A wedding is so different from an engagement. She realizes this when she sees the rush, chaos and nerves of many of the members of that renowned clan. Karen noticed it just that morning when many redheads in different shades began to arrive. She tries not to get nervous, remembering what happened the last time they were visiting.
She does not want to embitter the emotion that is beginning to flood people.
Plus, she knows she’s not the only one, although Mikami hasn’t said anything... it’s a difficult stage that they both have to overcome in their own way. She gulps thickly, scratching her neck; the phantom sensation of that pain begins to make hee anxious.
She sighs again and again clinging to the scrolls in her hands, stopping just as the council leaves the room where Hashirama is. “Good morning,” she greets as etiquette dictates with a solemn and careful touch.
They are not her favorite people, but they must learn to coexist.
“Mmmm...” Tobirama has been the coldest since then, although there is a glow of recognition that almost goes unnoticed since the time of the attack.
He’s not the only one.
“Good morning, Karen-san,” Jenshi replies on behalf of the four surviving councilors. “Meeting?”
“Yes,” the girl says with a flat face.
“What about?” Hantaro is the one who questions with dignity and a harsh tone. She blinks at him.
“A few points to review of some contracts.”
“As always, I imagine you are behind this madness,” Komura accepts with a wrinkle of the nose. The other three remain silent with slight airs of annoyance. It’s the same as when the Uchiha clan thing happened; the talks with the Hyūga and the attempts with the Nara along with two other external clans have them on the verge of collapse.
They are old and although it is difficult to admit, change is not pleasant... especially when you turn enemies into neighbors and allies.
It’s complicated. There is still blood and although people no longer say anything, they remember... She knows it and Karen tends to notice it sometimes.
“Karen?” someone calls from inside. Hashirama leans over the edge of that traditional door with a harsh gesture to the four elders. They remain dignified without any extra comments.
“We shall be taking our leave. Remember our words, Hashirama-sama.” Hantaro gives his word to leave without commenting on anything else on the matter. Karen stands still for a few seconds to release a long sigh.
“Difficult?” the girl mocks entering the meeting room, a traditional one and larger than the one they had in the old house. The furniture is notable, the new smell is almost erased from so much use in recent days, and after a few days from the move, every part of the place still feels new.
Just like back home... Karen can’t help but smile internally about it.
“Somewhat,” the man accepts with a slight snort. “Did you check them?”
“Yeah. Both the Hyuga and Nara have interesting enchange proposals,” the girl relays firmly. “Though there are shinobi terms that I suppose you also noticed.”
“Yes.”
“I see.” Karen stays still in front of that huge desk. Hashirama does the same and it no longer bothers her... although he looks at her with a strangeness and longing that she prefers to ignore. “I don’t understand why you asked me to check them, especially since you are shinobi.”
“They, like us, have people who are not shinobi in essence. I would like them to consider ‘civilian’ missions, although they are not so required, so they can adapt them by joining us in the future.”
“Oh...” Karen sees the point of why she reviews the notes. “They don’t mention any of that.”
“No, it’s something I’ll be proposing.”
“It would be nice if you considered it, along with first aid training.”
“The Naras do not see that viable, considering their techniques.”
“Really?”
“Yes,” the man says mysteriously, leaning against the desk with a light and serious face.
“What is it?” the woman decides to ask, noticing that the topic of the clans that will possibly be joining does not excite him.
“N-nothing.”
“Hashirama, you haven’t jumped with excitement at this,” Karen points out the obvious, moving the scrolls in her hand to focus on what she wants to say. “I know I’m a civilian, but I see that you’re worried about something.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Is it the wedding?”
“No. Kaori-san and Mito... they have everything in order already.”
“Tobirama?”
“He will return tonight.”
“Then?” the girl asks with a serious face.
“Does it worry you?”
“You are my first friend... the only one who would treat me decently back then,” she accepts with a slight honest touch, reminding herself of everything she has experienced in this world. Of course, she does not forget that he almost never appeared in that prison, previously her home, but Karen feels this person was always sincere with her.
In a way she now knows a shinobi shouldn’t be.
Hashirama looks at her for a long time. “Have you ever fallen in love?” he asks in a clear tone, looking at her while seeking something in her eyes. “I know I engaged you to Tobi...”
“Uh... why do you ask?”
“...” The leader of the Senju clan sighs without mentioning anything else. The silence is so uncomfortable that it makes her want to leave this strange atmosphere.
“I... never,” she shrugs. “It was always a waste of time to me, to my work and family.”
“Mph... I don’t know why that doesn’t seem strange coming from you.”
“I don’t know if I should feel offended by that,” the girl rolls her eyes.
“Hasn’t there been someone... that has... loved you?”
“I don’t know. I never showed enough interest in that,” Karen says, disturbed by such a conversation subject. Hashirama doesn’t usually ask about personal stuff, just like Tobirama. Both keep out the topic of her family, interests and so on.
“I see.” Hashirama approaches her. Karen trusts the man who stands a few centimeters away.
“You know you don’t have to be nervous about the wedding, right?” the civilian blinks with a comfortable smile at the man. She doesn’t feel any worries about this approach, but his eyes shine strangely because of her question. “I’m sure Mito is the right one for you, and for the clan,” she adds slowly.
“...” The leader snorts lightly and takes a strand of her hair to play with, with an air that she interprets as friendly. Karen wants to hit his hand but stays still without bothering to get out of his grip, attributing these oddities to nervousness and without seeing the wrong in the actions.
Things that are still not important in her eyes.
“Hashirama?” Madara interrupts with a slight arch between the two.
“Good morning, Madara-san,” Karen greets, not paying attention to the approach and strange behavior of her partner who walks away sadly.
“Am I interrupting something?” the newcomer questions.
“No, your friend is just very nervous,” the civilian says carelessly, handing the scrolls to the blushing Senju leader. “Review them. I made some notes to take into account for the clans.”
“S-sure.”
“Good,” the girl accepts to look at the Uchiha, who stares suspiciously. “Is there something wrong?”
“That’s the same thing I’m wondering,” the one with disheveled hair says with a double tone.
“Huh?”
“It’s better if you go, Karen. I’ll check them and let you know,” the Senju leader states, taking her out and directing her to the door with a shy face. She simply shrugs not minding what happened, nor with enthusiasm to decipher it because it is one of those things that are better left hidden from her understanding.
She is deceiving herself... she notices it but remains silent.
It’s not for the best... at least she left the house without any kind of impediment. She sighs, remembering the newly arrived redheads being escorted to the back of the house where they will be housed.
The wedding will soon be here.
──
Mito is a nervous wreck as the hours begin to end the day. She doesn’t laugh because she is euphoric, giving another check to her clothes, yukata and other things that make her growing anxiety noticeable. She knows this is so different for each bride, so she sighs, entering what is her house and the place where the bride is staying.
Something about being her best friend, which she didn’t know she was classified as.
Karen didn’t even bother.
“How long has she been like this?” the civilian questions Kaori who sighs, watching the girl take another turn around the room where her things are located. The noice is notable when Mito mutters a list with her face focused on each spot in that room.
Her red hair is a mess, and the movement of her mouth is feverish.
She’s never seen a bride like that... or maybe it’s because she’s a shinobi.
She does not know.
“For a while now.”
“You better bring some tea... a relaxing one,” the civilian clearly agrees with the old woman, who blinks.
“Yes?”
“She needs it. Otherwise, I’m sure she won’t sleep, and it will be chaos.”
“But...”
“I know you are shinobis; it is not the same with a civilian... but Mito-san will get more anxious, and that is difficult to hide with makeup. She must sleep and rest.”
“I see,” the assistant accepts calmly, turning on her heels. Mikami is nowhere to be found and that is for the better. It is not the best time, so she remains silent and faces the euphoric kunoichi.
“Mito-san?” She takes a step forward. She doesn’t look at her for a while, walking to where her ribbons rest. “Mito-san?” she calls a second time. “MITO-SAN?!” she shouts just as she is ignored for a longer time. The fine lady stops dead blinking, finally noticing her.
“Karen...” She chuckles sadly. “I apologize, I did not hear you.”
“I noticed,” she accepts with the strangeness of her having lowered her guard. For a kunoichi, she has many dangerous manias, which she sees she controls with finesse. “You should rest.”
“But I still...”
“Everything’s ready.”
“But...”
“Yesterday, you put the ribbons in that silver box. The headdress is in the gray one in the back next to the dresser, along with the yukata,” the civilian recalls calmly. Mito blushes easily.
“I am sorry... for that.”
“Don’t worry. It’s normal for a bride-to-be.”
“Surely Hashirama is not currently like this, right?”
“He’s nervous,” Karen agrees, remembering his strange attitude this morning.
“Really?”
“Yes,” the civilian laughs calmly, sitting in a lotus position at the edge of the room. There are many things lying around that she knows will be used tomorrow. “By the way, where are your assistants?”
“They will arrive tomorrow.”
“On time.”
“Y-yes.” Mito sighs, forcing herself to sit down just when Kaori brings some tea. “Along with my brother and Oto-san.”
“Oh, I thought they would come on the wedding day.”
“No. They want to talk to Hashirama about political matters.”
“I see.”
“Yes.” Mito takes a sip of her drink. “Relaxing?”
“You need to rest and sleep,” Karen states without the guilt of ordering this. “For the bride, it is important to have eight hours of beauty sleep considering that you will be the star of the event.”
Mito laughs lightly. “Thank you... for being my support.”
Karen blinks at that comment. “Don’t mention it. Besides, one of the two has to be the sensitive one.”
“I am a trained kunoichi. This is embarrassing,” the redhead says.
“Even if you are the most trained and strongest one, you are still the future bride. It’s normal to be nervous.”
“Yes,” the Uzumaki accepts. “I... I have waited for this for a long time,” she states again with a light tone, looking at the hanging yukata... so fine and elegant, with light tones and expensive embroidery. “And soon... I shall be a Senju.”
Karen doesn’t say anything because she remembers very well what they have talked about since she arrived and in that first meeting. Her entire world is Hashirama... and deep inside, she thinks that her world is so small. She doesn’t judge her; she knows she loves the Senju leader and it’s noticeable.
She is happy for both of them, and hopes they are happy.
“Oh...” Mito blushes as she remembers something to herself that makes her raise her eyebrow. “I had not thought about the wedding night,” she comments, making her laugh.
“Well, maybe we can have a sleepover. Like a bachelorette party.”
“Bachelo... what?” The woman blinks with an innocent gesture at her comment. Karen laughs. She sees that this will be complicated to explain and prepare for tonight; she just needs help from Mikami... and Kaori. She’s sure they will need to help her.
──
She is leaning against the railing of the house. The noise inside consists of embarrassing talks of women exchanging tips on how to please their future husband. Both Touka and Kaori are versed in the art of flirting and courtship that it has made the interaction so lively... although Mito is still blushing about the whole thing.
Leaving aside resting for today.
She didn’t think that such an infamous woman would be oblivious to what she will have to do to ‘fulfill’ her duty. Plus, this is not well regarded by people outside her small circle of friends. She giggles... this is what bachelorette parties are for.
To clarify doubts and exchange things that may be useful for the future bride.
It was embarrassing at first, considering the traditionalist culture, but it was brought to fruition by the other ladies. She laughs, feeling dizzy from the little sake she has ingested, which is what brought her to go out for air. Bad idea.
Karen feels that her world is moving, causing her to feel vertigo and even looking at the ground... it continues to wobble.
How coarse.
“You should not be out here,” someone calls from her side. She smells a little of antiseptic, which makes her snort slightly. Sighing, she tries to lift her face, but it only makes her dizzier. “Did you drink?”
“No?”
“Karen.”
“Uh... just a little, Tobirama,” she laughs amused at the man with a harsh gesture, making her frown slightly. “Don’t look so angry, I’m fine.”
“Why are you drunk, then?”
“I’m not... just dizzy,” she explains calmly while the man doesn’t take his hands off her arms, sighing. “Welcome home?” She doesn’t know what else to say when the silence becomes long. If she had her mind clear and not focusing on not vomiting, she would question more things... like his presence there and why he is looking at her that way.
“... So careless.”
“It’s not that big of a deal... plus, I haven’t left the house.”
“Did you not learn from last time?”
“Tobirama...” she sighs, wanting to free herself from his sudden grip. “I’ll be fine, I just... needed air.”
“You must go to sleep.”
“I can’t... I have visitors,” she clarifies upon hearing the laughter of the most shameless woman in that small group.
“It is not a request.”
“You can’t just order me around, you know?” the woman complains, but getting out of his grip is difficult. “Can you let me go?”
“No.”
“Tobirama...” The woman frowns, but it is the man who sighs somehow in his dignified bearing. He releases her and she takes a few steps back... being caught by said shinobi before falling in her butt. “Uh...” She feels she is being carried carefully after such a painful action.
“Idiot.”
“Rude...” she growls reluctantly, leaning back when she feels the heat and feeling angry at being treated like a child, but she feels like she will throw up if she keeps fighting. She is drunk, but she still has a little sense... she is not a stubborn drunkard.
That’s good.
“You haven’t bathed,” she complains when she smells the body of the person carrying her. She closes her eyes, a slight hiccup coming out of her mouth while the sound of the girls can still be heard. Haven’t they moved? ...perhaps not.
“...” Tobirama as always ignores her comments.
“Tobirama-sama?” someone calls. Karen would like to open her eyes, but she just sighs without the desire to face whoever is watching such a sorry scene.
“I will take her to bed.”
“A-alright.” That was Mikami’s voice.
Tobirama doesn’t say anything as he keeps walking firmly. She doesn’t hear his steps... she never does, so the silence lulls the girl a little more, until she feels her bed easily.
“Thank you,” she says, oblivious to the type of look she is being subjected to. Karen turns around to grab a small sheet nearby. The shinobi surely gave it to her, but she ripped it out of his hands. She’s cold, she’s dizzy and her eyes burn.
Like that time... but two degrees less painful.
The man just stands there. She doesn’t know if he’s going to stay, but Karen doesn’t know much about anything anymore.
Sleepy.
──
She wakes up the next day with a slight headache and an anxiety for a fresh glass of water. She sighs... she begins walking barefoot, not caring about changing her clothes, when she hears a noise, turning to notice an absent Mikami.
“Uh...” Karen comments right in the hallway. “I’m sorry I didn’t stay until the end,” she says casually with a gesture worthy of someone with a hangover. Her friend laughs.
“Do not worry. You were in good hands,” the woman accepts firmly as they both begin their walk towards the kitchen.
“Mito-san and the others?”
“Touka is still asleep. Mito-sama came out to greet her father and brother.”
“Right, I forgot about the reception.”
“You do not have to worry about it. Mito-san understands that you were not in very good conditions,” her friend laughs amused with a mischievous touch.
“Did I miss something?”
“No... nothing.”
“It feels like I did,” she complains as she enters the kitchen without noticing the way her friend looks at her.
“You know, despite it being a complicated matter... your wedding with Tobirama-sama...” Mikami states as if she was not talking about something curious so early in the morning while preparing some strong tea... that special one that only shinobi know of for hangovers and she learnt about that celebration day with the Uchiha clan. “He takes care of you.”
Karen doesn’t say anything, reminding herself of the night before. “He’s always been like that.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. He thinks I can’t help myself,” she complains, remembering the comments he said. “That I’m stupid.”
“Uh...” Mikami blinks. “Does he say that?”
“Yes,” she shrugs. “It’s annoying... but I think I’m the same,” she laughs amusedly to herself, taking another sip of that drink that is a pleasant invention. It would be a success in her world, being so effective in quenching thirst and headache. At least it would be functional on this busy day.
Mikami laughs. “No one would believe that about the infamous Uchiha Killer.”
“...” Karen blinks at the nickname.
“That was his nickname during the war, before peace,” the kunoichi in front of her explains. “Do not tell him I told you.”
“...Don’t worry,” she shrugs. “Mito-san... how did she like it last night?”
“It was fun,” her friend accepts. “I did not think we could do that.”
“Where I come from it is common, although it is celebrated differently.” Karen remembers the few bachelorettes she went to in the past; all animated, with lottery and those spicy activities typical of those events. Not so scandalous as to bring a stripper, but rather a pleasant routine with friends.
To say goodbye to being single.
“I am glad you suggested it,” the kunoichi laughs. “Mito-sama was very anxious, especially about the topic of the wedding night.”
“I noticed.”
“It is a taboo... fur us to talk about what is expected that night.”
“...” Karen doesn’t say anything.
“What we know are things we learned from the elderly... for ‘that’ type of missions,” she states with a clear and dignified tone. “Not to do it... with our partners.”
“It’s complicated I guess... considering the cultural difference,” Karen says. “But it is important to help the future bride cope with her tension. And what better than with friends?” she chuckles amused at her position.
Mikami laughs just as happily and less tense considering the time that is approaching and the memories that are being relived, focusing on day-to-day conversations and how the workload is increasing. But that will end just when the wedding passes.
She hopes so.
──
Uzumaki Aoki laughs just as she arrives at the meeting room. She can see Madara standing in the background along with Hashirama talking to a serious, newly arrived leader. Uzumaki Ashina is remarkable, which tells her not to interrupt whatever they are talking about.
She only came in because the council told her that they were expecting her.
“Oh, my dear... prettier with every day.” Cheeky as he usually is, the man gives her a light wink, looking enthusiastic as always and giving a soft gesture in her direction.
“Aoki-san,” she greets firmly with a slight bow.
“Leave the –san. I have already told you in my letters,” the boy assures, letting her pass and sit next to him. “By the way, did you like the last gift I gave you?”
“Your family sent me many.”
“Well... I apologize for not being present on your engagement.”
“Not at all. I know you are an important person in Uzu.”
“Nah, still,” the boy calmly assures.
“Karen?” Tobirama questions, entering with a harsh gesture to the one who laughs amusedly next to her. Aoki gives a cheeky wave with a perpetual smile without bothering to leave her side. “Let us talk.”
Karen sighs. It’s surely something about what happened last night. She doesn’t remember much so she doesn’t hesitate to get up. Besides, they have things to check about her new yukatas and the earrings that Kaori claims they must already see. Their wedding with be two months after Hashirama’s.
So, there are many things to prepare.
And they haven’t spoken about it because he was on a mission.
“Wow Tobirama... who would say that you are... protective,” the Uzumaki mocks.
“Do not be a nuisance, Aoki.”
“So serious,” he pouts. “Karen-san, if you need help, don’t hesitate to ask,” he says with a serious tone, giving a warning gesture that she didn’t completely ignore.
“Aoki,” the albino warns.
The Uzumaki laughs shamelessly to turn around and walk to where the other three leaders were looking with varying degrees of strangeness. Karen sighs and frowns at the shinobi.
“What was that for?”
Tobirama, as always, doesn’t say anything and walks outside. She sees Izuna enter with a mocking gesture at who stays on the sidelines of the political issues discussed inside. “Do not say anything,” he growls at him, who lets out a satirical laugh.
They are both strangers in their relationship, but at least she sees that there is a tentative friendship based on sarcasm and bad comments.
One that she had already noticed but is glad it didn’t break during the course.
“Tobirama?” she questions when she is taken out of the room. She huffs because she is sure they needed her for something, which makes her cross her arms with a serious gesture.
“Last night... you drank too much.”
“No?”
“...” The albino arches his eyebrow, not at all surprised.
“I will not discuss something that I made clear last night.”
“Do you remember?”
“A little... fuzzy, but yes.”
“Mph...”
“By the way, where were you going so late?”
“To check on the wedding.”
“Oh... Kaori-san told me that we need to take final measurements and adjustments last week.”
“I see.”
“Also, the food...”
“I will see to it with her.”
“Yes,” she sighs, looking at the tall shinobi. “What?”
Tobirama snorts. “I do not know if you are an idiot or just pretending.”
“What’s that about?”
“Nothing,” the man’s face does not express any discomfort, but it gives him an air of irritation.
“How did your mission go?”
“It does not bother you.”
“We are going to be associates.”
“...” Tobirama frowns at the nickname he doesn’t like, but he doesn't care to correct it.
“I will be your wife. At least put some consideration in your words.”
“I will not tell you anything.”
“At least a ‘good’, ‘more or less’, ‘bad’...” she shrugs. “We will be husband and wife. I already don’t ask for too much because you are very reluctant to share something with me,” she complains.
“It is a bother.”
“Maybe, but you’ll be stuck with me during this time,” she admits with a solemn gesture and a contrary feeling, because saying it out loud is uncomfortable. She didn’t think she’d feel that way, but it’s better to clarify this now that there’s a chance. “It would be nice to be friends...”
“...” Tobirama frowns irritated, which surpriseds her.
“Is there something wrong?” The people around her are acting weird, and Karen just asks directly because she feels like she’s missing something.
“No, nothing.”
“Mmmmm... Tobirama.”
“I will not talk to you about it.”
“You have to talk,” Karen presses her lips, but it is her partner’s gesture that makes her snort. “Fine, whenever you want.”
“Karen?” Tobirama stops her escape before letting out a long sigh to walk next to her. The civilian does not say anything but continues with her bad mood for a little while before re-entering. Saying that her fiancé did not leave her side is strange.
For the entire meeting, he was her shadow.
Karen really... didn’t know how to interpret it.
Progress? She doesn’t know.
──
He is protective, she notices as the days go by and the work increases. The Hyuga clan has agreed to the terms and will begin visiting them a week after Hashirama’s wedding, so she is working with a shadow next to her sitting on the edge of the patio with a concentrated gesture.
They both don’t speak to each other, working on their own thing.
“Karen,” the shinobi says harshly.
“Hmm?”
“Did you review the entry numbers?”
“Yes, I just finished them,” she points to a scroll next to her.
“I will take them.”
“I can do it...”
The shinobi, as always, does not listen to her.
“I also have to take Madara-san's report.”
“I will take them.”
“I’ll go,” the girl sighs, looking at them with a firm arch. “What is it?” She is direct.
“Nothing.”
“You have been like my shadow, and I am sure you would prevent me from leaving the house.”
“The wedding is tomorrow.”
“I know.”
“Hashirama needs to deliver this quickly for his days off.”
“Oh...” Karen sees the logic. “Well... then, I’ll go alone with Madara-san.”
“I will also deliver it.”
“You have enough work for you to be doing this. I’ll hand over those at the Uchihas.”
“Karen.”
“Tobirama.”
“Mmmm...” The man frowns.
“I am no longer your prisoner,” she reminds the person who purses his lips with a harsh gesture.
“Do what you want...”
“Good,” she easily accepts, not guilty of using that mistake to her advantage, getting up just to take said scrolls and go discuss the points still pending with Madara.
“Are you going now?”
“Yeah.”
“Were you not working?”
“I can leave it for now. This is actually urgent,” she says with a quick shrug. “And since you will help me deliver Hashirama’s stuff, it is better that I at least finish this and focus on the rest, right?”
Tobirama does not frown, but she can see a slight wrinkle between his eyebrows. “Mph...” He ignores her to concentrate on his own work. She sighs because she does not know what strange thoughts are going through his mind. It was better to continue with her things.
And to finish on time. At least he didn’t offer to take her... because she’s sure he has too much work.
A point in her favor.
──
The Uchiha compound has a different air to the Senju clan. Its houses are made of wood with a more rustic, traditional touch than the ones presented by her usual home. Elegant in its own way. It is usually silent with several children staring at her shamelessly.
“Karen-san,” someone calls behind her. Izuna, her usual companion within the walls, gives her a formal greeting.
“Good morning.”
“The idiot?” he questions, not seeing the usual shadow around her.
“He has a lot of work,” she shrugs.
“Oh...” The Uchiha laughs amused. “Are you coming to see my brother?”
“Yes, I’m just here to deliver this.”
“Right now, he is in a meeting in the neutral building,” Izuna states with a soft gesture. “Didn’t the guards tell you?”
“No.”
“Mmmm...” Izuna looks upset. “If you want, I’ll hand them over.”
“Oh, I wanted to explain some things to him.”
“If he needs something, he will look for you.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“I see.” She shrugs at how easily this task is solved. Izuna only gives her a light look. “What is it?”
“Emmmm... he hasn’t talked to you?”
“He?”
“Hashirama.”
“No? ...I haven’t seen him since the leaders of the Uzumaki clan arrived.”
“I see.”
“Did something happen?”
“Nothing happened,” the infamous Uchiha laughs, hiding his interest to turn on his heels and direct her to the exit. “The idiot?”
“No.”
“I see.”
“...Izuna-san?”
“I imagine that you are only limited to going to the neutral building, right?”
“Uh... well, they’ve had a lot of work and Tobirama says they need everything urgently.”
Izuna chuckles amused. “Those morons.”
“?”
“Nah, don’t worry... I think things are tense because of the wedding.”
“Yes, everyone is nervous.”
“Uh-huh,” the man agrees to stop at the door. “You better go to the Senju clan. We don’t want your boyfriend to get angry.”
Karen does not say anything to the tone used. She walks a little further to stop right on the cobblestone path that leads to the neutral office. The one in which both leaders work hard and that she is sure, now that more clans will be added, will be needing to increase the number of its floors.
She sighs... she doesn’t know what to think about all this attitude, but she stays silent. She doesn’t want to figure it out. Maybe it’s a shinobi matter that they don’t want to share, right?
──
It is at dawn that she feels someone enter her bedroom. She sighs in alarm just to see an absent shadow at the edge of her room. “Tobirama?” she asks, recognizing him even in the shadows of her room illuminated by the full moon.
He doesn’t say anything. “Did I wake you up?”
“Uh... yes,” she accepts with a long yawn. “What are you doing here?”
“...Sleep,” he deflects her question with a firm order.
Karen looks at him with strangeness and a solemn arch. “Tobirama.”
“Everything is alright,” the man assures, leaning against the edge of her room with an indifferent look, as if he were the guardian of something far from her understanding.
“This whole week you’ve been acting strange, you know?” she says, taking note of what he has been doing during this time.
“...”
“It would be nice if you trusted me... even if it’s just that.”
“It is not something that concerns you.”
She snorts indignantly at his attitude. “Are you running away from someone?”
“No.”
“Kaori-san told me that you changed many things about the wedding.”
The albino looks at her. “Just some things.”
Karen sighs without turning to look away. “Are we under attack?”
“No.”
“Tobirama.”
“Just sleep...”
“You’re in my room... you came in at midnight... do you think I’ll let it slide?”
“Do not ask.”
“Shinobi stuff?”
“Yes.”
“Mmmmm...” Karen doesn’t believe him, but she sees that the man is an iceberg trained not to share any of his information. “Well... I’ll pretend that I believe you,” she comments while yawning.
“...” Tobirama doesn’t say anything. However, he remains in his position expectantly. Karen did not know what time she fell asleep, unaware that there was an argument shortly after outside her house. Hashirama was sad... upset by what his heart may feel and Tobirama was there as a guardian, to ensure that he did not do something stupid whereas the focus of attention was just asleep, without paying attention to his interests.
One thing that can be misunderstood... or not?
And so, the awaited day arrived outside of the personal feelings of those involved, of the unusual tensions of a confused groom, while the woman causing his confusion... is completely oblivious to any hint that she could perceive or small actions that could be confused with an interest beyond friendship.
The wedding took place... and with it comes change.
Tumblr media
A/N: A chapter before the wedding!! As you saw, our OC is oblivious to anything because she is very good at playing blind and not paying attention to certain interests. She may be older, but there are issues that are complicated for the civilian to deal with... Love being one of them.
And she is shameless about it. Tobirama is a guardian and has seen his brother’s interest and the confusion that grows with the approach of the wedding... not being noticed by Karen, but by those closest to him (Izuna and Madara). The latter would have mocked him if Hashirama wasn’t so volatile (something he hadn’t seen in his always boisterous friend.) Plus, he gave scandalous suggestions to the Senju about it (how to run away and not exactly with his official fiancée).
Tobirama is the voice of reason in this, so he just stands firm by his fiancée’s side, guarding his real interest and what is beginning to become stronger in his heart... grateful that the woman is oblivous to everything that is happening. Not because she is stupid, but because of her own interest in things outside of romance and that his brother is loyal to the affairs of the village and what it would cause if he broke up with Mito.
The self-sacrifice that means for the leader of the clan, even if his heart is in the way, without fully declaring himself... Hashirama is in love, but not with Mito :s
Karen just doesn’t want to look any further.
Thanks for your comments.

Epic
This is Kinda Dumb
MadaTobi reincarnation soulmates AU that nobody asked for.
It turns out that having the entirety of a former life shoved into your brain in the matter of seconds hurts like a bitch, Tobirama thinks.  (And no, he will not feel guilty for cursing in his own mind.  Nii-san can't hear him.)
He presses the ice pack harder against his aching head and eyes.  It's bad enough that his eyes are light sensitive on a normal day, and now with the raging migraine it's even worse.  Everything looks like a high saturation filter has been put over it alongside occasional rainbows.
"Here," a rough voice says.  It shoves something into his free hand and forces his fingers to close around it.  "My mom says that sugar and caffeine help with bad headaches.  They didn't have any soda so I got you a candy bar."
Uchiha Madara is three years older than Tobirama, making him the amazing age of thirteen to Tobirama's ten.  He is also one of the new kids in school.
Hashirama had wanted Tobirama to meet his new friend who just moved in and now he was in the nurse's office.  Of course.  Nii-san was the root of most of his problems.
In this life, and, apparently, his last.
"Thanks," he says.  "Can you talk quieter?"
"Oh," Madara says and Tobirama can hear him rustling around.  "Yeah.  Sorry."
The silence between them is awkward.  Tobirama leaves the ice pack lying on his face and fumbles open the candy bar.  The chocolate is oversweet on his tongue and he's not sure it helps but… it does make him feel a bit better anyway.
Madara clears his throat and Tobirama can hear him rustling around again.  Tobirama realizes that he's fidgeting.  "So…."
"I hate you," Tobirama says.
Madara sucks in a breath and in the smallest voice Tobirama has ever heard, says, "Okay."
Tobirama flaps his candy bar at him.  "Stop.  I mean I hate you for not getting a headache."
The laugh he gets is worth it, and Tobirama smiles under the cold press of his ice pack.  "I did," Madara confesses.  "Just not as bad I guess."  There's another pause and then:  "Glad you don't hate me for being the epic villain anyway."
Tobirama snorts and moves his ice pack aside so he can squint blearily at Madara's blurry form out of one eye.  "Drama queen."
"Hey, I had a great motivation!"  Tobirama winces at the volume and Madara immediately looks contrite.  "Sorry," Madara says much more quietly.  "...But you gotta admit that being badass magical ninja is a pretty cool former life.  Even if it sucked big time."
Madara leans back on the plastic chair he's perched in, pressing against the back and Tobirama watches him for a second before humming in agreement.  It was like something out of a TV show or a movie.  He wondered if Hashirama would remember the same life or if he'd lived something in between— a world where Tobirama wasn't, or maybe Tobirama never met Madara in that life.
Whatever.
"If Izuna keeps making fun of my glasses," Tobirama says.  "I'm going to fight him."  New kid or not Uchiha Izuna was an ass and Tobirama was absolutely going to throw hands even if it meant getting detention.
Detention was just extra homework time without trying to hide from Dad anyway.
Madara makes a soft noise.  "I'll tell him to knock it off or I'll noogie him until he can't stand," he says with all the vindictive love of an elder brother annoyed by his younger sibling.  "You're my soulmate so he better get used to it and stop being a brat."
Tobirama's chest feels warm and fuzzy.  He realizes he's smiling again.  "Okay," he says.
That sounded good to him.

I posted this on Discord first...I'll try to copy most of the other members who gave their delightful two cents..
MadaTobi somehow a snippet that turn to mini RP.
Tobirama striding inside the newly constructed Ninja Academy made the teachers and the Principal nervous. What could the Senju Heir would want in their little school?.
Tobirama walking inside the last room in the second floor made the gaping witnesses shuddered. They threw a silent goodluck to the Sensei assigned at that room.
The Nin instructor stuttered as she saw Tobirama step inside her classroom.
Tobirama: " Good afternoon. "
Teacher: " Ah, Good afternoon, Senju–san?. Do you need me for anything?. "
Tobirama: " No. I am here as Uchiha Kagami's substitute parent. "
Teacher: " Uhhh, give me a moment. "
She side eye the Uchiha child who look giddy in his seat seeing the Senju Heir standing inside their room. She gave the man a paper ( that would outline her lessons for today ) and gestured for him to sit at the back of the room where the other parents are. She silently muttered a goodluck to the nervous parents that eyed the Senju Heir.
As soon as she opens her mouth to start her lessons. She choked in her words when the Uchiha Madara jump into the room and starts screaming at the stoic Albino who sat docile in his seat.
Madara: " How dare you try to stand in as Kagami's parent!. He doesn't need you here, Senju. Get out! I'm the one he needs in here, not you!. "
Tobirama: ignores the screaming Uchiha Clan Head, looks at Kagami's direction and asks " Do you not want me here, Kagami–kun?. Would you like your Clan Head to be your stand in, in this conference?. "
Kagami: shakes his head in denial " NO!. I want Tobi–Sensei here not Madara–Shishō!. "
Madara: felt instantly dejected " Buut...why would you want him of all people here!..."
Kagami: tilts his head cutely " Because I don't have a Mama anymore and Tobi–Sensei is like a lot like my Mama. He cares for me like a Mama does!. "
Madara, the teacher and the other parents stares dumbfounded at the gently smiling Senju Heir.
( Their reactions are like that because they saw Tobirama shining...)
Rough sketch Fanart for this snippet..
Tumblr media
Grimnyr: Kagami probably fawning too with that look!
~●~●~
Eris: Kagami definitely looks at his sensei twice.
Senju Tobirama having the Uchiha Clan wrapped around his long elegant finger:
~●~●~
Me: Amen to that.
My art lines are shit because I'm supposed to be sleeping now but that will have to wait. I need to fucking finish *Who made me a Princess manhwa*. 😅
~●~●~
Eris: I love the eye and cheekbone lines though. He looks so soft.
~●~●~
Commander_Chew: "Senju, where the hell do those sparkles come from????"
~●~●~
Me: The teacher and the parents: " You have seen the sparkles, Uchiha–sama?." *astonished and relieved that they're not alone in seeing things*
Tobirama: " What the hell are you talking about, Uchiha?!. " *glowers darkly at Madara*
~●~●~
Eris: “Is he high again?”
“What so you mean high? I have never been high in my entire life!”
“No no, I think we’re collectively hallucinating.”
*besotted looks all over*
“What is going on?”
“I think Tobirama put us into a genjutsu.”
~●~●~
Commander_Chew: " I most certainly did not. If I did, you'd shut up. "
~●~●~
Me: Kagami piping up: But...Sensei said he's not really good at Genjutsu?. *confused puppy look*
~●~●~
Eris: “I think he pulled another justu out of his ass and this is result. Sparkles no jutsu is scary.”
“Sparkles… no jutsu?”
“Yeah. That’s the shit you have around your face right now. It makes you even look pretty.”
..........
“I need a drink.”
“I think we all need one.”
~●~●~
Me: I can easily imagine Madara complaining to Izuna that Tobirama invented a new jutsu and its making him distracted so much...🤣😂
~●~●~
Eris: He’s like: “I can’t work. He swings back and forth with that stupid face in his stupid fitted clothes and I have to pretend that nothing is going on when I end up bumping into walls? He has performed a subtle genjutsu and he’s fucking with my head. I know!”
And Izuna looks at him because he has it *so bad*
~●~●~
Commander_Chew: Izuna: That's not a jutsu. Looks like your sight is back to normal
~●~●~
Eris: “What do you mean *normal*?!”
“Exactly what I said. He always looks like that. You just had ham plastered all over your eyes this entire time.”
“Do you know how many people here have a crush on him? Every single one. Every single person you ask, has, had or will have a crush on the Senju. You’re not immune.”
Madara proceeds to stubbornly deny as he blushes thinking about how pretty Tobirama’s hands are.
~●~●~
Commander_Chew: Madara is instantly suspicious
"You... even you?"
"Have you ever heard him speak?"
~●~●~
Me: Because Izuna only wave away Madara’s concerns. He desperately went complaining to Hashirama.
Madara: kicks the door open to the Hokage's office Oi, tree brain!. I need you to command your goddamn brother to stop using Genjutsu on me!.
Hashirama: surprised at his bestfriend's entrance* What did Tobirama do this time?.
Madara: I saw him sparkling!!! kicks a chair away
Hashirama: Spark— Ohhhhh....you saw Tobi smiling did you?
Madara: and what of it?...still fuming
Hashirama: That's not a Genjutsu my friend. We really don't know what it is but the sparkles, bubbles and hearts only pops out when Tobi smiles genuinely!.
Madara: dumbfounded again
~●~●~
Commander_Chew: (that's why Madara wanted to leave Konoha - at least go on vacation - because he felt like everyone was trolling him)
~●~●~
Eris: “Oh lord, he has got the treebrain too!. Fuck, this is a conspiracy!.”
Hashirama, laughing: “You’re not the first one to think that. But it’s just his natural appeal! You’ll get used to it in no time my friend.”
*four months later*
“Why the fuck are there still sparkles floating around?”
“I think you’ve got a problem there, buddy.”
“Only one?”
Yeah, this is one of a Hell of a snippet...😆😅

The Edo Tensei we all need - Indra
Izuna loves to play with Tobirama's scrolls just to make him mad. Indra is an alcoholic.
Tumblr media
Fuck.... He hasn’t felt this tired since... since... since...
Yeah, it’s hard to even remember.
What happened last night? Indra wonders as he scratches his long hair and dusts it off.
How did I end up on the floor?
No news that the most fearsome villain on earth has an unbridled passion for alcohol, but he can’t seem to recall the last time he was so drunk as to end up like this. Maybe when he finally assassinated Ashura?
Who knows...
Indra gets up from the ground as several joints pop, feeling as if he spent millions of years sleeping in a tomb. His head hurts and his eyes barely stay open, an icy hand goes to his temple trying to calm a throbbing sensation that has been attacking the area since returning to consciousness.
He shakes his robe and eliminates all the dirt he has on him. Where did he go to wind up like this? What exactly happened last night? As he activates his Sharingan and scans his surroundings, he realizes he’s in a room he doesn’t recognize.
Yes, when he fled and travel the world to end up murdering his younger brother, the Otsutsuki took his time before deciding where to live. But once he did, he chose the largest palace he could find, filled with so many rooms that he didn’t even have the heart to walk through them.
It was not uncommon to wake up in an unfamiliar space, full of furniture he had never seen before and peculiar scrolls. Indra doesn’t even know how much furniture his house has, nor does he plan to find out.
With no concern other than his aching head, he walks to the door and exits, kicking over some candles placed oddly on the floor as he passes. How strange... he really hopes he recorded with his eyes whatever it was he did last night because he can’t remember anything. Absolutely nothing.
As he leaves the room, he finds himself in a... peculiar setting.
This doesn’t look like his palace.
He walks down the corridor, leaning against the walls and looking for support, fighting what he considers being the strongest hangover he has ever experienced. Loud sounds of voices booming in a nearby room reach his ears, and he hopes he doesn’t have to fight anyone because that would be a great annoyance.
At least in this state. Especially not knowing what happened last night.
His feet drag heavily as occasional grunts are born from his lips, squeezing his forehead with a hand too cold to be natural, trying to seek relief.
Finally he reaches the door from where the noises are originating and slides it open carelessly, causing all eyes to fall on him instantly. The laughter dies without anticipation, conversation dries up and suddenly everyone pales.
Tobirama Senju speaks first.
“Izuna... did you... sneak inside my laboratory... again?”
A thin, unsure voice answers, as Izuna Uchiha tries to hide behind his brother, seeking protection from the male newcomer everyone is watching.
“N-No! Of course not!...”
Indra Otsutsuki looks at them all in disbelief, not acknowledging any of the four faces present in that room. He holds on to the door frame with effort, struggling not to fall to his knees in the face of such insignificant presences.
Until suddenly, a certain chakra signature makes his blood boil, not giving him a second to think clearly.
“Ashura... Ashura!”
Hashirama Senju is on the verge of tears, holding the sleeve of his younger brother’s yukata too tightly for him to be the one who is called Hokage.
But before the chaos explodes, it is Madara Uchiha who jumps to the rescue, standing in front of Indra and bowing his head in respect.
“Grandfather, that’s enough! Tobirama... Who gave you permission to experiment with my family’s graves?!”

Thinking about the Uchihas agreeing to an alliance because they’re tired and they wanna stop fighting and they just want peace
Thinking about how a Senju was their first hokage
Thinking about how their second hokage was another Senju
Thinking about how that Senju was the brother of the first instead of someone in the next generation that could help the village progress
Thinking about Tobirama insisting they’re cursed with hatred while he’s the one so full of hatred that he does everything he can to make their time in the village (that was made by both the Senu and Uchiha) suck
Thinking about how the third hokage was the student of the second hokage and he apparently believed the Uchiha were so far beyond redemption that he allowed them to be massacred
Thinking about how so many of the Uchiha we know about just wanted peace and for their loved ones to be safe
Thinking about how the last full blooded Uchiha doesn’t feel safe and happy in the village his ancestors made to keep him and the other Uchiha safe because all that village has done has hurt him and how that’s villainized
Thinking about how the most tragic part of Hashirama and Madara’s friendship is that for all Hashirama loved Madara and wanted to help the Uchiha, they would’ve been in a much better place if it wasn’t for him trying to force peace

Where I Belong
Chapter 1- Innocence
Story Summary- Imagine if you were the one who met Madara instead of Hashirama as kids. How would things unfold amidst the war? What if you were the one Madara fell in love with, despite both of your clans being at war with each other? Things only get messy and complicated when you learn that it’s not just Madara who likes you, who wants you. What would you do when the younger brother of the head of the Senju clan is also head over heels for you? ********
Link to the next part- Part 2. Part 3.
******* “Just tell me where you’re headed so at least I would be aware of your whereabouts Y/N! You know it isn’t safe to wander off alone!” Hashirama kept persisting, following you out of his house.
--Flashback--
“Why the hell can’t you be more like Hashirama Y/N?!” Your father yells, slamming his cup down on the table. “Well, there is no need for being so harsh on her. After all she is younger than him.” Butsuma says, trying to diffuse the situation. “Well, Tobirama is younger than Hashirama too, but look at him!” Your father sneers, continuing to berate you. It’s enraging but there’s only so much you can do. No matter how strong you get, he’ll always find a way to compare you with the Senju brothers and nitpick every god damn thing. Butsuma Senju and your father had some important strategy to discuss after the recent betrayal by one of your clan members. You don’t know why you even agreed to come with your father at Hashirama’s place. You knew it would end up in your father comparing you to the Senju brothers. Taking a deep breath to push down the anger bubbling up inside you, you stand up from your seat. Your father pauses looking at you, the room growing quiet, all eyes trained on you. “Y/N! Ignore him…” Hashirama whispers from his seat beside you, earning a glare from Butsuma Senju. “Excuse me everyone.” You say monotonously, turning on your heels and walking towards the door. “Yeah that’s right. Run away like always Y/N. That’s all you can ever do. If you weren’t weak like this, your mother would’ve still been alive!” Your father spits out at you. That’s it. That was the final straw. “Well, at least I tried to save mother. I ran, not to save myself. I ran to get some aid for mother. I did everything in my power. What did YOU do father?” You snap turning around to face him. “Mother died because YOU couldn’t get your drunk self out of debt. Stop pushing your shortcomings as a husband, as a father, on ME.” You clench your fists, ready to punch the living shit out of him. “What did you just say to me?” Your father yells, hurling the cup at you, which you easily dodge. “What? Hurts to hear the truth, father?” You say, starting to focus your wind style chakra in your hand, you hadn’t perfected it, but it was still deadly enough. Before either of you could say or do anything, Hashirama jumps between the two of you. “Okay, okay! We need to calm down here! We’re not at war with each other. Remember?” He says chuckling nervously, waving his hands in front of him. “Come back and sit down Y/N. Don’t embarrass me anymore than you already have.” Your father says. “Go to hell for all I care, FATHER” you say, turning back on your heels walking out of the room, slamming the door behind you. Butsuma looks at Hashirama, and he nods, almost as if they can communicate with each other via a single glance.
--End of Flashback--
And that was it. Hashirama has been following you for the past 30 minutes. Trying to get you to talk with him. More like, tell him where you were going if you wanted to be left alone. “Just tell me where you’re headed so at least I would be aware of your whereabouts Y/N! You know it isn’t safe to wander off alone!” Hashirama persists “Come on Hashi! Don’t treat me like a kid!” You say, annoyed at this persistent young man. “But you ARE a kid Y/N! I’m just looking out for you!” Hashirama says, running in front of you blocking your path. You stop in your tracks, folding your arms over your chest. “Stop talking like you’re 60 Hashi. You’re not much older than me. So, that makes YOU a kid too.” You say glaring at him Hashirama crosses his arms over his chest and glares right back at you. Both of you practically in a stare-down right in the middle of the road. And Hashirama has been over-protective, and overbearing to say the least, over Tobirama, Itama and you after Kawarama's death. You sigh in annoyance when Hashirama doesn’t budge. “Can’t you just leave me be? God! I’m a Kunoichi, just as you are a Shinobi. I can fend for myself if need be!” you say annoyed as you push past him. “Just tell me where you’re going and I’ll leave you alone!” He says trailing behind you “No, you won’t. You’ll just discretely follow me. Am I wrong?” you question him, continuing to walk down the road. “Well… N-“ “Don’t you dare lie to me!” you snap at him. “B-but… I know you're closer to Tobirama, but he isn't here right now and he asked me to look after you Y/N-chan. I'm just trying my best...” Great. You turn around to see him crouched down in the middle of the street, all depressed and sad. “Just, leave me alone okay? No need to be so dramatic Hashi…” you say sighing. “Will you stop calling me that?” He says looking up at you. “Uh… leave me alone and I’ll think about it…” “You know I can’t let you wander off alone…” “Why not? You let Tobi wander off alone all the time. And don’t even try and justify it! You know I’m stronger than Tobi!” Hashirama sighs getting up. “You and your nicknames... But, fine. Meet me near Mr. Igakima’s shop by sun set. If father learns that I let you wander off alone, he’ll kill me…” “Okay promise! Thanks, Hashi!” You say smiling, turning around and disappearing out of his view with only a couple of long jumps. And all that ordeal has now brought you here, just walking down the river bank. It’s serene and peaceful. It was your safe haven. You climb up on one of the trees near the river bank, sitting at your usual spot on one of the huge branch, leaning back on the tree bark, closing your eyes, just enjoying the silence. Your peace was interrupted when you hear a voice just a few feet in front of you. You were so pre-occupied with all the thoughts in your head that you failed to notice someone else near the river bank. Stupid you. Had it been an enemy you would’ve been as good as dead right now. You peer over all the branches you were hidden behind, looking at the direction of the voice, only to notice a raven-haired boy. His back was towards you. Meaning it is highly possible that he walked past the tree you’re currently hiding on. You reach for the Kunai that you have hidden under your sleeve. You don’t know who this boy is. He may or may not be an enemy. But if he is, you don’t know how skilled he is. He might as well be able to kill you in- Your train of thoughts was interrupted when he bent down to pick up a small pebble, and throwing it in a way to make it bounce off the surface of the water, only to sink before it could reach to the other side. You could hear him huff out in disappointment and annoyance at his failed attempt. You almost laugh out at his reaction, watching his failed attempts two more times and before your mind would convince you otherwise at the idea of approaching this stranger, you were standing a few feet behind him, a pebble in your hand. You watch him grab another pebble off the river bank, giving
himself a word of assurance. “This time… I’ll reach the other side!”
He sounded… determined
But before he could throw the rock, you take your stance, releasing the pebble in your hand in a slight angle and enough force for it to reach the other side. “Annnnd bull’s-eye!” You say, punching the air feeling triumphant. The raven-haired boy turns his head to peek over his shoulder, almost startled when he’s met with the sight of your fist in the air, a huge smile plastered on your adorable little face. “Just aim it a little higher than you’d expect! That’s the trick!” You say grinning, your left eye closing in a cute wink. The boy turns around to face you, his lips turned into the smallest frown. “Yeah I know. It’ll get there. If I simply put my all into it.” He says in a sassy tone. “Who the hell are you anyway?” “Right now? I’m just your stone skipping rival…” You say grinning at him. You are certain that you almost saw a pout form on his lips, which just encouraged you to say your next words. “...But my stone is already... on the other side..." You say with a cocky grin which just seems to vex the spiky raven-haired boy. "Answer me! I asked you who you are!" he says, his voice rising a few octaves. "First name's Y/N! Sheesh no need to get all riled up!" You say laughing, finding pure amusement in the stranger's exasperation. "Y/N huh? Just watch me!" He says, turning around and throwing the rock. "The way he throws... just like I thought... Shuriken Jutsu!" You think to yourself. There's no doubt that he's a young shinobi just like you. You watch as his rock sinks in the river before it could reach the other side and you couldn't help but giggle at his failed attempt. The stranger just turns around all red-faced and embarrassed, "WHY YOU!!" He almost shrieks. But before he could get in any more words, you hear Hashi's voice call out to you. "There you are! We need to get back!" Hashi says as he runs up to you. "Dad is almost done with his work and he needs to talk-" Hashirama stops mid-sentence when he seems to "notice" the strange boy standing just a few feet away. "Oh I didn't see you there..." Hashirama says, smiling at the boy. "Hashi!" you scold him at how rude he might've sounded. "Sorry! I'm Hashirama!" Hashirama says taking a step in front you know. You know this move. He thinks the stranger is threat to you. Did he too notice the way this boy was throwing the rocks and realised that he must be shinobi too? "Hashirama huh? And she calls you Hashi?..." You could hear the hesitance and awkwardness in his voice when he asked that. Hearing someone being called by silly nicknames like this seemed so very... odd. He looks away when he hears a snicker come from Hashirama. "DON'T LAUGH!" You yell out before Hashirama could reply, which just made Hashirama crack up even more. "She just happens to have a knack for giving everyone she meets a nickname" Hashirama says laughing, turning around to smack you across your head playfully. "This is why I asked you to stop calling me that!" Hashirama says. "And I told you that I would think about it... HASHI!" Before Hashirama could retort, your attention was caught by a body flowing down stream, which made you gasp. Both of the young men turn to see what caught your attention only to be taken aback a bit. You sprint towards the body, focusing your chakra at the soles of your feet to help you walk on the surface of the water, you bend down to examine the body, only to notice the crest on the fallen soldier's armour. The Hagoromo Clan. Hashirama runs up beside you, and you look at him knowingly. "Are you two... Shinobis...?" The raven-haired stranger asks with a hint of reluctance. "This place will become a battle field. Go home now." You say standing up and turning around to face the stranger. "Sorry but we have to go..." Hashirama says, standing up and jumping over to the opposite side of the river. You turn around and jump, following Hashirama. "Later... Oh... um..." You say turning to face the stranger. You never got to get his name. "First name's Madara" He says with the same grin that you had when you first introduced yourself
to him.
“Not offering one's family name to a stranger... a shinobi law right?" Madara continues, glancing between you and Hashirama. "I thought so. You're a shinobi too" Hashirama says, glancing at Madara, full of suspicion. The two glare at each other, almost as if they knew they belong to each others' "enemy" clan. Both of them turn around, almost as if they had rehearsed to move at the same time. "Later... Madara..." You say before turning around and following Hashi.
—Brief Time Skip— "This is exactly why I didn't want to leave you alone" Hashirama says after a few minutes of both of you jumping from one tree branch to another. "And you didn't. You followed me. And for the record, I was not in danger Hashi. If something were to happen I would've handled myself. I'm a Kun-" "Kunoichi. I know. But that’s all the more reason for you to be careful Y/N. You cannot be so careless just because you’re a Kunoichi. No matter how strong or talented you are," Hashirama says, stopping on one of the tree branches, turning around to face you. You stop on one of the branches, sighing as you look away, avoiding his gaze. You knew there's truth to Hashi's words. Even if you don't agree with it completely. "You know what happened with Kawarama. How can you be so reckless after that Y/N? Do you even know what being a shinobi means Y/N?" Hashirama questions after a few moments of silence. "Yes Hashi, I know. But I am not your brother either. He may not have been related to me by blood, but I still saw him as my little brother. His death has hurt me deeply too. Even if I may not show it. All of you are like family to me. But is this all it means to be a shinobi?" You say turning your gaze towards Hashirama. "Fearing to tell your family name to strangers. That's what the shinobi world, and what being a shinobi has brought us Hashi. I may not fully understand what it means to be a shinobi right now, but I damn well know that Kawarama didn't deserve to die. Neither did the countless little kids, regardless of their family names, Uchiha or Senju. I know you're just trying to look out for us but we're not as helpless or weak as you might think we are," You say, jumping over on the branch Hashirama was standing on. "Look at us. We're kids. Being forced into wars because of some stupid downfall as a result of egos clashing between our ancestors. I don't know about you, but this isn't the type of world I would be proud of living in. No kid deserves to have their innocence ripped away from them because of their ancestors' doings." Hashirama falls silent after processing your words. "But tell you what Hashi, I'm gonna grow up to be the strongest Kunoichi and bring an end to this war. Make sure that the kids who get to see the world after me would get to keep their innocence just a little longer than we could..." You say with determination. He looks at you after a moment with a small smile on his face. "I see why Tobirama likes to spend time with you instead of me... even though both of your personalities are polar opposites! I suppose he finds a certain kinship towards you" Hashirama says ruffling your hair. "Oh Tobi just acts tough! You know he is a big softie on the inside!" you say laughing. "Soft only towards you! He'd KILL if anyone else were to call him Tobi! Even his own god damn brother!" Hashirama says with a pout which makes you giggle. "Such a huge drama queen!" You watch Hashirama laugh at your comment and wonder how it would've been like if you were not raised amidst the war. Oh well, Innocence once lost, cannot be regained I suppose. ******** AH! This is my very first attempt at a series like this! I hope it wasn't too disappointing
I will be posting a new part within 3-7 days. I'll try to keep the intervals consistent.
I apologise for all the grammatical or/ and spelling errors as sometime I do not proof read my work!

Mrs. Haruno Sakura
"I think Senju Sakura has a nice ring to it." Hashirama announces suddenly, fingers steepled under his chin as he stares at his counterparts in seriousness. Tobirama nods. "Yes. Naturally, she would be my wife as you're supposed to marry Mito-san, anija." his brother sends him a withering look which he serenely ignores.
Mito curls her lip, eyes flashing. "Hell no. Uzumaki Sakura sounds way better. Her hair and temper are more than enough for her to blend in already. You dirty little baboons better keep your paws off her."
Izuna slams his hand on the table, earning three annoyed glares. His brother is leaning in his chair cooly, observing the happenings with disinterest. "I say that Uchiha Sakura sounds the best. We're the ones who found her first anyway, so it's only natural she marries either nii-san or me."
Mito scoffs derisively, rolling her pretty navy eyes, "Yeah you may have found her, but guess who she first ran to for comfort?" her lips curl in a mocking smirk. "The Uzumaki of course. Not you or the equally dumb Senju over there."
Said equally dumb Senju rose from their chairs in protest, one silent and the other dreadfully loud.
Madara stands up suddenly, drawing attention from the occupants of the table. "I have a much better suggestion." he says languidly.
"I personally do like the sound of Haruno Madara."
Silence.
Then, chaos.
"I'm marrying into her clan first!" Izuna exclaims.
"You'll be a concubine at most. I'll be her first wife!" Hashirama shoots back.
"Hashirama, you're a man. Her first wife would be me. You're just the foot stool." Mito growls.
"... I'm not terribly opposed to that."
"I will gladly become a concubine of her clan." Tobirama says seriously.
"You can't all marry into her clan! What about continuing the main line or whatever shit your elders keep spouting?!" Mito screeches in outrage, adamant on snatching the position of main wife.
"The elders," Tobirama starts, "are welcome to keel over and die."

Hashirama Relationship Headcanons
Tumblr media
Brace yourself for the most interesting, yet restless relationship if you’re with THE Hashirama Senju. There is so much you have to deal with but, hey, is there anyone you could ask for more?
So, he’s THE Hokage, alright. Every damn day he wakes up and there are countless works for him to do. He has to put on a serious persona in front of the people. But believe me, when he’s alone with you, it’s his only time to be his true self.
He’d come home tired, but when he saw you standing there just to greet him, his face would immediately light up as he jogged his way to throw himself into your embrace. He’d rest his head on the crook of your neck and pull you closer into his hug. It would feel so good until he whined, “Y/N, you wouldn’t believe what happened today!”
It’s safe to say that he’s like a giant baby.
He whines a lot when he’s with you. He never means to pour all of his burdens on you— it’s more like, he can be real with you and say what he wants to say.
So, yeah, he dominates the conversations A LOT. He has a lot of interesting stories to tell.
Also, when he’s with you he’s SO expressive! Would use hand gestures when talking, imitates one’s voice— it would be so funny to watch, tbh.
“And then I told Tobirama, ‘NO!’ and he was like, ‘Hmph!’ with a pout on his face— you do know what he looks like when he pouts, right, Y/N?!”
Since he talks a lot, it’s not a surprise that he accidentally spilled a thing or two about his brother and his best friend, Tobirama and Madara.
It would be so awkward. Because you never really had a chance to talk with either Tobirama or Madara that deep— yet you know some personal things about them. For example, Hashirama was so excited to tell you how Madara asked him to trim his hair to look more presentable.
One day you accompanied Hashirama for some kind of an official meeting and you met Madara along the way. You greeted Madara hesitantly and tried to sound friendly— you said, “Seems like my husband did a great job on trimming your hair!”
Madara was like, “Pardon?” as his cheeks grew red but he immediately shot Hashirama a deadly glare.
“I TOLD YOU NOT TO TELL ANYONE ABOUT THAT, HASHIRAMA.”
The same goes with Tobirama. Hashirama would occasionally invite him to your house to have dinner together and he’d SPILL almost every embarrassing detail about Tobirama when he was little.
“Don’t get fooled by Tobirama’s cool appearance, Y/N! Because, let me tell you, when he was little—“, “Brother. Enough about that story already…”
So I did mention him being your husband because I honestly can’t see him in a more casual relationship or just simply dating for a long time.
This man would want to WIFE YOU UP as soon as possible.
Would probably see each other for a few months and, boom, proposal.
You just finished your dinner when you got distracted by someone knocking on your door. Usually, you’d roll your eyes to a guest coming at this hour but you knew the person behind that door. It’s very usual for Hashirama to come and pick you up at night for a night stroll since it’s his only free time. When you opened the door, Hashirama was grinning, “You look gorgeous.” he admitted. Hashirama is always that sweet, throwing sincere compliments every chance he gets. But your guts told you something was a little bit different.
“You brushed your hair?” you gushed, but he whined instead. “Y/N? Do you think this is my first time having my hair brushed?”
The ‘date’ went pretty odd. Hashirama would let himself speak for hours, telling you stories about what he faced in the past or anything. But tonight he let you dominate the conversation, asking you about your day and let you ramble instead. Just when you reached the usual spot— a wooden bench with a lake as its view, Hashirama stopped you.
“Y/N, I’ve been waiting for this moment— to find the right person to spend the rest of my life with. Will you marry me?”
WOULD SPOIL YOU ROTTEN. Like, he can’t get enough of spoiling you— everything you want, you get. Just ask Hashirama or… you don’t have to! Hashirama is very observant when it comes to you so he’d immediately know that you have something in your mind.
He’s a fine gentleman. Although he may be busy with his duty as the Hokage, he would most definitely make a time for you, mostly at night.
He’d ask you to go for a walk at night when it’s less crowded and more private. There wouldn’t be any exact destination really— you two just walk around the village holding hands, or with his hand around your waist while having either a deep or light conversation.
He’s spontaneously romantic— it doesn’t take him long to come up with something sweet to say. So, it’s not a surprise that sometimes, what he says is just… plain cheesy. (It’s still adorable, though!)
One night when you’re walking around the village, Hashirama pointed at the dark sky, “Y/N, you shine brighter than those stars.”
“Hashirama, what stars? It’s cloudy.”
WENT INTO A FULL GLOOMY MODE
But seriously, though, he’s an overall sweet guy. Would say “Watch your step.” when you could see there was nothing in the way, or “Here, have some!” and give you his last piece of food— he cares for you deeply!
I realize that I did mention him being your husband because I don’t see Hashirama being involved in a dating phase for too long
There gotta be a moment where you said or did something that just really blew his mind away and he’s like,
“She’s the ONE.”
Hashirama would be the type to fall in love with someone’s personality. Your bravery, your kindness, your sincerity— are what Hashirama would find most lovely from you.
He respects your decision a lot. But he couldn’t help to tease you occasionally about wanting to have kids. “Don’t you think it’s wonderful to see little Hashirama or little Y/N running around the house?”
His other way of giving you a hint is by unusually showering you with kisses.
Things get intimate at night with Hashirama because it’s the only time he’s truly free. You were lying on your stomach with your eyes closed, ready to go to sleep when suddenly Hashirama hopped on top of you and started kissing the back of your neck— sending shivers down your spine. You rolled over to face him, “What are you doing?”. Instead of being flustered, a smirk began to curl on his face. “Maybe this will leads us to something else.”
He’s flashing an immense charm to make you agree.
Things could get heated if it wasn’t 2 AM.
HATES fighting with you. He sees you as his ‘most precious one’ so he’d try his ABSOLUTE best to keep you happy all the time.
LOVES getting good night kisses.
You occasionally tease him by not giving him any because it’s funny to see his disappointed look when he’s not getting his kisses.
PROTECTS YOU AT ALL COSTS.
Overall, Hashirama is indeed the best husband! <3

Tumblr media
She can’t help but feel bad when this is ridiculous, so she crosses her arms upset on behalf of her friend when she knows this has gotten over her and she can’t do anything about it because she is a foreigner, civilian and doesn’t know the rules they have within this family.
The clan is important... a bond that must be protected.
Tobirama told her so and Karen may think bitterly that he can put their rules wherever they fit. She growls looking at the huge patio with the anger of the previous discussion being so recent... after seeing Mikami pregnant and under the oppression of her rapist’s family.
She couldn’t help but complain to the leaders when her mental state stabilized.
“Karen-san,” Kaori sighs sadly at her point. The old woman still looks touched... but resigned to the whole issue.
“I know... I know that they’re your customs and it is the honor and life of a future member of the clan,” she repeats bitterly with a hard gesture. She leans on the ground, looking at the sky calmly. This world is unfair, and it makes a knot almost making the bile come out again. “Why hadn’t they told me?” It’s stupid to ask when she knows the answer.
“It is difficult... I know it is not the same for a civilian,” the old woman kindly sighs standing next to her, looking at her from the top of her position with a sad shadow.
“I don’t think it is as easy,” she states embittered, because she is oblivious to the type of injustices outisde this place. She experienced one that she’s sure many girls experience today... She sighs tiredly as she sits down and leans on her knees, not at all elegant despite having the yukata on. “Us civilians also have our problems... like these.”
“Really?”
“Yeah... there is also a lot to do on that side.”
“I see.”
“But now... I just wanted to help, but I don’t know if I made Mikami’s situation worse with my big mouth.”
“I do not think that is the case... Hashirama-sama and Tobirama-sama are very aware of the situation.”
“Really?” She sounds incredulous at such a comment.
“This hadn’t happened in a long time,” Kaori assures softly. “But ever since the young master rose to the position of leader, it has changed. The former leader, Butsuma-sama, would have had Mikami marry... that man,” she hesitates but reports casually.
Karen frowns. She supposes it’s one of those things that is known... an open secret that she has no desire to face. “I see.” is the only thing she says without feeling exactly good.
“I know it is difficult to accept for a young noble like you, but we are kunoichi. Bringing children to the clan is a fundamental part of our goal, apart from serving our duty as shinobi,” the old woman says with a tone of wisdom. “Changes are difficult,” she assures after a while.
For being someone old... she sees hope in so little, which makes her feel bad when in her world this would be different. Of course, there is still injustice and many women, children and men disappear for many reasons, but to experience it in person without being a third party...
It’s difficult... besides, Mikami is her friend.
“I’m sorry for being like this,” the civilian sighs tiredly, looking at the old woman. “I’ll still be there for Mikami. If that woman lets her visit me, of course.”
“Do not worry... I will take care of it,” the old woman laughs to look further and give a formal greeting. “Tobirama-sama,” she greets the person who appears after a long time on those grounds, which makes her snort, tired of dealing with the guy when she was sure he wanted to knock her out before.
Her jaw cracks a little more. It is a symbol that she has spoken a lot even now... she needs to rest.
“What do you want?” She asks in English, knowing that this guy is serious and sullen, surely coming to complain about the matter that she discussed almost even with the council itself.
“You are annoying.”
“It’s my gift,” she bites bitterly. “Tell me... does Mikami really have to be there?” She does not avoid asking when she is sure he would leave the point after listening to part of her conversation with the old woman.
“Mmm...”
“It’s complicated... a difficult topic, even in my world.”
“Really?” Even standing next to her like a gargoyle, the man sounds honestly curious, but Karen is sufficiently depressed by this complication that she still looks ahead.
“Yeah...” She sighs, lying carelessly on the grass. The fresh smell is natural, almost returning to the winter that tires her. She doesn’t like the cold here.
“And that did not stop you from being less irritating.”
“No... I was angry... it’s unfair.”
“Mmm... it is a child of the clan.”
“I know it is, but the decision was...” She doesn’t say anything, biting her tongue. “I don’t know... there must have been another solution than forcing her to be with that man’s family. I’ve seen how they treat her... they see her as something that only carries the grandson of their bastard son.”
“The woman lost her son.”
“A bastard,” she growls grudgingly. “The point here is that... couldn’t there have been another solution?”
“The man was executed, and the family will take care of both until they die,” the man points out as if this were enough.
She doesn’t feel better. “I see.”
Tobirama looks at her for a long time. “At least, he was punished.” He doesn’t know why he said that when he closes his eyes without wanting to continue the topic. The two are silent... like oil and water, she feels their relationship will never improve, but she stays there. She feels his eyes on her but doesn’t pay attention when she falls asleep in that space.
Karen doesn’t want to think about all the what ifs... that are now worthless.
But she doesn’t avoid feeling that guilt... when she could have done so much if she were something else...
This is the human nature at the end of the day... a clumsy mania of a vicious circle of a complicated life...
──
She has had a nightmare, which makes her look around cautiously... she can’t help but snort, tired of this topic when exactly today she celebrates another year in this place. So many things have happened... She begins to recover her previous form although she knows nothing will be the same.
Karen calmly continues to look at herself in that small mirror that has been a gift from the Uzumaki clan, a detail that just arrived the day before from the prince of that clan. At least, she hopes that they have not realized what happened back then.
She can’t help but be surprised to see her image... she noticed it before but now she clearly sees how she has changed in two years.
She turns around. Having left behind the carb-based and gym-based job that she worked on so hard before falling into this place, she now has a thin, delicate appearance and the tan has completely disappeared, along with noticeably longer, brittle hair.
Which makes her sigh audibly... she always wanted to lose weight, but not this way.
“Karen-san?”
“Uh... coming,” she declares to go out at the call of an enthusiastic young man. Today is an important event for her friend, since as part of the care and in the absence of this little one’s father, she has taken the lead of much of the work on her own initiative.
To prove that what happened with Mikami is not shameful... her friend did nothing wrong!
“Oka-san told me that when my brother... she was very afraid,” she sighs, remembering those yesterdays. Masarato is a somewhat talkative but kind boy in his own way, who has chosen to come either on errands or on his own volition to this place.
Although many of his routines, as always, are foreign to the civilian, who laughs at this.
“Of course, each pregnancy is different,” she points out subtly. “Although I don’t expect you to have this kind of things.”
“Oka-san said it was to see when it would be good to alleviate... Mikami-san has a few days, and her stomach is already very big.”
“I know... that’s why we are going to see her, right?”
“Hashirama-sama will assist her...” He seems enthusiastic about seeing his hero up close.
“Wow, you look excited.”
“Today I will ask him to be his disciple.”
“Oh, really?” She blinks this is important. He is now old enough to be able to have a different approach to his usual training, and she has also heard the skirmishes of the war have been distancing so much... although she does not understand why.
“Yes. I will be a good healer and I will help you,” he says firmly, looking at her with bright eyes. She doesn’t want to tell him that since she does not have a chakra system, that is not possible, but she remains silent, letting him babble about his plans that are far from reality.
It’s something that she doesn’t want to explain or clarify.
“Good morning,” someone greets at her side. Kaori laughs amused. “Will you be going?”
“Yes, today Mikami has a check-up,” the civilian assures. “So, I apologize for missing breakfast.”
“Not at all, Hashirama-sama told me yesterday.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes. Go on and say hello to Mikami-san.”
“Of course.” Said woman smiles continuing her way, accompanied by the little shinobi. The cobblestone streets and the humble houses are a common sight when she has become accustomed to living this way, where technology is so far away, along with the comforts that it brings. She reaches a point where she ignores many of the looks, which are diminishing.
The house is almost at the back. Many people look at them with contempt as always. They still don’t get over the fact that she is a friend of the woman who is guilty in their relative being executed. She doesn’t know what is going through their minds but she keeps walking, ignoring them.
At least, hostilities die when the leader arrives.
One who sees this peculiar situation in person. Mikami is in bed due to her delicate condition... it was calm for a moment... but for the next, she is immediately taken out due to some complications.
The little child was coming.
The baby has come early...
──
She has a baby in her arms. Now watching said infant stir with a tired mother is noticeable... which makes her think that this was too fast. “He’s cute,” she can’t help but say because she always thought that having one is complicated... but now seeing him, that maternal instinct that she didn’t know she had resurfaces when she feels the little warmth.
Karen feels a strange emotion springing up like a straw... one that she thought she had lost so long ago.
Mikami laughs. “He is,” she says without rejecting him, a surprising thing but not impossible when seeing her maternal towards the creature that is still moving on her arms. Karen stands up slightly, moving gently in a memory of old teachings.
“Sh... sh,” she gently rocks slightly, calming the newborn. She’s sure that it is not for food because Mikami gave it to him a while ago, just on his anniversary in this place... where he was born. “By the way... what will be his name?”
“Tsuna wants him to be called like her sister,” she growls reluctantly. “But I would like one name from my family... maybe Hikaru or Matsuo,” she responds, remembering someone from her past. “What do you think?”
“I think they both are very cute... he has the face of Matsuo or Hikaru,” she laughs when she sees the little reddish face of this little one again. Karen smiles with amusement, patting his chin a little.
The atmosphere is more relaxed than before.
“Hashirama-sama?” Mikami calls when she notices the man standing right at the door of the humble bedroom. The man, despite being the leader, has gone through a lot of trouble and she is glad that he has been in charge of relieving her friend.
If not... it would be a different story.
“Is there something wrong?” Karen questions, noticing his gaze fixed on her direction, which makes her raise her eyebrow.
“No-nothing.” He looks embarrassed but takes a step forward. “The treatments are normal. I notified Tsuna-san.”
“I see,” Mikami says with a hidden laugh. “Karen-san looks good as a mother, does she not?” She says without malice towards the man who blushes slightly.
“I don’t have the makings of a mother,” the civilian complains without paying attention to the man’s reaction. “Besides, a baby is a responsibility that I left behind so long ago,” she sighs because at her age, it’s easy to start searching. It’s not impossible... she knows.
But so far from home... she doesn’t know what to think.
Even so, she has resigned herself to living in this place.
“You look good,” Hashirama says seriously. “You would be a good mother.”
“Oh... thank you?” The civilian laughs amused with a long sigh. The boy stirs a little more. “I think he went to the bathroom.”
Tsuna enters like the owner of the place, taking the infant from her hands with slight warnings in her direction. “I will change him.”
“Change him here, Tsuna-san. I must learn how to do it when Matsuo and I move to my house,” the kunoichi assures firmly with a decision that she made just at the moment when she noticed there was no longer any rejection at the product of rape.
Perhaps it is because of the loneliness of not having anyone that Mikami has jumped into the only bond that, although forced and with a bad taste in her mouth along with traumas, is hers completely... HER son... HER family.
Karen smiles. The old woman huffs something but does not say anything else under the careful gaze of a Hashirama firm in his position. She sees that this will be favorable with her friend and although she was angry at the type of solution, seeing the support of the leader of the clan, she feels a little lighter.
This looks better than at the beginning.
──
She has a strange scroll on the bed with a bag that she doesn’t know what it is. Arriving and finding this is disconcerting, so she doesn’t avoid sighing after such a tiring day of socializing. Hashirama, at least, was there most of the time, making the atmosphere of the place where Mikami stayed less sullen.
Although the birth of the baby has come as a balm to the pain of many of those present.
Not avoiding the gossip... but that can be worked on with more time.
“What’s that?” She asks the old lady, who laughs.
“Oh, well it was brought,” she says mysteriously with a strange gesture in her direction. “Just before you arrived.”
“I see,” she frowns with a light sigh.
“I will prepare your bath, so you can sleep,” the old woman assures after talking about the sudden birth of Mikami’s son. She purses her lips and remains awkward at that point because she is not sure how to interpret this... it is not a gift, she knows it’s not... but what does it mean?
She unwraps the scroll and laughs, amused at being a letter from Aoki.
“Seriously, that man doesn’t get a ‘no’ easily.” She feels less sullen than before but leaves it aside because in the entire letter, he doesn’t mention what he sent. That happened with the mirror that Kaori helped her unwrap from the storage parchment, that she easily explained and scared her.
She sighs embarrassed by that slip. Nevertheless, she sits on the bed and sees that it has no scribbles other than a simple ribbon, so it is clearly not from the Uzumaki clan. It opens with a sound that she did not think she would hear in this place... one that she didn’t think she would see so she can’t help but get excited and open it.
She smiles. She doesn’t avoid doing so when she notices her cell phone, although battered... along with more things that she thought she would have back or see again. “Oh,” she frowns when she takes her phone, which falls apart just as it leaves the bag... The glass is intact, but the entire case is destroyed.
She laughs at the irony of hoping that they would be okay. She looks at the camera with sadness when she takes it out, expecting the same fate. Though it doesn’t fall apart with her touch... on the contrary, it looked better treated, although it had some scratches that surely weren’t there.
She touches the power button. The screen shines with the battery that she remembers it had, which makes her surprised because it has been two years since she charged it. Why does it still have energy? However, any thought of suspicion dies the moment she comes across an image she didn’t remember.
An event where she went and used this camera.
Her family smiled happily... unintentionally uncovering the dormant emotion after so long... she misses them so much.
Wanting to be with them a little longer... Karen cries in solitude, forgetting the bath. She sleeps perched with the camera between her fingers, hoping that it won’t disappear when she wakes up.
She hopes not.

u literally cant mention embarrassing kinks that tobirama has and not write headcanons abt them ... please ... i'm begging ... maybe hcs for embarrassing kinks (and their S/O finding out) for tobirama and kakashi ?? (or iruka and obito lol)
kkskskssksksk warning ahead for.... mention of lactation(?)...
Tobirama
Tumblr media
⤰⤰⤰
He just..... this fucking guy ..... I can’t stand him...
If you’ve got big tits keep them away from this man. He doesn’t... know how to handle them
He... would REALLY like to feel the tits and squeeze them and very possibly lie down with you on top of him while he just sucks on your nipples for an hour straight and—
The nipple kink is real ok. Which probably leads to that lactation kink he doesn’t want us talking about
But we know damn well that he’s got one
Basically yes: once he realizes how fucking nice your tits feel in his hands, or how ridiculously hot it is to suck and bite them.... he has trouble NOT doing it
You’re gonna notice when he just... gets carried away. Like oh yes, his strong fingers pinching your nipples is getting you nice and hot and ready. Maybe he’ll go between your legs now and pleasure you there—
Nope. He’s still on your chest, pinching and sucking and licking and he doesn’t even notice because of how focused he is. You’re just like 😬 alright then
He bites a little too hard sometimes. He doesn’t know his own strength
So maybe you tell him “Tobirama, calm down a little...”
And that’s when he realizes and he’s like 😳 Uh, I... I um—
Ok but backtrack, what would probably start this lactation kink: if you are pregnant, or you’ve just had his kid, and say you’re... really full of milk rn and your baby isn’t hungry. So now you’ve just got these juicy tits and oh no ): no one to help. You need some relief :/
Tobirama will... reluctantly volunteer with that -.- look on his face because... this is weird. Why is he doing this? Ugh. It’s ridiculous—
Oh but it’s kinda hot... just sucking your tits and hearing your little moans/sighs of relief while he does it... why is his dick getting hard?
He’s mortified when he’s basically sucked you dry but wow... he doesn’t know why that was so erotic but it was and oh no... he’s feeling some type of way about it now and oh shit... now it’s a KINK
Again, DON’T TALK ABOUT IT. He’s VERY EMBARRASSED
Kakashi
Tumblr media
⤰⤰⤰
As has been stated: this man has a weird foot fetish, but it only extends to you giving him a footjob with your socks still on lmao
Something about the scratchy material of your socks rubbing his dick is just crazy hot to him
He’ll never admit that to you though... at least sober
So it’s something you two try when he’s drunk and accidentally blurts it out; he sort of warms you up to the idea of it and... how can you resist? His dick is HARD in his pants and it keeps getting bigger the longer he talks about how nice it would be if you “did a little something... with your.... feet”
So you oblige, but when you’re starting to take your socks off he grabs your ankles clumsily like NO—I mean uh... no haha ... keep them on, maybe? (:
He’s gonna die of embarrassment when you tell him about this tomorrow (if you do)
You can’t lie though. It’s sooooo hot hearing how much he moans and groans for you when your socked-up feet are rubbing his dick
He grabs your ankles to slow you down/make you speed up depending on what he wants
And just squeezes your feet around his dick when he’s cumming
Oh—he also has a very very small almost infinitesimal... humiliation kink
Like... if you wanna call him a naughty, disgusting, shameful pervert in bed he might be like :/ damn why you on my ass like this
But inside he’s like.... ugh yes degrade me. I know I’m a perv. Tell me again. I need to hear it... it... kinda made my dick jump
If you’re riding his dick really good and start humiliating him right when he’s about to cum, he may honest to god agree with you like, “Yes fuck! I’m—shit, yeah I’m a disgusting pervert–fuuuuuck—”

So @denialcity and I got distracted by dropping the Naruto founders into Pern a few days ago and we have other things to write so it’s getting dumped here:
It’s less a fusion and more a crossover.  Hashirama, Tobirama, Mito, Madara, Izuna, and Hikaku from canon-except-Izuna-lives wind up on Pern (noncanon but mostly by lacking canon plots and gender/sexuality impression, no new colors).
Doesn’t matter how.  It’s definitely something Tobirama did, though.
It’s probably the very end of an Interval.  Pern is down to like, four golds total, it’s bad but the dragons are kicking up into Pass reproduction numbers and there’s a gold egg on the sands.
Whatever language Pern speaks it’s not what the Founders do, so communication is... complicated.  They end up on the hatching sands with a basic understanding of ‘loyal dragon companion for life’ and like, none of the stuff Pern puts on dragon colors at all.
And then there are three variants so far:
Mito gets a gold dragon.  Tobirama and Madara both get bronze.  Hikaku gets brown.  Hashirama gets blue.  Izuna gets green.
Madara’s dragon is a gleeful athlete, and equally delighted by being fussed over and cared for.  Hashirama is the only one who immediately Gets why this is a perfect match for Madara.
Tobirama’s dragon, meanwhile, is at least as argumentative and even louder than he is.  They frequently end up standing in the Weyrbowl yelling at each other about, like, whether Tobirama’s dragon should eat a goat today or if beef would be more nutritious.  Both of them are totally happy with this
Pernese people are Extremely Disturbed.  That’s not... how dragon-rider bonds are supposed to work.  It’s supposed to be peace and love and harmony!
The shinobi basically go ‘yeah that sounds like Tobirama, why?’
Sometime after impression a Pernese character sees Tobirama and Hashirama interacting and goes no, no no no no that’s not right, the bronzerider is in charge and the bluerider follows orders without question, sort that out.
Tobirama is offended and scandalized and also highly judgmental. Hashirama goes ‘huh, that’s new!’ and carries on with his life.
Tobirama decides shortly thereafter that he’s going to become Weyrleader so that he can fix this nonsense (and a whole bunch of other nonsense too)
All of the shinobi are unimpressed with this ‘riding harness’ nonsense and just stick to their dragons with chakra 99% of the time.  The Pernese are Horrified but like... they can’t actually stop them.  They can insist the dragons wear the harnesses Just In Case but the shinobi are going to take off all the straps and start running around their dragon’s back midair regardless.
Then they start jumping between each others’ dragons midair and the Pernese just... try not to think about it.
Izuna’s dragon can out-agile Tobirama’s like five times over.  Izuna loves this.
Tobirama spends a week trying to invent hiraishin for dragons before he realizes that They Already Do That and it won’t help his bronze keep up with Izuna’s green at all.
The Uchiha learn that dragons can go anywhere, but need detailed visuals as coordinates.  Madara and Izuna laugh.  (Hikaku is too polite to laugh but he’s thinking the same thing.)  They’re Uchiha!  They have the sharingan!  Memorizing a bunch of visuals?  Easiest thing ever!
And that’s how the Uchiha develop a recurring problem with accidentally timing it because they memorized all their visuals too precisely.  Very much like Lessas accidental discovery of timing it, except it keeps happening because they used the sharingan for all those coordinates, and now they have to consciously downgrade their visuals every single time or Whoops, You’re In The Past Again!
The Uchiha are Frustrated.  So are all the Pernese.  Tobirama is blatantly popcorning.
Then we get to threadfighting, and the Uchiha are once again Delighted.
You know how you kill thread?  You set the entire sky on fire, that’s how.  Madara has never found anything he’s better suited to in his life, and that’s saying something.
Madara can’t fight an entire threadfall on his own, but he can cover, like, 3-4 wings’ worth of sky with one fire jutsu.  It’s terrifying.  The Pernese love him.  Madara is having the time of his life.
Izuna isn’t on Madara’s scale but he can cover maybe 1-2 wings’ worth of area on his own.  He is also having the time of his life.
Hikaku and Tobirama do not operate on that scale, but they’re also doing a lot more than a regular Pernese rider + dragon pair do, since they have fire and water jutsu respectively.  Mito is probably here too, I’m not sure what elements she can use but I’m sure she could work out something with seals if she needed to.
Hashirama... well....
See, the thing is, thread eats trees.  Mokuton is, literally, worse than useless here.  Hashirama is therefore relegated to tossing his dragon firestone and letting his dragon do the threadfighting, like a non-shinobi.
Hashirama is somewhat frustrated by this, but it is what it is.  He probably has some seals that Mito made as backup options, should thread get too close at an angle his dragon can’t get to.
Madara, on the other hand, can’t decide whether he’s gleefully smug about being clearly superior to Hashirama now, or outraged that it’s not a competition.  (The answer, of course, is both.)
Version two!
Izuna gets a gold instead of a green.  (Mito still gets a gold too, but hers hatches later.)
Tobirama and Madara both want to become Weyrleader.  To do this, their dragon needs to catch Izuna’s.  And from here, we descent into Antics
Madara has a Crisis when he learns about mating flights and, specifically, the effect they have on their rider.
He wants to be Weyrleader!  To be Weyrleader Madara’s dragon needs to catch Izuna’s!  Madara does not want to sleep with his brother!!!!!
He learns about this from future!Madara, who came back to the past specifically to warn him, probably from immediately after the weyrling lesson that covered the topic.
Madara hides in Hashirama’s room and tells Hashirama to guard the door.  He does not clarify why.
Hashirama interprets this as ‘don’t let in anyone Madara wouldn’t want to hang out with’ so he doesn’t worry at all about letting Izuna in.
Madara: “YOU HAD ONE JOB, HASHIRAMA”
Izuna angsts because Madara is avoiding him????  Why?????
Eventually they get an explanation and Madara is reassured that he can just lock the door, the dragons will not teleport him and Izuna together, also self control exists, it’s fine.  Riders USUALLY sleep together during mating flights and it’s EXPECTED but exceptions happen, chill.
Izuna’s gold isn’t even going to be old enough to rise for like a year and a half yet.
Tobirama meanwhile reacts to the information with approximately ‘sleeping with Izuna is distasteful but if I Must so be it.’  He keeps this potentially offensive opinion to himself just as much as he keeps every other potentially insulting opinion he has to himself, which is to say, not at all
Izuna is extremely insulted.  He doesn’t want to sleep with Tobirama either and no way is he going to let Tobirama’s dragon win the flight so it’s moot anyway, but IZUNA is the one who does the rejecting around here!!!  Get back here and have a futile crush on him right now!!!!
Tobirama: “No”
Hashirama keeps trying to convince Tobirama to be nicer
Mito knows exactly what Tobirama is doing and she is Staying Out Of It, Thank You
Izuna is finding every other bronzerider in the Weyr so he can flirt with them in front of Tobirama
So, like, you know how golds will fight during a mating flight, because Competition?
Tobirama and Izuna have such a long history as Rivals, Tobirama’s dragon is able to provoke Izuna’s gold into turning around and attacking him mid-flight.  This is how he wins
This is also where @denialcity and I both went “yeah someone else can write the mating flight smut” which is probably the only thing that will save us from writing this AU too
Izuna is Very apologetic to Madara afterward about letting Tobirama win
Tobirama looks roughly like he got into a fistfight with a lion.  This does not stop him from being extremely smug
Tobirama puts Madara in charge of threadfighting so that Tobirama can focus on Fixing This Entire Society, Since You Clearly All Need It, so Madara mostly gets what he wanted anyway
Pern meanwhile is Scandalized.  Fighting thread is The thing the Weyrleader is supposed to be in charge of!  He also ends up in charge of almost everything else, because fighting thread is what weyrs Do, but threadfall is The Main Point!
Tobirama: “And?  It’s getting done.  Did you have a point or is this entirely a waste of my time?”
By the time Izuna’s gold rises again Izuna is Furious.  He likes the changes Tobirama is making and Madara is happy leading threadfall, so Izuna wants Tobirama to stay Weyrleader.  But that means Tobirama(’s dragon) has to win!  And Izuna(’s dragon) has to let him!  Fuck this!  How dare Tobirama be good at things!!!!
Anyway it’s TobiIzu eventually but like, it takes Years for them to get around to (admitting) anything resembling Feelings instead of just fighty sex that they blame on dragons
Version 3:
Tobirama gets a gold dragon.
It takes a bit for him to understand what that means because of the language barrier, but once he does he sets out interviewing every bronzerider in the Weyr to figure out which one will get in his way the least
In the end he picks Hikaku, who was Not consulted and is Not appreciative of this ‘first brownriding Weyrleader’ title
Hikaku’s job is to follow orders and never dream of using his on-paper rank to undermine any of Tobirama’s work.
Unfortunately for Hikaku, he’s good at this.
Madara still gets put in charge of threadfall

“You’re really going?” Madara inquires. He is seated in front of you, with a small wooden table between. A candle and two cups of tea sits on its surface.
You smile at him. “Yeah. I need to make amends. Help out those who need help and be good, whatever that means.”
Madara’s eyebrows knit in worry. “I could come with you.”
You let out a chuckle and you reach for your friend’s hand. “It’s okay. I can handle my own. You know I need to do this.”
Madara looks at you doubtfully, then he stares at your hand on top of his. For a moment, the two of you sit in silence. You glance at Madara’s face, the candle light flickering shadows on his skin. You notice the dark bags underneath his eyes and you worry about whether he is not getting any sleep. Madara moves his hand to cover yours, and he squeezes it.
“I…” Madara starts. He presses his thin lips together.
You raise your eyebrows up, expectant.
 “Nevermind,” Madara sighs.
You lean forward to encourage him. “Come on. You can tell me anything.”
Madara’s eyes grow hesitant. His thumb grazes over your skin, and the action makes you swallow your words. This makes you sad. Someone finally cares about you and you are going to leave them behind.
“Madara,” you whine.
“What will you do when you get back?” Madara asks tentatively.
You stare at your friend, trying to think. You did not think about this ahead. “I do not know.”
“Will you still pursue a career of being a shinobi?”
“Of course,” you tell him. “It is my life.”
Madara nods, and he looks to the side. “Will you be happy, if you do?”
Your eyes swim for a moment. “Madara, what is going on?”
Madara retracts his hand and buries it underneath the table. “Nothing.”
“Madara?” You call for him. “Thank you for everything you’ve done.”
Madara nods, and a small smile softens his cold features. “Don’t die. I will not forgive you, if you do.”
You smirk, and you slowly stand up. “That’s a given.”
You head towards the exit of his room. You hesitate to slide it open, your fingers resting at the handle.
“I do not have any plans. I do not have a dream either,” you start to say. “But I want to figure it out. See where I stand in the grand scheme of things.”
You move your arm to slide the door open.
“That is not an easy path to take,” Madara warns, moving his hand to take his cup.
“When did I ever want easy?” You give him a huge grin, one full of bravado. If you are being honest, you are afraid of going out there once again, but this is the way forward.
Pride is the last thing you see from Madara’s eyes before you close his door.
//
You do not see Tobirama until the day you have to be on the Academy grounds, where the ceremony to announce its new curriculum and reformation is going to happen. You stay by the sidelines, your eyes tracking him as he moves about. His face and his demeanor is calm, but there is an air of frenzy surrounding him, as if his skin is itching but he cannot scratch it to ease his discomfort. The sun travels high across the sky, and the expression on Tobirama’s face becomes worse. His eyes start to squint, giving an impression that he is glaring at just about anything he sees, and the lines of his face start to form a scowl.
People start to gather in front of the Academy, children, parents, and people visiting from outside of Konoha. You stick to the shadows, carefully watching your back just in case another person tries to pull a knife on you again.
That is the only reason you want to get out there again–to offer help to anyone who is desperate to go after you, and to stop the bounty on your head. You know that you must come back to where it all began. Instead of hurting others, you want to use your skills to save because you think you can do it. Hashirama and Madara believe you can do it.
You wait for a little bit more, and finally, Hashirama and Tobirama take to the stage that was quickly built this morning. Hashirama says a few good words after retelling the brief beginnings of Konoha and the alliances between the clans that reside in it, and then, he steps aside to let his brother speak.
Tobirama glares at the crowd. You watch him with amusement.
“My brother has a vision of what the Academy can be,” Tobirama begins. “It is not only a place to train young shinobis, but it is also a place to foster an environment where they can excel in many areas such as the sciences and the arts. I proudly announce that I have reformed the Academy to be exactly that…”
You frown.
Tobirama finishes his speech and goes on to summarize the curriculum by reading the titles and its author . There is no mention of your name anywhere. Not even a slight reference to you.
Something hot washes over you, and it makes your head dizzy.
When Tobirama steps off the stage, he nods at everyone and his brother and welcomes the people to explore the Academy.
You fight through the crowd to get to him, but he gets farther and farther away.
You see Hashirama clutching a copy of the curriculum in one arm as he entertains a few children.
You wait for an opening, and you fake your smile as you greet Hashirama and ask to see the book.
You stare at the first page where Tobirama’s name is printed. Your head becomes empty.
Suddenly, you push the book back into Hashirama and you bound after Tobirama with a boiling determination to bury your fist into his face. You try not to shout his name in the crowd, and instead, you run to him and you violently push him into another direction.
"I can't believe you!" You almost shout, once the two of you step into the empty classroom.
Tobirama's hard expression does not change.
You have never felt rage like this. You have been angry to the point that it gives you enough power to destroy things, but this rage is different. You only see fire, and it makes your heart burn and your face hot. Most of all, it makes tears prick your eye, making your vision blurry. All you can do is yell out because this one really stings.
“Are you not going to say anything?” You bark. “Say something or I am going to take my katana and fucking stick it up your arrogant, senile ass!”
Tobirama seems to take his time to make up his mind. You are too angry to see the conflict crossing on his face and the more he stays silent, the more you want to rage on. How can he just do this?
“Why aren’t you saying something?” You scream, the question tearing at your throat. Your head is spinning. You have never felt like this before.
You feel...betrayed.
Your heart shatters before you can grab the pieces to salvage them.
Tobirama’s eyes are rippling with unsaid words, but they settle and they grow indifferent. “You are a criminal. I could not have your name publicized and connected to the Academy.”
You gape at Tobirama, realization dawning on you. His suspicions, his need to keep track of you and your movements, his invasive questions to you, his constant monitoring of your abilities and what you can’t do.
 It is all too much.
“After I tell you something so personal to me,” you grit your teeth and clench your fists to keep yourself from throwing him on the ground. “You use it against me in a very prejudiced way?”
You go to a desk, and with sheer strength, you flip it over and it crashes to the floor, knocking back a few chairs.
Tobirama keeps silent and his expression remains stoic. His jaw tightens, and he is also clenching his fists to the point that they are shaking.
“What is going on here?!” Hashirama interrupts, barging in through the classroom doors.
You try not to glare at the Hokage so you keep your eyes to the ground.
“Nothing,” Tobirama grinds out.
“Your brother,” you slowly start. “Accidentally left my name out on this project you assigned to us, in which we equally worked on.”
Hashirama’s head snaps to Tobirama, disbelief written all over his face. “Is that why you wouldn’t show me the whole thing in the beginning?" He asks his brother.
“You’re only in this for the money,” Tobirama says through gritted teeth, but it sounds like he is trying to convince himself. He does not even look at you when he says this.
Your mouth drops in shock. “How dare you?!” You have never been so outrightly insulted.
“Tobirama, that is enough!” Hashirama interrupts.
“What is it to you anyway?” Tobirama demands, his face growing even more emotionless. “You’re just loud, but there really isn’t anything to you. You’re just an empty can, clanking around, making noises to get attention.”
Hashirama looks shocked at his brother’s words, and his eyes flit to you with concern immediately. “Tobirama!” Hashirama scolds, wanting to knock sense into his head.
You stare at Tobirama, and then you turn away when you feel a hot tear slide down your cheek. “Wow,” you laugh to yourself. “To my naivety I thought you couldn’t get worse. On top of being a jerk, you are also quite egoistic, forget it.”
You quickly wipe the tear away, wondering why you cannot depend on your usual facade to hide your hurt away. You take a few deep breaths, and then you turn to Tobirama.
“Get fucked, you bastard,” you snarl, and with that, you walk away from him. “I’m glad this is the last time I’ll get to see your shitty face.”
//
Tobirama stares at the space you just left, and he feels bereft of any feeling except regret. He tries to push it away but it weighs down on him to the point that he is bracing himself on a desk. He is an expert at controlling his emotions and yet, he cannot control the guilt that is taking over him. He feels shame over his own words and he immediately wants to chase you down and take it all back, but he plants his feet and he stares at the surface of the table he is leaning on.
“What did you do?” Hashirama quietly asks, staring at the back of his brother’s head.
 “Leave me alone,” Tobirama says.
“Tobirama,” Hashirama calls his name, trying to make him talk.
“I said, leave me alone!” Tobirama slams his palms on the table.
“Tobirama, you are acting like a child,” Hashirama scolds, the warmth from his voice undetectable. “I suggest you get it together.”
“Or else?” Tobirama retorts, feeling risky today. His brother can be scary when he is angry, and he deserves to receive his brother’s wrath.
Hashirama grabs his arm harshly, forcing his brother to look at him. “Why did you do that?”
Tobirama grits his teeth and he does not look his brother in the eye.
 “Don’t make me repeat myself.”
Tobirama takes his arm away and he starts to pace in the classroom. “Do you really want to know why?”
 “Yes. Why?”
“Because if her name gets out in public and it is associated with mine, not only will that put a target on her back, she will also get my enemies on top of hers!” Tobirama shouts, his voice almost cracking from his outburst.
Hashirama stares at his brother, processing what he just said. “What?” He breathes out. “It’s not because you know about her past or you're being your judgemental self?”
“No! I don’t care about that! How could you make her work with me?” Tobirama grows quiet, and he takes his hand and covers his forehead with his palm. “How could you just dump that on me...just how?!” He suddenly bursts out. "She is unbearable!"
Hashirama suddenly understands where his brother is coming from. “You should have just talked to her.”
Tobirama glances at the door. “Yeah, well. You could have warned me, elder brother.”
“Then would you have worked with her in the first place?” Hashirama asks.
 “No,” Tobirama scowls.
 Hashirama raises an eyebrow. “Exactly.”
Tobirama falls silent, and his forehead creases.
“And I am also her Hokage. I can’t be giving out her secrets without her permission,” Hashirama adds, his voice gentle this time. “You should have told her because she is going away for a mission today.”
Tobirama’s head snaps at this and he bounds for the door immediately, but his brother stops him.
“Leave her be and give her space,” Hashirama advises. “She will be back.”
Tobirama shakes his head, but he does not want to impose on you anymore. He leans back into the edge of a table and he folds his arms together.
“She is not who you think she is,” Hashirama tells Tobirama.
“I know,” Tobirama quietly says, staring at one spot on the floor.
“Tobirama, you are one hell of a fool,” Hashirama continues to scold.
Tobirama glances up at his brother. and he grits his teeth “Stop it, elder brother, I am aware of what I did.”
He continues to glare daggers on the spot on the floor, and although he is trying to push his guilt away like he is used to doing, it does not abate and it hangs over his head like a kind of condemnation.
He really drove you away, and so easily.
//
“Took you long enough,” the woman with the brown eyes–Hina, you remember from the day she attempted to stab you–says, peeling herself away from the shadows of the trees. “We have a deadline to meet.”
“I had some men problems,” you roll your eyes and you keep walking. “Let’s go.”
“I’m surprised you even want to tag along, you had a good life in there,” Hina says, matching your quick strides. “And why don’t you just kill him? It’d save you time.”
“How many times do I have to repeat that–”
“Yeah, yeah, you don’t do that anymore,” Hina finishes and she gives you an unimpressed look. “Why did you even stop? I don’t understand.”
“I changed my mind, that’s it,” you lie.
“You felt guilty,” Hina surmises. “You never come back from killing, you know.”
You raise a shoulder to shrug, too angry to elaborate or to come up with a smart comeback. “Sure.”
Hina unsheathes her knife and she flips it over in her hand. “Don’t give me that.”
“Why? I don’t even know you. You tried to kill me, remember?”
“Yeah, but now, we are working together.”
You sigh. You are tired of teamwork. It has not served you in any way that benefits you.
“I promise I won’t kill you,” Hina says, and she uncovers her hood from her head. Reddish brown hair falls down her shoulders and strands fall over her eyes. “Your turn to promise the same thing.”
You roll your eyes. “I promise,” you obnoxiously exclaim, not really meaning it. “Now, shut up and let’s go.”
You keep your eyes forward, using this newfound anger in you to not spare the village another glance.
//
Two years later…
Tobirama’s nephews push him to take them to the new meat restaurant that just recently opened up. He sighs, but he gives in since he got off work early and they came all the way to fetch him anyway. He watches them fondly as they fight and jostle each other as they walk, and he lets his mind wander about his latest research and the new jutsus that he just came up with. His brother did not approve of some, forcing him to seal them away and storing them in a more secured place. This is becoming a pattern between the two of them, and at times, Tobirama thinks that every jutsu he comes up with is dangerous to his brother.
He cannot blame him, though. Tobirama has been obsessing over his experiments more than usual because there are no more fights to go to. He has made a habit of picking up his pen over his sword.
He has kept himself busy, especially now that other Hidden villages are trying to model right after them. His brother sends him to many diplomatic missions to make allies, establish trade and commerce with nearby lands to make sure that Konoha is flourishing and growing. He also participates more in political games to gain resources and to learn of the newest technology. On top of his duties of being the Hokage’s advisor, he is also a teacher and he makes sure that his students are progressing in their careers as shinobi by taking them to espionage missions or bringing them to other lands to protect people and help out wherever they can.
He pushes them, and in turn, he also pushes himself to evolve more. He has a routine that he prides himself on following when he is well enough, but he breaks them occasionally when he is rendered inaccessible due to his bouts of manic passion, where he gets all of his work and thinking done all by himself. Hashirama warns him about self-preservation and reminds him of his many self-inflicted accidents, but Tobirama is not one to worry about himself when he is so close to accomplishing a new feat.
He is unstoppable when he is in his element.
And in his most vulnerable moments, when he feels like the weight of his responsibilities are too much (something he will never ever admit because he is a very proud man who loves what he does), his mind goes to you without his consent. He tries not to think about you at all, but his inhibitions fail him in the worst of times and his worries for you escape his most guarded parts of his mind and to the forefront of his thinking. He does not have feelings of contempt over the fact that this is how he is now, but you are gone. There is no point of fighting himself over feelings that will fade in time. Tobirama hopes they do fade in time.
He has more important matters to attend to. He has lives to look after and take care of. He cannot afford to entertain his sorry feelings.
He is also a shinobi. He trained all his life to set aside personal afflictions for the sake of the bigger picture. He cannot fail himself and his ways.
He has all the time to keep convincing himself that this is how it should be for him.
His many nephews push open the door to the new restaurant, and Tobirama follows after them, warning them to calm down.
Sometimes, having their father’s exuberance has its disadvantages.
Tobirama naturally looks around the restaurant, observing the decorations: the traditional paintings of landscapes hanging on the wall and the small, makeshift fountain in the corner, where tiny fishes are swimming, the way the tables and booths are arranged. Then, his heart stops when his gaze lands on the familiar shape of your head. You are seated by the counter, quietly munching on your meal like you have not eaten in days. Your weapons lie on the next chair beside you, and there is a knapsack by your feet.
Tobirama cannot help but marvel at you, and he thinks that he is seeing a ghost because you have been gone for so long. He never thought that he would see you again.
Even in his fair share of travels, he attempts to look for you, and each time, he comes up with nothing and he is nowhere near where you are. He knows his thoughts are becoming more absurd by the moment, but he cannot help but stare at you. He notices that your skin is darker, probably from long exposure from the sun, and there are new healed scars on your arms that he never saw before, but most of all, you are alive.
He has spent so many months wondering if you are safe, that seeing you here is a relief, like a breath that he has been holding so damn long. Tobirama does not know what to say. He couldn’t just go there and sit himself near you and start a conversation, not after what he pulled.
He deserves your silence. He deserves nothing from you.
What would he even say in the first place?
That when he no longer hears your vindictive laugh coming after him, when your loud presence and your insulting demeanor are no longer terrorizing him, he has the urge to seek you out.
That despite the fact that he should no longer be thinking of you and what he did to you, he still does, and he does it obsessively, as if taking apart that moment can piece him another result that will not end in you leaving.
Tobirama feels sick as he slides into the booth with his nephews. He is glad that the booth hides him from view, but if he really tries to turn his body, he can easily spot you.
Someone comes to serve them, and Tobirama waits for his turn as his nephews shout their orders out.
//
Arriving just a few hours ago, you hear about a new restaurant that has opened in Konoha. You take your time to get there, observing the new things that are happening in the village. The place has changed a lot in two years, and it seems like the place has also grown in population. You try not to wonder about one of the people leading this village who definitely had a big role in encouraging Konoha to grow this strong, but your mind fails you because the Senju clan’s influence is tangible in the air. The people clearly worship their Hokage, because you hear songs in the streets dedicated to Hashirama and poems being recited to tell his feats in battle and in building this village. Naturally, word outside the village travels fast when it comes to the formidable Senju brothers.
You hear that Tobirama has grown into a bigger role of politicking, and you speculate that he prefers to work in the background and have his brother in the spotlight because you do not hear songs or poems about him, or see colorful painted portraits of him being sold in the markets of Konoha.
Again, you try not to think about him, but his absence in the corners of the streets you pass by just pushes your mind to fill in the gaps with him.
Time away from Tobirama did not foster your distaste for him. Instead, you are filled with questions. You want to understand where he is coming from. You want to understand his intentions. You have always known based on your instincts and expertise of reading people that he is the type to lay his life down for this village and his elder brother, that his heart is dedicated to a cause bigger than him. You know deep in your heart, he is a good man, so you want him to talk and explain why he decided to exclude your name from the credit of participating in creating the Academy’s curriculum.
Despite his harsh words, he did only speak of the truth. It made sense, though it does not excuse the fact that he hurt you and actively chose to do that.
 He should have talked.
You are disappointed in him, because you know that he can do better. You have seen him be better than that.
Your only regret is that you have let your anger blind you for the first time. You are usually pretty good at keeping your cool, but suddenly, when it comes to Tobirama, your feelings become heightened for no damn reason. It’s like his face triggers you and your mouth fires off to immediately insult him and make him see and hear you.
You arrive at the new restaurant, and your mouth waters at the sweet and savory smell of meat cooking. It has been a while since you had a good, hearty meal and that is what you will have, before you meet with the Hokage and catch up with Madara.
You keep still in your seat as you wait, trying your best to not walk around and touch everything in the restaurant because it is pretty neat. A group of loud boys enter the restaurant, and you chuckle to yourself, remembering Hashirama’s cute sons, but then your food arrives and you quickly take your utensil to eat. You have been so hungry that it does not matter how others perceive you right now.
“The bill, please,” you request once you are finished eating.
The waiter hands refills your glass of water. “Your bill has been paid.”
“What?” You say in surprise, completely puzzled. “When?”
You clearly did not pay your bill before you ate.
“Just a few moments ago,” the waiter replies and he leaves you to your thoughts.
You stare at your filled glass, thinking that you got lucky today and that the restaurant is probably doing this to garner more customers.
You admit to yourself that what they are doing is a good strategy.
You shrug to yourself and gather your things so that you can meet Hashirama. You have been dying to catch up with him, and most of all, you are hoping to get a glimpse of Tobirama.
The anger you felt towards him is gone, and it replaces with an uncomfortable feeling on your chest.
You ignore it, lest it blossoms into something you cannot control.
//
Hashirama greets you with open arms, and he goes to you like an eager child and you are immediately pulled into a huge embrace. You let out a surprised laugh, and Hashirama steps back to examine you. A huge grin spreads across his features and you cannot help reflecting back his sentiments.
“I’m here!” You exclaim.
“Two years, my gods,” Hashirama cries out, his hands settling on your shoulders. “You could have sent a letter.”
 You shrug apologetically. “I’m sorry.”
“No matter, no matter!” Hashirama walks back to his desk. “So? Tell me all about it.”
You take a deep breath, trying to find the courage to retell what happened to you for the last two years. Different events flash into your mind, but you decide to start from the very beginning. Hashirama nods expectantly, encouraging you.
You leave with Hina, the woman who was sent to kill you. The two of you take the job that Nuga speaks of, which is to assassinate the leader of a growing gang towards the eastern lands, near the ocean. You had offered to help Hina so that she could make it back to her family, and then go on your way from there to offer your skills to help people. However, it did not go as planned.
The gang has controlled the growing ports near the ocean, signifying their growing power. As the two of you infiltrate the living quarters of the leader, swarms of his subordinates flood the hallways and the two of you become surrounded. With no way to go and no hope of accomplishing this job, you and Hina decide to fight your way out.
And in the heat of the battle, Hina gets injured.
You wade through countless bodies, one arm defending the two of you and the other half-carrying Hina. Blood sprays in the air, and your vision is painted red, but you keep going. You have no choice if you want to live. You try not to aim at the most vulnerable spots, and instead, you aim low at their legs or choose to slam the flat of your blade against their heads and swoop them off their feet. You are not free of injuries either, as you feel the debilitating stings of the blade slicing against your arm and your side.
“I’m sorry,” Hina whispers as the two of you leave a wake of injured men behind you.
You trudge ahead, not wasting time to put a huge distance between you and the gang of men.
“Hina,” you tell her. “You better not die on me.”
Hina murmurs your name with a smile. “To fight with you is an honor, Y/n.”
You glance at the woman leaning heavily on your shoulder. Half of her body is completely soaked in blood. “Don’t say that. What happened to referring to me as the Man-Killer?”
“My family lives in the forest at the very south of the Earth country,” Hina says, her voice becoming weaker and weaker. “Please protect them and help them get through the winter.”
“Hina,” you say. “Don’t tell me this.”
“You’re just human, you know. You don’t deserve every bad thing out there.”
  “Hina,” you plead. “Shut up.”
“Sorry for your arm…” Hina murmurs.
The buzz of energy you feel that makes your blood pump leaves you, making you feel sluggish. Hina is now leaning her weight on you fully, and you know that the two of you cannot travel far like this, so you settle her down against a tree and you check her injuries.
Blood covers your hands like a pair of gloves, but you do not shrink away in fear or disgust. You do your best to take care of Hina, refusing to look her in the face. The moonlight shines between the spaces of the trees, illuminating her pale skin and her blood-soaked clothes.
“Hina,” you whisper fearfully.
You do not get another response.
You fall to your ass on the ground, feeling defeated. You rest your elbows on your knees, and you stare at Hina, feeling empty. After a minute, you make yourself reach for Hina’s hand, and you hold it, until the warmth from her body fades away. You let her know, as she leaves her body, that you are there for her and that she was not alone.
Then, before the sun rises, you do your best to clean her up, wiping away the blood from her face and arms, and you cover her with your own garment. You make her a grave, even though your body is tired and in pain.
When morning comes, you have her knife strapped with your swords, and you head towards the direction of her home.
--
The trip takes almost two months, and in those months, you practice travelling through trees using your chakra to propel yourself from one branch to the next. You get tired, and you require long rests, but towards the end, you feel yourself getting stronger and more aware of your power. You pass many towns, luscious forests and dry deserts until you are in another country, taking extra care to watch your back.
It takes another two weeks until you find Hina’s family, and you find them in the old Hina fashion, with one of her siblings sticking a knife on your back. You disarm her younger brother easily enough, but the youngest sibling is on a tree branch above you, aiming an arrow to your head.
“I come in peace,” you announce, immediately raising your hands and dropping the boy’s knife. “Hina sent me.”
  “Where is our sister?”
“I have her knife. She died from a job,” you tell them.
The girl glares at you. “Did the famed ningen satsujin-sha get her?”
You swallow nervously. “No.” The guilt swallows you, even though your hand did not strike her down.
  “Are you her friend?”
You try to think if the short time you spend with Hina can be called friendship. “No.” You decide.
The girl fires her arrow, and you quickly dodge it. You glance back to see where the arrow hits and you narrow your eyes. If you were a little slower, she could have gotten your eye.
“Good shot,” you compliment. “Your sister told me to help you for the coming winter. You do not need to trust me, but I can help you. Her last words were focused on you.”
The girl eyes you suspiciously, and despite the grim situation, you break out into an uneasy grin. The shape of her face reminds you of Hina.
“I promise I’ll get out of your hair soon enough. I just want to make good on my promise to Hina. I am of your service for as long as you see fit.”
--
You end up staying with them for a year and a half. You help Hina’s family with hunting and house repairs. When the hunting is fruitful, you help the kids barter for money and other goods through skinned fur and meat that will help them prepare for the seasons. You also teach the kids how to fight, just in case they need to defend themselves. You help chop down firewood and you also fashion two bokkens for Hina’s siblings, and you promise to teach them swordfighting during the summer.
Through Hina’s family, you learn a thing or two about forgiveness and compassion.
Hina’s parents hated you the moment they saw you. They blame you for their daughter’s death. Harsh words usually bounce off of you and in fact, you feed on harsh words because you have an arsenal of your own. Though this time, you choose to ignore their harsh words and practice your tact. Though there are other places you could be, you choose to plant your feet and follow Hina's dying wishes, and that means ensuring that they can live through the fast-approaching winter.
When the harsh winter passes, Hina’s mother gives you a scarf and serves you a bowl of hot soup. Hina’s father offers you their couch to crash on and asks if you could stay with them a bit longer, and look out for their kids.
You could be in other places to pursue your own salvation, but instead, you choose Hina’s family to make it right with.
After the next winter and spring, you leave them, and you head towards Konoha, towards home.
You were not able to erase the bounty over your head, but helping Hina’s family, that finally felt like atonement. It finally felt like your actions are starting to mean more than just fighting and looking out for your own life.
You did not get all the answers you are looking for, but for now, you feel like you are finally on the right track.
You take a deep breath, and look the Hokage in his eyes. It is completely nightfall, and Hashirama has lit a few candles to make the room brighter. You observe his misty eyes and you chuckle to yourself, because despite your absence, nothing has changed.
“I’m sorry for what you’ve gone through,” Hashirama begins, but he does not say anything more, letting a pregnant silence dawn between the two of you.
“You do not have to worry about the bounty over your head,” Hashirama finally says as he settles on his chair again.
Your gaze snaps to Hashirama’s face, on full alert.
“How come?”
Hashirama smiles, and he looks giddy. “My brother pleaded for your case and did some negotiations while you were gone. It is erased. You are free.”
Your jaw drops open in shock. “What?”
Hashirama smiles softly. “You know he feels really bad for what he did to you.”
“I knew it,” you whisper in disbelief.
Hashirama sighs and he taps his chin. “I know you might hate him, and I am not excusing what he did! He is wrong for that. He is so wrong.”
You chuckle and you let out an exasperated sigh.
“My brother and I have countless enemies,” Hashirama explains and he meets your eyes seriously. “You have your own burden to carry and he did not want to add any more by associating your name with his. He wants you to be free and not be tied down by the village to do what you need to do.”
The urge to look for Tobirama and punch him grows stronger. You have forgiven him long ago, but Tobirama seems to have forgotten that communication exists. If he just told you this in the first place, then you wouldn’t have spent the last two years cursing his name in your mind and making you think that he is a horrible person.
“Well, I do hope that you catch him soon so that the two of you can talk,” Hashirama emphasizes the last word. “Knowing my brother, it will take years for him to admit anything true to himself, but he is kind, I can promise you that.”
You let out a laugh, and warmth spreads across your chest. You shake your head with disbelief, and the excitement you feel makes you want to run through the streets of Konoha in joy.
“I will let him know that you are back,” Hashirama promises. He smiles fondly at you. “And Madara has been waiting for your return.”
The mention of your friend makes you start for the door. You can hardly wait to see Madara again. It has been too long. You think you may start crying just thinking of him.
“Lord Hashirama, thank you,” you tell the Hokage sincerely, with all of your heart.
You mean it, and with the bounty lifted and your heart set on the right path, you feel like you have taken a breath of fresh air. You can finally make your new start here, in Konohagakure.
 You are free.

Hi! I was wondering
How do you think Hashirama and Madara would be in a Road to Ninja version?
I remember once reading a Hashimada fic (which I never finished RIP) that was about Madara appearing in the RTN universe and the 3 things that stucked with me were:
1.- Madara was the first Hokage (something that Madara thought was horrible when he saw his sculpted face on the Hokage mountain 🤣)
And personally I think that it would not have been like that even in the RTN universe because we didn't see his face along with the other faces of Hokages in the movie (Yeah, apparently I'm basing myself on a movie which I'm not even sure if it's canon or not, even though Kishimoto wrote it) and the RTN characters didn't seem to even know who Madara is.
2.- Hashirama having his bowlcut as an adult
And I agree with the Madara from that fanfic, it looks awful on him. Hashirama, babe, I'm sorry but the only ones who can rock that style are Guy Sensei and Rock Lee, I know you just were trying to be cool but it doesn't suite you.
3.- Tobirama was a porn writer
Instead of being a fan of forbidden jutsu and creating justus, he wrote porn novels a la Jiraiya. And I'll hold that headcanon with my dead hands.
The only other fanfic that places the founders in the RTN universe is one where the protagonist is Mito (it's an interesting one-shot that pairs her with Itama 🤔)
She was kind of a shy person 🤔? And so it was Tobirama 🤣 which I found fun.
Hashirama, as the first fanfic I mentioned, was the Tobirama of the place (saddenly Madara wasn't in this fic).
So I would like to know what are your versions of the founders (or only Hashirama and Madara if it is too much) in the RTN universe! And how do you think things would be
Hmm, RTN is an interesting concept to me but, to be honest, I don't think Konoha would exist if a lot of personalities got flipped 😂 I haven't read any RTN fics with the founders, but if you, or anyone else, have links at hand I'd love to check them out 👀
1. Madara
Here's the big one and the crux of why I don't think the village would exist. Typically I characterize Madara as an extremely responsible man who internalizes things when he shouldn't, takes himself way too seriously, is aggressive and abrasive even to people he loves sometimes, but genuinely loves the people closest too him. Reversing this would make a character that slacks off, takes no responsibility, and is completely passive in life and has fleeting attachments to others around him. Assuming he wouldn't die on the battlefield, I could see the RTN "alternate" personality coming about of Madara's being so overpowered and competent that he loses interest and distances himself from things before he can get attached and lose them.
It makes building a village very hard though. (At first I was tempted to go RTN Sasuke route and maybe RTN!Madara is a little more openly flirty than canon!Madara, but the passivity and refusal to take responsibility would be the "core" qualities for me.)
2. Hashirama
Hashirama is a bit weird because he has a lot of surface-level "conflicting" traits in canon. He is optimistic but he pushes beyond his natural attitude and uses it as a mask to hide instead of addressing his feelings. He's mischievous, likes jokes and games, and can be a bit hedonistic with his pleasure but can equally be serious when necessary and will willingly sacrifice for others around him. And simultaneously, Hashirama and Madara are connected by a shared sense of idealism but also anger. Hashirama is a very kind, but extremely angry, man. I think a RTN!Hashirama would share a kind of apathy of RTN!Madara but instead of passivity his lack of anger would manifest as cruelty. Because canon!Hashirama is angry but his anger is usually a righteous kind. I don't think RTN!Hashirama would go out of his way to be cruel, but he doesn't have the empathy of canon!Hashirama, especially to others' suffering. He enjoys fighting just a bit too much and has no qualms about killing. In his mind, he should always come first in any situation and prioritizing (or even considering) others' is effort and him going out of his way to be "nice" and the other should be thankful. Similarly if he feels any negative emotion, he won't bottle it up and swallow it down, he'll immediately address it, usually confrontationally. RTN!Hashirama is as intelligent as his canon counterpart but he doesn't suffer fools and he hates it when people underestimate him. He's pretty proud and vain, tbh.
I really don't think the above would make him the "Tobirama" of RTN verse. To me Hashirama and Tobirama have different core values and perspectives and inverting Hashirama's doesn't make it become Tobirama's, if that makes sense. This one is also wordy bc I immediately knew how RTN!Madara would be RTN!Hashirama is a bit harder to pin down. But I hope it's clear why I have doubts about the village existing...maybe if RTN!Hashirama got it in his mind as a pet project for the hell of it, that he'd be a better leader for the country and not just the Senju alone, and RTN!Madara liked the idea of no responsibility and being able to detach even further than he already was? But that's still kind of grasping for a reason.
3. Hashimada
Equally I think any Hashirama/Madara relationship would be ehhh. They definitely wouldn't have the overwhelming bond of their canon counterparts, and it could be a relationship ripe for unhappiness. The closest I can think of to making the ship work is RTN!Madara would be drawn to Hashirama's absurd level of self-confidence and able to let the casual cruelty slide off instead of getting worked up about it. In a way RTN!Hashirama is stable and predictable. If he's pretty overpowered, there's less of a chance RTN!Madara would lose him, so their relationship isn't deep but it's more or less dependable and Madara knows exactly what he's going to get. In contrast RTN!Hashirama has an audience in the form of RTN!Madara and a partner that's not going to push back against his ideas. RTN!Madara doesn't ask for much and he doesn't complain when RTN!Hashirama puts himself first. He doesn't want, or might not be capable of, the deep emotional bond their canon counterparts have. RTN!Madara wouldn't leave Konoha (if it existed) in the AU, because he doesn't really care. If someone upset RTN!Hashirama and he decided to leave to 'do it right' RTN!Madara would probably follow, maybe out of some loyalty for RTN!Hashirama but mostly because it's what's easiest.
4. Tobirama
The core of Tobirama's character to me is prioritizing logic over emotion and both a conscious and unconscious failure to realize he can't completely eliminate emotion. Tobirama loves his brother, he's curious and has a desire to find out what makes things work and is willing to bend morality to get results if it'll serve a greater good. He's very aware of the unfairness of the world but believes it's an unspoken truth of humanity and can only be mitigated through logical means, but never completely erased. He'll be the sacrificial lamb, the one that works in shadows so his brother can have his utopian dream. Despite everything, he loves his genin, the strongest bonds he has aside from Hashirama, and does try to instill in them lessons he think will help them and lead to peace and stability in the village. He's still influenced by the prejudices of his time and can never find it in him to truly forgive the Uchiha.
A RTN!Tobirama would be a man ruled by emotion. Him writing erotica all day definitely could be one way this manifests lol. But overall he's sensitive and spiritual and can't stand the idea of killing. He and RTN!Hashirama don't get along and he actively tries to avoid his brother. RTN!Tobirama has equally strong principles as canon!Tobirama, but they're pacifist in nature and while he likes his studies, he prefers to be out talking to people and learning from them first hand. He's very naive and can be easily taken advantage of and he has trouble focusing on any one thing for too long. No matter how many times this happens, he never can harden his heart or be overly suspicious of others. RTN!Tobirama would most likely be the one support peace in this AU. He embraces the Uchiha and all the Senjus past enemies with open arms, almost to a foolish degree. It'd be a bad idea if he became hokage in this AU because he's a terrible negotiator and has a bad people-pleasing streak and struggles with long-term tactics. With the exception of RTN!Hashirama, who he considers an aberration who doesn't have a soul, humans at their core all have good intentions at heart.
5. Mito
I characterize Mito as a very level-headed woman. Her marriage to Hashirama is political in nature but they grow to be good friends and she never expected to fall in love and she's glad Hashirama didn't want a traditional wife. Mito is devoted to her community work (she works hands-on with people in the village), she seeks out connections with others and, despite the distance, remains close with her family in Uzushio, constantly writing them letters. She's spiritual and follows the Uzumakis' beliefs (not gonna list this OoT spoiler lol) and studies fuinjutsu in her spare time, something she's done since she was a child. She is willing to sacrifice if it meant protecting something she considered greater than herself, much to her own personal detriment. She loves and is proud of her children and grandchildren, but if she had a choice, she would have chosen to remain childless, she finds her true calling elsewhere.
RTN!Mito, similarly to RTN!Tobirama, is ruled by emotions. She dreams of one day making a good marriage for herself and centers romance and being a mother as her ideal life, but she's extremely picky when it comes picking the perfect husband. RTN!Mito knows how much she's worth and she refuses to settle and will not even entertain the idea of an arranged marriage. She has a hard time forming long-lasting, deep bonds with other people and views starting her own family as the solution to this problem. At times she can be a bit absent-minded and unintentionally selfish, but she's not actively malicious. She blusters a lot and depending on the situation can come off as cold and uncaring, but it's only to hide the depth of her true feelings and loneliness. In this AU she would absolutely refuse to marriage RTN!Hashirama. Nothing on hell or earth, could make her change her mind.
Mito is such a blank-slate character it feels like writing an oc more than a canon character, tbh. And this is something I don't see brought up a lot but a "heart full of love" to combat the kyuubi's hatred to me has never been exclusive to romantic or familial (to children) love. *cough* I want a complex female character who's not vilified for not wanting to have children and/or regretting having them *cough* Mito's "love" was for the people of Konoha and Uzushio. My personal headcanon regarding her and Hashirama's child (I don't think she had more than one) was that she was dedicated to her son, but quickly realized being a mother wasn't her dream or something she even actively liked. The kid was well-cared for and she was dutiful towards him, but Hashirama was the parent that loved and embraced him with his whole heart and it led to some tension between Mito and her son as the kid could tell the difference and neither of them were "wrong" to feel the way they did. This is why Tsunade was shown with Hashirama instead of Mito, he was a lot more present in her life when she was young (instead of Kishi just not having made Mito as a character yet). But after Hashirama and Tsunade's dad died (and then Nawaki), she and Mito grew close but it was definitely more of a friendship or student/mentor relationship rather than a traditional grandmother/granddaughter relationship but both were satisfied with it and loved eachother. Likewise I didn't want RTN!Mito's characterization to be shallow and hit misogynistic undertones with her being an "opposite" to Mito's calm, level-headed, focused on her work/passions characterization.
6. Closing thoughts
#1: Wow this got long #2: I feel conflicted about RTN because it seemed to flip surface-level characteristics instead of deep characterizations, and ignored flaws altogether. The ones above, esp. Hashirama and Madara's, are kind of dark in a way? But that's the only way it makes sense to me...Gai and Lee caring about style and being stylish is a funny joke but if you were to actually poke and prod and say their personalities were inverted, neither of them would be top-notch ninja as we know...unless I'm just completely misremembering RTN because I realize it's been years since I saw it lol. Anyway, hope this was entertaining!

why your op sakura au’s are valid (imo)
One of the best and most creative things I’ve seen come from the Sakura fandom are the power up/background exploration AU’s that take Sakura--the heroine who was woefully underdeveloped compared to Sasuke and Naruto--and give her the limelight that Sasuke and Naruto’s locus took from her extremely early on. Two of the best (and likely, the most popular) AU’s I’ve seen are the Slug Sage and Mokuton AU’s, oftentimes blended together. As for background, sometimes people popularly make her a secret Senju, or a distantly related Uzumaki. Or, she’s given other things altogether.
Frankly speaking, whatever twist she’s given, it’s awesome to see. I love seeing what people come up with, no matter the ship or not, time period--you name it.
Thing is, these AU’s cause a lot of mixed opinions. The stans often say she deserved better, that she was too underdeveloped. Anti’s say that people who do are self-inserting and want to make her into a Mary Sue.
Here’s my controversial opinion: have you considered the possibility that there’s actually a canon precedent to it? Yes, I have the balls to say this.
Read on and I’ll show you what I mean.
Inheriting the strength of a Sannin, as part of the Neo-Sannin
Tumblr media
One motif that many people can agree with is the fact that, very early on, the notion of Team 7 being the next Sannin after the originals were foreshadowed for years. That they were would not only inherit their abilities, but surpass them.
Tumblr media
Volume 66, cover
By the war itself, we see this realized when Hiruzen--the Sannin’s original team captain and teacher--affirmed that Team 7 had indeed fulfilled this expectation and became the next generation of Sannin, sometimes known as the Neo-Sannin by the fandom.
Tumblr media
Something constantly affirmed by canon in regards to Sakura specifically (as emphasized in this wonderful meta by @midgetmeredith) is the fact that she did indeed come to surpass Tsunade in both strength and medical ability, something constantly reinforced by those who both admire, knew, and were even contested against Konoha’s Slug Princess and also by Tsunade herself.
Tumblr media
Chapter 246, as said by Kakashi.
Tumblr media
Chapter 279, by Chiyo, Tsunade’s rival during the Second Shinobi World War; Tsunade was the only person who could foil Chiyo’s poisoning prowess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 632, emphasizing Sakura surpassing and inheriting Tsunade’s power.
Tumblr media
Chapter 634, by Shizune, Tsunade’s apprentice who personally learned from Tsunade just as Sakura had.
My point being, canon absolutely solidifies the fact of Sakura surpassing and inheriting Tsunade’s power, although this a dead horse that has been beaten and reaffirmed and not the point of this meta.
What does it mean to be a Sannin?
(Below scan originally from Narutoversity.)
Tumblr media
As stated in the Second Databook, to be a Sannin means that each individual Sannin are of equal ability and might to each other.
“Explosive spirit and unique power!
Jiraya’s manly fighting valor, Orochimaru’s individual talents, Tsunade’s monster power and supreme knowledge of medical jutsus. During fights, their skills would increase thrice fold and create stories of great battlefield deeds. Especially, places of battle where the three fought together were their own stage. Stories of their battlefield deeds have evolved into legends. As there will no longer be days when the three will fight alongside each other, the flower of their legend is the more dazzling.
Jiraiya: Serious but deadly eyes! Are the only ones who can fight against the Sannin the Sannin themselves?
Tsunade: Her power is like that of a god of war.
Orochimaru: Like a reflection of his way of life, his fighting skills are cruel to the extreme.”
- Second Databook, translation from Narutoversity.
As stated here, to be a Sannin means to be equal in power, that no individual Sannin is more powerful than each other. More than that, only a Sannin can hope to take down a Sannin.
Tumblr media
As stated by Ebisu shortly after Jiraiya’s return in the aftermath of the Konoha Crush.
Tumblr media
As said by Jiraiya during the Three-Way Deadlock in part 1.
Tumblr media
“A lonely blossom that flowered in Konoha! Tsunade is the strongest Kunoichi in Konoha history, every bit a match for Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Her whereabouts – indeed, her survival – are currently a mystery, but her name blossoms in the noble inclusion of the shinobi.”
- The Naruto Secret: Scroll of Soldiers Official Fanbook by Masashi Kishimoto (Original scan & translation is from amitDS.)
When the Neo-Sannin stopped being equal
Tumblr media
Volume 70, cover
Tumblr media
Chapter 670
In the interlude between their deaths and revival, Naruto and Sasuke learn that they’re something known as “transmigrants” from Hagoromo, specifically of his sons...
Tumblr media
Chapter 670
...Asura and Indra Otsutsuki.
Tumblr media
Chapter 671
And as we continue to learn, not only are they the reincarnations of Asura and Indra, but they inherited their immense chakra as well.
Now, let’s recap what makes Naruto and Sasuke so special in the first place, up to this point:
Naruto: The son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, sealed with the Kyuubi, not only did he inherit unique and potent chakra from his mother--who’d been originally brought to Konoha because of it and her life force--but was also the jinchuuriki before him of Kurama, the most powerful bijuu, the Kyuubi. Minato was known as the “Yellow Flash” as the previous Hokage was the prodigiously known for his terrifying ability on the battlefield. Also Jiraiya’s student who surpassed him. Naruto is also Asura’s reincarnation, and as we see above, inherited his massive chakra and life force. And, he possesses the Six Paths Yang Power, as well as 3 different sage modes (Toad, Tailed Beast, and Six Paths).
Sasuke: The son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha, the then clan head of the Uchiha, Sasuke is often likened to Madara himself, and confirmed as such by Tobirama and Kurama, the latter stating that Sasuke’s chakra feels identical to Madara. Inheritor of Orochimaru’s power and Indra’s chakra, possessor of the Sharingan, Eternal Mengekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan and all the powers associated with it. He also was the recipient of the Six Paths Yin Pwer.
Really, this list could go on with how many powers Naruto and Sasuke gain outside of what they inherit from the Sannin. Sakura? Yeah, not so much.
Essentially, we go from this...
Tumblr media
Chapter 631
...to this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ch. 670
To clarify, Sasuke and Naruto being the focus of the story isn’t a bad thing. Their bond is integral to the story; however, we were promised the Neo-Sannin.  Who, as I stated before, were supposed to be equal in strength and might like their predecessors whose motif was integral to the story long before the struggle between reincarnated brothers was even an unwritten idea in Kishimoto’s mind.
Basically? If you’re going to promise us this...
Tumblr media
...don’t reduce it to this and keep it that way.
Tumblr media
Give us the Neo-Sannin we were promised that could stand on equal ground together, no matter how much time had passed or how far apart fate and other circumstances drove them apart.
Closing Thoughts
Basically, the entire point I’m trying to prove here is that we were promised the Neo-Sannin, but were denied it in the same, final arc. While Sasuke and Naruto got godly power ups, and continue to get (anyone catch Naruto’s new Baryon Mode in the Boruto manga that’s even more powerful than what he’s gotten from Hagoromo?), Sakura stays much the same. And while she’s comfortably at the top of her game by Boruto, as the world’s strongest med-nin and Tsunade’s successor, she’s greatly outclassed by Sasuke and Naruto. Anti and stan alike agree with this, so yeah.
This why Sakura deserves AU’s where she becomes as powerful as Naruto and Sasuke. Slug Sage, Mokuton, secret Senju--you name it.
Canon promised us the Neo-Sannin, which we didn’t get. So, why can’t we have it in fanon at the very least?

The Founders’ hairs and how take care of them 💕
(I’ve said I was going to be more active during weekend but here I am showing up only now shame on me)
So this blog has now +200 followers! Yay! To the ones who follow me since the start: thank you for being here with me!! And to the ones who just arrived: welcome to my blog! It’s good to have you here!!
So, to celebrate this conquer I decided to post this list of headcanons about the Founders’ hairs and how to take care of them lol This idea has been in the back of my mind for a long time but I didn't have the time nor the courage to write it. I feel like we don't talk about this as much as we should, so here it is 💜
Fandom: Naruto | Founders

Hashirama 🌳
God just look at this hair 💜💜💜
You can’t just say you wouldn’t like to take care of it
And you’re lucky, bc Hashi would love to have someone to do this task for him, so if you’d volunteer the answer would be YES
Now, assuming that you’re his s/o: it’s not that he's unable to take care of his own hair, but he appreciates this gesture of yours
When you two have some time to chill at home, he likes to sit in front of you while you are on a chair or something so you can brush his hair
Hashirama has long, thin hair, so that it gets easily oily and dirty. It can be more difficult during summer or when he needs to leave the village to travel through arid places (and ofc after battles), because he can’t carry all the necesssary products with him (and he would never get the time he needs to use them anyway) 😢
Because his hair is thin, it needs to be washed often, or it will get too sweaty and dirty and no one wants that. As I said before, arid environments are a problem, bc the dust can cling to the strands and it all can get messy
Lucky him that you are at home when he comes back ❤
Start washing his scalp. Maybe you’d need to do this two or three times, depending on the state of things. Do not scrub it or it will get sore (plus it will increase the hair loss)
Be careful while washing the length and the ends: thin hair can easily break when we apply too much strength against it
You can use a towel to remove the excess of water, but it’s better to let it dry naturally. It will not get too long, specially on hot days
His hair is straight, so there’s no need to use heat to style it. Just combing it is enough
If you want to use some product to protect it from heat, dust and to keep it hydrated, that’s great! But be careful: do not use much product or the oiliness will get worse. And of course, never apply cream, oils or anything in the roots 😉
About the cut: Hashirama has nothing against short hair, but the vision of scissors getting too close to his hair is terrifying to him. So if he ever lets you hold a scissor near him, he will only let you trim the ends (and he will definitely hold a mirror to see what you’re doing)

Tobirama 🌊
You wanna try and take care of his hair? Good luck bro lmao
I personally think that he never does anything with his hair besides washing it and passing his fingers through it before putting his happuri
And the reason for that is simple: Tobirama has thick, bristly hair and he doesn’t know what to do about it
Plus he doesn’t have much time to think of what to do
So when you suggested that you could take care of his hair, his first reaction was 😵 but then he thought about it and ended up saying yes
And ofc you were more than happy lol
First place: his hair is thick. Not textured, but thick. So you have to be patient
Sometimes it will be necessary to wash it twice to see the shampoo making some bubbles. But once you achieve it, just focus on doing a scalp massage
Tobi will love it. You know, he’s very stressed bean, so a massage will be welcome 💜
But be careful to not scrub his scalp not matter how much he begs you to do it
About fragrances, creams, etc.: he’s not against something that smells good and can make his hair softer, but do not exaggerate. He will not appreciate strong fragrances
Because his hair is thick, it will not get dry so quickly. Here you have two options: using heat or asking him to use his control over water to make it evaporate
The same principles of patience and gentleness apply to the brushing session: start with the ends and then go for the length. Never, NEVER start with the roots
Here’s an observation: in the first day, Tobirama’s hair will be more bristly than normal because the washing process removes part of the natural oils. But don’t worry, because everything will be back to normal in the day after

Madara 🔥
So, Madara’s hair. MADARA’S HAIR. Omg.
Taking care of his hair is something that happened just like anything else in your relationship: it started as an innocent favor, but now it turned into a serious ritual
You always knew that Madara loves his hair. It’s literally an extension of him. It represents much of the person he is, so he is very proud of it. It is the closest thing from vanity you can find in him
One day, still in your first year together, he came home and you noticed he had some small leaves and tugs clinging on his hair
It was a bit funny that given the amount of hair Madara has, it was something you should expect to see often, but you never thought of it until then 😅
Somehow you sensed that pointing out the current state of his hair would hurt his pride, so you acted careful: you approached him, hugging him from behind, and started stroking his front strands. You pretended you just found a leaf there and offered to take it and all the rest out. At first, Madara found it weird bc he always did it by himself, but he accepted it anyway. It was how it all started
It's like a domestic task that you take it more seriously than the others
You start taking the twigs, leaves and grass out, which takes quite some time. Bc of the knots, you can’t do it fast otherwise everything would become a torture session for you bb
After taking them out, you separate his hair in smaller sections to unravel some of the easier knots. You have to start from the ends to prevent the break of the strands. Only then you can actually wash it
Bc Madara doesn't like the deep fragrances they put in traditional hair products, you had to develop a homemade formula with some herbs you had in your backyard. You were afraid that you’d never be able to make enough product for the lots of hair on that Uchiha head, but fortunately you have a wide garden 🌿
It's probably the calmest moment of his day, when he just stands there sitting in front of you while your delicate hands do the work
Madara has thick, textured hair. And yeah, bc of its thickness, it is heavy (only someone as strong as him would be able to maintain it).You need to be careful on how you handle it even when it's wet
Btw it takes too long for it to get dry naturally, so some heat is allowed
I said some heat not a Katon technique for God sake
It’s better not having it 100% dry to brush it, so when it’s half wet you can separate it in thick sections and comb the edges of each of them slowly and patiently. Then you can divide it in smaller sections to brush their length
Bc it’s thick and long, it doesn’t get a lot for his hair to go back to its normal aspect once it’s washed and clean, so this is basically everything you need to do to take care of it. It might seem easy but this is just a summary: the truth is that you must be prepared to spend hours on this task
(But I don’t think you’d complain right)

You were about to explode! How dare he?! Today had been one of these days where Tobirama had let you out of the house, presenting your ‘perfect’ relationship to the village. It was always very tiring to keep a poker face on during these times, needing to look like you were happy with him even though it was the complete opposite! But these were the only times where he let you out willingly so you always played along. But this was too much. You might ask yourself what had happened? Well, Tobirama had asked you in front of the whole village to marry him. He was still kneeling in front of you and around you a huge crowd had formed, the women squealing and saying that they wished they had a boyfriend like him as well and the men muttering that their Hokage was such a charmer. Oh, if only they knew what a bastard this guy was in reality! You knew that he had planned this from the smug look in his eyes. He knew that there was no way that you could reject him in front of all these people who were just staring at the two of you and waiting for your answer. With the last bit of your will power you forced a smile on your face from which you hoped it looked realistic enough and tried to answer as enthusiastic as possible:”Yes! I would love to marry you!” As soon as you had said these words everyone started cheering. Tobirama gave you a smile and slowly slides the ring on your finger. “You two look great together!”, someone called from the crowd and a huge grin made it’s way on Tobirama’s face which you desperately wanted to punch away, but you bit your tongue. Not here! Not now! You needed to hold on for a bit longer!
“Kiss her!” Your head quickly snapped into direction of the person who had said this, almost wanting to beg her to not make you endure something like this. But sadly this one sentence had lit a fire in the crowd and by now all of them were chanting:”Kiss her! Kiss her! Kiss her!” You didn’t even dare to look at Tobirama, already being able to imagine the smug smile on his face. The next moment he grabbed you by your waist and pulled you in for a rough kiss. At first you refused to kiss back, but when he added a bit more pressure to your waist you knew that this was a silent warning. Worried about what he would do if you didn’t listen to him you started to kiss him angrily back, feeling him smirk in the kiss. This asshole was enjoying every moment of it! You heard many people sigh blissfully when they saw you like this, mumbling about how lucky you were to be Tobirama’s fiancée. Lucky?! Lucky, your ass! When he pulled back he had a more than satisfied look on his face. He intertwined his fingers with you and told you in a sweet tone from which you knew it was fake:”(y/n), let’s go home now.” “Yeah, let’s go.” You replied, feeling glad that you didn’t need to hold your ‘happy girlfriend image’ for much longer. “Just you wait when we get home!!”, your brain screamed completely pissed of.
During the whole way back every villager you passed by busily complimented the two of you, wishing you all the luck of the world and how amazing the both of you looked together. Even though Tobirama didn’t show it that much you knew that he felt proud that the villagers thought this. He liked it a lot when people told him that the both you looked good together, it gave him the feeling that the village thought that nothing was wrong with your relationship when in reality everything was wrong! But of course he ensured that no one would find this out. And anyone who did somehow got suspicious was quickly taken care of by him, having suddenly much more worse problems than worrying about the relationship of the Hokage.
As soon as you reached your house again and Tobirama closed the door you started exploding. “You damn asshole!!! Bastard, why the hell did you confess in front of the whole village?!?!?! How dare you to force me to agree to a marriage by using the village as pressure!!!! You knew that I couldn’t reject you in front of them!!!!” Tobirama listened calmly to all of your yelling, having expected this. “I knew that you would never agree to this if I would just have asked you in private so confessing in front of the village was the easiest way to say get you to say yes. I also did it to make sure that everyone would know. I’m sure by now the news have spread around.” You didn’t miss the satisfied tone in his face. You hated how confident he always was in himself! You hated how he always thought that he could win against you! “I won’t marry you! I’d rather die than do that!” He scoffed amused and replied:”The whole village knows by now that you’ve said yes to my proposal. You can’t take that back now. What would the villagers think?” The teasing tone in his voice made you boil with anger and in your range you angrily hissed at his face:”I don’t care what they’ll think about me!! I know that you want to show me off when we marry so I bet you’ll want a big marriage where the whole village will participate after!! Well then, listen here jerk!! I’ll reject you in front of the whole village then!! Even if the whole village hates me after that as long as I don’t need to live with you I’m willing to endure that!!”
On Tobirama’s face was a harsh and cold look presented, telling you that you had pissed him off. He grabbed your chin tightly with one of his hands and pulled your face closer to his. “You think you can act like a brat? If you even dare to pull a stunt like this I’ll make sure that you’ll regret it.” His voice was very strict what enraged you even more. “Just watch me!”, you yelled angrily and freed yourself from his grip, wanting to storm upstairs, but his next sentences made you stop. “Do you remember this old friend of yours? What was her name, Aika or something like this? I heard she recently opened her own shop and it looks good for her. It would be a shame if suddenly something would happen that might ruin her, don’t you think so? Some rumors would be all it takes.” No! Not this move again! “Let’s try it again.”, Tobirama spoke to you,”What will you do when we’re standing in front of the altar?” You gritted your teeth, feeling frustrated that you had lost once again against him. “I’ll say yes.” “See. Was that so hard?”, he questioned you teasingly. Your eyebrow twitched. If you wouldn’t get away from him in the very next second you knew that you would most likely attack him and try to strangle him so you quickly stormed upstairs, straight into the bathroom. You slammed the door behind you closed and ripped open the drawer where the key was, locking the door. After you had made sure that no one could interrupt you, you let all your anger out without needing to worry about anything else.
You were sitting on the ground, panting for air. The bathroom looked terrible, looking like a typhoon had hit it. Everything was thrown around, being angrily thrown around by you. You had grabbed everything you had been able to find and had thrown it against the wall, trying to calm your anger down like this. And you weren’t angry anymore, but instead a new emotion started stirring up inside of you. Misery. It was quickly engulfing you, making you feel even worse than you already did. It was so unfair! It was unfair that Tobirama had always the upper hand against you! It was unfair that he always knew that he would get you to do what he wanted! It was unfair that you were weaker than him! IT WAS UNFAIR! Without even realizing it you started sobbing, letting tears freely flow from your eyes. You couldn’t bear the frustration inside of you anymore. You could never win. It was hopeless. So you just curled up in a ball and cried your heart out.
Your crying session was suddenly by a ‘Click’ sound interrupted and you heard how the door opened. Of course this guy had an extra key to the bathroom. “I hope you know that it’s your job to clean all this...” He became quiet when he saw you bawling your eyes out. He slowly stepped closer to you, but you yelled at him:”Go away!! Don’t you think you’ve already tortured me enough today?!?!” You grabbed the next best thing that you could find, what happened to be a hairbrush and threw it after him. He dodged it with ease and continued to step closer to you until he stood right in front of you. “Just start teasing me! Come on, tell me how pathetic I look like!! Tell me that it’s absolutely stupid to cry over this! Degrade me like you always do! I don’t care! I’ve had enough of your bullshit!!” You glared at him with your tear smeared face, expecting him to have a cold glare in his face or a teasing look, but none of this was present. Instead he had a shocked and almost hurt expression on his face. He bent down to look you directly in the eyes. (y/n)...I...” He didn’t get to finish his sentence because you continued to scream at him:”I hate your arrogant attitude!! I hate how you always use my family and friends against me to keep me in check!! I hate my life!! And most of all I hate you!! You call yourself the Hokage?!?! You’re just a cruel monster who has fun to make my life a living hell!!! You-“
Suddenly Tobirama pulled you in a tight hug and you immediately started hitting his chest. “Let me go!! Don’t you get it!! I hate you!! I’d rather die than spend one more-“ “Please stop.” The hurt in his voice froze you. “Please stop screaming. Stop saying such things.” Tobirama had a desperation in his voice that you had never known he possessed. You stopped hitting him, instead you just started to continue crying in his chest. Tobirama didn’t say anything, he just tightened his hug and the only thing that was heard were your quiet sobs. Even after you had calmed down a bit and had stopped crying Tobirama didn’t let you go. For a while both of you just sat there in silence before Tobirama asked you something. “Tell me, is love supposed to be...this passionate?”
You tensed up when he asked you this, not sure about what exactly he meant before you realized it. “N-no.”, you stuttered out,”But I guess you already know that.” “You’re right. I know that my feelings aren’t normal in the last bit. They’re wrong, but I can’t fight them. I-I know that I can sometimes be really harsh and mean, but please never forget that I do really love you. I just have troubles to show it sometimes.” Was this...an apology? You slowly looked up to get a better look on his face. He had a guilty and sad expression on his face. “...An apology won’t give me back my old life nor will it help the people which’s lifes you already ruined. Because of this I’ll never be able to forgive you. It’s your fault for making me hate you.”’ you answered tiredly and with bitterness in your voice.
Tobirama pressed his lips together, looking hurt once again. He let a deep sigh out. “Let’s just get earlier to bed, alright?” You just shrugged, having lost all of your motivation. Tobirama gently lifted you up in his arms and carried you out of the bathroom. “What is with all the chaos inside there? Didn’t you tell me earlier that I’m supposed to clean it up?” “I’ll do it tomorrow myself.” You felt slightly surprised by his act of kindness, but decided to not get your hopes too high up. As soon as you reached your bedroom Tobirama quickly layed you down and tugged you gently in before laying down himself. Just now you realized how tired you really were, exhausted from your tantrum and all the crying. This was probably the reason why you didn’t complain when Tobirama pulled you closer so that your back was pressed against his chest. “(y/n)?”, he called your name softly. Too tired to really say anything you just hummed. “Hmm?” For a few seconds it became quiet before he said something that you had never expected him to say, especially not to you. “I...I’m sorry.”
