Picked up some sushi from Sushi GoGo (争鲜gogo) on the way home from work. This is the best budget place for sushi bento in Singapore. They have a new Salmon & Yellowtail Sushi Bento for S$7.50. Comes with four pieces each of salmon and yellowtail sushi in two flavours - plain and black pepper. As usual, I also went for my favourite Aburi Salmon Sushi Bento (S$6.50) with torched salmon brushed with sushi sauce and sprinkled with white sesame seeds.

Today, I wanted to eat sushi, but I can’t spoil myself on a Monday (if it were later in the week, I would), so I bought sushi bowl as a takeaway. 🐟🍣

This sushi takeaway shop is affordable and tasty. I can eat more sushi topping than supermarket sushi.

Today’s sushi toping that I chose were:

• Lean tuna (maguro akami)

• Minced tuna (negitoro)

• Yellowtail (warasa)

• Bonito (katsuo)

• Shrimp (ebi) ※

• Herring roe (kazunoko)

• Fatty salmon (toro salmon)

※ I ordered raw shrimp, but they brought boiled shrimp instead — I didn’t mind, though.

Only the herring roe weren’t not good. Because these were the molded kind. But I mixed it well with wasabi and pickled ginger, and it actually tasted okay.

The other toppings were all good, so overall I was pretty satisfied.

I also had one beer. It was a local Shimane beer, the mandarin ale on the far left.

By the way, I want to post a stylish photo that makes it look delicious, but it’s difficult to make it look tasty in a picture. 😐 It's one of the better shots. 😗

I'm suffering so have some Tunt doodles, she's been renamed Yellowtail! Her brightthroat markings extend to and engulf her tail, hence the name :3 Yell, Yellow, Tail, and Tal are all suitable names! I half ship her with Orlagk the Oppressor, the bby in the first image is Skarlagk herself! Tiny baby!

lychee sake + hamachi/yellowtail = literally the best combo ever

bonus points because this place had PERILLA LEAVES which i have been looking for forever, but couldnt find fresh anywhere local until now

ive heard them described as minty basil, but to me it tasted exactly like lemon verbena leaves when eaten raw, like i used to lol
