and will try to run away from her.

Hancock is a very clingy yandere, he'll always want to be touching you in some way, whether that be him having his arm draped around your shoulders or his hand hovering on the small of your back. He just can't seem to get enough of you! He's so scared someone out there is going to corrupt or hurt you in some way, so to keep you close by, he'd get you addicted to something. He's got a solid supply of chems that come through Goodneighbor and would gladly use that to his advantage if it meant keeping you safe. Hancock also isn't above organizing assassinations if it meant that he'd be in better peace of mind over your safety. He doesn't want to hurt you in any way, his only goal is to keep you protected and somewhat sheltered from the horrors of the commonwealth.

“Feelin’ nervous? I know a little trick that could help fix that edge. Sure, it’s safe, and I’ve got plenty of it, all you’ve gotta do is stick by me. How’s that sound?”

Nick is so painfully aware that what he's feeling isn't love, but he's so subtle about it, and that makes him feel as if he's somewhat in the clear. The main thing that you'll notice with Nick is that he has a constant eye on you. He always seems to know where you're at, who you're with, or where you're going and he has no trouble throwing in his own input as a result. Usually, it's just snarky comments about the people you surround yourself with, although, they'll be common enough that you end up being influenced by them. Eventually, you'll cut off your loved ones one by one until it seems like you only have Nick left.

“The Commonwealths dangerous, doll, im just tryin’ to do what’s best for ya”

Danse is incredibly strict about who you're around, what you're doing, and where you're going. He's lost so many people close to him already, and he refuses to lose you, especially after all the support you showed him when he found out he was a synth. In his mind, you're the only person he has left―a savior of sorts, and he'd do anything to protect you from the rest of the world, even if it meant he'd have to do something drastic to ensure this. He's not afraid of locking you in a shed of sorts and keeping you there until you comply with his wishes. Just let him take care of you, he doesn't want to have to get aggressive to get you to listen. Danse's last resort would be to cripple you in some way so that it would be impossible for you to get away from him, then you'd really have to rely on him.
