You stood near the wall, arms crossed, in the house of number four Privet Drive, the place where it all began for one of your closest friends, Harry Potter. The group of you were gathered in the empty living room, discussing the highly dangerous plan of transporting Harry safely to the Burrow.
Beside you stood the twins, listening intently as Mad-Eye Moody instructed orders.
Seven of them had just taken polyjuice potion, resulting in seven 'Harry's', all in accordance with Moody's plan.
“Right then, we’ll be pairing off. Each ‘Potter’ will have a protector and to make it simpler for you, I'll choose the pairs.” His mismatched eyes scanned the group, assigning pairs, and an aggravating pit settled in your stomach once Moody called out your name, “Y/N, you're with Fred.”
Your head snapped toward Fred, who groaned audibly.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” He muttered, but George nudged him softly, urging him to be tolerable while they changed out of their regular clothes.
“Yeah yeah, happy to be paired up with you too.” you rolled your eyes, the sarcasm in your tone apparent.
Fred and you had never gotten along. Since your days at Hogwarts, the two of you had been like oil and water—always at odds. He thought you were too uptight, too rule-abiding, while you found him utterly insufferable, reckless, and far too smug for his own good.
But for Harry, you’d endure today. He'd done a great deal to help you throughout your years at Hogwarts, so it was only fair of you to return the favour.
“Head for the Burrows, we’ll rendezvous there!” Moody finished. The room stirred with movement as everyone prepared for what was to come.
Outside, the night air was cool as you mounted Fred’s broom behind him. The scent of his cologne, something warm and woodsy, hit your nose, and you hated that you thought it smelled decent, inhaling a bit more. You hesitated for a moment before wrapping your arms around his waist, well, 'Harry's' waist.
Fred stiffened slightly at your touch, “Don’t get too comfortable back there.”
“Oh, believe me, I won’t.”
Before you could snap back another remark, he kicked off into the sky, soaring above London, splitting up from the others.
Everything was eerily silent for a few moments. The flight seemed too smooth for your liking. You kept an alert eye, constantly scanning your surroundings.
You caught a shadow in the corner of your eye, and you whipped your head around, squinting your eyes at the figure in the dark.
"What the..." You muttered.
"Fred go faster...." You ordered, losing sight of the shadowy figure.
"Why don't you come fly the broom then." He retorted, clearly annoyed.
"Fred! I"m serious!" You yelled, gripping his waist tighter, as he exhaled before picking up the pace.
"In case you forgot, I need to be able to breathe to fly this thing properly." He grunted as you practically squeezed every breath out of him.
"Right, sorry," You loosened your grip ever so slightly, "...it's just, I swear I saw something."
You turned around again, catching a glimpse of a shadowy figure. The shadow was no longer a mystery figure but a person, or, three people rather.
Death Eaters.
"Oh shit! Fred! They're here!" You took your wand out and began fighting with them.
Spells shot through the night, streaks of green and blue illuminating the sky like a twisted fireworks display. The death eaters had appeared out of nowhere, zooming in, attacking viciously as they trailed behind you on their brooms.
“They’re following us!” you shouted over the wind, turning back around to gauge Fred.
“Oh, really? Thought we were just out for a lovely evening flight,” he shot back sarcastically, dodging a hex just in time.
You rolled your eyes but focused on firing spells behind you, hitting one death eater square in the chest and sending him spiralling downward.
"Stupefy!" You shouted, casting the second death eater off his broom. Two down, one to go.
Just as you felt a moment of victory, another spell whizzed past, striking the broom.
The wood splintered with a sickening crack. "Uhh, Fred?" You called out, glancing at the broom.
“Hold on—” Fred barely got the words out before the broom snapped completely, and the two of you plummeted toward the Thames River.
You hit the water hard, the impact knocking the wind out of you. You kicked frantically, breaking the surface and gasping for air. The coolness of the water had your body in shock, shivering as you forced yourself to stay afloat.
Fred emerged a second later, coughing.
Glancing above, you saw the third death eater laughing maliciously as he flew off, leaving you and Fred. He must've figured it wasn't the real Harry, given that you called him 'Fred'.
“Great! Look what you’ve done!” you accused, treading water furiously.
“What I’ve done?! That was you—you were supposed to be fighting them off!” he retorted, his wet hair plastered to his forehead. He had transformed back into his original self, the fiery redhead Fred you knew.
You groaned, swimming toward the embankment where a set of stone stairs led to dry land. Your fingers were frozen as you pulled yourself up, collapsing onto the pavement. Fred followed, shaking out his drenched hair like a dog.
“Brilliant. Just brilliant,” you muttered, clutching one-half of the broken broom while he had the other. “Now how are we supposed to get to the others?”
Fred sighed, pushing his hair back. “Let’s just go somewhere dry first.”
You nodded begrudgingly, too cold and exhausted to argue.
When you emerged from the river, it was given that pedestrians would stare at the two of you strangely. Swimming in the Thames River wasn't exactly the most normal thing to do, let alone at this hour.
Though, in this particular instance, more of them were starring at you, rather than Fred.
Fred cleared his throat, eyes darting down to your chest then back up before averting his eyes immediately.
You furrowed your brows, glancing down, only to remember that you were wearing a white shirt along with the worst possible undergarment to pair with it, a black bra.
You felt your cheeks heat up, as you covered your chest, "Let's just go..."
Fred shook his head, taking off the grey jacket he wore and putting it over you, "Here."
Though still wet, it offered the coverage you much needed and you were entirely grateful. "Thanks." You muttered softly, as you two began walking.
"Figured you wouldn't want to walk around flashing the whole of London."
The two of you walked in silence as you tried to figure out a way to get to the others. “We can apparate—” he started.
“Absolutely not. There are muggles everywhere,” you snapped, nodding to the late-night pedestrians strolling along the streets.
Fred scoffed, shooting you an eye-roll. “Alright, Professor McGonagall.”
You ignored him, scanning the area. A small, dingy-looking hotel caught your eye. Without another word, you trudged toward it, Fred trailing behind. The receptionist, a bored-looking woman in her mid 40s, barely glanced up as you approached the desk.
The hotel looked cheap enough for an overnight stay. All you needed to do was clear your mind and get a good night's rest before figuring things out in the morning; yes, that sounded ideal to you right this moment.
“Two rooms, please,” you said firmly.
She tapped at the keyboard, chewing on some gum as she did so. “We’re fully booked.”
Your heart sank. “What about one room? With two beds?”
"Sorry, we're full." She continued typing, then clicking on the mouse as she looked around the screen, "It's peak season honey, we're always maxed out."
"Please you've got to have at least one room, with two beds, anything?" You pleaded, desperate for whatever you could acquire.
"We'll take whatever we can get, you've got to have something." Fred added, backing you up as he stood closer to you.
She checked again, then looked at you, eyes lighting up. “Ah, it seems that we do have one left with two beds, but the heating is broken, that's why we didn't offer it to customers. Actually, I was supposed to call the maintenance guy, but he's my ex, you see, so it's a bit of a rough story. I always thought he loved me, you know, how could someone not, I mean look at me? I'm gorgeous. He was supposed to come by today but we—”
"We'll take it!" Fred interjected swiftly, clearly exhausted. "Thank you."
Relief flooded you as you he paid with muggle money. You were surprised he even had some on hand, but after all, he was a businessman.
"Interesting, all this muggle stuff eh?" Fred mused, as you both entered the lift, his eyes darting around as he observed his surroundings.
"I suppose so, yeah. I guess I was lucky enough to be born a half-blood, you get the best of both worlds." You shrugged, as though hotels and 'muggle elevators' were the most natural thing in the world.
"Alright then, you lead the way, Ms expert." He mocked, gesturing for you to lead the way once the doors opened.
You scoff softly, marching down the hallway before finding your room number. Fred reaches seconds after you, looping his arm around your body to swipe the keycard.
He placed an arm on the door to open it, letting you in first before closing it after he entered.
But the moment you entered the room, your jaw dropped.
One bed.
“What? She said there were two beds.” You blinked, looking around the room in confusion.
“She must’ve meant the couch,” Fred said, nodding toward the small, lumpy-looking couch a few inches beside the bed, by the window.
You swallowed, “Right, well, who's sleeping where?” Honestly, at this point, you didn't even mind taking the couch, as long as you could get some rest.
Fred's eyes darted from the bed to the couch, exhaling exasperatedly before finally looking at you, "I'll take the couch."
"I didn't know Fred Weasley had manners?" You gasped, faking your amusement.
He shot you a glare, grabbing a towel as he did so, "Could you be any more aggravating?"
You tried to think of a witty comeback, something, anything to get a reaction out of him. But alas, you were lost for words. He did have a point though.
Come to think about it, you realised that you might've only been behaving this way because you were not used to him being so much of a...gentleman. This was foreign to you.
"I'll have the first shower." He shifts past you, nudging your shoulder, which sends heat through your bodies temporarily.
“Be my guest.”
You hear the lock shut, and seconds later, the water starts running.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, you took in your surroundings. This was no five-star hotel, but it was presentable and decent enough for an overnight stay. The walls are dark grey, with ambient lighting all around the room. Navy blue sheets grace the double bed, with a soft brown leather footer in contrast. There is a tea tray and a kettle, on top of the dark brown desk that sat in the corner of the room.
Minutes later, the door clicks and unlocks.
Fred steps out, a white towel hanging around his waist. His hair is wet, and his body glistening with water droplets. Your eyes couldn't help but drift down, his body was incredible defined, a stark contrast to your school days when he was merely a boy, now, he was a man.
Oh, he definitely works out. You noticed his arms, much larger and buffer than they used to be.
"All yours." He jerked his chin to the bathroom.
You gulped, brushing past him before hurriedly entering the bathroom and locking the door.
Wow, since when did Fred Weasley get so, attractive?
The hot water was a blessing, washing away the cold. You stood under the steamy shower for a couple of minutes, taking in as much warmth as you could.
With no new clothes to change into, you wrapped yourself in the plush hotel bathrobe, sighing in frustration. It appears there was only a kids sized one left, and you had no choice but to wear it. Whatever, it’ll do the job for tonight.
You hung your wet clothes on one of the bathroom racks, and you saw that Fred did the same, you placed your clothes beside his.
You were humming to yourself when you stepped out, relieved to be in some dry clothes, dancing a little as you strolled to the bed.
When he heard you walking, Fred glanced up, something flickering in his expression, though you're not quite sure what.
“That bathrobe is way too small for you." He remarks, laying with his legs out on the couch, two arms behind his head as he rests.
"What was I supposed to do, wear my wet clothes to sleep?" You respond as you hop into bed, tugging the covers and snuggling in.
"It could be an enlightening experience." He hummed, as he shut his eyes, adjusting himself on the couch.
"You try it then." You counter, scoffing at his idiocy.
The curtains are drawn, and the lights are dim. Silence fills the room as you both unwind for the evening. Before you shut the lights from the switch beside your bed, you call out, "I'm going to off the lights now, need anything before I turn them off?"
"Yeah actually..." He perks his head up, turning to face you.
"What?" You ask, listening keenly.
"For you to be quiet." A small smile played on his lips as he laid back down.
You rolled your eyes, before hitting the lights.
"Good night." He cooed.
You lay there, tossing and turning, but you couldn't seem to fall asleep for the life of you. It didn't help that the room was so cold, due to the heater being unfixed.
Minutes passed in silence before you turned your head slightly. Fred was stretched out on the tiny couch, his long legs dangling uncomfortably over the armrest.
It was evident that he was way too tall to fit on all that, he did not look the slightest bit comfortable.
“See something you like?” Fred smirked, feeling your stare though his eyes were shut.
“What? No! I was just—”
“Just what? Admiring this handsome face?”
"Honestly Fred, how conceited are you?" You sat up now, shooting daggers at him. As much as you hated to admit it, he was, in fact, handsome. Annoyingly so.
Truth be told, had he not been so irritating, you might've actually considered dating him.
You loved the Weasleys, Ginny was like a sister to you, Ron, your close friend, George, always on the lookout for you. He even took you down to Hogsmeade for a meal and bought you treats when you cried over one of the Slytherin boys rejecting you back in your fourth year.
But Fred, oh Fred, you could never see eye to eye with him. You only ever tolerated him because his family was so warm and welcoming.
A tiny part of you felt guilty that he was forced onto the couch, despite being the one that paid for the room.
You wanted to offer the place beside you to him, seeing that the bed was larger than anticipated once you were actually tucked in.
"Well you are staring, something you need?" He countered, his eyes are still shut, arms still behind his head.
"Well, I was thinking...." You hesitated, "well, you could sleep on the bed. It's actually more spacious than I thought."
His brows shot up, and he opened his eyes, turning to face you. “In the bed? With you?”
“Don’t make it weird, Fred,” you huffed. “The couch looks uncomfortable.”
"Are you, being nice to me?" He teased, the urge to take back your offer growing stronger.
"Don't make me change my mind, Weasley."
After a beat, he groaned. “Fine. But don’t hog the covers.”
"Please I sleep like a log, it's not like I'm going to cuddle you or anything."
"Cuddle me eh?" He mused.
"Not bloody likely, besides you're too annoying to be my type." You retort.
Fred stood up, walking to the other side of the bed. He slid in beside you, and the bed suddenly felt too small. You kept your back to him, but quickly got up and put one of the spare pillows between you.
"See this line? Don't cross it and you're good." You commanded, and he chuckled lightly,
"Alright alright." He raised in hands.
You turned away from him, back to him as you attempted to fall asleep. You hadn't realised how far you were from him, you were practically tipping over the edge of the bed.
You scooted inside a little, bumping into the pillow wall you put.
After what seemed like hours of tossing and turning, you sighed in defeat. The room was cold, and the blankets were not much help.
You couldn't help but wonder if you were the only one awake. You extended your arm behind you, trying to find the pillow 'wall' you had put up. But with all the tossing and turning from the two of you, the pillow must've slipped out of place and down the lower half of the bed somewhere.
As you extended your arm behind you, you accidentally came into contact with Fred's back, and he shifted slightly before turning to face you instead.
It's dark, almost pitch black, but with the small glimmer of light, you can see that his eyes are shut. Curious you called out, "Fred?" you whispered. "Are you awake?"
"I am now, no thanks to you." He fluttered his eyes open, facing you.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I just wanted to see if"
"Don't be." He sighed, "Couldn't sleep a wink either. This room is bloody cold."
"The blankets aren't doing anything." You exhaled, agreeing, before an idea popped into you head.
"This might sound silly, but, if we revert back to old fashioned methods, we could, um—actually it's stupid, nevermind." You began, but quickly dismissed it.
"Go on, I'd like to hear what genius solution you've come up with."
"It's dumb, I don't think you'll like it."
"Try me." He replied.
You hesitated again before suggesting, “We could—uh—use body heat.”
He stared at you momentarily, it looked as though he thought about it, considering it before responding, “Absolutely not.”
"Okay, whatever, I just thought it was a feasible option. These robes aren't exactly pyjama material either." You say, trying to tighten your robes, with the hopes of warming up your body.
You both fell into silence again your back facing him once more, before Fred spoke up, "Come here."
"What?" You turned around.
"I suppose, we could try the body heat thing."
"Oh so now you want to try my idea?" You raise your brow, scoffing as you shift over slowly, and he extended his arm, pulling you in.
"Don't get any ideas, I just need to sleep and call it a day." You firmly spoke, pressing your back to him, as he faced you. You felt his heat, no doubt, it was working, and you were starting to warm up. In all the places apparently, your cheeks, and an area of yours down there. Your heart pounded as his hand rested against your back, his breath tickling your ear.
"Let's do shoulder-to-shoulder." You suggested, trying to hide your flustered-ness.
He didn't argue, respecting your decision. The two of you lay there, facing the ceiling as your shoulders touched. Though not as warm as before, it was still warmer at least.
You turned your head, Fred's face illuminated by the dim light coming through from the curtains, his jawline ever so chiselled. Merlin, he was undoubtedly a handsome chap. You shut your eyes, trying, yet again to enter a slumber.
As you laid there, eyes shut, Fred opened his, gauging you. He smiled softly as he took in your features, rolling his eyes fondly as he saw you breathing slowly.
You swore you were about to cast some sort of sleeping spell, because you still could not fall asleep for the life of you. You keep moving, accidentally brushing against Fred's body countless times but you couldn't help it, you needed to find a comfortable position.
You move your arm around the blanket, trying to find a comfortable position for yourself until you accidentally graze something, unexpected.
You freeze.
Did you actually just graze that?
Was he....?
You slowly turned to face him, your body merely an inch away from his. You see him shut his eyes, heavily breathing, his Adam's apple bopping up and down from swallowing hard.
"Would you quit moving so much?" He whispered, trying to contain himself.
"I....Fred, I didn't mean to." You pause. "You're still awake?"
"10 points to Y/H (your house), captain obvious."
You furrow your brows, turning on the bedside lamp which offered the tiniest bit of ambient light in the dark room.
Your gaze flickered down, and well, you saw, a little friend poking up from the sheets beneath him.
"Is that, because of m—" You swallowed not daring to finish the sentence, looking at his hard on. "I'm sorry shouldn't have moved so much."
"Alright, it's okay, it's not a big deal, so what it's normal right. I didn't mean to accidentally keep grazing or grinding on you, I was merely trying to find a comfortable position. Listen, I'm not weirded out or anything, you can go sort it out. Who am I to judge? This time tomorrow we'll all be at the burrow and I'll be sharing a room with Ginny and 'Mione, so it's fine, we can—" You began ranting out of nervousness, but Fred had enough, opening his eyes to sit up with you,
"Merlin, Y/N. Ranting like you're so innocent, moving around like that? On me?" He leans in closer, growling, "I bet you'd really want to know what got me provoked in the first place, yeah?"
You gulped, inspecting his features as he leaned in closer to you, now an inch apart, "You aggravate me, pushing my damn buttons all the bloody time. Maybe if you weren't such a whiny brat complaining about everything, I would've fucked you an hour ago till you were silenced.” He ranted before continuing,
“You want to know what got me so hard? You waltzing around in those darn bathrobes that are far too small, exposing every inch of your body, your cleavage is practically begging to be seen. I can't keep my fucking eyes off you. Ever since Hogwarts, it was always you, grating on my last nerves. I thought I hated you so, until I realised that there was a fine line between hate and attraction."
"Fred..." your eyelids flutter; how did his voice get so low and sensual? You could feel yourself throbbing, growing wetter by the minute, and you found yourself growing more needy for him.
"Bloody hell Y/N, you've got me wrapped around the irritating finger of yours."
"Just shut up and kiss me Fred." You breathlessly whisper, not realising that you'd been holding your breath the entire time.
After waiting for what seemed like forever, he wasted no time pouncing on you. His hand is behind your neck and he pushes you down onto the bed, hovering on top of you.
Fred's lips meet yours furiously, desperately, never in your life has someone kissed you this passionately before. You open your mouth, and he slides his tongue in, a desirous clash of tongues. He savours every inch of your mouth and it makes you wonder how long he's been wanting to do this for.
"May I?" He asks for permission as he tugs at the belt of your bathrobe.
You nod, too breathless to speak as you gaze up at him. Fred undoes your robes, leaving you clothe-less on the bed. He does the same, kneeling between your legs which are spread open and on either side of his waist. You subconsciously give him doe-eyes as he does so, merlin, he looked so deliciously attractive.
"So fucking beautiful, all this hidden from me all these years?" He leans down and gently kisses your neck while gripping your waist, sucking on a sensitive spot which earns a moan from you.
"Going to leave hickey's on you so everyone knows you're mine gorgeous."
"Who said I was yours?" Every so daring you retort, though you lacked conviction.
He chuckled lowly before sucking on another sensitive spot, leaving a reddish mark on you, "Fred..." you moan again. His kisses grow more wet and fervent as he plants kisses trailing down your body. His hands move from your waist to your breasts, massaging them gently as he continues further down your body.
You're barely able to control the obscene moans slipping from your mouth, any attempts at suppressing them growing more difficult by the second. You didn't even care that people around you might hear.
"You're soaking wet, and yet you say you're not mine." Fred cooed, his eyes glued to your heat, coated with glistening wetness.
You revel in the fact that he can barely take his eyes off you, you glance at him, eyes half-lidded, clouded with lust. Once he catches sight of your lustful eyes, desperate for him, he can't tear his gaze away from you. He slowly leans down, sensually licking your coated slick.
Your sensitive cunt throbs even harder upon the contact from his tongue, "Fred please..." You whine, throwing your head back onto the pillow.
He traces the shape of your vulva, pressing kitten licks on your needy clit, causing your legs to clamp around his head. He doesn't break eye-contact, as he continues to work his mouth around your core.
He continues sucking your clit, his tongue working his way on your swollen pearl.
You tangle your hands in his head, tugging lightly. Your body can't help but arch into his face due to the overwhelming pleasure, as he continues indulging in your cunt. "Merlin Fred!" You cry out as he suckles on a particularly sensitive spot.
"You taste so damn good love, so sweet unlike that bitter mouth, hm?"
"I'm yours Fred....all yours..." You whimper, succumbing to his words.
"Say that again." His voice low, commanding, you could feel the heat from his mouth near your throbbing cunt.
"I'm yours, Fred." You moan, as he continues straight into your core.
The feeling is heavenly, both hands tangled in his red locks as he gives you the most pleasant head you've ever felt in your life. Once he stops assaulting your clit, he lifts his head and faces you, his eyes smiling up at you, as though you are the most beautiful person he's ever seen.
Oh, you're so close, tilting over the edge of something mind-blowing. He leans down and gives your clit a few more kitten licks, planting soft kisses before pulling away, just as you were about to cum.
"Don't stop," you whimper, "I was so close...."
"Fred?" You plead, again, but he sits up and crawls to you, now hovering over you his hands on either side of your head. "Please let me cum...."
"You will, darling." He cooes, leaning down to your ear, "Around my cock."
You felt yourself throbbing yet again, upon his words. What the hell was he doing to you, causing you to feel this weak beneath him? This powerless? Your sharp, witty tongue, nowhere in sight.
"Please Fred, I need you." You whine, begging him for more.
"What ever happened to, 'I despise you'?" He hovered over you and you sat up, meeting his lips. Giving him a passionate, hungry kiss before pulling away,
"There is a fine line between hate and love, and I think today I've learnt that you've been sitting in the wrong category all along."
He smiled, brushing a hand on your cheek as he gazed down at you lovingly, "Took me so long to realise that you're the only person I've ever felt something with."
"Took us bloody ages." You roll your eyes fondly, before giggling as he pecked your forehead gently.
You gazed up at him with doe-eyes, and him down at you, to your lips then back up, his mouth parted slightly as he took in how breathtaking you looked beneath him. Shit, you were always beautiful to him, he'd only now realised.
"Need you inside me Fred." You plead softly, desperately, which only fuelled his desire for you even more.
"Anything for you, love."
You never thought you'd admit it, but he has a fucking incredible dick. You assumed he'd be packing because he was 6"3, but the sight of it made you drool. Bloody hell, he had every right to be so smug.
His slit was already leaking with precum, his eyes lock onto yours as he lowers himself. Your legs are still on each side of his waist, he grabs his dick and teases it along your wet entrance, sliding it a few times to coat it with your slickness.
You involuntarily buck your hips, desperate for penetration as you whimper. He slowly lowers himself down, and finally into you.
At first, you hiss at the pain upon being stretched out by his hugeness, you could feel him stretching your walls, registering that fact that he was fully inside you now.
"Fuck...." he moans, letting out a groan, "So tight for me hm?"
"Freddie...." You moan as he begins moving, rocking his hips slowly. You get used to the size of him, filling you to the brim, every slight bit of movement causing your walls to tense around his dick, rubbing within you sensually.
"I know baby, I know." He responds softly, continuing at this pace.
With every rock, his breathing increases, your soft pleas and his eager pants filling the room as he speeds up, going faster and harder.
Your moans start to get louder, getting more deafening by the minute. Fred leans down to plant kisses on your neck, and pecking your lips occasionally, you moan into him as he drives himself further into your core.
"You're doing so well baby." He coos into your ear, murmuring praises as he continues to thrust into you.
Fred doesn't stop pounding into you, you move your hands to his back, your nails practically digging into his skin from the pleasure.
Skin slapping against skin, you feel every jolt of his body into you. He's fucking you so gently but hard at the same time, treating you as though you were the most fragile thing on the planet.
"Baby..." You whimper, eyes fluttering shut, as he continues thrusting into you deeply, you are overwhelmed with so much pressure that you might cry, but it just felt so damn pleasurable.
"I'm getting close Fred." You pant, breathing heavily, as he picks up his pace.
"Look at me." He demands, and you open your eyes, gazing into his hazel ones. For once, they aren't filled with irritation, or the usual annoyance you were used to seeing, they were more gentle, admiring you, it was a look of love.
"Fred, I'm so close!" You cry out, feeling an orgasm coming closer, "I'm gonna—" you can barely finish your sentence, the pressure. on your g-spot and the intense penetration becoming too much for you to handle, along with the gaze of hazel eyes burning into you.
You let out an obscene moan as your walls clench around him, you jerk harshly, causing him to let out a guttural moan. It's a pleasurable ache, your entire body pulses beneath him.
"Gonna come inside you baby, that okay?" He asks, and you nod, to breathless to speak.
Seconds later, he comes undone, squirting his juices inside you. The world slows down as you enter your state of euphoria; you're entangled in pure bliss as you come down from your high. Your body is still electrified from the feeling before.
It takes a while for you to fully settle down. You slowly flutter your eyes open to find yourself engulfed in Fred's buff arms, your breathing in sync. The two of you lean against the wooden bed-frame, and you lean your head on his shoulder, while he cradles you.
You glance down at your body and notice that it's covered in marks, which looked bloody hot. Merlin, you really were Fred's now huh?
"So much for body heat." You chuckled softly, as he stroked your back gently.
He laughs, and you feel the vibrations of his chest, "The best kind of heat if you ask me." He says which earned an eyeroll from you.
Fred plants a soft kiss on your head, "Y'know I'm not one for apologies, but I was a bit of a jerk to you back in Hogwarts, and I want to apologise."
"It was a two-way thing, Freddie, suppose I should apologise for being one too. Merlin, you did grate on every last one of my nerves though." You tease.
"Always a pleasure." He grinned down at you, engulfed in his arms as you looked up at him, sharing a moment of sweet silence as you put the past behind you.
A ray of moonlight shone through the tiny gap in the curtain. You turned your head, glancing out the window as you pondered about the others back at the burrow.
"What're we going to tell the others when we find them tomorrow?" You giggled, taking in the state you were both in.
"I have a feeling they won't be surprised." Fred confessed.
"What do you mean?"
"Everyone in my family thinks we have a thing for each other, especially Ginny. Won't stop talking about us that sister of mine."
"Since when?!" You were amused, the two of you were the epitome of the word hate back in Hogwarts and to hear a statement like this shocked you.
"Since school apparently." He laughed, shaking his head, "I thought it was silly too, but look where we are now."
"Just wait one day, you'll eventually get married." He mocked Ginny's tone, mirroring her facial expressions too, and you couldn't help but laugh.
"Please, you and me?" You raised a brow, teasing him, though biting back a fond smile.
"Neverrrr." He scrunched up his nose, holding you closer as you both now laid down in bed, safely in each other's grasp.
Finally comfortable, you found yourself drifting off into a much-needed slumber. The same could be said for Fred, it was safe to say the body-heat idea turned out better than anticipated.
And with this newfound love, perhaps the broomstick breaking was a blessing in disguise.

Fred Weasley had a gift for many things, blowing things up, bending rules, getting out of trouble with a grin, but making you completely lose your mind might’ve been his most potent magic.
You were tucked up in his room at the Burrow, summer air warm, windows cracked open, and the low sound of enchanted wireless humming lazily from the corner. You’d stolen one of his shirts again, the old one from the shop with the neckline stretched and sleeves too big, hanging off your shoulder just enough to drive him mad.
He was watching you from the foot of the bed, eyes raking over your body like he hadn’t just had you the night before. Or the morning before that. Or up against the bathroom sink not twelve hours ago.
You peeked over the top of your book, trying not to smirk.
“You’re staring.”
Fred didn’t deny it. “I am. You look so good like that. All casual. Comfy. Completely fuckable.”
You snorted, but your thighs pressed together.
“Bit needy today, aren’t you?”
He tilted his head, grin wolfish. “You calling me needy? You, who literally screamed my name loud enough last night I think the ghoul in the attic clapped for us?”
You laughed, and that laugh earned a low growl from him. He moved, slow and controlled, like a lion stalking prey, crawling up the bed until he was hovering above you, nose brushing your cheek.
“You calling me needy…” he whispered, dragging his lips across your jaw, “…while you’re sitting here, soaking through my shirt with your thighs clenched and pretending you don’t want me to ruin you.”
Your breath hitched. “Fred—”
“Let me eat you out, Y/N.”
“...what?”
He grinned. “You heard me.”
“Yeah, I just—no foreplay? No kissing? No—”
Fred’s hands were already sliding down your body. “Baby, we’ve been doing foreplay since the minute I saw you in my shirt. I’ve been suffering.”
He kissed down your neck, hands lifting the hem of the oversized tee until it bunched at your waist.
“I need you on your back. Legs over my shoulders. Right fucking now.”
You’d never obeyed so quickly in your life.
He slid your underwear down slowly, teasingly, sucking a kiss to your thigh as he settled between them.
“Look at this,” he said, voice in awe. “You’re already soaked. Merlin’s tits, love.”
You opened your mouth to snap at him,but then his tongue flattened against your clit, and all that came out was a moan so loud it echoed.
Fred groaned, latching on like he was starving. His tongue circled and licked, slow at first, building gradually, fingers digging into your hips like he was holding onto the last threads of control.
He loved eating you out. It was one of his favorite hobbies,up there with Quidditch and annoying Filch.
And he was good at it. Filthy. Passionate. Worshipful.
“Fuck, Fred—please—”
His fingers slid inside you just as his mouth closed around your clit again, and your back arched off the bed.
“That’s it, darling,” he murmured against you. “Let me hear you.”
Your fingers tangled in his hair, tugging as you whined, thighs shaking. He didn’t stop. Didn’t even pause.
“Oh—fuck—I’m gonna—Fred—fuck—”
You came hard, grinding into his mouth, eyes screwed shut, legs trembling on either side of his head.
He moaned like he loved it,like tasting you was the highlight of his entire day.
And when he finally looked up, face soaked and smug, you were a breathless, blissed-out mess.
“You good?” he asked, voice hoarse.
You blinked at him. “I can’t feel my legs.”
He laughed so hard he had to lean on the bed for balance. “Holy fuck, Y/N. You’re literally a puddle.”
“Shut up.”
“No, really. You’re like—dripping. If you die, I’m blaming that book you ignored me for.”
You threw a pillow at him. He caught it with one hand and tossed it aside.
Then he was back on you, pulling off the rest of his clothes, lifting your hips like you weighed nothing.
“You think we’re done?” he teased.
You squeaked when he spread your legs and lined himself up. “I—Fred—wait—”
“Just a little more,” he whispered, kissing your cheek. “I’ll go slow.”
But he didn’t. Not really.
Because the moment he sank into you, tight and warm and still twitching from your orgasm, his control shattered.
He groaned like you were the best feeling he’d ever known. “Fuck—fuck—you’re squeezing me so tight—how are you this perfect?”
You gasped, hands gripping his shoulders. “You’re huge, Fred—oh my god—”
His pace started steady, but it didn’t stay that way.
Every time he pulled out and pushed back in, he went deeper. Harder. Faster.
Your legs instinctively locked around his shoulders again, heels digging into his back as he slammed into you over and over.
Your moans were shameless now,raw and honest and wrecked.
Fred leaned down, face close to yours, grinning like he’d just discovered treasure.
“You love it,” he panted. “Being fucked like this. All stretched out and cock-drunk for me.”
You nodded helplessly, tears in your eyes from how good it felt.
“Say it,” he demanded, breath hot on your lips. “Tell me you love it.”
“I love it—I love it, Fred, please—”
“Please what, baby?”
“Don’t stop.”
“Never.”
His hand reached between you, fingers finding your clit again. Your body jolted at the stimulation, already too much and somehow not enough.
“You gonna come again for me?” he whispered, kissing your temple.
You nodded desperately. “Y-yeah—yes, fuck, please—”
“Good girl.”
That pushed you right over the edge.
You shattered beneath him with a scream, body spasming, stars bursting behind your eyes. Your walls clenched so tight around him, it pulled his orgasm out of him seconds later.
“Shit—Y/N—”
He buried himself deep, groaning your name like a prayer as he came hard inside you.
It was messy. Intense. Fucking glorious.
When he finally collapsed beside you, both of you breathless and sweaty and clinging to each other, the room was dead silent except for the ragged sounds of your breathing.
Then, softly:
“Still mad I interrupted your reading?”
You snorted into his chest. “I don’t even remember what the book was about.”
Fred chuckled, pulling you into his arms and kissing your forehead. “Exactly.”
You both laid there for a moment, tangled in sheets and limbs and sweat, before he grabbed his wand and muttered a quick cleaning spell with a flick.
You sighed. “That’s cheating.”
He smirked. “That’s magic.”
A beat passed. Then, softly, Fred looked down at you.
“Y’know I love you, right?”
You blinked. Heat rose to your cheeks. “What?”
He smiled. No teasing. No joke. Just Fred, completely sincere.
“I love you, Y/N. Like... all the time. Even when you’re ignoring me for books.”
You cupped his cheek. “I love you too.”
His grin widened. “Even when I turn you into a puddle?”
You rolled your eyes and kissed him again.
“Especially then.”

Simon x SingleMomReader, Part Four! Thank you for reading and commenting and being so nice, I love it here <3
Part One - Part Two - Part Three
Weeks went by, and little by little, piece by piece, Simon begins learning you. Your last name, the one you share with Charlie and Emma, your birthday, your favorite food.
Bigger things, too -- how Charlie was a surprise in a not-so-great relationship with a man who'd left and come back, sworn up and down that he'd changed just long enough for another surprise to come in Emma, and who'd left again soon after.
He doesn't just hope for random run-ins with you at the park now, either. He has your number, and you have his. Sometimes you invite him over for dinner, sometimes Charlie grabs the phone and begs him to come play, but more and more, he's finding himself at your house.
One day, Simon talks to Charlie at the dinner table while you're giving the baby a bath, and the scene is so domestic it almost hurts, the way some bit of sweetness can cause a toothache if it hits just right. You and he haven't talked more about his feelings for you or whether you share them, but that's fine by him. You trust him now, enough to let him tend to your son or hold your daughter, and that means everything to him.
"You wanna hear a joke?" he asks Charlie, who nods, smiling and ready, so he says, "What do you call a teddy bear who's going bald?"
"I don't know, what?"
"Fred Bear."
Charlie looks at him blankly, big eyes confused. "The bear's name is Fred?"
"No, sounds like threadbare. Fred Bear, threadbare."
"... His name is Thread?"
Simon chuckles, but before he can say anything else, you come out from the hallway, holding baby Emma.
"Is Simon trying to tell more jokes?" you ask Charlie.
"Yeah, but it wasn't funny."
"Aww, they never are, are they, baby?"
You grin playfully at Simon, and even after all the hours he's spent with you and your family, it's like the first time all over again. Except better now -- it's better every time. Because now, he feels like he's actually earning your smiles. Almost like he's worth all the warmth and kindness you've shown him, just by letting him be with you like this.
Next is the bedtime routine, which he's familiar with at this point. Emma, who's been so close to sleeping through the night, you've told him, gets one more feeding and plenty of snuggles before getting placed in the bassinet by your bed, while Charlie gets an equal amount of snuggles, as long as he'll sit still for them, and a bedtime story after he's all tucked in.
Simon helps out where he can, or when he's confident enough in whatever placed he's carved out in your family to offer, but often he stays back, cleaning up after dinner or straightening up the living room.
He's in the kitchen now, working through the dishes, when you come in, kid-free and trusty baby monitor in your hand. By the look on your face, he knows what you're about to say, and he tries to nip it in the bud.
"Don't need the 'you don't have to do this' speech tonight, love, I've heard it enough I can recite it by heart now."
"But you don't," you tell him, leaning against the counter by the sink, close enough that he can feel your warmth when he puts a clean dish in the drainer. "You know you can just come and hang out, you don't have to do my cleaning for me."
He smiles, glancing up at you, and says, "You want to say my part now or should I?"
You roll your eyes, taking a soapy dish from him so you can rinse it yourself, and pitch your voice as low as it can go, mocking him as you say, "'Know I don't have to, I want to, I’m a very large, very tough man and a sink full of dirty dishes and a bin full of dirty nappies is no match for me.’”
"That's what I sound like, is it?"
You laugh, bumping his hip with yours, and continue with the silly voice.
"'My name is Simon, I tell awful jokes and am very mysterious, but if you need a nap and have a four-year-old who won't slow down for two seconds, I'm your guy.'"
It's all very silly, but very cute, and he can't keep the smile off his face. You keep opening up to him more and more, and every new thing he sees from you, even dumb little moments of levity like this, make him fall even harder. It's such a stark contrast to the woman he met that first day, the one who trusted him only because she had to and lied about having a husband so he might think twice about hurting her.
Even then, he would have died before hurting you, but now?
"I am, you know," he says quietly, handing you another dish.
"You are what?"
"Your guy."
To him, it's just a fact. Of course he's yours. But you look at him with widening eyes, not all that different than the look Charlie gives him when he fixes the persistently leaky faucet or carries all the groceries home so you can carry the baby and hold the boy's hand -- like he's doing something magical when he's just doing something that he knows should be done. It's too much, to be held in such high regard. To feel this important.
With careful hands, still warm and damp from the water from the sink, he grips your waist. When you don't push him away, he gently lifts you to sit on the counter in front of him, closer to eye level. And when, miraculously, you still seem good with what's happening, he leans in.
Simon wants to go fast, because he knows how much he needs this -- how much he needs you, just like this, sleepy after a full day and happy with a full life and right there in his arms -- but he doesn't. He moves in slowly, giving you ample time to stop him, but you don't. Instead, you lift your hands to his shoulders and pull him in to close the distance between you.
It's a soft kiss, but one full of the wanting he's been feeling for months now, and as you move your lips against his, he can feel a bit of your wanting too. It's enough to pull a low grunt from his throat, one that spills from his mouth and into yours as you part your lips to deepen the kiss.
He'd always known that if he ever got the chance to kiss you, it would be good -- he could never see a way that it wouldn't be. But actually doing it, tasting you in more than just his dreams, was so much more than he ever imagined. He loses himself in it, just a bit, his hands only just slipping under the hem of your shirt to feel your smooth skin.
When he feels your fingers grasping at his shoulders, an adorable, almost anxious little attempt at pulling him closer, he scoots you to the edge of the counter so that his chest is flush against yours. The kiss turns hungrier, deeper.
Then the baby cries.
It's a sharp sound through the monitor paired with the muffled sound from the down the hall, and you pull away, breathless and flushed.
"Sorry," you say softly, giving his shoulders one more squeeze before hopping off the counter. "I, um ... just stay, ok? I'll be right back."
He lets out a breath as he watches you hurry down the hall to your bedroom where baby Emma is wailing, trying to wrap his head around the situation.
Through the baby monitor, he hears you softly soothing your daughter. He can't make out every word, but the love and care in your tone is clear. He sees the goodness in you every time he's with you, a softness unlike anything he's never known, and it's intoxicating. It's dizzying, someone like you letting someone like him get so close. It makes him feel like he's falling and flying all at once, like he wants to claw at his own skin just to get his hands on the part of you that buzzes through him. It's too much to keep inside him, as big and broad as he is. Too much to bear, all this longing.
All this love.
Simon hears a lullaby through the baby monitor, and sharp cries that turn into little whines before things go silent. A moment later, he hears your feet padding softly down the hall, then there you are in the doorway of the kitchen, hands on your waist and a question in your eyes.
His answer, of course, is "yes." An unequivocal, unrelenting yes, to any question, to anything you want or will ever want from him.

nsfw headcanons and kinks of harry potter characters
ft. harry, ron, cedric, fred, george, draco, blaise, theodore, tom, hermione, pansy
a/n: well there is obviously a lot of SMUT, also it's a female reader
༺☆༻
⤷ Harry - lingerie
harry for sure loves when you wear some nice pair of lingerie, he finds it so hot when the nice lace hugs your body so perfectly. every time when he's out, he looks for some new pair of lingerie that he would buy you. oh yeah he buys you every single pair but one time, you surprised him on his b-day with red pair of lingerie (like gryffindor theme lingerie) and he was hard within seconds.
"oh- oh my fucking god, you look amazing sweetheart. do a spin for me please- slowly, i wanna see how pretty you look in this" harry hummed while he sat on his bed with you slowly turning in front of him. he could feel his hard dick pressing against his pants, pre-cum already making his boxers dirty. he brushed his hand over his erection before he hummed again. "come closer baby, i wanna touch you..."
⤷ Ron - body worship
ron was very unexperienced at the start, you were basically his first everything, first girlfriend, first kiss, first lover. so when was the first time you two had sex, he was just so mesmerized by your whole body that he had to watch himself for not cumming into his pants just from the sight of your naked body. you are gorgeous in his eyes, more than that! from that time it kinda sticked with him, every time you two have sex now, he has to worship you before anything, he wants you to know how beautiful you are on his eyes...
you could feel ron's hands tracing soft patterns over your sides while his eyes were glued to your boobs. "bloody hell, baby you are so beautiful.. " he mumbled while he moved his big palms over your boobs, squeezing them lightly. "i can't belive how lucky i'm to have you, now let me make you feel good." he added before he took off your panties and kissed his way down to your pretty cunt.
⤷ Cedric - praise kink
cedric is overall very vocal when you two have sex, he either growls, hums, groans, breaths heavily or he's mumbling praises to you. he really cannot help himself when he sees you all spread under him; your legs wrapped around him, your hands scratching his back while he holds your hips and is thrusting into you, mercilessly. he always makes sure that you can hear him properly so he usually leans closer to you, brushing his lips over your ear in soft kisses, whispering praise right into your ear.
"you're doing so good princess, taking all of me like this..." he whispers into your ear, his hips are crushing against yours, his dick hitting every right spot while you're a moaning mess under him. "you feel so good, i can't get enough of you, my sweet girl.." he groans again into your ear while his tempo isn't slowing down.
⤷ Fred - public sex
fred is thrilled with the idea of getting caught, it's the adrenaline and the possessivness from him screaming, i mean he wants people to know that you're his, that you chose him and that only HE makes you feel this good. so you two usually have sex somewhere around hogwarts. empty classroom, broom closet, empty gryffindor common room, bathroom, you name it.
"shh baby, be quiet you don't want anybody to catch us, do you?" he smirks while he has you seated on a desk in empty potion class. both of you are skipping class so it's pretty quiet outside on the hallways, anyone who will walk past can hear you. he doesn't care how loud you are because he doesn't care if you two get caught, he just wants to tease you. even tho you try to be quiet, you can't help yourself and moan again. "naughty girl yeah, let everybody know how good i make you feel..."
⤷ George - orgasm denial
george loves the face you make when he pushes you to the edge but just seconds before you're about to cum, he slows down his moves or stops completely, kissing your skin instead. he also loves teasing you but the way you get all pouty and squeeze around him when he denies you your orgasm is just something he can never get tired of. but eventually he'll let you cum and it's always the best orgasm ever.
he was thrusting into you in the perfect rhythm when you felt the familiar knot forming inside your belly, but just when the knot was about to release, he stopped. instead he immediately pressed his lips against your chest, kissing you around your boobs. "i know baby, i know... i'll give you what you want but god- when you squeeze around me like this, i can't help myself."
⤷ Draco - daddy kink
draco has big daddy issues so many of you could say that he'd hate being called daddy but he actually loves it. it makes him feel good, powerful and in control which he never was while being back home so... when you started calling him like this, he didn't let you stop. he sees you as his blessing and he wants to protect you with everything he has, like a good daddy should protect his precious baby.
"you're such a good girl for daddy, princess..." draco huffed while he was buried deep inside you. his hands were pressing your knees to your chest which made you ass go little up, letting him hit the perfect spot inside you. "yes, tell me who's your daddy? mhmf-..." he continues while you're mumbling under him. he loves when those sweet words leave your pretty mouth, it almost always makes him cum in seconds.
⤷ Blaise - bondage
blaise loves seeing how your flesh presses under the bondage, making your thighs and boobs look even more soft and squishy than they already are. he either bondages your whole body or only ankles and wrists so you can't move, but he loves both equaly. he always takes his time when he's wrapping the rope around your body but he also always makes sure that everything he does is comfortable to you, it could be dangerous for you and he doesn't wanna hurt you.
"you feelin' good, babe?" he speaks while his long fingers are brushing over your inner thighs, his eyes basically glued to the plush of them. he could feel his hard dick twitching in his boxers, leaving a small wet mark over the fabric so he quickly strokes himself before he continues. "you look so pretty like this, all just for me... take a deep breath, babe, just like this..."
⤷ Theodore - deep throat
there is nothing more theo loves more than when you are on your knees, your glassy looking up at him with tears falling down your cheeks while he hears how you are gagging on his dick. he doesn't care if you have good or bad gagging reflex, you can take it for him. if it's very serious and you just have to take a quick pause, he'll let you rest for like 30s before pushing you down on his dick again, this time little deeper than before. and when you let him cum into your mouth, you got yourself "bonus" orgasm.
"ngh- fuck baby-... your tongue feels so good around me, mhmm..." he hums while his head falls down between his shoulder blades with his fingers being tangled in your hair, pushing your head lower on his dick. his groans and moans are non-stopping while he can feel himself getting closer and closer. when he looks down at you and sees your pretty, bambi eyes already staring at him, he can feel himself cum. "oh dio-... now swallow for me, amore."
⤷ Tom - choking
choking makes feel tom in control, in control of your life while he brings you the best pleasure of your life. he can feel your pulse point under his thumb while you make this incredibly fuckable face, it drives him wild and incredibly horny. he can feel your heartbeat while he also makes you feel so good, it makes him feel powerful and he's hungry for power, any kind of power. but he'd never let you pass out, that's a big no for him.
he thrusted inside and out of you, mercilessly, while he had his hand firmly wrapped around you neck, perfectly feeling how was your heart beating through your pulse point. "oh are you about to cum? yeah, cum for me, my love..." he growled when his grip got tighter, making your eyes close in pleasure. you were still moaning under him which made him go little faster. with all of this, he came as well.
⤷ Hermione - thigh riding
hermione loves when she can multitask, it's somehow comforting to her. so one time when you found her in the library, learning for some up coming test, writing into her books; you sat on her thigh, wanting to distract her, she was hooked. she loved the feeling of you on her thigh, pleasuring yourself while she could write some notes into her textbook. from that time, she loved it and she often pulls you onto her lap with her thigh in perfect position for your pussy.
she wrote the last words into her book before her hands grabbed your hips, making you move faster, making your pussy spread over her thigh. "mhm you feel good like this? yes, you do? oh i know... come on, little faster." she mumbled into your ear, kissing you all the way down to your neck while her nails dug into your soft hips making you moan.
⤷ Pansy - face-sitting
pansy is literally obsessed with your pussy and all the noises you make when her tongue is buried deep inside you. she loves to explore all your folds because every time her tongue presses against a new spot, you squeeze your thighs around her head which makes her rub her thighs against each other. her eyes are glued on you the whole time while she presses her nose against your clit.
"mhmh come on-..." she quickly mumbles before she pushes your hips more onto her mouth while her tongue pushes deep inside you. her hands helped your hips slowly move back and forth while her tongue was licking each of your folds, swallowing each of your juice that she got on her tongue. your moans filled her ears and she could see you were getting closer which made her tongue work even faster.

warnings — suggestive ⋆ manipulation
Tumblr media
the weasley twins are absolute menaces.
they love messing with you. love how easy it is to slip into each other’s roles, how seamlessly they weave deception into pleasure, leaving you dazed and pliant. the teasing starts small—fred whispering something filthy in your ear that you swear george had said just yesterday. catching a glimpse of a hickey beneath george’s collar, a mark you’re sure you left on fred this morning. half the time you don’t even know which one’s between your legs until it’s far, far too late to care.
they love it almost as much as they love you.
you don’t realise, at first.
or maybe you do. maybe it’s just easier to pretend you don’t. the twins think it’s so funny. well—fred thinks it’s how you hesitate before moaning out a name, and george just enjoys the privilege of getting to bend you over the nearest surface whenever he likes.
it always starts the same way:
“y’alright, love?”one of them drawls one afternoon, leaning against the wall, arms folded loosely over his chest. “look a bit peaky.”
you glare at him over your book, unimpressed.
“gee, wonder why.”
his grin only widens.
“haven’t the foggiest,”
you don’t believe it for a second. but before you can fire back, fred (or maybe george, you’re not sure anymore) is already plucking the book from your hands, flipping through the pages idly.
“good read, this?” he muses, thumbing through the text “can’t imagine it’s half as entertainin’ as last night.”
your cheeks burn. “piss off.”
but he doesn’t. obviously. instead, he leans in, tucking himself into your space, smelling like bergamot and ink and something sweeter underneath.
“actually,” he murmurs thoughtfully, “was thinkin’ we ought to have a bit of a repeat performance.”
“again?”
fred grins. “reckon so, yeah.”
“fred,” you groan, half-exasperated, half-pleading. “i can barely walk.”
“right, right. s’pose we should give you a break.”
and then—
“good thing i’m george, then, innit?”
your stomach drops.
“what d’you say, love?” he drawls, fingers skimming the inside of your wrist. “gonna let me have my turn, or am i gonna have to start convincing you?”
wait. wait. your eyes narrow in suspicion.
“hold on.. i thought you had your turn.”
“oh, i did,” he agrees. “but you’re so accommodating.”before you can so much as protest, he’s already hoisting you up, making his way toward the nearest empty classroom. you groan into his shoulder, equal parts exhausted and exasperated. “you two are the worst.”
“yeah, but something tells me you love it,”
you don’t answer.
you can’t, really—not when he’s already shoving you up against the desk, tilting your chin up so he can kiss you properly, swallowing whatever pitiful resistance you might have left.

Tumblr media
The screams and chaos of the premiere crashed over you as you stepped out of the car, a security guard’s hand reached for yours to steady you. This was it, the final big event. Even though it wasn’t over just yet, the nostalgia was creeping in, soft but persistent.
“Hey, pretty girl.” Fred’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts. He stood only a few steps ahead of you, having just arrived himself. Your gaze softened, lingering on Fred, oblivious to the cameras snapping away. “You look…” His gaze dipped once—then again—tracing your figure. A soft, unguarded smile tugged at his lips, as if he didn’t realize he was doing it. As if he was completely enraptured by you. “You’re stunning, you know that?”
The ability to speak escaped you for only a moment, the words caught in your throat. “...Fred, you can’t-”
“No, I’m serious.” He shook his head, eyebrows raised. He walked forward and placed his hands on your shoulders, holding you in place to continue studying you, as if he was in awe. “Look at you.” His eyes finally found yours again. “You’re gorgeous, y/n.”
“Thank you.” The words felt stronger than your voice. You weren’t insecure—you knew you looked good tonight. But having someone say it like that—having Fred say it like that, like he couldn’t even keep the thought to himself—it nearly brought you to tears.
A deafening roar of cameras and voices dragged you back to reality. The glow of flashing lights blurred at the corners of your vision, and distant shouts of your name cut through the haze. You straightened your posture instinctively, smoothing invisible creases in your dress. But Fred could see it. He could see that small moment you tried to keep to yourself.
“Hey, come here.” He spoke softly, less of a request and more of a warning of the oncoming embrace. He pressed his hands between your shoulders blades once you settled into him, chin hooked against his shoulder. “I’m sorry.”
You shook your head vehemently, the silky smooth finish of his suit rubbing against your neck. “You’ve got nothing to be sorry for.”
“I made you emotional.”
“You always make me emotional.” You chuckled, voice light to keep the tears at bay, unsure why they even came in the first place. “You look incredibly handsome tonight.”
“Yeah?” He asked, his smile and excitement clear in his voice.
“Of course.” You pulled away and jerked your chin at his outfit. “We’re almost matching.”
With a quick second look at the color scheme of your outfit compared to his, Fred’s eyes lit up. “We are!”
“I think Grant and Leslie set us up.” You squinted your eyes conspiratorially. “I heard them talking about ‘all black looks’ yesterday.”
“Really?” He raised his brows at the information. “Come to think of it, Leslie refused to even entertain any of my suggestions today.” Fred laughed it off and reached down to hold you. His hands smoothly slid down your arms until they arrived at your hands, interlacing your fingers together. “Come on.” He tilted his head toward the carpet behind him. “Walk with me.”
“Down the carpet?” You gawked, frozen in place as he gently pulled you in the direction of the flashing lights.
“Yeah pretty, down the carpet.” Fred chuckled like you were joking. “It’s why we’re here, isn’t it?”
“You wanna take pictures with me? Like us- together?” You whispered to Fred, not fully paying attention to the cameras already catching every moment. As Fred’s hand tightened around yours, you realized.
You weren’t exactly hiding this—not entirely. Your blossoming relationship, that is. Keeping things personal and quiet felt right for both of you. But this—walking a red carpet together—had never been part of the plan.
“‘Course I wanna take pictures with you.” Fred answered, eyes soft but certain. “We worked super closely on this movie, y/n. I don’t think people will over analyze if we take pictures together on the carpet.” He shrugged. His words meant more than that, though. You knew he meant that you could do whatever you wanted. That you shouldn’t limit yourself in your relationship just because you wanted boundaries. Keeping it private didn’t mean keeping it a secret, like you were doing something wrong.
“Besides, you’re my Lovie.” His voice softened, almost shy, like he wasn’t sure if you’d still claim the title in front of all these people.
Your neck grew warm at his words.
Lovie.
That was the name you and Fred called your deliberately unnamed character throughout filming. Caracalla called her ‘my love’ almost exclusively in the script. So it became your quick shorthand between each other. And soon after, the rest of the cast and crew called your character that as well. But it was different with Fred. After a while, it stopped being her name for him. It was you. You were his Lovie.
“Oh- Okay, yeah.” You nodded at Fred, accepting the idea of walking the carpet together, though still slightly apprehensive.
“Yeah?” He asked again, just to make sure. And with another nod from you, Fred’s victorious smile lingered as his hand settled on the small of your back, sending sparks up your spine. “Gotta show off my girl,” he murmured, his hand pressing a little firmer into you. You weren’t sure if he wanted you to hear that or not, but you did. The way Fred could unravel you, seemingly without even trying, felt wildly unfair—like every tender gesture was second nature to him.
He led you up the crimson steps, where the carpet shimmered beneath camera flashes and distant voices blurred into a roar. Your name and Fred’s were being called from every which way. Before you could stand still and face a specific group of photographers, Fred moved away from your side all of a sudden, his steps quick and fluid.
“Fred?” you asked, instinctively glancing over your shoulder.
“One second.” His voice was low, nearly lost in the noise. When you turned, you saw Fred at your other side by your feet. He crouched smoothly to get closer to what he was after. The train of your dress. It wasn’t that long, but the small trek up the stairs had it all misshapen. With precise movements, he tugged at the fabric to position it into place. After he straightened it out sufficiently, he stood back up and stepped around his handiwork to come back at your side, arm looping around your waist to pull you back into him.
“You didn’t have to do all that.” You looked up at him through your lashes as your hands came up to rest against his chest. You adjusted his lapels in a subconscious attempt to return the favor, brushing away the imaginary lint on his chest and shoulders. Fred visibly blushed at your words, your hands on him, the way that you were looking at him, all of it. You displayed your emotions in a way that even he couldn’t dismiss. Not that he would want to. He loved it. Every moment. Being cared for so openly made his heart flutter and his ears turn red, it was exhilarating.
“I wanted to.” He reassured you, head nodding down softly, a subtle attempt at getting closer to you.
A piercing shout of your name followed by a burst of blinding light shattered the quiet moment.
The soft bubble you and Fred had built around yourselves burst, replaced by the harsh glare of cameras and the relentless hum of the crowd.
You dropped your hands from Fred’s chest, suddenly aware of how close you were.
But Fred’s hand stayed where it was, anchoring you in the thrashing waves of it all.
You turned this way and that, following the voices of photographers as they shouted out different poses they wanted to see.
“I could get used to this.” Fred spoke quietly, leaning down to whisper into your ear.
You frowned in confusion and turned to look at him. “Which part exactly?” You asked.
“Having the prettiest girl in the world on my arm.”
“Was this your plan tonight?” You couldn’t hide your grin no matter how hard you tried. “To kill me with compliments?”
“Not a bad way to die, no?” Fred furrowed his brows in faux seriousness, his mouth twitching in that way it did, a twinkle of mirth in his eyes.
You rolled your eyes with a giggle. “You’re a horrible man, Fred Hechinger.”
‘idk if they’re together or not and i want to be respectful but theyre literally the cutest people ever and if its true then theyre perfect for each other 🥺 truly wish them the best’
‘the mouth thing he does is actually the cutest thing ive ever seen’ ↳ ‘hottest. i think you mean hottest.’
‘look at the matching outfits!! i can’t! theyre too frickin cute!!!’ ↳ ‘its just all black lol y’all read into things too much 🙄’
‘we need a lip reader up in here 🗣️🗣️’
‘we love a man who knows the importance of the dress’
‘how does she just look better and better at each public appearance?!’
‘this is flirting one million percent’
‘either theyre together or theyre idiots, because this just might be true love’
‘we can’t assume that every interaction in hollywood means something more than it is, give them the privacy they deserve!’
‘what are they SAYINGGGG?!!?!’ ↳ ‘it definitely looks like he said ‘prettiest girl in the world’ there at the end, right?? call me crazy, but i can see his mouth moving so clearly it has to be it!’ ↳ ‘you’re definitely crazy, but also you’re definitely right’ ↳ ‘you’re right!!!! isn't that so relationship goals??’
Towards the end of the carpet, the rest of the cast were gathered to take a group photo. Paul saw the two of you approaching and his eyes lit up.
“Took your sweet time, didn’t you?” He teased the two of you. “Been waiting all night!”
“Sorry,” you ducked your head as you confessed, smiling sheepishly. “Entirely my fault. I came late.”
“Ah, come here.” Paul laughed as he brushed it off and pulled you into a hug. “You look stunning.”
“And you’re handsome as ever.” You returned the compliment.
Paul pulled Fred into his side once you withdrew. You saw him whisper something into Fred’s ear, and Fred laughed and whispered something back, but you couldn’t quite make any of it out.
When Fred pulled away, you shook your head at him with furrowed brows and pursed lips. A small way of asking ‘What was that about?’ Fred smiled and shook his head, ‘Don’t worry about it.’
“Alright, you two!” Paul clapped his hands, breaking the moment. “Picture time!”
“Do I look okay?” You turned to Fred, hand coming up to make sure your hair was in place. You were facing him now, your colleagues to one side of you and the expanse of the carpet on the other side.
“You always look perfect.” He answered, eyes struggling to stay on yours. Always dipping down to your neck, your shoulders, your waist. He had to get a hold of himself, he thought.
As you raised your arm to make sure your earrings were on properly, one of your bracelets snagged at the neckline of your dress. Nothing had happened yet, but if you moved in the wrong way, you’d have a horrible wardrobe malfunction on your hands. A soft ‘Oh!’ escaped you as you realized what was happening. Fred’s eyes darted from yours to your hand, where your eyes were fixated on something.
“What happened?” He mumbled as he quickly moved you with his hands on your elbows and simultaneously stood in front of you, making sure the scene was as difficult as possible for the cameras to capture.
“My bracelet’s stuck,” you explained, eyebrows furrowed and eyes zoned in on the tangle.
His hands quickly covered yours, gently moving your fingers out of the way. “Here, let me.”
You rolled your eyes with a laugh. “You’re like my own personal assistant today.”
“Yeah?” He asked with a small smile, still working on your bracelet, glad that you seemed to be enjoying yourself even now.
He was a bit worried about you today, especially after he initially saw you at the entrance to the carpet. He knew the high of working on this project was coming down for you and he wanted to be there to support you through it all.
“Mhm,” you nodded, “first the train of my dress, now this. What next? You’re gonna pull out a powder puff and take care of the shine on my forehead?”
“If this suit had big enough pockets, I’d pull out a plane and fly us out of here.”
“Where would we go?” You laughed.
“I don’t know, the Maldives? Russia? The moon?” Fred laughed with you as he pulled your hand back down, your bracelet and your dress back to their previous intact positions.
“Well, I already told you two that I want to go take pictures.” Paul’s voice broke the bubble that seemed to continuously form around the two of you. He stood next to you and placed a hand on your and Fred’s shoulders. “Hate to ruin the moment, lovebirds, but there’s only so much time before the movie starts inside.”
Paul pushed the two of you towards the spot prepared for the photos. Ahead of you was the rest of the cast, all lined up. Pedro Pascal, Connie Neilsen, Joseph Quinn, and Denzel Washington all stood together chatting and laughing. Paul went and stood next to Pedro, and Joseph made room for Fred between him and Denzel. You slid up next to Paul, feeling like it was the best fit for you between the group of people without causing another shuffle.
Paul scanned the lineup, eyes flicking between you and Fred when his eyes narrowed slightly. “This won’t do.”
Without another word, he began casually nudging people aside, muttering something to Pedro, giving Joseph a knowing look. Slowly but deliberately, he carved out a space beside Fred.
A space for you.
“There. Much better,” he smirked, stepping back to admire his handiwork. He placed a firm hand on your shoulder and pulled you into place.
Your cheeks burned as Fred grinned and tugged you closer into his side. Joseph smiled knowingly at you and draped an arm across your shoulders.
Paul darted back to his place and in turn the cameras flashing intensified.
‘paul fred and y/n seem like such good friends i could cry 😢’
‘we all know paul has tiktok and hes in the loop, this man knows exactly what hes doing to us fred x y/n shippers’
‘HIM FIXING HER DRESS LIKE THAT? TOMDAYA 2.0! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS 😩’
‘guys! a lip reader figured this one out! paul: ‘you’re smitten and you’re not being subtle about it’ and FRED SAID ‘who said i wanna be subtle?’ IS HE NOT THE CUTEST BOYFRIEND IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD?’ ↳‘paul ships it, he’s on our team’ ↳ ‘and he was telling her how good she looks at the other end of the carpet, did you see?’ ↳ ‘at one point he even says ‘you’re my love’ and i just about melted’ ↳ ‘no he said ‘lovie’! that’s what caracalla calls her in that one scene! NO SPOILERS GUYS!!!’
‘FRED THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!’
‘i can’t tell if i want y/n or if i want to be her’
‘paul making sure y/n is next to fred during the group photo’ ↳ ‘did you see how joseph looked at them!! everyone ships these two!’ ↳ ‘goes to show how literally everyone is rooting for these two’ ↳ ‘so true! they’re the cutest couple ive ever seen i feel like a proud mom’
‘first he fixes the train of her dress, next he helps her when her bracelet gets stuck, then what? huh? i die? is that what these two want from me?’
‘never getting over the cast making sure theyre next to each other in the group pic, theyre so loved’ ↳ ‘you mean paul specifically lol’
After a few pictures were snapped, a coordinator in charge of the media coverage told you to reshuffle. They wanted a few photos of Fred with Joseph and Denzel, and some of just the two of them. Some of Connie and Pedro, and some with Paul as well. A mixture of photos that represented their work together on screen. And of course they wanted some of you and Fred, and some with Joseph. And the last group on the list was you, Fred, and Paul.
When Paul came to join you, he placed his arm across Fred's on your lower back, both of their hands now landing on either side of your waist. “Hey,” He smiled warmly at you. “You alright?”
You hummed in confirmation. “Thank you for that, back there.” You tilted your head to the side, knowing Paul would understand that you meant how he made sure to put you next to Fred in the group photo.
“I have no clue what you're talking about.” He smirked, eyes fixed forwards on the cameras. But his hand squeezing lightly at your waist told you otherwise. He was so perceptive when it came to you, making you feel like you were an open book. It brought you back to a day on set. A long time ago. When the concept of you and Fred was something you were too afraid to talk about out loud in fear of ruining the magic of it. Your relationship was on the precipice, the very edge of friendship before the ocean of something more.
The day, you had confided in Paul about the very thing that led him to do what he did only moments ago.
~
“You guys are cute.” He had said, catching you admiring your lock screen. It was a picture of you and Fred on a picnic blanket. Paul had taken it the day before. Everyone on set thought it was a nice idea to have lunch outside. The weather was perfect, the grass was green, and there were butterflies everywhere. You and Fred took a blanket for yourselves, to no one’s surprise.
It was the next day that you were sitting with Paul on the set of the Colosseum and he showed you the picture he took of you. You quickly changed your phone wallpaper after he sent you the photo at your request. It wasn’t anything fancy, his film was still getting developed, though he promised you loads of pictures from that once it was done. This picture was just taken on his phone camera, but it was just as beautiful to you. He was so talented with cameras, capturing each moment beautifully you could almost hear it.
“Thanks.” You replied, avoiding his eyes. It felt strange—this fragile stage of something new unfolding under so many watchful eyes. But you knew that would be a sacrifice that you’d have to make. Especially with how slow you were going with Fred.
“Does it make you uncomfortable?” Paul asked. You hummed in response, asking for elaboration. “Us watching?”
“What do you mean?” You asked, needing further explanation. He couldn’t read your mind, could he? Was he really asking about the same thing you were thinking of? Were you that easy to read? Maybe to Paul, you were.
“I know you guys are taking it slow,” Paul said softly, like it was a secret he wasn’t supposed to know. Your eyes lifted to meet his. “Fred told me.”
“He talks to you about me?” You asked, your smile evident in the tone of your voice.
“Always.” He replied, smiling just as wide as you unknowingly were. You and Fred were some of his closest friends on set. You all had the same sense of humor and attitude towards life, it was easy to find companionship with the two of you. And he wasn’t surprised that you two found love within each other. But he worried about it at times. “He always talks about you.”
“All good things, I hope.” You chuckled quietly, the smile ever growing on your face as you thought of what Fred might tell Paul in your absence. Maybe he mentioned your weird obsession with stuffed animals, or how you clung to his arm whenever the two of you went for a walk.
After a beat of silence, you remembered his question and your brows knitted in thought. “Why would it make me uncomfortable?”
Paul inhaled through his nose and looked out onto the bleachers ahead of you. “I don’t know… It’s just that- I don’t think I would be comfortable in your position, is all.”
“Why is that?” You knew how you felt about it all, but you always explained away your emotions. A bad habit, you knew. But you were genuinely curious and wanted to hear a somewhat objective opinion on this whole situation.
“Just feels so-” He looked back at you now, studying you. Hoping, even, to see something telling in your expression at his confession. “Exposed, in a way. Raw. Like these feelings that really only one person should know about are on display to everyone around me.”
“Says the guy who had a first date on a live stream.” You retorted, the playful jab coming quick to mind.
Paul shook his head with a chuckle. “You know what I mean, dickhead.”
Your head cocked to the side as you thought of his words, truly taking them in. “I guess it does kind of make me feel strange.”
“Yeah?” Paul’s brows raised, appraising your face once more.
You nodded with a hum. “I’ve never- I mean, I’ve never really had a proper relationship. I don’t think I can even call this one a proper relationship. Not yet, anyways. And when I really think of it, it does feel a little unfair that what I always thought would be intimate and private is on display like this.”
“I’m sorry.” Paul spoke morosely.
“It’s not your fault.” You smiled softly, placing your hand on his.
“Feels like it is sometimes.” He admitted. You shot him a questioning look. “‘Cause of the pictures.” He explained. “I just want to capture the moment. For you guys, not for anyone else. But whenever I point a camera your way, it’s like I’m pulling everyone’s attention to you with it. I feel guilty whenever you two are having a moment and everyone’s staring. You’re not doing anything wrong.”
“I think we’re asking for it a little.” You huffed out a laugh, squinting in the sun. The underlying bitterness in your voice didn’t go unnoticed by Paul. “It’s a bit dumb to try and start a relationship in an environment like this. Months on end on one set with the same group of people. It’s annoying to have everyone’s attention like that, but everyone else probably thinks we’re annoying too.”
“No, don’t say that.” Paul shook his head, his eyes sharp as he shot down your self-blame. “You don’t plan out relationships in advance, that’s not how things work. We’re not like normal people, we don’t get to clock out and go home when time’s up. We’ve moved to fuckin’ Malta, we film day and night. We eat, sleep, and breathe on this set. And if something like that does happen, where would you even hide it? You can’t! Not that well anyways… You guys are doing this well. Better than most.”
“You think?”
“Yeah, I do.” He nodded with certainty. “And I… I didn’t know this was your first relationship. I’m sorry. It’s not fair to you.” He apologized again and your heart squeezed.
“Yeah.” Your lips pressed together in a combination of agreement and embarrassment. “But it’s okay. To answer your question, I mean. I don’t think- I don’t feel uncomfortable.”
“No?”
“No.” You shook your head. “He makes me feel safe—like I’m home. Like we’re in a bubble where nothing bad can happen.”
~
Tucked into Fred’s side, surrounded by the cameras and the noise of the final premiere, you felt that same comfort—like you were in your own bubble with him. There were still interviews, panels, and endless appearances ahead, but this moment felt like the end of something special. And you were grateful that Fred was here, anchoring you through it all.

It had been exactly eleven years since your beautiful baby girl Charlotte was born, Molly and Arthur Weasley's first grandchild. Born a pureblood, she would be going to Hogwarts this September and you couldn't be more proud. From all the stories Charlotte heard about your time at Hogwarts, she knew she would have the time of her life. Especially since all the stories were about you, her father, and her uncles. You would tell her all the stories of how the twins and Lee would set up pranks only to be scolded by McGonagall. Sometimes you had to scold them too.
You missed the days where you had no care in life except for your studies. You missed spending every single day with your favorite people and seeing them everyday. You missed everything Hogwarts had to offer before the war began.
But even after all the chaos it brought, your sweet girl was born. The only righteous matter to come out of the war.
"Mum, what's that?" Charlotte sat beside you on the couch and perched her head on your shoulder as she looked inside the box you brought out, beautiful red hair draping over your body.
Her gaze was drawn to the different sized parchment, each one having different drawings and dates. Charlotte picked one up and read the name, eyes widening at the signatures signed at the bottom. They were her father's and there were so many of them. "Whoa."
"What're you doing, creeper?" You laugh softly and pull her to sit in front of you, kissing the top of her head when she put the note back inside the box.
"What are all of those?” She gestured to the box and looked at you with curious eyes, fingers moving to touch the gold ring around your left hand; A habit she picked up from you whenever you felt the need to fidget. “Did dad send you all of those?”
You nod and clasp your hand around hers, feeling her pulse. "Yeah, he uhm,” You cleared your throat and blinked fast, ridding yourself of the tears that wanted to spill over. "He would write me one from the day we met until he… Your dad would even write me notes when I was just sitting next to him in class."
You pursed your lips and looked down, mind going through years and years of memories. Every time you received a new note, you wrote down the date to keep track of how long he had been doing it.
"There's so many..." Charlotte looked in awe and made out some of the dates, many of them dating back to when you were eleven. “He must have loved you a lot, mum. Especially since you kept all of them.”
You let out a chuckle, your hand reaching up to hold the gold ring adorning your necklace, thumb feeling the lettering inside. “Well, your dad was head over heels for me, Char.” You watched her pick up different parchment and smiled softly at how intrigued she was.
“Here, pick a couple and I'll tell you the stories behind them.” You hand her the box and watch her eyes light up before closing them and plucking out five pieces of parchment, handing them to you with glee.
Charlotte folded her arms over her knees, cheek resting against her arm. She watched your eyes water again at the notes she picked, making her bite her bottom lip. She didn’t want you to cry. She hated seeing you cry. Especially when it was over her father.
“Do you…” She started and met your eyes again, giving you a small smile in hopes of getting you to smile again. “Do you remember how you got all of them?”
"Of course, I do." You sent her a short grin and tucked pieces of her hair behind her ear, her brown eyes and red hair oh-so familiar to you. "I remember it all too well."

“Weasley, you’re late to your own date.” You wave the parchment in his face and bite back a smile when he rolls his eyes and takes the note from you. “You said to meet you in the courtyard at exactly 3PM.”
Everyone had already left for Hogsmeade and you were left standing in the courtyard with the handmade scarf Mrs. Weasley made for you, the wind blowing it around. You weren’t actually upset with Fred, this happened more than once already, but he had time to serve with Filch whenever he pulled a stunt worse than usual.
“No, it says 3:30PM.” He tapped his wand on the parchment and sent you a lopsided grin, this time making you roll your eyes. “You look, Lupin.”
You took the note from his hands and read it out loud, giving him an exasperated look. He pulled you close by the waist, tilting his head down to meet your eyes. He loved the height difference you had with him, being a whole head shorter than him gave him lots of pun material.
“Wow, it says 3:30PM all of a sudden.” You tuck the parchment into your pocket and strain your neck to look at him. He still wore that smile you loved, making you push up on your toes to kiss him properly.
He grinned into the kiss and pressed his lips against yours multiple times until he was satisfied, adjusting the scarf you wore when he separated from you. You sigh softly and push locks of his red hair away from his eyes, meeting the beautiful brown eyes that you adored.
“Now did you actually leave on time? Or did you leave when Filch wasn’t looking?” You question him as you began the descent away from Hogwarts, careful to walk around the rocky terrain.
“I’m offended! Who do you think I am?” Fred laced his hand with yours and guided you safely around the trail to Hogsmeade, looking over yours clothes to insure you were dressed properly for the fall weather in Scotland. “Of course I left when Filch wasn’t looking.”
You smack his chest with the back of your hand and shake your head, not even a little surprised with the stunt he pulled. “Frederick Gideon Weasley.”
“What? I promised a date to the prettiest girl at Hogwarts.” He squeezed your hand before pulling you closer to him, looking around the area in confusion. “Speaking off, have you seen here? We were supposed to meet up at 3PM back at the courtyard.”
“I knew we were supposed to meet up a three, you prat!” You exclaim and smack him once more, making him laugh. He crookedly smiled, loving how you completely ignored his short jab to defend yourself about the right time you were supposed to meet.
Fred leaned down and pressed another kiss to your lips, effectively shutting you up. You let out a small noise before indulging him, placing a hand on his cheek before pulling away.
“That’s not fair.” You whisper to him, lips grazing his when you spoke. You peered down at his lips before back up to his eyes, smiling when you knew you got caught.
“Nothing’s ever fair, Lupin.” He murmured and smiled back at you, thumb softly tracing his initials into your covered hip.
You felt so much love from Fred — although it did take you years to finally agree to go on a date with him. Maybe it was to spite your dad when he began teaching at Hogwarts, but you truly loved Fred. You had known his family for far too long to ignore the heart that only beats for him.
12/25/1994
“Why is it we learned how to ballroom dance together only to ditch and sneak off to the kitchens?” You ask in a low voice, not wanting to break the calmness that fell over the both of you as you moved further and further away from the bustling Great Hall.
Your hands were laced behind your back as you walked beside Fred, letting the silence overtake after an overstimulating two hours at the Yule Ball. You weren’t even planning to go because you knew your social battery wouldn't be able to handle so many people in one room, but Fred convinced you to go with a simple heart-shaped piece of parchment.
“'Cause you needed a breather. I could see it in your eyes.” He nudged your shoulder gently before slipping his arm around your waist, letting you rest your head on his shoulder; The smell of lemon ginger cookies and firecrackers filling your senses from the suit jacket he wrapped around you earlier.
You smiled softly at his actions as he led you down toward the kitchens. He was everything you never knew you needed and it made your heart swell with so much love. You never wanted to leave his side.
Fred came to the conclusion that the elves loved you a lot more than him when you dismissed them with a bright smile. Whenever he and George visited during the midnight runs, they would always greet them. When you were with him and George, the elves would do anything you asked them to without any hesitation.
While you moved around the space to make a quick snack for the both of you, Fred simply admired you. He admired how beautiful you looked doing such a mundane task or how you would always click your heel whenever you were counting something. He was so in love that watching you just stand and cross your arms when the stove wasn't cooperating made he grin stupidly.
Before he realized what exactly he was doing, you sent him a confused look. "You haven't spoke in like—" You looked over to the wall clock, raising your brows in surprise. "Ten minutes. Are you okay?"
Fred hummed and pulled you to stand in front of him, his hands coming down to rest at the curve of your waist. “Can’t I admire how beautiful you look, Lupin?”
You squint your eyes at him and meet the brown eyes that have been staring at you for quite some time. Although he was bold most times, you saw how raw and genuine his words were.
“I mean, even without trying you just look,” Fred laced his hand with yours and slowly spun you around, breath catching when you faced him once more. He was so enamored with you — no spell was strong enough to break the enchantment. "Absolutely stunning."
You try hiding a smile that made its way onto your face, only settling into it when he moved to kiss your neck. You grasp the back of his shoulders and sigh softly, shutting your eyes briefly before he parted and smirked at your breathless look.
"I wanna marry you." Fred murmurs and thumbs your bottom lip, catching you give him your golden smile. "The only thing I want to do before I die is marry you."
You hum and rest your hands on his chest, fingers playing with his lapels. You wanted nothing more to marry the man in front of you. Every little thing he did was like painting a perfect picture, and you wanted to frame it forever and ever. He would be the only oath you were willing to take.
“Let’s dance for a little while.” He suggested as the muffled music coming from the Great Hall wandered into the kitchens, a slow song coming on at a perfect time. “There’s music and the candle light by the fridge.”
“Just us?" You ask almost like you needed the reassurance, watching him bow and take your hand like any waltz started. He clasped his hand with yours and began to take the calculated steps he learned only a few weeks ago.
“Just us.” He reassured you and snuck a kiss to your lips, earning an eye roll and lopsided grin.
Yeah, this was it for the both of you.
05/26/1996
Fred knew that you would be upset if you found out that him and George were planning on leaving Hogwarts without graduating. Especially since you were so keen on helping the both of them study for their N.E.W.T.S. He knew you wanted to graduate with him by your side, but what good would graduating from Hogwarts be if he and George had a plan that could be set in motion right now?
He was going to tell you a couple weeks ago, but you got so busy with studying for N.E.W.T.S. and ensuring you would get 'outstanding' in all subjects. So he decided to wait. Well, until you found the note he was planning to give you.
You were absolutely heartbroken. The entire day you wanted nothing to do with him, even sitting beside Angelina during potions just to avoid him. But he eventually found you sitting at the top of the astronomy tower, head resting on your knees and fingers playing with the gold necklace he got you the year before.
Guilt was eating Fred up from the inside out. Starting with his heart.
“Are you really leaving without graduating?” You murmured when you felt his body heat approach you, head still staring forward toward the forbidden forest.
Fred sighed and sat beside you, running his fingers through his hair. “The system isn’t working for us right now and—" Then he heard the sound that absolutely crushed him. He heard the hiccup that would soon become sobbing. "Lovey, what’s wrong?”
You were quick to bury your head in your arms. You knew Fred could read you like a book and anything you did now would trigger his different responses. When you sniffled, you knew it was game over.
“Okay, lovey, you're crying.” He pulled you around so that you were sitting in front of him and gently moved your arms away from your face, his own face falling at the way you look at him.
Your eyes were wet with tears, your lip was quivering, and it pained him to know he caused it. You wanted to tell him it wasn't his fault, but if you tried to speak, you would completely fall apart. Everything was stressing you out and the note just pushed you over the edge.
“You know I'll be at the station when you get back.” Fred murmured and tucked your hair behind your ears, listening to your uneven breaths. "I won't leave you forever."
You hiccup and turn your head, biting your bottom lip to help stabilize yourself. "I-I just thought we would have more t-time together before everything got s-so serious outside of Hogwarts."
Fred tilted his head and tried his best to meet your eyes, "But you know that's not the case, lovey. You'll be living with Georgie and I, and you know were aren't exactly the most serious people."
You let out a wet laugh and look down, fingers coming up to play with the infinity symbol on you necklace. Fred smiled softly at your laugh. At least he knew you weren't too terribly upset over the predicament.
“If I do w-well on my N.E.W.T.S, I'll be t-training full time as a h-healer.” You hiccup and trace the symbol over itself, still trying to calm down as best as you could. “And I know you two will run your business together most of the time. So I don't—”
“Lovey, look at me." Fred pleaded and lightly cupped your cheek, tilting your head so he could face you properly. "Nothing will ever come between you and me. You were in my past, currently living in my present, and you are indefinitely my future. You are my everything and I refuse to leave this spot until you give me that golden smile I love."
Your laugh softly and give him that golden smile, "I love you, Fred Weasley."

Fred proposed to you a couple of months ago. It wasn’t anything too extravagant or crazy, but you definitely cried like a baby when he got down on one knee and revealed a gorgeous gold ring you swore cost more than how much the twins made a month. Flash forward, you were having a wedding at the Burrow surrounded by family and loved ones.
After vows were said and the most passionate kiss was exchanged, you and Fred were immediately separated. He was pulled to talk to family he didn't even know were family while you were stuck plastering a fake smile to Sirius and Remus who kept going on and on about how happy they were for you.
Eventually the both of you were able to get away, running away from your own reception like you would if you were still in Hogwarts. You laughed as you both made it to the edge of the forest, resting your head on his shoulder. Although you were both only nineteen, you knew that this would be forever.
“Do you think they'll realize the bride and groom are missing from their own wedding?” You let your laughter subside and following him wherever he was guiding you. Was it such a good idea to follow him blindly? Not really, but you trusted Fred. "Where are we going?"
“You’ll see.” He moved a hand to cover your eyes and helped you maneuver through the foliage.
It felt like an hour of just walking and constantly trying to peek through his hands until he stopped abruptly, causing you to stumble over your own heeled feet. He helped stabilize you before removing his hand, letting you look at the sight in front of you.
“Tada!”
The sight was drop dead gorgeous. Almost every single note he had ever wrote to you was floating around a cleared part of the forest, small wisps of light acting as your guide to each and every date. Your eyes were filled with tears as you went up to one of the earliest notes, the date going back to the first week of your first year at Hogwarts.
“When did you ever have the time to do this?” You murmured and looked around, hand coming up to play with your golden necklace, the same one he got you forever ago.
“I have six siblings, I can get them to do my bidding.” Fred shrugged and flicked his wand, the song from the Yule Ball playing in the background. From where you would never know. “Shall we dance, Mrs. Weasley?”
"We shall." You smile brightly and clasp your hands in his, letting him guide you through the same waltz. You squealed when he spun you around and fell into his arms, both of your gold rings flashing from the light. The rings that were a promise of love and happiness.
“Thank you.” You look up at him with so much love and sigh. He was now yours forever, bound by the vows you cried to.
He looked between your eyes and tilted his head, "For what, lovey?"
"Just for being yourself. Everything that you do is just..." You find no other way to express what the feeling was, racking your brain for a word but unable to fine the proper wording. You push up on your toes and kiss him silly, pulling away just as fast. "That's what it feels like."
Fred felt warmth coat his cheeks and neck, lowering his head so he was mere millimeters away from your face. “You love me.”
“I love you, yes.” You look down at his lips before looking back up to the brown eyes you fell in love with so many years ago. "That's why I married you, dummy."
"Good thing you did too, your dad was going to kill me if I just wasted all your time. You know how hard it was to convince your dad I actually love you?" Fred complained as he dipped you, smirking when you gasped at the sudden movement. He pressed a quick kiss to your lips before pulling you back up.
You furrow your brow before breaking out in laughter as you remember the memories of him trying to get the Remus Lupin to like him. “He’s not that hard to charm, Fred!”
“Considering it took me months to even get him on board of the idea of you marrying me, I don’t believe it.” Fred kept you close, swaying to the music that was now coming to an end.
“Whatever.” You press a kiss to his jaw. “I love you either way.”
04/25/1998
The entire day you've been a wreck. The note you held in your hands felt like a weight, and you wanted to toss it to Fred as fast as possible. Your nerves were killing you, slowly making you twitchy at every movement. You weren't sure how Fred would react to the news, but when you found out, you threw up. Well, you weren't sure if that was because you were scared or if it was morning sickness.
“Georgie, has Fred gone on break yet?” You wander down into the store and pick at your nails, narrowly avoiding two kids chasing each other throughout the store.
“Ah, not yet. He’s dealing with a particularly tough customer. I’ll send him up for you once he’s done though.” George sent you a sympathetic smile and flicked his wand, watching the stairs turn to help the kids return back to their parents.
His smile soon fell into a frown when he noticed how sick you were looking. He knew that you were pregnant, but it was well past the morning and you were sitting upstairs merely working on papers.
“What’s wrong?” He asked and put an arm around your shoulder, guiding you away from the crowds so there were no stragglers to listen in on the conversation.
You purse your lips and spin the golden ring adorning your left hand, head reeling at the thought of telling Fred about the pregnancy. “I’m telling him today.”
“Oo, yeah. Can’t wait to see the look on that wanker’s face.” George chuckled and earned a punch to the arm from you, causing him to recoil and glare.
“Hey!” You scold and place a hand over the lower half of your stomach. “You can’t say that anymore, there’s a child present!”
“Aw, you’re no fun anymore now that you’re married and becoming a mother.” George stuck his tongue out at you before sending you a reassuring smile and giving you a thumbs up. “Congratulations, you can do it."
You nodded and made your way back up to the flat above the store, pacing back and forth from the living room to the kitchen. The nerves were getting worse. The note soon became overly crinkled and you swore your socks were getting tarnished by how many times you frustratedly spun around on your heel.
By the time you thought your nerves were finally settling, Fred walked in with the smile you loved. Your emotions sky rocketed and you ran into his arms, burying your head in his neck while he supported you up by the back of your thighs.
"Did you miss me already?" He chuckled and pressed a kiss to your cheek, earning a quiet 'yes' from you. "Aw, lovey."
After a few seconds of practically gluing yourself to him, you finally pulled away and pressed a proper kiss to his lips. He smiled and thumbed the skin available to him. You hum and direct him toward the couch, pulling away only to giggle when he chased your lips. He sent you a joking pout, ready to protest when you shoved the note into his hands.
"What is this?" He unfolded the paper and stared at you with so much love you felt a cavity coming in. "Turning the tables on me? I— Fucking hell."
"Fred!" You smacked his chest before meeting his brown eyes, unsure of the emotion behind them. "So?"
"So what?" His grinned and tackled you onto the couch, peppering your face in kisses. "You're pregnant! I'll be a father!"
You laugh at the feeling of his kisses, "You're not mad?"
"Godric, how could I be mad at you? You're having my child!" Fred kissed you senselessly, free hand coming down to rest on your stomach. "We're going to be parents!"
"We're going to be parents." You say to him and cup his face, letting your stored tears free fall from joy. "You and me."
"Just us." Fred wiped away your tears and sighed, resting his forehead on yours. "Us and the little one."
05/02/1998
You promised Fred you would stay home today. You promised him. But he never promised he would return home to you, causing you to rush over to the Hogwarts as soon as possible. When you arrived, the war was already won, but you didn't care. You wanted to see your husband.
“Where is he?” You ask the first person you find, sighing in relief when you see the youngest Weasley. You excused yourself and ran over to her, grasping Ginny’s arm before seeing her solemn expression, making you internally panic. “Ginny, where is your brother?”
Although you never specified, she knew exactly who you were asking for. She bit her lip and pointed to where George was kneeling, burying her head in your shoulder. You felt your heart constrict as you held her closely, breath catching at the sight in front of you. Molly was wiping her own tears when she saw you, pulling her daughter away from you so you could see Fred yourself.
“No no no no no no.” You fall to your knees and catch your breath, looking at Fred through wet eyes. A sob threatened to escape your throat when you felt for his hand, the warmth of his hand now gone and replaced with cold. You choked on tears and let yourself cry, hiding your face in his shoulder.
You begged the universe for this to be a horrible joke that everyone was in on. That Fred was okay and well, only pretending to be dead.
"Freddie, please." You cry and clutch his hand tighter, feeling for the gold band that represented your everlasting love. "I need you to wake up, Weasley. I-I can't do this without you. How am I s-supposed to—" You choked on your words, sobbing once more. You couldn't even finish your sentences.
When you felt a pair of arms pull you away from Fred, reality hit you like a train wreck. You stumbled over your feet as you stared at his dead body. Fred Weasley was really gone.
"What happened?" You whisper and stare at Fred, tears still falling. You felt so helpless. You were a healer and there was nothing you could do. When no one answered you, you whipped around and stared at whoever carried you away, another sob threatening to spill over when you saw George. "What happened, George?"
“There was an explosion.” He whispered and pulled you into a hug, letting you cry for a second. He had his last moment with Fred, but you hadn't seen him in hours.
You sobbed and collapsed in his arms, cries ringing out into the Great Hall. The pain you felt was nothing like you ever experienced before. You did everything you could do try and deny it, but no matter what you thought of, the sight of his dead body seemed to appear.
Tumblr media
“George, why are we at Hogwarts?” You huff and follow him into a restricted room.
You weren't even supposed to be at Hogwarts and somehow you were standing on the very grounds your heart shattered. Your daughter just started a few weeks ago, but George somehow convinced you to return and dragged you to a room you've never seen before.
George glanced down at you, noticing your distant gaze, like you weren't safe inside the building anymore. “Have you been to Hogwarts since the war?”
“No.” You purse your lips and push the thought of the war away, brows creasing when you see how clean and furbished the room was. “Why? I need to get going soon. My shift—"
“Just look.” He pointed toward one side of the room, revealing the little contents of the room.
You frowned when you looked over. There was nothing of interest. “I can see the Mirror of Erised and a covered portrait.”
“Pull the bloody cover off.” George rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, shaking his head when you stuck your tongue out at him.
“Okay, but I’m not looking at the mirror.” You sighed and covered your eyes when passing the mirror. When you stood in front of the portrait, you pulled the cover off and gave George an annoyed smile. “I don’t understand—" When he gestured for you to look back over, you rolled your eyes before gasping, dropping the cloth without realizing a piece of parchment was attached to the front of it. "Oh my, Fred Weasley.”
“Hi, lovey.” Fred winked at you, wearing that smirk you haven't seen in years. When he saw tears falling from your face, he frowned and seemingly reached out to you. “Why are you crying? Did George upset you?”
“No, in fact he made me happy.” You spoke through tears and wiped your tears, smiling sadly. “I get to see you again.”
Fred grinned again and clapped his hands. “It’s been forever since I saw you last, Lupin. Where were you?”
You furrow your brows and look at George in confusion. “Does he—?” George shook his head and handed you the parchment that fell. You quickly peeled it open and wiped your tears once more as you read the contents. "He made it for a prank he never committed to." You huff and shake your head before responding to Fred. “I’ve been out and about, Weasley.”
He tilted his head and scanned your figure up and down, confusion written all over his face. “It seems as if we have a predicament here.”
“And what is that?” You murmur and step closer to the portrait, not realizing George had left you alone to have a moment with Fred.
“I want to hug you, but the best I can do is talk.” Fred sent you a lopsided grin and blew a kiss at you, making you laugh.
“Seems like a big problem.” You nod in agreement and sigh, wrapping your arms around your midsection. “I’ll understand what you mean.”
“In that case, I’m giving you the biggest hug right now.” Fred spread his arms wide and pretended to give you a hug before his eyes caught the gold ring around your left hand. “Where’d you get the ring, lovey?”
“Uhm…” You look down and spin the ring, smiling down at the piece of jewelry. “I got it from you a bit ago.”
Fred beamed in joy before he flattened again, looking around like he could see past the frame. “Where am I?”
“Home.” You muster a smile and wipe a tear that managed to escape, hands shaking. “You’re at home with your mum and dad. Don’t worry though, they wanted to actually hang out with you.”
Fred scoffed and shook his head, “Still rude as ever, Lupin.”
“Not as bad as you, Weasley.” You laugh softly and hold back anymore tears, hands finding Fred’s adjacent ring hanging around your neck. “I miss you.”
“I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

“You're going to be fine,” George soothed, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“Yeah, Bill’s not so bad. You aren't scared of us, are ‘ya? So there's no need to be scared of him,” Fred added, bumping your knee with his.
You were sandwiched between them on a hard wooden bench in Gringott's, just outside their older brothers office, his name emblazoned in gold on the fogged door window. The twins, two of your closest friends from school, had secured you an interview for a coveted internship in the Ancient Artifacts Department, and you hadn't slept in a week leading up to it.
This was your dream job, a real stepping stone to the career you'd always imagined for yourself. You couldn't screw this up.
But that didn't quite explain the bone-deep anxiety clawing through your skin. It felt like you were standing on the edge of a cliff, one foot hanging into empty space.
Then, a shadow crossed the fogged mirror, tall and broad, and you shivered.
“You've got this,” George murmured at the same moment the door handle turned. It swung open, and your heart fell through the marble floor.
Bill Weasley was, objectively, terrifying. He had none of the softness of the twins, none of the jovial ease of youth. He was dressed in a white button down with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and charcoal trousers, traces of magic glittering along his forearms.
Standing at least a head taller than the twins, he had long copper hair and sharp cheekbones, deep scars across the left side of his face that only enhanced the striking beauty of his features. His green eyes were arresting, challenging in the way they swept across the hall before settling on you.
“Bill!” Fred said, jumping up, and Bill’s demeanor immediately shifted into something friendlier.
“Freddie,” Bill said, extending a hand to his younger brother with an expression you could almost call warm.
“Bill, this is our friend, y/n,” George said, getting up to shake his brother's hand, and you rose to your feet, hoping he didn't notice the slight tremble in your knees.
“Pleasure, y/n. I'm Bill Weasley, Head of the Ancient Artifacts Department here at Gringott's.” He extended a hand to you, calloused and long-fingered, a golden signet ring on his middle finger.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Weasley,” you said, placing your hand in his for a brief shake. He was gentle, but you could feel the undercurrent of strength in his movement, the intention he had to put towards being soft.
“Fred and George have told me a lot about you,” Bill said, glancing at his brother's. “You’re interested in Blessed Artifacts, correct?”
You nodded. “Yes, primarily magical items created with the intention of offering protection or assistance,” you answered, fighting the nervous heat climbing up your neck.
The corner of his mouth lifted, scrunching the scars across his cheek and eyebrow. “The opposite of what I do, hm?”
You laughed nervously. “Yeah, I suppose. Though I've studied your curse-breaking work extensively. A curse and a blessing are two sides of the same coin, and we can learn a lot about the workings of one from the other.”
Bill’s expression shifted slightly, his eyes narrowing and skimming over your face, and suddenly you knew what it felt like to be one of his artifacts.
No wonder he never crossed a curse he couldn't break.
“Step into my office, I have a few questions before we discuss terms of the internship. I'll see you two this weekend at the Burrow, yeah?”
“Yep!” Fred and George chirped in unison, and Bill slipped back into his office. The twins gave you a big thumbs up and you gave a nervous chuckle, waving them away before following Bill into his office.
It was nothing at all like you expected. Two enormous windows filled the back wall, spilling grey light across the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves along the left wall. The shelves were overflowing with tomes and littered with artifacts, more than you'd ever seen outside for a museum or Dumbledore’s office. They perfumed the air with the scent of parchment and sandalwood, the warm musk of incense.
The carpet was plush under your feet, a mesmerizing pattern of deep maroon and teal, and overstuffed furniture rested against the right wall, a couch and two arm chairs framed by more loaded shelves and a gallery wall of shifting art.
But most surprising was his desk. It looked like it belonged in a research tent in the desert, not a gold-plated bank. It was covered in tools and stacks of paper, open books and deconstructed items, half-drank mugs of tea and a spilled ink pot.
“You look surprised,” he mused, following your eye.
“I didn't realize you still did field research,” you admitted sheepishly. “Now that you're head of the department.”
Bill shrugged, grabbing a mug and a stack of papers from the table and gesturing to the furniture against the wall. “I prefer the hands-on approach. Please, have a seat. Can I get you anything?”
“Oh, no thank you,” you answered, sinking into one of the arm chairs. It was so comfortable, you had to force yourself to sit upright. You could smell his cologne on the leather, vetiver and black pepper, and it made your chest warm.
He sat in the other armchair, bracing an ankle on the opposite knee. “So, how did you come to befriend my brother's?” He asked, taking a sip of tea.
“Fred needed some help in Charms,” you said, crossing your legs. “Then George needed help in Potions. And we just worked well together. They're good friends.
“So you're the reason they didn't flunk out, hm?”
You shook your head. “Not at all. They just needed a different perspective. They did the work themselves.”
Bill nodded, shuffling the papers in his lap. “Have you ever worked with curses directly? Beyond Defense Against the Dark Arts?”
You shook your head. “I don't have a lot of experience with curses, but I can read magic well, and have an eye for detail. I know I'm not the most qualified of the candidates you've probably met with, but this is my dream, and it would be such an honor to learn from the best— ”
“It's alright, y/n,” Bill stopped you with a small shake of his head, his low voice demanding acquiescence. “You're clearly bright, and determined to learn. That's more valuable to me than anything else.”
You exhaled in relief. “I appreciate that, Mr. Weasley,” you said, offering a small smile.
“Bill,” he corrected. “Bill is fine.”
Your heart gave an excited thump, and you nodded.
“So, for this internship, you'd be working directly with me, mostly archiving artifacts as they come in and out of the bank. You'll be spending a lot of time here and in the vaults. The pay isn't great, but if you do well over the six months term, there's potential for full-time employment.” He passed a contract to you, a quill floating over from his desk and into your hand. “And you're welcome to conduct supervised independent research whenever there's downtime.”
You blinked, shocked at the employment contract in your lap. “You don't—you don't have any more questions for me?” You asked.
Bill shook his head, giving you an amused smile. “You already showed that your head and heart are in the right place, and I trust my brother’s judgement. If they like you this much, there must be a reason.”
“I—thank you, sir,” you said, a grin breaking through as you signed your name on the line. The ink blazed gold before settling back to black, the contract magically binding.
Bill rose, extending a hand to help you to your feet. “Welcome aboard, y/n.”
Tumblr media
The first few days of your internship were spent with members of Bill’s team, taking lengthy tours of Gringotts and the Archives. You quite liked Rumi and Kira, two of the lead archivists, but had a difficult time with Waylan, the Collector, as they called him, who seemed to have it out for you.
You waited with bated breath for your first project with Bill, but you'd barely seen him since you started. You brought it up to Kira at breakfast one morning, and she chuckled.
“He's around, I promise. Hardly goes anywhere else. But we usually only see him if he needs something.”
“Or when we fuck something up,” Rumi added, and you chuckled.
Kira rolled her eyes. “They're being dramatic. Bill's not nearly as scary as he looks.”
“Aren't I?”
The three of you jumped, turning to find Bill leaning against the wall beside Rumi’s seat. He looked exceptionally handsome this morning, his hair tucked behind his ears, a single strand falling over his eyes, dressed in finely pressed white shirt and navy trousers.
“Well you are when you sneak up on people!” Rumi laughed, and Bill cracked a smile.
“Apologies, mate. Y/n, ready for your first assignment?” His eyes met yours, brilliant as polished jade, and your tongue forgot how to function.
“Oh, uh, yes, sir!”
“Sir?” Kira snorted. “Are we supposed to call you ‘sir’?”
Bill shook his head. “I’d rather you didn't, but maybe you could use a lesson in manners from this one,” he teased, stealing Kira’s croissant. “Come along, fledgling,” he said, his deep voice resonant and rough around the edges.
The nickname jolted through you like a lightning strike, heating your blood to a simmer, and you nearly gasped, hiding your reaction by taking a final swig of breakfast tea.
Fuck no, you were not developing a crush on your boss. Get it together, you chastised yourself.
You got to your feet and hurried after him through the dining hall and into the wrought iron elevator. He held the door for you as you scurried in. The grate rolled shut, and the machine heaved off the ground with a metallic groan.
“Glad to you see you're getting along with the team,” he remarked, eyes trained up to watch the pulley system.
“Yes, they've been very welcoming,” you said, resisting the urge to stare at the hard angle of his jaw, the reddish stubble dusting it and spreading down his throat.
“There's a lot they can teach you. They're some of the best in the business,” he said, glancing down at you as the elevator came to stop. The doors rolled open and he strolled out, his long legs taking him a third of the way down the hall before you managed to get your knees to unlock.
You caught up to him at his office door. “What are we working on?” You asked, excitement building as you followed him to his desk.
He moved around it, stopping in front of a black velvet box. Carefully, he lifted the lid. “Waylan brought this back last month, and I hadn't been able to crack it until our meeting.”
“Oh?” Your heart began to beat a little faster, eyes fixed not on the box containing the object, but the way his deft fingers handled it with such a care.
He turned the box around, revealing a stunning necklace, dripping with black sapphires and diamonds, the chain a thick and luscious gold.
You gasped, covering your mouth. It was the most beautiful piece of jewelry you'd ever seen.
He smiled at your reaction before catching himself, returning to neutral, if a bit curious, expression. “I hadn't considered that it might be a blessed object until our conversation.” He gingerly lifted the necklace from the box, the luxurious stones creating a stark contrast against his laborers hands. “And if I read the magical signature correctly, it should be a chameleon charm. To make any spectator see what they want to see in the wearer.” He came around behind you and you lost your breath, his closeness overwhelming your senses.
There was something about him that tilted the axis of the world, bending everything to center around him. He had his own gravity, his own magnetic force that you were struggling to resist.
“May I?” He asked, and you nodded, holding your breath as the cool stones kissed your clavicle, his fingertips ghosted the edge of your throat.
With a small click, the necklace was fastened around your neck. You could feel the magic in it, warm and buzzing as it spread through you.
Bill stepped away, moving back around to your front, and his brow furrowed.
“What? Did I grow a horn?” You joked, trying to dispel the tension winding tighter between you.
He shook his head, stepping back to ring a silver bell by his desk, a small plaque reading ‘Kira’ beneath it. There was one for each of you, you noticed.
A moment later, Kira walked in. “What's up, boss? Oh, did you change, y/n? I absolutely love that designer in Hogsmeade. His work is stunning,” Kira praised. “Sorry, can I help with something?” She said, turning to Bill.
Bill’s frown deepened as his eyes skimmed over you. “That'll be all, Kira. Thank you.”
“Oh, uh, okay. Let me know if you want to go shopping sometime, y/n!” She said before stepping back out of the office.
“So, she saw something in common that we didn't have before,” you observed, moving to jot some notes down on a piece of parchment in an attempt to stay on track despite the frustrated look on his face. “What do you see?”
“You can take it off. I need you to decode the magic signature yourself, archive the piece and charm accordingly, and see if you can replicate it on something else,” he directed, turning away and rustling through some pages on his desk.
“Sure, no problem.” Carefully, you unclasped the necklace and set it into its velvet case, confused by his sudden shift in demeanor, both the absence of the necklaces magic and his sudden distance leaving you cold.
What did he see in you?
He conjured another chair for you and sank into his own, turning his attention to what appeared to be a wooden horse.
Uncertain, you sat down and pulled the necklace towards you, along with the parchment and a quill, and got to work.
The uncertainty dissolved as the minutes turned to hours, both of you working quietly side by side to solve your own puzzles. The only sounds were the rustling of papers and scratch of quills, the soft music playing from a record player in the corner, and you felt a wave of peace settle over you.
Being able to work at your own pace, in a quiet, peaceful environment was all you'd ever wanted. And finally, you felt like you found a place that allowed that.
You glanced over at Bill, finding him scribbling something with his black feather quill, completely zeroed in on his task, and you felt a rush of gratitude for him, and a determination to ensure he didn't regret his decision to take a chance on you.
You turned back to the necklace, eager to uncover it's secrets.
Tumblr media
The rest of your first two weeks passed the same way, you and Bill with your heads bowed, working on separate projects. He'd come over periodically to check your work, but mostly left you to your own devices unless you needed help, which he provided without judgement or reservation.
You and Bill seemed to work together well, both of you preferring the quiet so you could focus, with the occasional conversation about your findings during your lunch break or afternoon tea.
Despite yourself, your ill-advised attraction to him only grew as he loosened up around you. But that's all it was, you told yourself over and over again. An attraction to a handsome, accomplished man.
You were only human, after all. Who could blame you?
On Friday, Bill had a meeting with the Board and left you in his office to work. You were more than happy to occupy his space, enjoying the comfortable quiet as you reviewed your notes on the artifact you were working on.
A knock pulled you from your work. Waylan walked through the door, a long, thin wooden box in his arms.
“Oh, hey Waylan,” you said, getting up. “Bill is in a meeting—”
“I know, but this can't wait.” He dropped the long box onto the desk with a thud, scattering your meticulously organized notes, and a prickle of irritation climbed the back of your neck.
“What is it?” You asked, already sensing the dark energy permeating off of the box.
With a pry bar, Waylan cracked open the box, a putrid smell wafting out of it.
“Are you sure we should be doing this here? Surely a vault would be safer—”
“It's fine,” he snapped, and you cracked your jaw shut, irritation growing to full on anger. “This is a cursed executioners axe,” he said. “And the curse needs to be broken now.”
“Waylan, surely—”
“I thought you were qualified?” He bit. “Isn't that why you got the job? Or was it because your friends with his brothers?”
You grit your teeth. “What's the nature of the curse?”
“You tell me.”
You moved to look at the axe, it's blade dark and stained with gore, the handle black wood. Tiny notches decorated it's expanse, and your stomach turned imagining what each notch represented.
Carefully, you held your hand over it, coaxing the magic to reveal itself, but couldn't focus properly with Waylan breathing down your neck, the magic slithering through your fingers like a sieve.
Suddenly the room went dark, all the light and air sucked from the world around you until you were staring into the void, cold dread dripping down your spine.
“Waylan?” You called, fighting the urge to panic. You tried to lift your arms to feel around, but found that you couldn't move. “Waylan?!” You cried, a little louder.
Something white, a delicate, vaguely human shaped mist floated by you and you screamed, unable to move away from it. Then another appeared, slightly more formed like a person, then another, until you were surrounded by spirits. Terror split your skull, your heart pounding so hard it made your vision shake.
“No, please,” you croaked, fighting your body to move even an inch away from them. “Let me go!” You shouted, but they only moved closer. “Let me go!”
Suddenly you slammed back into your body, the bright light of the room blinding you. You were on your back, staring up at the ceiling. Bill was leaning over you, his mouth moving like he was speaking.
“—m’right here, you're alright. It was just a trick, just a little curse. Wake up, love. Come back to me,” he murmured. “There we are, that's it,” he shushed when you began to shake, his grip tightening on your shoulders when you tried to sit up.
Your body was still tingling with numbness, nerves prickling painfully back to life. “Bill,” you gasped, clinging to him as you came fully back to consciousness.
“Are you alright? Does anything hurt?” He asked, helping you sit up slowly, one hand braced on the slope of your ribcage, the other supporting your head.
“No, no. I--what happened?” you asked, looking around the room. You noticed Waylan then, also prone on the floor, eyes staring wide at the ceiling. It seemed Bill made no effort to wake him up.
Bill glanced at Waylan as well, shaking his head. “He was trying to scare you. Prove you didn't deserve the position. And apparently was too stupid to realize the curse would affect him too.”
“Will he—”
“He'll be fine. Are you okay?” He repeated, catching your eye so you'd look at him.
You nodded. “I think so.”
Waylan groaned, stirring on the carpet, and you saw a flicker of anger in Bill’s eyes.
“Wait for me in the lobby,” he said, helping you to your feet. “I'll deal with him.” There was no question in his words, and you obeyed without thought, collecting your things and slipping out of the room.
As the elevator doors started to close, you heard Bill shout, “I should have you sent to fucking Azkaban for pulling—” The groan of the machine cut off the rest of his words.
You did as you were told and waited in the lobby for Bill, busying yourself with people watching and admiring the expansive marble floors.
Twenty minutes later, Bill appeared from one of the elevators, holding Waylan by the scruff of his neck, a box of his stuff in his arms. You jumped up, alarmed when a few security guards rushed over to them.
“Waylan is no longer permitted on the premises, my orders. I discovered him tampering with curses,” Bill directed. “He's a threat to Gringott’s security.”
Your jaw dropped when the security guards nodded and dragged Waylan away without question, effectively tossing him out onto the street of Diagon Alley.
Bill stepped up beside you, concern over your frowning face drawing his brows together. “What is it?” He asked.
“Did you—you fired him?” you stammered.
“Absolutely. I can't have someone on my staff that doesn't take curses seriously. It puts us all at risk,” he said, without an ounce of hesitation.
You nodded, you supposed that made sense.
He started walking, beckoning you to follow with two fingers, and you fell into step beside him. “Come on, I'm going to teach you how to dispel that curse.”
You froze. “What?”
He turned to look at at you. “You heard me, fledgling. I need to make sure something like this won't happen again.” His voice was firm, but not unkind, and you found yourself yielding despite your trepidation. “I'll be with you the entire time, okay?” He said, a bit softer when you returned to his side.
“And if we both get knocked out?” You scowled.
He smirked at your pout. “Do you doubt me?”
A pulse of heat curled around your spine, warming your lower belly. “No, sir,” you replied, intending it to come across as teasing, but you saw something dark flash in his eyes, something hungry, and your heart began to race.
Surely you imagined it, you told yourself as the two of you descended into the vaults. There was no way you could be affecting Bill the same way he was affecting you. He was Bill Weasley, and you were just some intern that got a lucky break. He would never be interested in you, not to mention how wrong it would be for a boss to be romantically involved with his subordinate.
So, why did that thought make your pulse spike?
He guided you to a private vault, the heavy door unlocking with a wave of his hand. The inside was dank and poorly lit, permeated with that same rotten smell as before. The axe rested on a table at the center of the room, encased in glass.
You hesitated at the door, that cold, deathly sensation crawling over your skin again.
Bill paused, sensing your fear. “You can do this,” he said, offering you his hand. “I'll walk you through it.”
You placed your hand on his, focusing on his warmth, his steadiness, as he led you into the vault.
“You can feel it, right? The energy of the void clinging to it?” He asked, his voice low.
You nodded. “Feels like death,” you murmured.
“That's what this curse does, makes you feel like you died. It was used by an old Ministry executioner to subdue prisoners before their deaths. Kept them from trying to escape.” He cast his eyes to the axe, a somber look on his face. “Waylan was supposed to leave it here until after my meeting. They just unearthed it this morning.”
“That's awful,” you said, finding yourself counting the notches along the handle. There had to be at least two hundred, maybe even five hundred.
“With every kill, it got stronger, until it eventually took the executioner himself. It was buried with him, until some unfortunate muggle grave robber dug it up and nearly killed himself.”
“So, how do we dispel it?” You asked, hating the tremble in your voice.
“Take your wand out,” he instructed, and you obeyed. “I'm going to open the box. Stay focused on your breathing, the ground beneath your feet. When I open the box, you'll feel it start to pull at you, to drag you under.”
You nodded, lifting your wand and squaring your shoulders, forcing your lungs to take big, deep breaths despite the rotten smell.
“Good, when you feel it pull at you, imagine your wand is an axe itself, okay? You're going to cut the tether of the curse reaching towards you. It will resist, but I promise you can do it. Ready?”
You grit your teeth. “Ready.”
With a wave of his wand, he opened the box. The curse spilled out of it, clawing and twisted, and you immediately felt the blackness start to tug at the edge of your vision, its cold talons digging into your flesh.
“You can do it, fledgling. I know you can. Fight it,” Bill encouraged, somewhere to your left.
You pushed back against the darkness, refocusing on your breathing, the stone beneath your feet, your wand at the tips of your fingers. You slashed through the air with it, imagining an axe cutting through thick, black tendrils, and suddenly the tugging sensation vanished, the blackness receding from your vision.
“Yes, good girl! Keep going, push it all the way back into the axe.”
You did, pushing with all your might against the dark magic until it began to retreat, sinking back into the blade of the axe. But it wouldn't go all the way in, resisting your quickly depleting energy, when you felt something akin to a warm breeze blow over you: Bill’s magic. It joined your efforts, making the final push to force the curse back into the axe.
“Now hold it for me. Just like that,” Bill said, moving around the room. “I'm going to try a counter curse, but it may not take. Are you ready?”
“Ready.” You nodded, a rush of excitement pulsing through you. You were actually doing it. And doing it well.
With a flourish of wand movements and a string of words you don't understand, a beam of white light blasted from the end of Bill's wand and towards the axe, blinding you.
Something gave a godawful shriek, echoing off the walls until rubble rained over your head, and you heard a thunderous snap, followed by a whoosh of screaming air.
The light suddenly vanished, leaving you and Bill alone in the dark room, silent besides your ragged breathing.
“Lumos,” Bill muttered, and the torches along the walls relit, revealing the room around you. The axe lay on its side on the table, splintered in half. The rotten smell, and the curse, were gone. The handle was now just smooth wood, no notches in sight.
You exhaled, a giddy laugh bubbling up, and Bill smiled, crossing the room to you.
“Let me see you, you alright?” He asked, taking your hands to inspect your trembling fingers. The touch sent a zing of energy under your skin. “It didn't hurt you?”
You shook your head, dizzy from his unexpected tenderness and the after effects of using so much magic. “I'm okay,” you murmured, a little breathless.
“Okay,” he said, releasing your hands, though for a second, he seemed reluctant to. “I'll clean up here. Go home and get some rest, yeah?”
“Yes, sir,” you said, dipping your chin obediently.
His eyes searched your face for a moment longer, his jaw flexing, before he nodded once and turned back to the axe, dismissing you.
You slipped out of the vault and returned to the surface, reckless hope burning in your chest.

Tumblr media
Summary: twins hear some nasty rumours about you, and don't like people talk like that about their favourite Hufflepuff.
Other: hurt/angst? I mean, group of students are gossiping about your relationship with twins in a nasty way... its mostly about twins reactions and their wave of protectiveness towards you.
Tumblr media
The corridors of Hogwarts bustled with the usual energy, as Fred and George Weasley strolled through the hall, joking about their next prank. Their conversation slowly faded as they neared a group of Hufflepuff girls chattering animatedly just ahead.
They weren’t ones to eavesdrop, not random students, because their topics were usually just too boring. Still, when your name slipped into the conversation, both twins fell silent, instinctively tuning in. It wasn’t like they could help it when it was you they were talking about.
"…Right! And Ernie asked me to the ball yesterday, so I’m going too!" a blonde girl said excitedly, her voice carrying through the hall.
"Good for you, girlie!" her friend, a brunette, chimed in, clapping her on the shoulder. But then her tone shifted, quieter now. "And on the topic… Do you know if anybody asked (Y/N) to the ball yet?"
Fred and George slowed their pace, glancing at each other with smirks. Did somebody ask their favorite Hufflepuff yet? You didn't tell them anything, and if they will know thanks to gossip... Well, they will use it to tease you, for sure. That's why they stopped their walk, pretending to be interested in something else, while listening to conversation.
"I talked with that girl who is close to her, and I know that nope! And isn’t it kinda sad that nobody’s asked her to the ball yet?" another girl snickered.
"Yeah," the blonde one agreed, her voice softer but tinged with clear jealousy. "Especially since she’s always seen with the Weasley twins and Lee Jordan. I figured she’d be the first to have a date. She's close with them, after all."
"Exactly," the brunette chimed in, her eyes wide with faux innocence. "I mean, if she’s so close to the twins, how come neither of them wants to take her? I heard some Ravenclaw's talking that it's probably she’s… you know… giving it up to both of them, but they still don't want her, and thus she still can’t even get a proper date."
Weasley twins blinked in unison, too surprised to do more than that. That's... not what they were expecting to hear.
Fred woke up first and felt a wave of disgust wash over him, his hands balling into fists. George’s jaw clenched beside him, the tension building between them as they forced themselves to stay silent and listen.
"Yeah, like, that’s just pathetic," the blonde said, her voice turning mocking. "She’s hanging around them all the time, probably hooking up with both of them, and yet here she is, still dateless. That’s… well, kind of sad, don’t you think?"
A chorus of giggles followed, the sound hitting Fred and George like a slap in the face. The idea that anyone could think that they are spending time with you only for your body... That you were only their plaything, while that couldn't be more far from the truth. The fact that people believed it was happening and were laughing at you for it—made their blood boil.
"She’s probably desperate," one of the girls added, her tone casual but venomous, and that was the last thing twins' heard as the girls started walking away and their giggles finally faded into the distance. With that, the twins also resumed walking, not a world exchange between them, just cold silence. Neither of them spoke for a few moments, their minds racing with anger and guilt. You were their friend—someone they cared about deeply, and hearing people spread lies and cruel rumors about you left a bitter taste in their mouths.
"You think she’s heard any of this?" George asked quietly, his voice tinged with concern.
Fred’s frown deepened. "If she has, she hasn’t said a word. But Merlin, if she knew what they were saying…"
They both knew how kind and loyal you were—always trying to avoid conflict, always looking out for others. You weren’t the type to confront people, not unless it was absolutely necessary. You’d rather keep your head down, maybe even shrug off the rumors with a weak smile, even if they were cutting you deep inside. The thought of you, bashful and kind as always, hearing something like this made Fred’s stomach twist in knots.
"She doesn’t deserve this," George muttered, shaking his head.
Fred’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of determination sparking behind them. "We’ve got to do something. She shouldn’t have to deal with this rubbish."
George smirked slightly, though there was no humor in it. "Something big. Make sure everyone knows the truth without making her feel embarrassed about it."
Fred nodded, already hatching a plan in his mind. "Subtle enough that she won’t notice what we’re up to. But obvious enough that no one will ever believe those lies again."
They continued down the hall, their thoughts already racing ahead to what needed to be done. This wasn’t just about protecting you from gossip—this was about reminding everyone that you were worth far more than the cruel words of a few petty girls. That you were more than your body. You were loyal, hardworking, and kind, and anyone who thought less of you clearly didn’t know you at all.
"By the time we’re done," Fred said, a glint of mischief finally returning to his eyes, "she’ll have half of Hogwarts wishing they were her date to the ball."
George grinned, feeling the tension between them ease as they began to plot. "And we’ll make sure everyone knows she’s not someone to mess with."
Silently, they decided that you now, along with Ginny, are under his protection: who will do wrong to you, will do wrong to them, and thus, punishment will be given. They knew you could handle yourself, but why let you do that, when they could do it themselves, and spare you dealing with rubbish people? The twins walked off with renewed purpose, ready to set their plans in motion.

Could you write one for Fred where she's a Malfoy and is the first time that Fred takes her to the burrow?
Helloo, thanks for the request. I hope you like it ~ ♡
Tumblr media
She's My Malfoy .。*・゚゚
Summary: Being a Malfoy meant living under constant scrutiny. Your family’s legacy was built on wealth, power, and an unwavering belief in blood purity—beliefs you had never shared. But no matter how much you distanced yourself, people still saw Malfoy before they saw you. That included the Weasleys, who had every reason to despise your name. Now, for the first time, Fred was bringing you to the Burrow, hoping his family would see what he did: that you were nothing like them.
fred weasley x f!reader
Tumblr media
Fred was a lot of things. A troublemaker, a prankster, a complete menace to authority. But most of all, he was fearless.
That’s why you were so surprised to see him hesitating at the front door of the Burrow.
“Fred?” you asked softly, squeezing his hand.
He startled and grinned at you—his usual charming, easy grin that made your heart race. But this time, it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Sorry, love. Just thinking about how Mum might actually murder me tonight.”
You raised an eyebrow. “You mean us?”
“No, no, just me,” he assured. “You’re too pretty to kill. I, on the other hand, am about to get a one-way ticket to the afterlife.”
You rolled your eyes but felt the weight behind his words.
Fred had fought for you every step of the way. From the moment you started dating, he made it clear that your last name didn’t matter to him. But the rest of the world—including his family—wasn’t so forgiving.
He had told them you were coming, of course. And the silence that followed had been deafening.
Now, standing in front of the crooked, charming house that was so unlike Malfoy Manor, you felt something rare: nerves.
Fred must have sensed it, because he lifted your intertwined hands and kissed the back of yours. “For the record, I’d choose you over them. Any day. Every time.”
Your chest tightened, and before you could overthink it, you leaned in and kissed him.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that,” you whispered.
The moment the door opened, you knew this wasn’t going to be easy.
You had met Ron and Ginny at school, and while they weren’t exactly friendly, they hadn’t been outright hostile either. But stepping into the Burrow was different.
It was like walking into enemy territory.
Mrs. Weasley, who had been setting the table, stopped when she saw you. Mr. Weasley, who had been reading the Daily Prophet, slowly lowered the paper. The tension in the room was suffocating.
“Well,” Mrs. Weasley said finally, forcing a polite smile. “You must be Y/N.”
You nodded. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Weasley.”
Fred’s grip on your hand tightened.
Ginny, sitting at the table, crossed her arms. “So, what’s it like in Malfoy Manor? Do you guys have dungeons for the Muggle-borns, or do you just hex them at dinner?”
“Ginny,” Mr. Weasley scolded.
But you didn’t flinch. You had expected this.
“I wouldn’t know,” you said evenly. “I left as soon as I could.”
Ron, who had been watching you closely, frowned. “Yeah? And your family just let you?”
You hesitated for half a second, but Fred jumped in.
“She didn’t exactly get a warm send-off, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Mrs. Weasley’s expression softened, but only slightly.
“Well,” she said, clearing her throat, “you’re here now. Come sit.”
Tumblr media
Dinner was... tense.
Conversations stalled when you tried to join in. The twins—normally the most talkative—seemed quieter than usual. Even Fred, who had been his usual carefree self earlier, was unusually serious.
The moment you stood to help with the dishes, Mrs. Weasley waved you off.
“That’s not necessary, dear.”
You hesitated. “I don’t mind.”
She smiled tightly. “I said it’s not necessary.”
It was a small thing, but it felt like a warning. You were a guest. An outsider. No matter how much Fred loved you, you weren’t one of them.
Fred sighed beside you, rubbing a hand over his face. “Alright, enough of this,” he said abruptly. “Can we just talk about it?”
Silence.
Then George leaned back in his chair. “Talk about what, exactly?”
Fred scoffed. “Oh, I don’t know, Georgie. Maybe the fact that everyone here is treating my girlfriend like she personally kicked a puppy?”
“She’s a Malfoy, Fred,” Ginny snapped.
“And so what?” he shot back. “She didn’t pick her family, same way we didn’t pick ours.”
Ron crossed his arms. “It’s not just about the name, mate. It’s about what that family’s done. What her family has done.”
That was it. You had been silent long enough.
“I’m not my family,” you said sharply. “I don’t believe in their cause. I don’t support them. And I sure as hell don’t owe them anything.”
Ginny scoffed. “Easy to say when you grew up with everything.”
Your blood boiled. “You think money made that house any less of a prison? You think I ever felt safe there?” Your voice wavered, but you pushed through. “My father saw me as nothing more than a political tool. And Draco—” You swallowed hard. “Draco still thinks he can fix me.”
The table was deathly silent.
“I walked away from all of it,” you finished, voice quieter now. “And I didn’t do it because it was easy. I did it because it was right.”
Fred reached for your hand under the table, and you let out a slow breath.
Finally, Mrs. Weasley spoke.
“We’re just... protective of our own.”
“I get that,” you said softly. “But I’d never hurt Fred. I’d never hurt any of you.”
Another long pause.
Then, Mr. Weasley gave you a small nod.
Ron and Ginny didn’t say anything, but they weren’t glaring anymore.
And when dessert was served, you swore you saw Mrs. Weasley add an extra slice of treacle tart on your plate.
Fred leaned in and whispered, “That’s a good sign.”
You exhaled, squeezing his hand.
Maybe, just maybe, you were one step closer to belonging.

Marvel’s Real Name
Now, you know how Freddy’s called Junior? Yeah, let’s take that a little bit further.
Billy and Freddy are bickering in one of the computer rooms of the Watchtower. Of course, they’re in their Marvel forms. Batman’s on one of the nearby computers.
Marvel and Junior: *whisper yelling at each other about god knows what*
Marvel: *louder* “Oh my gods! Freddy shut u-” *cuts himself off with an ‘I fucked up’ face*
Junior: *appalled*
Marvel and Junior: *slowly look over to Batman*
Batman: *staring right at them because he had originally turned around to tell them to quiet down since they were getting louder*
Marvel and Junior: *share a look and walk out of the room and to the zetas in complete silence*
Batman: *immediately pulls up both Marvel and Junior’s files because now he actually has a name for a face, or rather maybe faces?*
Back in Fawcett…
Freddy and Billy: *Both detransformed and now on a bench*
Freddy: “Dude, what is the matter with you?!” *shaking Billy by the shoulders*
Billy: “I said I was sorry!”
Freddy: “Sorry doesn’t cut it! You can’t just name drop me in front of Batman of all people!”
Billy: “I’m sorry!” *says more desperately this time* *still being shaken by Freddy* “Maybe he won’t find out!”
Freddy: “Of course he’ll find out! He’s Batman!”
Freddy then proceeded to continue to shaking Billy until the Batson vomited on the sidewalk after getting too dizzy.
The next day…
Marvel: *doing a jigsaw puzzle in the same rec room as yesterday sitting crisscross applesauce on the floor*
Hal Jordan: *walked into rec room to watch tv. He sees Marvel* “Hey, Fred.”
Marvel: *doesn’t respond, still hyper focused on his puzzle*
Hal Jordan: “Cap? Buddy?” *leans on Marvel, looking at the puzzle*
Marvel: “Yeah?” *looks away from puzzle to Hal*
Hal Jordan: “Huh.”
Marvel: “Huh what?”
Hal Jordan: “You’re good at the whole not responding to your name thing.”
Marvel: “Huh??? What’re you talking about?”
Hal Jordan: “Well, I heard through the grapevine, aka Spooky told Supes, Flash overheard, he told Hawkgirl, she told John, and he told me.”
Marvel: “Oh…!” *now scared cause he thinks they know his name now*
Hal Jordan: “And now that I think about it, your name honestly suits you. You look like a Freddy.”
Marvel: *now dumbfounded* “What? My name isn’t Freddy.”
Hal Jordan: “Uh yeah it is dude. If Junior is a junior, you’re senior. Freddy Senior.”
After that, Marvel just let them call him Fred, and Junior Freddy. He never corrected them which made them assume they were correct, but they didn’t know that Billy was just going with the flow.
Like a week later…
Billy and Freddy: *eating some sandwiches on the curb as their normal forms*
Freddy: “By the way, dude. You totally bogarted my name.”
Billy: “What? No I didn’t. They just assumed it was mine and I just went with it.” *takes another bite of his sandwich*
Freddy: “Still bogarting, bro.”
Billy: “Would you rather they know my name is Billy?”
Freddy: *takes another bite of his sandwich and talks while chewing* “No.”
Billy: “Then zip it, lock it and put it in your pocket, man.”
Freddy: *uses good leg to kick Billy in the shin*
Billy: “Ow!” *rubs the shin that got hit* “What was that for??”
Freddy: “That was me politely telling you to not use the kindergarten way of telling me to shut up.”

picture you | f.w.
in which, you accidentally say fred’s name whilst kissing your boyfriend…
you had been dating your boyfriend for six months. he was a sweet and kind boy and boys like that were hard to find. at least that’s what you kept having to remind yourself.
to be honest, you only dated at him at first because your best friend, fred weasley, had gotten a girlfriend and neglected you. your boyfriend had always had a crush on you, so feeling somewhat lonely, you gave him a chance. fred and his girlfriend had only lasted a few months but even when he was finally single and available to spend more time with you again, you decided to show him exactly how it felt.
boys your age weren’t usually as respectful as your boyfriend was; it was something you’d admired at first. but as the months went by and he still hadn’t tried to make any advancements, you were growing extremely frustrated. sexually frustrated.
one night, after hours in the library, between studying you attempted to take matters into your own hands. you couldn’t focus at all on the book in front of you. there was only one thing on you mind. you gently placed your hand on his thigh. it was subtle, simply testing the waters.
he laughed nervously, asking “what are you doing?”
the rejection simmered through you. tears pricked your eyes yet you held them in, faking a smile so that he thought everything was fine. you knew in that moment that there really was no hope.
your boyfriend, clearly noticing a shift in your energy, cupped your face with his hands, planting a gentle kiss on your lips. but gentle wasn’t what you wanted.
after scanning the room to make sure no one had come in without you realising, you pulled him closer to you, giving him a kiss back. the kiss was not gentle like his, instead it was filled with desperation for more. your tongue slipped inside his mouth, instantly meeting his. the kiss started awkwardly, due to the contrast of your desire for a fast pace and his soft nature. although he was shocked, it didn’t take long for him to match your speed, the kiss becoming messy.
you had never kissed your boyfriend like that. and in your mind, you weren’t even kissing him like that now. in your mind, it was fred weasley who you were kissing.
you knew it was wrong. but that didn’t stop you.
it was always fred. whenever you were alone, doing things you’d never admit out loud, it was fred who was on your mind.
yes, he had only ever been your best friend but that was because you settled for that position since he never appeared to share the same feelings that you had for him. even though it frustrated you so intensely, your mind always seemed to betray you by making you unable to feel turned on by absolutely anyone except him.
so perhaps that was why you whispered fred’s name into your boyfriends ear when he slipped his hand up your thigh.
“what did you just say?” your boyfriend asked, confused.
“i just said yeah.”
“no, you didn’t.”
“well, what do you think i said?”
“you said fred. who’s fred?”
fuck.
you stood up, packing up your books into your bag, feeling your cheeks growing red.
“fred weasley?” he asked.
you shook your head and sped away, straight to the gryffindor common room. your boyfriend followed behind you, calling out your name. you couldn’t face him. nothing you could think of to say would make the situation any better.
back in the common room, the first person you noticed was fred. he was sat with some other gryffindor quidditch team members, all laughing at something he’d said. fred noticed you the moment you entered and flashed you a small smile. one you felt too guilty to return. you hastily passed him and all his friends, trying to maintain a cool and collected image of yourself though inside you felt as if you could cry. you felt fred’s eyes linger on you as you walked by.
“y/n!” your boyfriend called out across the whole common room.
you froze. all eyes in the room darted between you and him.
“oh, fred weasley, great, there you are!” your boyfriend exclaimed, upon realising he was there.
fred’s friends exchanged mischievous glances, clearly anticipating some trouble ahead.
fred raised an eyebrow, curiously. “you alright mate?”
“would you care to explain to me why my girlfriend just called me your name?”
you couldn’t believe what was happening.
the boys around fred all let out some laughs. fred, on the other hand, looked nothing less than dumbfounded. he glanced over to you, squinting a little as if trying to assess what was really going on here. he was trying to read on your face if it was really true.
“i didn’t!” you protested, “i told you, that’s not what I said.”
“i heard it as clear as day, so come on, let’s get to the bottom of this,” your boyfriend countered.
this was so out of character for him to be confrontational.
“so you’re saying she just randomly said my name, yeah?” fred asked.
“when i was kissing her.”
the boys around fred all let out an “ooo”, teasing fred. this only made your boyfriend even more furious.
beads of sweat were forming on your forehead. you didn’t even realise that you were running until you found yourself in the bathrooms, looking at your crimson cheeks and watery eyes in the mirror. still looking in the mirror, you clocked fred coming up behind you.
“please, go away,” you pleaded.
he didn’t go anywhere, only moved closer to you.
you covered your face with your hands, but he took them in his and moved them down to your side. now he could look in your eyes.
“if it makes you feel any better,” he whispered, “i picture you, too.”
“what?”
“you know what i mean.”
he winked, cheekily, and you couldn’t help but let out a small smile because of it.
“you don’t have to lie,” you told him, turning away.
“why would i lie?”
“to make me feel less awkward? i don’t know.”
“if i just wanted to make you feel less awkward i’d probably have just pulled a little prank to lighten the mood a bit,” he confessed.
you knew it was true. that was fred all right.
“so what then?” you questioned.
“so you need to leave that pathetic boyfriend of yours.”
you gasped at the brutal honesty in his response.
“he’s clearly not giving you what you truly what if you have to keep thinking about me when he’s kissing you,” fred shrugged.
“that’s not just going to magically stop me thinking about kissing you.”
the words almost didn’t feel like yours. they were too bold for you. but they’d slipped straight out.
with no hesitation, fred grabbed your face in his big, warm hands, pulling it towards his own so that his lips could meet yours. your tongues instantly met, clashing against each other with speed. he slipped his hand around your waist, leaning you against the sink and pressing his body against you.
being so close to a boy like this was new to you, but because of all the times you’d experienced it in your head, with him, it felt so familiar.
“am i living up to the me that exists only in your imagination?” he whispered in your ear.
the whisper gave you goosebumps. you nodded, before quickly rejoining your lips with his.

Jealous Nott
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/n is being hit on by Fred and George and it gets Theodore pissed, ~and jealous.
He was sure why he was fuming. You were on the other side of the room getting hit on by the comedic duo, usually he liked them. They were funny as hell but right now as they made you laugh he wanted to shove their jokes up their asses.
"Teds, ya steaming at the ear mate," Matteo remarked, he had never seen Theodore so worked up over someone. He followed his line of sight and burst out laughing, making Theodore send him a glare. "Bloody hell, over y/n"
"They're hitting on her, is she gonna fuck the both of them," His eyes were were boring holed at the twins. His jaw clenched when he noticed how close they'd gotten to her.
"She's a free bird y'know unless you go get her cause Fred's pulling his signature pick up, with the ring-" Theo was already out of his seat. In quick strides he crossed the room, he snaked his hand around her.
Due to the height difference he bent down and put his neck into the crook of her neck.
"Hey boys, why don't you go blow up a bath yeah?" Fred and George both raised their hands in mock surrender, they knew a lost battle when they saw one.
"Got it," George started
"We reckon we can get a couple out," Fred finished as he winked at y/n. "If you ever get tired of this Joker y'know where to find us," before they both left leaving y/n with Theo.
"What are you doing, I was about to get laid," y/n joked.
"Were you gonna fuck the both of em!?"
"Maybe," she smirked. "I do have two holes,"
Theodore's eye brows rose. "Interesting,"
"Theo I'm wanking, what's up?" He noticed how she leant into him.
"I-" he hadn't thought about what he was gonna do once he drove those Weasley boys out. "Well I-"
"Do not tell me the great snarky sarcastic, Theodore Graham Nott, has gone speechless?" He noticed how her eyes glittered as she smiled. The stars were in her eyes.
"It's not Graham luv," He chided.
"I said it's Graham so it's Graham," She said leaving no room for argument.
"Yes Ma'am," Deep down he knew if she asked him to change his name, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
"You're hot when you're jealous," Theodore nearly missed the sentence.
"One, I'm not jealous. Two." He said bringing her closer. "You think I'm hot?" He mumbles into her neck.
"I've always thought you're hot," she whispered back. He chuckled into her neck sending shivers up her spine. She traced his bicep through his uniform.
"Really," Her lips looked so kissable.
"Yeah"
"I want to kiss you so badly luv,"
"Then do it you wanker,"
Theodore crashed his lips to hers, trying to memorize every curve of her mouth, his hand moved from her waist to her hips then back again. He fought the urge to grab her ass.
After a beat he moved his head back an inch.
"You'll be the fucking death of me," he whispered agsinst her lips dropping the lightest kisses on her face from her cheeks to her forehead.
"I should say the same about you, I could fucking feel your cigarettes," he laughed. He loved the girl and he was going to fucking keep her

breaching sunlight / f. g. weasley
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you could always count on fred to be like sunlight in your life. even when hogwarts seemed to be eternally overcast by a certain pink devil. warnings: not proofread. no use of y/n. 2k words. inspired by that one scene where fred and george are being super cute and console a younger student.
Tumblr media
“What’s your name?”
Was the first thing you heard once you escaped Umbridge's office.
It was a quiet whisper. Not directed at you, but to someone else entirely down the corridor.
You didn’t dare show your face yet. Not with your cheeks still damp and blotchy, your eyes puffy and your nose red from crying. Tears you’d held back until you were well out of her line of sight.
“Michael,” came a much smaller voice in reply. A boy — younger, no older than a second year by the sound of it.
“It’s going to be alright,” said another voice. Older and steady. George.
“Yeah,” came Fred’s voice next. “It’s not as bad as it seems. See? Ours are already fading.”
You stood hidden behind the wide stone column, one hand clutched tightly over your chest as you tried to regulate your breathing. You couldn’t let them see you like this. You knew they were waiting for you.
You heard Michael sniffle again — a tiny, wet sound. It cut through you like a knife. It made you want to punch that awful toad in the throat. It made you want to hug the little boy, tell him he did nothing wrong.
“The pain stops after a while,” said George.
Michael sniffed again. “Does… does it always hurt that much?”
There was a pause.
You leaned closer to the stone.
Fred answered. Softer this time. “First time’s the worst.”
With a deep breath, you decided to reveal yourself. You inhaled deeply, before exhaling. You wiped your tears off your face and put on a smile before stepping out.
The sound of your shoes against the rock floor, made their heads snap up at you. You just smiled and raised your arm, showing them your newly acquired scars.
Fred stood up, quietly meeting you halfway, whilst George stayed crouched next to Michael.
“Do you think you’ll be able to sneak in a proper bomb in her tea without her noticing?” you asked, trying your best to sound humorous.
“I’ll see what we can do about that,” he said as he ever so gently grabbed your arms to inspect it. You felt his eyes trace over the words carved into your skin.
I must not be a brat.
You felt the way his grip briefly tightened around you before loosening again.
You stared at George and offered him a small smile along with a wave of your left hand — the one left unoccupied by Fred.
He and Michael both waved back.
“You alright love?” George asked.
You just nodded, but a quiet sniffle made it past. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Fred didn’t press you on that — just gave your arm one last careful squeeze before letting go. He tilted his head slightly, eyes scanning your face with that unreadable expression he wore when he was trying to make sense of something he didn’t like.
You just smiled, a tight lipped smile, up at him.
He got the message. Even though he didn’t like it one bit. There was nothing he could do, not without a visit to the toad’s office of his own. Instead, he just placed his hand on your lower back and gently led you to the others.
You settled on the cold stone bench beside the others, the only sound echoing through the corridor being George’s encouraging words to the younger boy.
It made your stomach turn. Just a few months prior, these same corridors would have been buzzing with energy. Even Peeves seemed to not be in the mood for anything anymore.
“What’d she get you in for?” Fred asked, breaking the silence as he stood beside you.
You exhaled slowly through your nose, the smile on your face faltering.
“I snapped,” you murmured, eyes fixed on the floor. “She said the Ministry’s wasting money funding the permanent care ward at St. Mungo’s.”
That seemed to get George’s attention as well.
“She said it right in front of Neville too,” you went on, voice taut and low.”
You paused, knuckles white where your hands were clasped tightly in your lap.
“And when I told her she was wrong,” you added, jaw tightening, “she called me a brat. An attention seeker. Said I was just trying to cause trouble.”
Everyone remained quiet for a moment, and you felt tears spilling over your eyes once again. You stood up sharply, anger flooding through your veins. Your head replayed the scenario, going over every other possible wretched and horrible thing you could’ve said to her.
You faced the opposite wall, your body shaking with anger as you tried blinking the tears away.
“Merlin, that woman… she deserves Azkaban,” you mumbled, your voice breaking slightly as you bit your nails.
Fred was quiet behind you.
You didn’t turn to look at him — couldn’t — not with your eyes glassy and your hands trembling like that. The silence stretched out, thick and heavy, until the only sound was the soft scratch of your nail against your teeth and Michael’s sniffles a few feet away.
You flinched when you felt the faintest brush of fingers against your sleeve. His hand slipped down slowly until it found yours.
Your fingers had been at your mouth again, nails raw where you’d been chewing without thinking. But Fred’s fingers gently curled around yours, coaxing your hand down. He didn’t say a word, just held it quietly.
“Hey,” he murmured.
You didn’t turn.
He didn’t ask you to.
For a long second, you stood there, you facing the wall, him just barely close enough to feel the warmth of his arm against yours. His thumb moved once, brushing over your knuckles, careful not to go over the freshly carved scars. Though they seemed intent on doing so, you could feel his gaze wandering lower —taking them in. Wanting to brush his thumb over them to make sure you were okay.
Then, barely above a whisper, he spoke again.
“How long were you standing back there?”
You swallowed hard, the lump in your throat thick and unmoving. You shook your head a little, still not looking at him.
“I’m fine,” you said again, soft and too hollow to sound true.
Fred didn’t challenge it.
He just held your hand a little tighter.
After a moment, you turned your head just slightly, your eyes fixed somewhere far off down the corridor.
“How’d you know?”
His voice was low. Gentle. “I didn’t.”
You knew in true Fred fashion, a smirk was trying to make its way past his lips like it always did when he outsmarted you in some way. Though he held off for your sake and this particular situation. That didn’t stop  you from throwing a small glare his way, one that didn’t hold much power, because the simple sight of him looking at you with those pleading eyes disarmed you.
“I didn’t know for sure,” he clarified, voice quiet. “Just though I heard you.”
Crying. He didn't say it, but you knew that's what he meant.
You huffed a breath — half a laugh, half a sigh.
“I waited,” he added, softer still. “Just in case you wanted to come out when you were ready.”
Your grip tightened slightly around his fingers.
Fred nodded, once, just enough to let you know he understood.
Then he leaned back a little, shoulder resting against the stone wall beside you, still holding your hand. His thumb moved again, slow and thoughtful.
Neither of you said anything for a while.
“I’d say she deserves being trampled by Buckbeak,” George said, breaking the silence. “Wouldn’t you?”
A chuckle escaped your throat as you turned around to face him. “Or eaten by Thestrals.”
“Maybe the mermaids in the Black Lake would be interested in taking her for a swim,” Fred added, which made Michael laugh for the first time since you'd met him.
You let yourself breathe. One beat. Then another. The tension started to ease, just slightly, from your shoulders.
Fred glanced at you again, just for a second. And then he bumped your shoulder, gentle and deliberate.
You laughed softly once again and just tilted your head a little closer toward him — not quite leaning, but not quite not — and let that count for something.
George was still keeping Michael distracted with his increasingly ridiculous suggestions for Umbridge’s demise, when a sharp ahem echoed down the corridor.
Everything went still.
You didn’t have to see her to know.
You just knew.
The air felt heavier, colder, and yet somehow cloying, like you’d stepped into a cloud of cheap perfume.
You turned your head slowly — just in time to see Dolores Umbridge standing at the end of the hall. Her eyes scanned over the group like she was surveying insects beneath her shoe.
She cleared her throat again. Louder this time. Demanding attention.
You immediately stood straighter and moved.
Your steps carried you to Michael without thought. You planted yourself in front of him, shielding him from her sight with your body. You didn’t speak, didn’t glare, just stood there.
Fred and George flanked you without needing to be asked.
“Well,” Umbridge finally said, smiling so sweetly it made your stomach churn, “it seems I have stumbled upon a little gathering.”
No one answered.
Her smile never wavered.
“Naughty children,” she said softly, voice feather-light and utterly revolting, “must be disciplined. It's the only way they ever learn, after all.”
Still, you said nothing.
Umbridge's eyes fell on you for a moment longer than the others — almost like she was expecting you to speak up again. To bite back.
But you didn’t.
Finally, with a satisfied little hum, she folded her hands in front of her robes and said, “I believe it's nearly curfew. Best you all run along to your respective dormitories… before any of you make another unfortunate choice.”
She turned with a flounce, disappearing down the hall, the echo of her heels lingering long after she was gone.
“You know George,” Fred spoke up after a second. “I’ve always felt our futures lay outside the world of academic achievement.”
George chuckled, his gaze still pinned on where Umbridge had been standing moments before. “Fred, I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing.”
Tumblr media
The days that followed felt like wading through mud — slow, heavy, and utterly exhausting. With Umbridge’s suffocating presence blanketing the school, it was as if every student at Hogwarts carried their own personal dementor, draining the life out of them bit by bit. Even the professors weren’t immune to the gloom. McGonagall, normally rigid and unsparing, had begun turning a blind eye to late assignments and overlooked detentions.
Umbridge was everywhere.
Or at least, it felt that way.
To escape the depressive atmosphere, you buried yourself in your OWL preparations. Every free moment was spent studying, revising, memorizing, anything to keep your mind from wandering. If you filled every hour, every breath, with work, then there would be no room left to think about how miserable everything truly was. The goal was simple: be too exhausted by the end of the day to feel anything else.
And you managed it. So well, in fact, that you barely noticed the twins slipping away more often than usual. You didn’t catch the way they whispered in corners or exchanged glances across the common room.
Then came the exams. And that was when everything finally boiled over.
The Great Hall had been transformed: desks arranged in long, even rows, spaced precisely beneath the enchanted ceiling, which mirrored the leaden skies above. The air was thick with tension. Quills scratched across parchment like hissing whispers. The only other sounds were the rustle of paper and the relentless ticking of the large brass clock at the head of the room.
Umbridge stood at the front like a bad omen, arms crossed tightly beneath her horrid pink cardigan. Her ridiculous bow sat perched on her head like a ribbon slapped on spoiled meat. She paced back and forth, her heels clicking sharply across the stone floor, each step as grating as her presence.
You were halfway through a particularly difficult theoretical question when a loud, thunderous explosion rang from outside the Great Hall’s enormous doors.
Heads shot up.
Then another sound. Another explosion.
The hall was filled with murmurs then. Quills loosely hanging between unsure fingers.
Umbridge stiffened as she crossed the hall towards the great doors. Her heels echoing on her trail.
Another bang. Then a sizzle. Then what sounded unmistakably like cheering from somewhere beyond the doors.
Then, the doors slammed open with a thunderous bang that echoed off the high stone walls.
And in they came.
Fred and George Weasley — streaking through the air on broomsticks, red and gold fireworks trailing behind them like comets.
The hall erupted.
Fireworks shot in every direction — serpentine rockets looping and spiraling across the high enchanted ceiling. You ducked instinctively as a firework zoomed overhead, shaped like a Chinese Fireball. It exploded midair in a flash, releasing a burst of glittering red sparks.
Fred flew low between the rows of desks, scattering parchment and ink bottles in his wake. George followed, pulling a string of enchanted fireworks from his satchel and tossing them high into the air. They exploded in a synchronized display.
Once you looked up, you caught Fred’s gaze —and he winked along with that stupid, crooked smile of his that made your stomach flutter.
You laughed.
It bubbled out of you so suddenly, so violently, that your stomach hurt.
It felt so good. You could not remember the last time you had laughed like that. Was it perhaps last summer? Had Hogwarts even heard your laugh this year? You did not remember, and to be frank, you didn’t care. Not right now at least.
Everyone poured out into the corridor, laughter and shouts reverberating off the stone.
Out into the courtyard they flew.
You pushed your way through the crowd, breathless and smiling as the doors swung wide and the cold spring air rushed in.
Students had flooded the courtyard, some cheering until they lost their voices, others just staring up in open-mouthed wonder. You stood near the front of the crowd, craning your neck to see them — laughing so hard your cheeks ached. It felt like breathing after being held underwater for too long.
Even the professors who had come outside — Flitwick, Sprout, and even McGonagall — wore expressions that ranged from begrudging amusement to thinly veiled satisfaction. She didn’t smile, not really, but there was a certain tightness at the corner of her lips as she watched the twins circle around once more.
Umbridge stood red-faced at the entrance, screaming orders no one could hear over the noise, arms flailing in utter futility.
And just like that, with one final swoop — a blaze of gold behind them and a long ribbon of smoke trailing in the sky — they were gone.
The crowd was still clapping and shouting by the time you were herded back into the castle. Professors were firm but unbothered. There was nothing more Umbridge could do without losing what little control she had left.
Still, even being ushered back into classes couldn’t quite smother the fire they’d lit.
Tumblr media
By the end of the day, your voice was hoarse from laughing.
You walked arm in arm with two of your friends, the three of you still giggling over the look on Umbridge’s face. The mood in the common room had been practically electric all day.
After dinner, you finally made your way up to the dormitory, a pleasant ache in your muscles and warmth still lingering in your cheeks.
You weren’t expecting anything when you pulled the curtains back from your bed.
But there it was. Nestled on your pillow.
A letter.
Plain parchment. No name on the outside. Just folded once, neatly. You recognized the handwriting immediately.
Fred’s.
You sat slowly on the edge of the bed, the voices of your friends fading behind you as they chatted near the wardrobe. You turned the letter over once, then opened it.
Inside, written in that unmistakably messy, slanted script:
Thought you might want a bit of quiet tonight.
(Also figured a flying exit would score me some rep points. Did it work?)
You were the first face I looked for. You always are.
Hope you laughed today. Hope you remember how to keep doing it.
It’ll be a bloody shame not to hear that laugh every day.  I’m rather fond of it.
See you soon. Can’t wait to show you what we’re working on.
Don’t miss me too much.
— Fred
You read it twice. Then again. You didn’t even realize you were smiling until your friend asked what was on the parchment and you shook your head, folding it carefully and slipping it under your pillow.
For the first time in weeks, sleep came easily.
