happy lunar new year and year of the dragon! I've wanted to touch up Yari for a while, I thought it would be cool to adjust his flavour as being a living bronze dragon cannon instead of just a statue; I figured that would allow for some cool drawing ideas. He's Grumble's chef!

i colored a drawing from a few months ago of my oc Moses and my bestie's (@muscariii) oc Ernest.

Behold, the six "unique" roles of Stonevale, one of the colonies in Fading Hollow.

I've been thinking about this setting a lot lately, including all the characters. Honestly, I want to make every cat individual under the hood, but that is slowly driving me mad. For now, here are six of them:

Chief Ra'shira - the leader. Aggressive, irritable, but fiercely loyal to kith and kin.

Deputy Haystalk - her second in command and gentle younger brother. He has spent the majority of his adulthood smoothing over the trouble his sister's temper causes

Raven, the Seer - religious leader and second eldest cat in the colony. A grumpy bastard for the ages. The only company he enjoys is Mera and his sister, Blueshell

Mera Yari-tsa - a lifelong queen who has had a paw in raising every litter in the past 50 moons, earning her great respect. The most knowledgeable midwife in the hollow

Acorn - a senior messenger. He won't retire until his former apprentice, Puff, is ready to mentor another cat to take his place

Puff - a young messenger. He seems empty headed and the wrong body type for his position, but he has a fantastic memory and a knack for social situations

Three things I have accomplished with drawing this little pice here:

1. More Babi Halbert.

2. Drawing Speardovich with his hair down.

3. Drawing Yari in anything BUT his uniform.

And I am so happy I took the time to self indulge in these three things! -^^- With my next to days off I planned on catching up on my drawing instead of playing my SMRPG file on The Sims 4- WHICH IS A TAD BROKEN RIGHT NOW SO DEFINETLY NOT DOING THAT... But as for context- Speardovich being a single parent of three was always bound to experience one of many diffrent quirks a baby can have- and Halbert unfortunately can be very fussy most nights. (RIP YARI'S SLEEP SCHEDULE) But really though, I really made Speardovich look really exausted here.

As for why, well- I would like to make a grander lore post about the headcanoned terms workings of them becoming parents and excuse my addiction of giving these people families, but here is it simply ran through below the cut.

However, Weapon Bots can produce new life without a partner in a method known as 'Splinting', its just actually quite dangerous compaired to the normal method. With this the single parent gives their sole halves of their life force and AI, and when cultivated forms a weak but viable child. But true to being born of only one half- the resulting child will be incomplete; feeling empty, and tend to struggle with coping and thriving during their earliest years of life.

Weapon Bots create new children just like their creators would: the creation of new souls and AI's. These two things for sapient mechanical life being formed by the two parents giving one half: their life force and individual data- merging them into one unique whole. The only thing the child needs to be born, and is given per their parent's creators (Smithy in this case)- is a physical body.

One of the biggest signs of a child born by Splinting, is being overly sensitive to the enviroment, overly clingy, or fussy at times of a resting. It is only when they get older do they ever become whole by their own growth.
