I would love a otome game with the Diasomnia gang but I can already tell that I would feel guilty when I would finish a route and switch over to a new route 😭

Malleus’ route I feel would be the final route. The one where you have to play all the other routes just to unlock his. The poster boy route if you will, which makes sense because he technically is the poster boy for twst.

Malleus is the Crown Prince and you were betrothed to him. 

Your marriage to him was a political one to finally bring peace to both the human and fae race after hundreds of years of fighting.

He was cold to you because he didn’t know how to treat you.

He was strong and many of his kind feared him, so of course, you would fear him too.

not to say you weren’t at the beginning, but you slowly warmed up to him from the constant meetings you two had since you were young.

you saw the way people ignored and went out of their way to not interact with him, while you had friends who adored you.

so you made yourself a promise, while this marriage was a political one, you would love your dragon fae husband.

now Malleus, he wasn’t used to you.

You who would try your best to interact with him, and he tried to act cold towards you, but that all changed.

when you stayed by his side while he was sick, and you fed him soup.

you became the bright light to his dark days.

you didn't know much about him besides the fact that you would meet up with him at the forest and play with him.

I want to say, that silver is the character who is, no matter the route, the one who is always in love with you. All he wants is your happiness even if you do not choose him in the end.

he comes from an abusive household, even though he wouldn't admit it (and probably doesn't realize it). while his mother never used much physical punishment, he is no stranger to getting yelled at and having all his comforts taken away for the smallest mistake

when he realizes his darling came from a similar background, he'd probably take a cold hard look at himself: is he... becoming like his mother? the thought is terrifying to him- he doesn't want to be like that, he doesn't want his darling to fear him like he did his mother

although the realization would lead to him being more lenient and less punishing, he is still a toxic lover. sure, he isn't yelling at his darling for breaking rule #163- but he is still guilt-trippy, still a perfectionist deep down. it's a small improvement, though

even though he would like nothing more than to destroy those who dared hurt his darling, he'd hesitate. he knows he'd lose it if someone were to hurt his mother, even after all she put him through; what if his darling feels the same way about the people who hurt them in the past...? he feels like he shouldn't ask such a crass question, so he'll limit himself to promising to protect his darling

in short, while he is enraged at those who hurt his darling in the past, he believes they're safe now: he would never let such harm befall them again... it's another excuse to why he keeps them locked up. but if his darling's past tormentors ever as much as tried to poke their heads back into their life, it's off with their heads- and perhaps lives, if riddle can so so.

leona kingscholar

he's immediately deeply angry when his darling admits part of their fear of him comes from their past experience. he cannot stand it- his darling should only be scared of him, respect him; the fact other people even dared try to get his darling to hurt in the past makes him red with rage.

he'll absolutely track down his darling's past tormentors. does he care if his darling is scared of him? no. does it piss him off that they're scared of him because of other people? god- it makes his blood sizzle. don't mistake his rage with him being a knight in shining armour for his beloved- although he wouldn't be opposed to his darling seeing it like that

he'll kill them in cold blood, with his bare hands. this isn't a job he can make someone else do: it has to be him. he may even make his darling watch as he tears their previous tormentors to shreds. it's horribly gruesome, and it'll certainly scar his darling, but he doesn't care. if they're going to fear him, then fear only him.

azul ashengrotto

he instantly softens up with his darling when they admit this. he may not have been abused in his past, but the scars of the bullying and teasing in his formative years still weigh down heavily on him

he'll comfort his darling as he wished someone had comforted him- but this is also a good way for him to become even clingier and more obsessive... sure, he isn't being harsh or mean, but his darling is still very much a prisoner to him

he'd absolutely try to get revenge on those who wronged his darling, but he might not kill them. instead, he'll torture them (with the twin's help, of course!) until they apologise in tears to his darling- beg for mercy to them, cry- before he takes them away to never be seen.

in reality, this probably doesn't help his darling's trauma in a bit, bur for him, it's cathartic. he feels like he's wiped a dark period of his darling's life clean- aren't they happy? aren't they grateful?

kalim al-asim

he gasps and immediately holds his darling into a hug when they admit how their past was. so that was why- why despite all his attempts and gifts, they remained scared...?

kalim cannot comprehend how anyone could ever hurt his darling. they're the most beautiful, kindest and gentlest soul on earth: who would dare think of bringing harm upon them?! the thought makes him seeth with anger

he'll swear that he won't ever allow such a thing to happen again. after all, he's already protecting them (by keeping them locked in, always making jamil check up on them); he'll just double his efforts. he'll have extensive background checks on every single servant who attends his beloved just to make sure they have ZERO history of violence

it isn't hard for such a rich man with connections everywhere to find the people who hurt his darling in the past. it's also not hard to pay for their deaths: every single one of them is quietly found dead after mysteriously going missing... he won't say what he did to his darling, simply reassuring them they're safe now

vil schoenheit

do people have no shame?! he's incredibly shaken and stirred when his darling finally admits the source of their fears. people are beasts- he knows this, and that's why he keeps his darling close at all times, but to think they'd already managed to hurt them before he even knew them...!

he has no problem sending his legions of fans against anyone who wronged his darling. after all, he's seamlessly introduced his beloved as part of his image: his fans adore his darling! he's presented them as a weak, meek and adorable doll, the source of his happiness. if he as much as mentioned someone had wronged them... the fury would be immediate and direct

although vil is guilty of tearing down his darling's self esteem whenever they do something he dislikes, he'll act as if he'd never done that. suddenly he brings up how lucky his darling is to have him, who will bring justice to them- he who will make those who wronged them regret being born, he who loves them so much to go through all of this

and if one day, those past tormentors quietly day due to a scentless, tasteless, untraceable poison...? well, isn't that just a wild coincidence!

he cannot believe such scum exists. even he- the lowest of the low, a disgusting freak who kidnapped his darling- wouldn't dare to hurt them for the sake of just causing pain!

he immediately regrets every single physical punishment he ever gave, although it's such a rare occasion and usually something even lesser than a slap. no wonder his darling was scared! he was just a monster, right? just was bad as the others, right?!

he'll feel the need to make it up to his darling, and he can't think of any other way than revenge. if he gets rid of those who hurt his darling, can his actions be forgiven? he prays they can

his darling's past tormentors better be ready for hell- what starts as merely hacking into their devices becomes a one-man lead spionage campaign, with blakmail slowly and surely driving them up a wall. idia will show no pity- he has to make them pay. he has to, so he may one day be forgiven...

malleus draconia

it's not just men's nature that makes them hurt each other, and he knows this, but even still he cannot help but want to curse all mankind when his darling finally tells him about their past experiences

he doesn't care about reasons or circumstances- all he knows is that those people hurt his darling. all dragons are protective of their treasure, and to think of others laying their filthy hands to strike his most beloved... he can feel fire burning in his mouth at the mere thought

he'll swear to never lay a hand on his beloved- but don't be fooled, this doesn't mean that the relationship will improve. physical punishments are replaced with the torture of isolation, of taking away all the comforts he's given his darling until they beg for him

and as for his darling's tormentors... to them, after malleus learns of their actions, death would be nothing short of a blessing. the draconian man wouldn't feel a shred of pity in torturing them, breaking their fragile human bodies time and tima again. he has no pity for anyone who hurts his beloved

despite rules for unbirthday parties being so strict following the queen of heart’s rules, holding a regular birthday party has surprisingly lax regulations

riddle is quite set on not making the celebration too similar to an unbirthday party- it would be wrong! a violation to the rules! ... besides, it takes a lot of people to host one of those; preferably, he should be the only one with his darling on their special day

he’s going to make it a small celebration- some simple cake or tart over some tea, just him and his darling, how it should be

he’s going to be a bit more lenient than usual. it is their special day; he doesn’t want to come off as draconian or tyrant on such a celebration. (memories of how his mother celebrated his birthday come to mind- no he’s not like that, he’s not, look he’s gotten them a sweet cake and all the treats he could want; he’s not like her-!)

he’s going to allow his darling to sleep in, maybe even breakfast in bed, but they better still watch their manners. he’s lenient, not permitting sloppiness

he tries to make it a cheery celebration, but his insistence to still apply most of the odd rules and have everything prim and proper, plus the fact that he’s the only one his darling is allowed to see, make the birthday party feel a bit... odd, but it’s alright, isn’t it? his darling isn’t going to whine about it, right?

when it comes to a gift, he’ll take into account his darling’s tastes, but he’ll still get them something that fits his criteria. his darling shouldn’t be surprised if the gift is something that resembles what he’d use or wear- he likes to match, it’s a way to mark them as his

he’s almost... surprisingly sweet. his usual roughness and his bad attitude is lessened, almost as if he wants his darling to be the focus for the day

leona’s going to pamper his darling on their birthday. he’ll seek out their favourite foods, allow them to laze around, and take care of them all day. it’s a bit of a shocking twist, considering it’s usually him who acts that way

he’ll make it a point to remind them that the special treatment is due to their birthday. it’s an almost sweet, gentle treatment; it’s... jarring, considering they’re his captive

leona will be straightforward. he’ll ask them what they want for a gift and get that- within reason. he won’t allow for “gifts” that he considers are too out of hand, or communication he doesn’t allow

he has no problem reminding his darling that, even if he doesn’t act like it, he’s a prince; he can easily take his darling out to some touristic location and have it cleared out “for his safety as royalty”; there’s no need for them to have any chance to run into others just because he’s taken them out, right?

azul ashengrotto

azul sees his darling’s birthday as another chance to buy their affection- surely, they can look past all his wrongdoings if he just shows how much he cares, right...?! well, ok, he knows that logically it’d never work that way; but it’s a good chance to at least have his darling lower their guard around him just a little

there’s lots of delicious food- most of it made in the mostro lounge. some of it are his darling’s favourite dishes, along with dishes that azul himself likes- there’s not enough food for a big party, though. it is just a four person celebration: azul, his darling, and the twins

despite him usually acting more clingy and emotional with his darling, he’ll act like quite the gentleman- he’s so suave, he might even woo his darling a bit, until they remind themselves they’re his captive

he might close the mostro lounge for the evening, just to celebrate with his darling

when it comes to a gift, well, azul is a bit greedy- he wants to give his darling something he likes. sure, he won’t be so selfish as to forget their wants entirely, but it’s very clear his own tastes were in the equation

after the celebration, though, he’ll return to being a clingy octopus; he’ll latch onto his darling, asking if they liked the party, the gift, the food- it was all amazing, right? right?

kalim loves parties! he adores them- sometimes hosting them for no reason at all, but other times it’s nice to have a motive!

kalim isn’t shy about letting others see his darling in an environment where he has the upper hand; showing off his darling in the clothes and jewels he acquired for them in a seat high above the main hubbub of the party for everyone to look at... it wouldn’t be the first time he does this

of course, this time it’s different! it’s not just a party for him to show off his precious darling- it’s a party FOR his darling!

this doesn’t mean he’s going to just let them roam the halls and mingle with others; that’s dangerous, he thinks. his darling must stay by his side, away from the rumble and tumble, for their sake

still, the party will be an absolute extravaganza. there’s jewels and gold, live music, food and drinks; the entire dorm is turned into a giant party venue, all for them

the guests cheer and sing for kalim’s darling as he leads them on: yes, look at them! aren’t they so pretty in their expensive silk clothes and golden jewelry? he got it all for them; let the world feast their eyes on their beauty!

once the party is over, it doesn’t mean his excitement for the celebration dies down. sure, it’s back to being locked up for his darling- he apologizes as he attaches the chains back to their ankles, asking if they had fun. didn’t they feel like the most beautiful jewel in the world, though?

oh, and the gifts? he didn’t know what to chose, so he just bought everything he thought of- it’s almost enough to make his darling dizzy. they know kalim wouldn’t guilt trip them with what he buys unless they really, really anger him, but... the sight of so many gifts almost makes them dizzy; it’s so much, almost too much 

vil schoenheit

vil’s darling’s birthday is an important celebration- perhaps he’s even more excited than they are

he makes a point to remind them it’s their birthday, lest they have lost track of time in their haze of love potions and other sedatives vil feeds them to keep them docile and loving

as always, he’ll dress them up and to their hair; although he breaks out the fancier, birthday clothes and does a much more dramatic look for them. it’s their special day- they must fit the part, yes?

everyone knows it’s vil’s darling’s birthday; it’s a celebration in Pomefiore. he parades them, showing all the little potatoes how perfect his darling is; aren’t they so beautiful? look at how graceful and obedient they are- how they flourished under his care

if any student thinks that vil’s darling’s eyes are hazy or glazed with the effects of a potion, they don’t speak up. vil’s love potions are expertly brewed; the visual effects are minimal, and besides, nobody would dare to even suggest vil’s “perfect doll” might not be happy.

as with any proper and prim party, there’s ballroom dancing and a proper dinner- it’s everything vil considers to be a perfect celebration

when the party is over, he’ll present his darling with a gift: it’s going to be something he believes suits them. after all, he knows best, doesn’t he? he knows just what they need

idia shroud

idia is nervous about celebrating his darling’s birthday; he’s gonna mess it up, they’re gonna hate him more than usual- he’s full of worries

still, he does his absolute best

cake... he’s quite excited about getting all the sweet things for the party, like candies and stuff. he hopes his darling likes them- he... is very much looking forward to them

the celebration is just going to be him and ortho; who else could he invite? it’s not like he can tell the other ignihyde members to pop by to celebrate the birthday of the person he keeps locked up in his room...

between idia’s awkwardness and his darling not being keen to spend time with their captor, the saving grace is ortho- he’s very excited to celebrate with his big brother’s darling!!

ortho has never completely understood idia and his darling’s dynamic. it felt... too cruel to break it to him about how horrible and fucked up his brother was; to him, who looked up to him so much... even idia’s darling, captive and desperate, doesn’t have the heart to try and open the small robot’s eyes

so it’s ortho’s excitement keeping the celebration together. idia’s darling behaves because it’s clear ortho is just overjoyed at the thought of the party- and... it makes idia giddy to see them behave so well. oh, if only they acted this nice when it was only him and them...

whatever gift his darling receives, they better know it’s probably bugged or has a tracker in it- that’s just in idia’s nature. to always know where they are or what they’re saying; for the rare times he has to leave his room, it’s a big comfort to him to know he’s still in control at all times

malleus draconia

birthday parties... stress malleus out a little. he dislikes the reminder of how quickly time is passing for his darling; the limited number of birthdays they’ll have, and that one is passing by... it’s bitter to him, who wants to clutch onto them forever

still, he’ll try to celebrate as best as he can- which is not much. malleus doesn’t have much experience in birthday parties; he was rarely invited to any, and not many attended his own. the best he knows are the odd parties lilia threw for silver growing up, and even those weren’t quite normal

his darling is getting a break from being locked up in a tower; he’ll take them out, as a treat. it’s nowhere too far- just going to the forest outside of diasomnia for a while, maybe to sing happy birthday and eat some snacks, but to them who’ve been locked in for so long... it’s heaven for a while

of course he takes lilia, silver and sebek with him. not so much so as to celebrate with them, but to make sure nothing goes awry- that his darling doesn’t try to use this chance to escape. it’s not like they could get very far in the thorny forest of diasomnia, but he doesn’t want to take any risks

it’s... a bit odd- it’s very clear malleus has no clue how a normal birthday party works, and lilia’s idea of a party is so antiquated it almost hurts. this kind of celebration is all silver knows to be a normal birthday celebration, and sebek is so focused on making sure malleus darling doesn’t even move an inch away from the picnic blanket he barely relaxes

still... there’s some good intent- although it all feels worthless once the day is over and they’re locked back in the room on the tower, chains restricting their movement. it almost feels like that time spent outside was a dream

malleus’ gift can be anything, really. he just wants to make his darling happy with something he provides- they shouldn’t be too surprised to receive some sort of ancient relic, like a long-gone monarch’s jewelry or crown. after all, they’re malleus’ lover; they deserve all he can give... and if there’s a curse or a binding spell to the gift, that’s for him to keep to himself
