So what’s Youngster Glynda and Oz’s relationship like? They crushin on the other or?

Oooh, i actually get to talk about Glynda!! Yeeyeye!! So Glynda is actually15 and Ozpin is 14, but Glynda treats the one-year age gap as being bigger than it actually is and deems herself the older and far wiser individual in the group (which is pretty much true, all things considered). 

She’s like a bossy older sibling at first to Ozpin, Qrow, and even Raven at times (which of course means she doesn’t really get along very well with the group) and she wants things to be just so.

The only reason the others decide to keep following her lead is because, much as they hate to admit it, she IS the most knowledgeable and skilled amongst them, and her Semblance is nothing to sneeze at. The Goodwitch family has always been notable in those regards, and they’re VERY well known due to their wealth and success in Vale. Their family served the great Kings and Queens of Vale for a very, very long time, and in a matter of fact, it was Glynda’s grandfather who Ozymandias entrusted Beacon to once it was built. So the Goodwitches are very, very prominent figures, and Glynda has trained her whole life to serve King Ozymandias for whenever he reincarnates (note: only she, her Grandfather, and a select few other Goodwitches were entrusted with the secret of Ozymandias’s reincarnation situation)

So, considering all of this, Glynda’s still slightly unsure how to go about the “Great King/Ancient Spirit I’m supposed to protect is a lil 14 year old kid who’s annoying as all hell and runs around causing chaos like a feral racoon” dealio.

Glynda is trying VERY hard to keep things from falling apart around them and keeping people from knowing that Beacon is secretly being run by a teenager in goofy glasses, and Ozpin is seemingly constantly wanting to go against all of her plans.

It takes a little while for Glynda to warm up to him and realize that Ozpin isn’t as stupid as he looks, and that all of his oddball behavior tends to track and work out if she waits long enough for it to explain itself (turns out, Oz has always been a cryptic little shit who likes to play things close to the chest and keep people in the dark *insert annoyed sigh from Glynda*)

Only when she starts to recognize him as an equal and stops seeing him as an idiot lil kid does her relationship with him start to grow.

They’re actually just close friends for a pretty long time. Glynda doesn’t start getting any kind of feelings for him until they’re in their later teens, and by then there’s the worry of the merge and whether or not he’s even going to be the same person anymore.

And Ozpin of course fears this, too. After all, the merging situation is one of the reasons why Ozymandias wanted to break The Cycle so bad, not just for his sake, but for his husband and daughter. But of course, The Cycle didn’t break and now Ozpin is undergoing the same kinds of fears and anxieties as his mentor and what it means to love as a person with two quickly merging souls.

By the time we catch up to canon, the merge has already happened. And both Glynda and Ozpin still harbor feelings for each other but have never acted upon them due to them feeling that they simply can’t and shouldn’t. 

Glynda feels she should be focused on protecting Ozpin and Beacon and its students from Salem’s forces, rather than be distracted by something such as love.

And Ozpin grows rather distant himself, due to the merge and certain things that have happened to them.

Sadly, this isn’t a love story, More so a tragedy if anything. But they do care VERY much for each other. It’s just that neither ever get the chance to say that, before The Fall happens.
