Embarrassingly enough I had a Sh3Rl0ck phase but I didn’t care for J0hnlock….bc I only cared for Moriarty m. But I think it’s funny how the fandom made up Moran for the bbc vers. Which lead me to I reading a fanfic about Moriarty in his 20s and the author made up a sailor character…..and the author is still writing a sequel. At this point, it’s fiction……you know what I mean? Too bad A.Scott puts his whole pussy into Moriarty. Because it is almost original work lol.

BBC GHOSTS: DEEP DIVE
"You're a bloody fool, James!" - Ben Willbond, Inside Ghosts: A Christmas Gift.
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR CHRISTMAS EPISODE AND SEASON 5. BE WARNED.
Okay, just before we start, I WILL be referring to BOTH James and The Captain. Wait and see, your poor little dumplings.
We all know The Captain. Brave, stern, always has a stiff upper lip and of course, most obviously, he's an ABBA loving star. Joking (not really though)!! The most obvious part is that he is gay, but he hides it deep down inside himself. You'd have to kill him to find out or well, you know what I mean (/ref). That part deep down inside himself is James. James. The real person, the person under the mask, the villain, the mastermind of it all. Except that... James isn't really anything like The Captain. James is not brave, not stern, never has a stiff upper lift, but he's still an ABBA fan and gay. Incredibly, incredibly gay.
We know that he had a very, VERY strong crush on Havers (Anthony as I will be referring to) as evident in the Cricket Report in the Button House Archives and in Redding Weddy/Carpe Diem. Throughout the series, we see James fall for men. Mike ("Yes, he'd make a very fine soldier."), Adam, the director ("Yes, though I might just... Check."), Pat (even though it's not as obvious, but it's certainly there).
Many people, including myself, head canon James/The Captain to be autistic, and I can very much add some reason and proof to these reasons.
1. A very strict routine. This man will NOT let go of routine, and it is clear in 4x02 (Speak As Ye Chooses) where he states: "It's all very well saying 'At ease', but what do you do for the rest of the day?" and visible expression of shock and anger to finding out that a club was cancelled. As we come to the end of episode, where we see the man casually without his jacket on, he says "We've got forever" before immediately re-settling himself into his strict routine when being reminded of Film Club. But of course, this could be either that James is attracted to Captain America or is just reminded of his strict routine. This links into another point about change. In 3x05 (Something To Share?), this silly man agrees with Pat about how it is frightfully important to have an extremely strict routine. DON'T get me started on his almost coming out. (I will talk about this.)
2. Hyperfixations. This man has a hyperfixation/special interest in tanks, birds and basically anything remotely military related. He made a club solely dedicated FOR birds. He values his hyperfixations over secrets ("This is outrageous, I'll simply have to tell Fanny-" "No more war documentaries, then." "Your secret is safe with me, she'll have to kill me first- Well- You know what I mean."). 1x02, watching Hitler's Secret Superweapons "It's Christmas! I mean, it's Christmas Morning!" and when Mike turns it off... "What the bally heck do you think you are doing? Where the bally hell are the tanks?" "If you were dead, I would thrash your bottom, sir!". As like other autistic people, such as myself, taking away our hyperfixations isn't a good thing. We don't like that.
3. Masking/easily overwhelmed. (Basically what this deep dive is about). James is the true individual. The Captain is his mask, his shell. And he's been living in it for far too long now. He does not like change, and hates loud noises. This is clear when a club is cancelled in 4x02, and when he realizes the Queen's speech is televised in 2x07. He stress stims by using his swagger stick (Or Anthony's) and twirling it around in his fingers, he bounces a lot, he hums a lot, and whenever he matches about the place, he swings his arms depending on what arm the swagger stick is under (usually the right), and yes, I know that military marching is very exaggerating on the arms, but STILL, it's an output of energy that he does CONSTANTLY. I don't think I've seen anybody talk about the fact he hums. He does it SO MUCH.
4. Tone. Because of his ridiculous amount of gayness inside of him, this man cannot always understand straight jokes. 5x04, where they play Blankety Blank and he does not understand the word "saucy" (I mean, it is late 20th century/early 21st century slang...) and does not approve of the meaning. He gets jokes late, but that's alright because I do too.
ANYWAYS. Back to his pining.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the first GIF, you see James check Adam out. This also happens in another scene with the quote "Do you find yourself to be distracted?" where he takes the moment to check Adam out yet again. In this second GIF, you see James slightly creep out when he realizes that he's openly saying he'll miss a man, with that look down, almost ashamed of himself.
But why does he fall for these men of order? Because it reminds him of Anthony, not because they're bossing everyone about - it's as if they're doing the bossing about for him, so he can relax and be himself. During Redding Weddy, we see Anthony order the unit around whilst James is looking outside the window (suppressing stims, but bouncing slightly on his feet) trying to spot Germans. I could see why James fell for Anthony. Despite everyone else, Anthony does not see these stims as annoying or his remarks to be unfunny. We see him SMILE when James makes a joke.
As we know, their love for each other was mutual.
Tumblr media
He knew.
Tumblr media
Anthony smiles after saying "James" and saying "I know". Why? He knew he was dying, he knew that James loved him, he knew why James was here. He wanted to be by James' side as he died to comfort him. To just be together, maybe once. Maybe twice. We don't know if they've held hands, kissed, but still. This is a very significant moment.
Additionally, Anthony's knowledge of James' intense crush is during their talk in James' office in Redding Weddy as it starts to reach a conclusion. Anthony subtly hints to the fact that if James should say anything, the moment is now ("Well, if that's all?").
He raises his eyebrow slightly, communicating to James that he is eager to hear what he really says, and that it's okay to be them because they're alone together. But no. The Captain completely hides James away. Anthony understands, he always has. The Captain probably hid James away because of Anthony's reaction to "I shall miss you, Havers." (his smile drops).
But... "I say, Havers?"
The way Anthony turns around. SO QUICK.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
His smile. It's so ridiculously warm. But he knows because he saw that hesitancy, he saw James' sad expression. James is bally well sad that Anthony is leaving!!
Masking is clearly shown in this conversation. The Captain is preventing James from speaking the truth. And just like how he buried the limpet mine, he too, buried his feelings. And it became a ticking time bomb to Carpe Diem, where that emotional bomb finally explodes.
He leaves it to the last second. Literally. Let me show you proof.
Tumblr media
Ben is absolutely AMAZING at micro-expressions, one of the many reasons I love to delve into The Captain so much. Carpe Diem (5x05) is an excellent example of some of the best James scenes.
Right here, what I am personally reading is that James is attempting to unmask, or is in the process of doing so. He deciding whether he should tell his story or not. This frame is important as it comes just after the quote "When I died, I never got to be surrounded by the people I loved." Blatant foreshadowing here because well, it shows that James loved Anthony and still does, despite it being 83 years since Anthony left of that year, he still holds him very dear to his heart. Of course, he has Anthony's swagger stick, which I love because he's always been there with James to help him out through moments. I love that and I love everything about that. How I ADORE Simon Hynd's directing here of the camera position, openly hinting to the fact that James died with Anthony next to him. God, everyone in that show is a mastermind!!
I also think that he is remembering here. Perhaps remembering the good memories? That Sunday afternoon stroll, or that certain Cricket Report? He's trying desperately to remember Anthony so he doesn't forget him when he moves on. For all he knows, he doesn't even know if Anthony thinks of him. All he knows is that he knew, and is most probably dead. He doesn't know what's beyond the veil. He doesn't know if he'll see Anthony. It's worth it.
This "desperate searching" facial expression is the same as the expression he had when glancing at the gate a few scenes prior to this, eyebrows furrowed and mouths slightly agape. It cuts to the gate, where we know, that in Redding Weddy, Havers walked out of. Anthony. Yet again, he's remembering him. James is obsessed with the memory of Anthony, the good times they had yet the good times they never were really good as laws about homosexuality were extremely strict. You could even say he is clingy.
Another thing is that, The Captain is one of the most favourite characters and people have been demanding to see how he died for ages! Why is it near the end of the last season? Well. I may have an idea to why it is in the last season.
James leaves things until the last second, he leaves the real explanation to things until it's too late. I saw someone on tiktok quote that James is as pretty as poppies because his love sprouts up in the wrong times and wrong places, which I think is amazing. I personally believe that his death was purposely the last one because you needed to see that he's more than just a stern WW2 CO with no feelings. He's an anxious man who's terrified of the real world so decides to seclude himself in a time and place where he was loved. World War 2. 1940. When Anthony loved him. We needed to see this inner secluded character within him to make the death sadder, which is what Ben likes, the silly man.
This also explains why he says "Is it? Is it, Alison?" during Redding Weddy because, well, with his mindset and attitude, he doesn't believe the war is over. He wasn't very good at keeping a unit of alive people under control, but perhaps he could try at keeping a whole bunch of dead people under control to keep himself busy from accepting the fact that Anthony is gone and he should emotionally move on.
In 4x04 (Gone Gone), the episode where Mary moves on, we see that James' coping mechanism is to keep himself busy. Keep himself busy so he doesn't have to focus on his feelings, but when he's given the time to pause and process it... He completely breaks down. Imagine that with Anthony when he left for North Africa.
But why does he like Pat?
Well. It isn't canon. But, the most recent Christmas special definitely hints at it. Pat introduced James to the amazing thing of baby talking, attempting to teach him just as Mia is put to bed. But once again The Captain's hard shell is back again and gives him a monotone voice and tone, rather making him seem like a robot. But at the end of the episode. He learned, and the glance he takes towards Pat is "Did I do it?" and Pat gives him a warm smile and a subtle nod. HUSBANDS I TELL YOU!
The Woodworm Men (3x03): Pat outbests The Captain with camping, yet they are still both very keen. The Captain trudged back though!! In this episode, James is awarded the teamwork badge from Pat, and when you see the scene, you can tell that he is smitten and in love. Because, now rewatching that scene with the context of his death, he must've been the happiest he had been in a while to achieve and properly earn a badge. James, I think, personally likes Pat because he still has all the leading roles (being a scout leader) and that reminds him a lot of Anthony hence why we see them working together in a lot of episodes (2x06, 2x02, etc). It all leads back to Anthony. Who knows what would've happened if they didn't meet.
I also think that Getting Out (1x06) is a good episode that represents self growth as well as debating with the issue of being mocked, as James is mocked in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is him overhearing the conversation. Confusion. Anger. This episode is where James learns that not everybody will adapt themselves for him, not everybody will accept the way he acts. It's pretty clear that he cannot control this mindset he has, it was probably drilled into him, the poor soul. The way he brings himself back into the group is through a secret weapon (Kitty, because she's the most likeable and their relationship is mwah).
This episode is also important because of the scene in the library with James and Kitty.
Tumblr media
"What matters more? Keeping Alison here, or letting her be happy?"
Now imagine that question but Anthony. James has sacrificed his life and soul towards Anthony, and even has a piece of him with him. This man is obsessed with Anthony. Crazily in love. He can't control his feelings for people. It just... Happens.
After Carpe Diem, it took me only a fraction of a second to see how comfortable he was. He was free to love who he wanted! I was stimming so crazily when the last scene of Season 5 (disregarding the Christmas special) was him being gay. Fanny comforted him after he came out, and every one supported him. He feels safe now.
The mirror and the draw in the intro.
Personally, I believe that the mirror represents the fact that his medals are the right way, meaning that the man in the mirror is The Captain and the man looking at his reflection is James. He's looking what he could've been. A hero. Yet now that he's come to terms with himself, James knows that he can be himself now. Free of judgement. Free of secluding himself away. I believe that the drawer represents him ever searching for more memories to grasp onto, more things about Anthony to remember. I also think it represents the fact that there is something inside of him that is worth looking for, and that thing deserves to be looked for and looked after. The draw is pulled out as far as it can go, so this could point to the fact that there is something buried within the house that needs to be found and given back to him. Could be the limpet mine. Or perhaps that William letter truly was a love letter.
OVERALL:
James is a different man to The Captain. The Captain is merely a costume or a nickname James wears knowing full well of the man he is underneath those perceived images of him. James is a coward. James is obsessed with Anthony. His heart has bled so much he has to rely on the small amount of attention from someone so he can carve it out and then offer it to those people who attention has been wasted on him. Ben is an amazing actor and writer who threads things together so subtly and sneakily it's insane. James won't let go of the military mindset, just incase he meets Anthony when he moves on. He thinks that no one will fall in love with the present him so he tries his best to act like his old self. Ben is right. You certainly are a fool, James. But oh, how I love your character.

Hi, first thanks for all the great meta and analysis❤️
So, I recently noticed this an increase of something that really annoys me: whenever the canyon stumbles upon an opinion they don’t agree with they’re acting like Con O’Neill is this helpless baby that needs protection from people criticising a character he played/his acting choices (because that obviously equals a personal attack🙄).
And as if he is this groundbreaking queer actor that has done more for the LGBTQIA+ community then David with OFMD.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely respect Con O’Neill and I do believe him that he is queer (despite there having been some valid doubts in the past) but I honestly don’t see that he played Izzy as gay (again, not on him, he just went with the role of the antagonist that he was given and did that really well, and then the Izzy fans tried to make it something that it was not). And if he did try to play Izzy as gay within the limitations of that script, then ok….an old white cis gay man who also falls into that hurtful trope of queer coded villain…tell me how that is groundbreaking representation again?
The same goes for “all of the other queer roles” he played according to the canyon. There are two of that I think:
1)Cliff Costello, Cucumber (another old white gay men in a show with some very backwards views about how you are only properly gay if you get fucked in the arse or fuck others in the arse. No, I’m serious, the whole premise of the show is how horrible it is that the protagonist dosnt like anal!)
2)Val Pearson, Uncle (a character that fits every horrible stereotype of how trans people look, Con O’Neill stans love to claim that aCtUaLlY Val is gender fluid, but that is purely a head canon and never established in the show! If you know how 2000s media classically portrayed trans women and always made them the butt of the joke, this role is exactly(!) reproducing all of that).
Both of these are just side character btw.
And I’m not blaming Con O’Neill for taking on these very problematic roles, as queer people we often have to take whatever representation we are given. Still -especially as a queer person- we don’t live in the 80s anymore you are allowed to be more critical about the roles you take on.
And I don’t think /he/ was the problem with these roles, I actually watched Uncle and like the way he played that character but that dosnt change the fact that the character itself is written deeply transphobic.
So maybe we shouldn’t pretend that they’re great representation?
And maybe we shouldn’t act as if Con had specifically chosen to play queer characters?
Like two deeply offensive stereotypical LGBTQIA+ characters in 40 years acting career? -that’s not more then your regular straight actor has played.
He is a decent actor but it annoys me that the canyon tries to turn him into this activist or something!
Wow, this got longer then I expected, sry just had to vent a little after seeing some rather outlandish canyon takes in the wild😅
OK, before I answer, I want to remark that this is a very thorny issue. I am not trans, and I know that there are some trans people who saw themselves in Izzy's characterization especially in Season 2 or discovered their own gender identity through that character. That's absolutely valid, and no one should ever say that it isn't.
I have not seen Con O'Neill in anything other than OFMD. From what I've seen, he's a good actor and seems a lovely guy who strongly supports fans and the LGBTQ+ community. But I can't speak to the other roles he has played because I have not seen them.
I read Izzy as queer, yes, though that's less explicit in the first season. He's very much the "queer-coded villain" trope, which is a homophobic trope...but as with everything OFMD does with tropes, it's subverted because—surprise!—almost everyone is queer. Izzy is very much an archetype of toxic masculinity and I think part of the point of the character is to develop how queerness does not always equal liberation.
I think it's very easy to fall into stan culture and arguing that the actor is the role and vice versa (so a criticism of Izzy is somehow a criticism of Con O'Neill). We have an additional layer here that this is a very queer show watched by a lot of queer people who see themselves, some for the first time, on the screen, and so are naturally defensive of the show itself, the specific characters, and the actors who play them. And that can cause a lot of problems too, especially if you're invested in the character who is canonically The Antagonist. To complicate it further, he is representative of a very common trope that for a long time was the major way queer people were represented at all in mainstream media, and we have people reading him as though he is the sole queer character. Which he likely would be, in many other stories...but not here.
It's a complicated issue. I wish that we could all step back a bit from our emotional investment in these characters and actors and recognize that they are part of a TV show that wears its tropes on its sleeve, and that just because an actor is a lovely person in real life, he is not his character.

This is hilarious and fateful
I saw the episode, and I never really thought that wasting time like this would be a suffering that lasted too long. I'm going to get good and bad things from what I saw
first for good, okay?
1. The deaf imp
In itself, I was very surprised by this character and to tell the truth I can consider him better than the other deep and sad Pseudos that only serve to make the panties get wet because of the Fujoshits, and it is something that in this program is seen very little or is scarce in Yes, it made me tender that Fizz treated him well.
2. Fizz and Asmodeus' relationship
What can we say, the relationship itself is healthy, and superior to many of both series and when Asmodeus protected Fizz it is something nice on his part, not like a certain owl who is only interested in the red cock who is a tremendous fucking creep unable to defend his """"little""", this relationship is one of the few salvageable things in this series
Now with the bad things
3. The songs
For the love of God... why? All the songs seem forgettable and super stupid to me, it seems that the only thing this chapter does is create time and necessary filler that will never contribute or amount to anything
4. The imp hater by fizarolli
This was expected, it doesn't surprise me much to tell the truth... just imagine that you are so hurt by harmless criticism of your program that you only hope for a good change and to be guided to do a good deed, but you prefer to spend and overexploit the Poor workers who only want some money to encourage your resentment in a lively way, this is ridiculous and makes others feel sorry for Viviana Medrano
5. Mammon
This is the first most annoying, loudest and most obnoxious thing I've ever seen followed by Chaz, the only thing he knows how to say is pure rudeness in every damn sentence, it's a fucking audiovisual blister that seems to never end, apart from the cringe I feel about it, the Deadly sins of this show will never be taken seriously and more that sexist phrase about "Women are not funny" and then you're dead... Damn you Medrano bitch, can't you at least respect a simple woman even if she has a tertiary role in your shitty program? (And ironic why you make penis jokes and swear words to wait for someone to laugh and praise you)
6. I HOPE THEY FUCK YOU BLITZ
Is it really necessary to put Blitz in every episode? For the love of God, am I already sick of listening and seeing that red cringe guy making those embarrassing faces and hearing his voice why can't I listen to Brandon normally anymore without remember this abusive and manipulative guy swearing!? They shoehorned this guy in just to get "laughs" and make him stick to Fizz when he was given the biggest tragedy of his life
7. Good vs bad, hAha tHeY aRe RiGht wHy tHEy aRe nExT To thE bOyS aNd uwu sOfT
As always, our wonderful writing writing the bad characters, like the black ones in this Turkish soap opera and making them caricatures for mockery and portraying them as the soft boys and uwu the good ones. These characters are already predictable, if there is a soft and sore young gay uwu, he will be the good one because he is the soft and sore young gay uwu and we are all forced to take his side, while those who have the potential to be good villains like Striker, you position them as silly, cartoonish and you are the generic antagonist of a series for children under 6 years old, for example Asmodeus against Mammon
It's good that the views are getting lower and lower, so soon we won't be able to stand this series in decline and the next more ridiculous, repulsive, mediocre, cringe and pathetic chapter written by a ridiculous, mediocre, cringe, pathetic, misogyny, sexist, Transphobic , racist, xenophobic writer who only ruined her own work so that her little friends the Fujoshits (I already saw you SatorRojas, TeaTheKook and Dani) get their panties wet and buy more panties again to get them wet because they can't stand two boys together

what are your favorite relationships in BB? doesn’t have to be romantic, could be friends, family, mentor-apprentice, etc.
I have a big soft spot for the mentorships. They're so neglected in canon that I really get to decide whatever I want it to be, and when I shuffle apprentices I'm always trying to do matchups that are particularly interesting.
But there's also romantic and familial bonds that do it for me. Scattershot;
Honeysnake and Briarlight They've grown on me super quickly. Honeyfern's Honor Title for surviving the adder bite, the drama she gets in when her sister starts dating her ex, becoming the mentor of the kitten she saved, their final interaction before the Great Battle. I think it's a powerful thing.
Brokenstar and Runningnose sir this is my emotional support evil ambiguously gay couple. "Soooo Brokenstar what's your situation with Runningnose?" "planning the demise of windclan" "yes but are you an item" "perhaps, long ago, but now i have come to learn i am a force of great revenge" "do you kiss" "i bite"
Fallenleaf and Cinderheart Something about Cinderheart trying to have a life without her, and finding the color drained from it. Fallenleaf spending another lifetime enacting horrible tyranny, but unable to communicate the horror of her reign. Someone who is loyal and devoted to you, when you feel like you don't deserve it. A fresh god and her first priestess.
HareHeatherBreeze Ex-villain going through a housewife arc and his ambitious husband and wife
Pinestar and Speckletail, Mudfur and Leopardstar, Tallstar and Flytail, Cloudtail/Ferncloud and Ashfur This dynamic is cool ranch doritoes to me, I can't stop. "Little person I was trusted with raising, kitten I loved, where have you gone? How could I have helped you? I did my best and it was still the wrong thing!" It's versatile, too. Pine perfectly mentored Speckle, but his mind is changing on that being a good thing. Mudfur realizes he should have left Leopard and Carp with their mother in that kittypet home. Tallstar created his greatest rival for deputyship. Cloud and Fern wonder if there was a sign they ignored. Love it love it love it
Dustpelt and his kids Dad who makes you hold the flashlight as he looks under the car energy.
Hawkfrost and Ivypool "I was recruited by a demon who was meant to be my mentor, but slowly I'm realizing that I'm growing older and he looks younger and younger. He's practically a child and he's being used by his father just as much as me by mine. Oh god, we're fools being lead around by fools"
Frostfur and Everyone Be it her and her mentor Bluestar, or how she can connect with Dustpelt when he makes mistakes, or how she comforts her daughter when she's attacked by dogs, I just really appreciate her.
Cinderpelt and Littlecloud BESTIES in two different Clans, their friendship is just so much fun. "Why is Littlecloud here" "He's checking my leech setup" "Why is Cinderpelt here" "She's checking my leech setup :)"
Swansong and Mistystar They didn't take all of her siblings from her, because they refused to acknowledge he's her brother. That was a mistake; she's got the most loyal sibling a person could ever ask for, he'll fight and die by her side if she gives the word. A good brother helps you hide the body <3

Hey, hello. Any chance I can get a nsfw hc or a confession of love with mr Compress? (Or both) 😁
I love this man so much.
YES ugh i love him so much too you have no idea 😭💕
i started writing this as general / romantic headcanons before realizing you asked for NSFW so uh, surprise! you got so much more content now! SDKFJHSDF blame (or praise) my adhd for not fuckin comprehending the entire question first

Mr. Compress General / Romantic / NSFW headcanons
This post contains NSFW content, so minors DNI! [not to mention mans is like, 32 yrs old so y'all shouldn't be shipping urself w/ him anyway]
────── ・ 。゚: .☽ . : 。゚・ ──────
Tumblr media
General
This man is eccentric - that's a fact. So of course he’s likely to talk with big flowery words and large hand gestures to accentuate his topic of conversation - regardless of how much or little needed to be said
Like I said, he talks with his hands, A LOT, and he also likes to walk around or pace while he talks as well
Probably has ADHD but that’s likely just me projecting lmao
Obviously a theatre guy, adores musicals and old fashioned plays
If he were to have a Spotify it would be full of musical theater show tunes, both modern and retro
Everyone says he’s inept at technology, but I say that's just modern tech. He’s got an old laptop, a CD player, an old MP3 player (filled with musical show tunes and other indie stuff), and of course: a Nokia
He has a modern smartphone courtesy of the League, but he only uses it for phone calls and texts since he has no idea how nor want to use anything else on it unless necessary
Somehow both a fashion icon and disaster. Theatre kids, y’know?
Really only calls himself an old man due to the fact he talks like he just got transported from the Victorian era; because seriously, being in your 30s is not at all old
Despite always having his face covered, he takes great care in his complexion and appearance. Lots of skincare products, lotions, soaps, creams, etc.
Before the whole ordeal with the League, he would always join a community theater as a hobby! He adored doing silly little play sketches for charity or volunteering as a drama coach. He even directed some small local plays himself! (Under a pseudonym, of course)
Romantic
I headcanon him as gay, or at the very least bi/pan with a strong lean towards men
Love language is words of affirmation and gift giving! I mean, he’s such a talker that his love for speech is bound to extend to his partner. And he’s a master thief, so of course he’s going to steal only the best for his lover. They just have to say the word, and it’s in front of them the next day
Such a romantic, in the most classy yet extravagant way. Romantic candle lit dinner? Of course! But it’s at the top of the tallest building in the city with a gorgeous view of the moonlit ocean and bustling city all at once
Will absolutely do the cheesy magician move of pulling flowers out of his sleeve or hat and bows as he presents them to his partner, and no matter how many times he does this - which is at LEAST twice a week - his partner will always find it so charming
His partner will hopefully be willing to deal with his criminal record that only continues to grow, because he doesn’t plan on stopping
And if his partner wishes or does work alongside him as a thief/League villain? Incredible! Romantic! It’s like a Bonnie and Clyde type duo!
Just as long as his partner understands that he can and WILL compress them into a marble if things get too dangerous
Doesn’t often get jealous, or at least doesn’t make it obvious. When it IS obvious, it’s honestly adorable because he gets so pouty and clingy. Might even purposefully put on his frowning mask just to make a point, especially if his partner still hasn’t noticed how awfully and truly upset and ignored he is :’(

Below here are the NSFW headcanons!
Tumblr media
NSFW
Tops and bottoms equally, but leans towards service dom most times. However, it’s VERY easy to get him into a submissive, begging mess
With a few well placed touches and hushed words whispered in his ear, his partner can have them as putty in their hands
While he’s a romantic and would prefer being slow and intimate, he’s also secretly into quickies and fast, yet passionate sex
His kinks are a little all over the place and in some cases a bit strange. While he’s into more mainstream stuff like sensory play and roleplay, he’s also into things like frotting, clothed sex, semi-public sex, consensual exhibitionism, orgies, hands-free orgasms, using quirks during sex, all that sorta stuff
More than willing to wear the mask during sex - loves the sense of mystery it can bring
Before he was with his partner, he was super into alley quickies with complete strangers
Buzzed/drunk sex is something he likes, just with how often he drinks wine or champagne

ok ok imo there was defo some planning to the bees becoming canon and to deny that is kinda silly to me. that doesn’t mean that planning and eventual execution was good.
•Yang losing her arm is apparently a “sign of her love for Blake” because of that line Adam had in V3? …I thought y’all despised his ass, when did we start believing a word that came out of his mouth??
•On that note, paralleling the two, when the latter was literally the abuser of the former’s current gf, is…..😬
•Also on that note, the objective infantilizing of Blake. All she really does now is whimper and be meek around Yang until another “bee moment” or until the plot remembers to use her for something. Yes, because turning this once feisty character into this shy nervous little meow meow who can’t even fight on her own anymore after she’s revealed to have been an abuse victim is totally not gross.
•Yang prioritizes her new GF over her little sister who is clearly in a horrible headspace, and when she finally breaks down, instead of attempting to calm her down or console her she steps in front of a COWERING BLAKE and just says “Hey!”. YOU TWO ARE BOTH OLDER THAN HER WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS
•The scene in which they finally confess was literally forced out of them by a storm. I…I thought we learned to not do this? Guys? Um…
•The 10 year queerbaiting smugly disguised as “planned from the start uwu” that Voltron Legendary Fucking Defender wishes it could have achieved. Does that mean it was always planned that you’d write your hatesink character to have been a branded child slave? Does that mean it was always planned that you’d write the confession of these two’s love for each other to have been forced out of them? Does that mean it was always planned that you’d confirm your main queer couple two episodes before said couple did nothing to save their 17 year old leader from taking her own life on screen?
•Saying the quiet part out loud when an employee tweeted that “The bee kiss alone hopefully green lights V10.”
•Also, the immediate merchandising of it. Ugh.
Before I go on, no I do not believe the bees were “forced diversity”. No I do not believe Adam was killed to push it (he was killed because the writers wanted a quick way for people to forget how abhorrently racist this show fucking got anyways). No I do not believe this is a bad pairing, and if you accuse me of being an [insert hetero Blake/Yang ship here], I ship fucking Monochrome and Thundercats, dude. But what about the rest of this show’s LGBT representation? Is it any b
No.
•Our first on screen rep is in the form of Ilia. I really like Ilia, genuinely, she’s honestly one of my favorite characters. But why did they write their first lesbian character in the “psycho lesbian” trope? Also, why did their first indigenous character start out as a villain who had to be redeemed by learning violent protest bad all lives matter and ANYWAYS—
•Coco leers at women and her allusion is a fucking Nazi. She sucks. •The wives from V6 (Terracotta-Arcs??) are fine. Probably the most decent rep we’ve got, even if they were just a one off thing. They’re cute and I’m happy for em. Slay.
•We’ve got a single gay man in the entire cast (Scarlet) and he’s confirmed in a book. A single gay dude in a show infamous for its character bloat. Obviously we know why but man.
•3 non-binary characters. 1 is in a spin-off, 2 are animals. In this latest volume in which the last two are present, one is revealed to be a villain, and the other goes out Green Mile style. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay….
•And lastly, May. I also do like May! However, her character is not the problem.
What is the problem with all of this, no mater what, is the people, company, making this show.
Rooster Teeth is not your friend. Rooster Teeth does not care about you, or putting that loving care into representation.
Why are half of the villains disabled? Why are half of the villains in universe minorities? Why are half of the villains POC? Why are half of the villains a combination of two or all three of those traits?
Why is the only freedom fighting, minority rights organization terrorists? Why does their WOC leader die the scene we meet her? And why is her killer revealed to have been in fucking slavery the same episode he dies on screen in? And why is this organization taken as a serious threat, while two openly racist antagonists are portrayed as goofy and comical?
Why are any and all plus-sized characters portrayed as jokes? Why does the disabled-coded girl get her disability ripped away from her so she can “truly be human”? Why does another disabled character have him losing an arm to mean he’s lost his humanity? Why does this show portray so many misandristic tropes? Why does this show portray so many misogynistic tropes?
Why was this show’s first LGBT character a villain? Why was the next based off a Nazi? Why are two out of their three non-binary characters animals, and why have those two either been “killed” or turned into villains? Why is there only one gay man in this huge cast?
And why is it so many just let it slide that, while before and during the production of the volumes featuring the show’s first transgender character, Rooster Teeth treated and abused that character’s VA like absolute garbage?
Are the lives of those real people less important than those sweet, sweet “bee moments”?
In conclusion, the bees were not forced. I am glad they are canon. But I am not glad that it has nearly managed to conceal all the deplorable shit the racist, homophobic and awful company behind it has done.

@bunnymajo did a super cute character questionnaire for the upcoming OC tournament, and I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so here's my own, for Haunt!
Feel free to check out his Toyhou.se also! Linked here. It's a bit barebones ATM while I work on a lot of different things, but there'll be more eventually, and he's got some refs on there.
Name: Haunt
Species: Bigfin Squid
Type: Power
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Home: The Sunken City
✨How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Haunt, like most of my ocs, bounced around between a few different names before I settled on one. I wanted something that would reflect his powers and ghostly appearance, though, and settled on Haunt!
🌼  - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
He's 23!
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
Every villain he's ever met. He's deeply infatuated with power and confidence and the people who wield it.
🍕  - What is their favorite food?
He's eaten nothing but raw fish for his entire life.
💼  - What do they do for a living?
Haunt is the sole resident of a magically-protected sunken city. He's the heir of an extinct royal bloodline that ruled a kingdom that no longer exists. He's an aspiring henchman, though. He wants to do villainy and uphold the family legacy, but doesn't have the backbone to take charge.
Literally. No bones.
🎹  - Do they have any hobbies?
He does magic and sinks ships for fun.
🎯  -What do they do best?
He's an excellent mage, but an even better powerhouse. He has incredible strength, and underwater he's fast and deadly ... though he doesn't really utilize his capabilities well.
🥊  -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
He loves people-watching. It's his favourite thing in the world. He'll find a person to fixate on and watch every video, memorize every photo, learn every mannerism. He idolizes people like Doctor Eggman, and practices his own grand villain monologues in the mirror sometimes. Aside from that, he enjoys reading - hard to do underwater, though.
He hates cleaning, and feels awkward and nervous with any sort of social interaction. Talking to people is difficult, and impressing them even more so. He wilts under attention.
❤️  - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
The first time he conjured a little ball of light underwater. It was his first spell, and kickstarted his passion for magic.
✂️   - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Every day he endures the terrors. It isn't so much one solid memory so much as the realization that he was alone, always had been alone, and unless he made a name for himself, he always would be alone.
Though his first trip to the surface is a close second. The sun is a deadly laser.
🧊  - Is their current design the first one?
Yes! He's gone through very minor palette tweaks but that's it.
🍀  - What originally inspired the OC?
I wanted to make a Mobian who was a funky animal you don't see a lot! Mammals are obviously a bit cuter and more appealing, but I think the aquatics are vastly underrated. And you ever seen that oil rig camera footage of a bigfin squid? They're terrifying.
🌂  - What genre do they belong in?
Haunt is the sometimes-useless antagonist in a horror/comedy. He's a nightmare of the deep ... and he cries like a baby if he has to endure direct sunlight.
💚  -What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Haunt's a cis man (he/him) and he's gay!
🙌  - How many siblings does your OC have?
None! Only child.
🍎  - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
He never met his father, and his mother is a ghost who haunts a building in the city, so that's ... awkward. She raves about his destiny and bringing death to the surface-dwellers and he's just like "what in the sea's name art thou talking about, spectre. nay. i seek the tome behind ye, be all. silence thy beak."
classic mother son bonding
🧠  - What do you like most about the OC?
He's just kind of ... pathetic. Like, he's wildly capable of so much and too pathetic to be a real threat unless utilized by someone bolder. It gives him a lot of interesting dynamic potential with whatever villain I team him up with.
✏️  - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Haunt's a roleplay character sooo semi-often. But not too often! I need to draw him more, he's a funny little guy.
💎  - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
No I don't like killing OCs in general and Haunt's my little guy!
💀  - Does your OC have any phobias?
The sun. Dry air. Fire. He thinks skeletons are gross and scary. Afraid of ghosts, VERY haunted.
🍩  -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Just about every 'good guy' he meets, but entirely one-sidedly. He wants to be someone's nemesis sooo badly but no one takes him seriously.
🎓  - How long have you had the OC?
Not long at all! He's only had a finalized design for, like, two months.
OTHER:
He speaks in some bizarre approximation of Olde English. He rarely walks on his feet, preferring to walk on his tentacles. Same with picking things up. His hands are near-exclusively used for spellwork. He doesn't have a set amount of tentacles, either. He only blinks when it's funny. When casting spells, he writes runes in ink. Squid ink. It's his own tears. He's just in general a wet, boneless freak. He's TINY, under three feet tall, but his tentacles can extend to nearly any length and he tends to match the height of or tower over anyone he meets. If your character's a villain, assume he would do anything to impress them.
I really want to try drawing a picture or two for every matchup Haunt makes it to, but if that doesn't happen and you still have thoughts as to how that'd work out, lemme know ... I think abt him a normal amount and everyone's OCs I've seen are SO cute so far

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! is not only the best Scooby movie in the past (at least) ten years, it’s probably the best piece of Scooby anything in the past (at least) ten years.
Yes, Mystery Incorporated was good. I appreciated the darker tone, and the season-long storylines rather than each episode having different, disconnected stories was very cool. However, in doing that, I felt that they lost a bit of the Scooby magic. Not to mention the Velma/Shaggy relationship, and the god awful characterization of Velma as an individual character. And while I always love a traps-obsessed Fred (and they did that so well), I hated Daphne pining after him episode after episode while he seemed to not care about her at all.
Be Cool, Scooby-Doo was also very good. It was definitely one of the funniest pieces of Scooby media we’ve ever gotten. The first episode alone made me laugh harder than almost any of the other movies or shows. But the animation was absolutely atrocious, and that sort of thing, to me, is unforgivable for Scooby.
Trick or Treat Scooby Doo!, however, is perfect, and I do not say that lightly. The entire thing is the perfect homage to the original show, and the perfect way to stay true to what Scooby should be, while also modernizing it a little.
The animation. Don’t even get me started. It’s literally just an updated version of the original animation for Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?, and I am completely in love with it. This is the animation that should be used for the new stuff!
And queer Velma! Thank god for whoever at WB finally made Velma queer. I salute you. It was perfect. Coco Diablo was also incredibly hot, continuing the decades long Scooby movie tradition of having insanely gorgeous side characters that will 100% be some kid’s gay awakening. Or, at the very least, they’ll be like me and look back at this movie once they know they’re queer and realize that there was a very specific reason they were so obsessed with her. For anyone wondering, these characters for me were Lena and Simone from Zombie Island, the Hex Girls, Crystal from Abracadabra-Doo, Crystal from Alien Invaders, Miss Mirimoto from Samurai Sword, and that blue-haired witch from Goblin King.
And the humour! This movie is so genuinely hilarious. I killed myself laughing quite a few times. So unhinged, a lot like Be Cool. It delighted me to no end.
Not to mention all of the little Easter eggs that they threw in for the complete fanatics like me. They all made me so, so happy. The old villains and their costumes, the gang sitting at the table in the library and looking up, the brief reference to Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King (my personal favourite Scooby movie), and as I mentioned, the animation.
This movie is just. . . it’s the perfect Scooby movie, okay? The world needs more Scooby, and if it’s done like this (even if they only do a few more, so we have a perfect couple in a row reminiscent of the Zombie Island, Witch’s Ghost, Alien Invaders, Cyber Chase run, I would be thrilled), it’ll be perfect.
Anyway. That’s just the ranting of an absolute lunatic that’s also a lifelong Scooby lover and also just watched that movie yesterday and is obsessed with it.

Puppets Don't Dance.
Welcome Home AU
Cast 2/3
Human Julie Joyful as Darla Dimple and Home (giant human version) as Max
(SORRY Julie, you always seem to be the villain in these AUs, but enn here we go, also her Chracter is aged down to be a child.)
🌈 America's favorite child actress, "adorable" , "innocent " and "lover of puppets". No one is loved more the Julie in Hollywood.
🌈 But really she is not any of the above, devious, bratty, spoiled, controlling are better words to describe her. Not that it matters, she has everyone working in Hollywood wrapped around her little finger.
🌈 She is not easy to work with, not that it matters. When every one of her flims are five stars, she pretty much knows she can act however she wants.
🌈 For her next movie, she has agreed to star in a movie, that also star Puppets as side Chracters, anything to make her look good and help the "little people ".
🌈should be clear, SHE HATES PUPPETS.
🏡 The real force behind Julie, larger then life I am not even sure Home is human.
🏡 Butler, driver, manger and bodyguard, Home does it all for Julie. Is why no one crosses her either.
🏡 Rarely speaks, but commands the room, when he shows up
Both have a strong hate for Wally, and if he pushes them too far, he may just never work in this town again..

Howdy Pillar as Woolie
(Another age change, an age down. In the flim Woolie was one of the older characters, for thie AU I am keeping all the puppets close to each other in age. Howdy is is late 20s early 30s at most. )
🐛 Howdy is a talented piano player as well in writing music. He wants nothing more then his music to be heard in a flim.
🐛 Unfortunately for poor Howdy, his role is be used for the flim's studio logo. ( Caterpillar pictures: Where we make a flim inch by inch). Not the role he wanted, but at least he has a trailer on the studio where he lives.
🐛 He spends every night playing his music in the studio lot, when everyone is gone. This is when he meets Wally who overheard his music one night. He is the first who drops the harsh truth on Wally on who Hollywood wants in their films and ite not them.
🐛 Still it did not take long for Wally to give him hope, and join in with Wally and Barnaby to chase their goals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frank Frankly and Eddie Dear as Cranston Goat and Frances Albacore
(Yet another age change, both are being aged down to late 20s. Yes they are gay and live together).
🦋✉️ Frank is the grumpiest of Wally's new friends, and the boy friend of Eddie. They spend most of their days at Y/N office looking for roles. Old friends of Y/N, Especially frank.
🦋✉️ Frank's dream is to host documentaries as well act in movies. Eddie just wants to star in romantic comedians with Frank. The two are always seen together.
🦋✉️ They meet Wally, his first day in Hollywood, Eddie taking more a shine to him, they Frank. Eddie being drawn to Wallys hope forces Frank to follow along. Y/N feels his pain. Still they are a great couole and support one another and their friends.

There you go a part 2. I have more planned to show. Snice a few people have been so nice to even read and like my last posts. So thanks to anyone who gets this far!!

BNHA Fic Recs: Family/Friendship Feels
make this feel like home by carolinaa
The Todoroki siblings all come together for Christmas for the first time in years when they hear that Endeavor will be out of town during the break. Very painful, but also the most realistic depiction of estranged siblings that clearly love each other, but don't know how to act around each other. Fantastically written, and it's told from Natsuo's perspective, which is a refreshing take on this genre of Todoroki family recovery fics.
Tickets to the Todoroki Trauma Drama Are Buy 1 Get 1 Free by miniongrin
Touya and Fuyumi are twins and get body-swapped and learn about the lives they've developed since being separated and grow closer as a result. Fucking hysterical, great characterization of Fuyumi specifically, and surprisingly sweet and sad when it wants to be.
journey to the past by aloneintherain
When Izuku's classmates are pro heroes, they time travel back to when Izuku was little and save him from villain attacks repeatedly over the course of his life. This is heartbreakingly sweet. It shows all of Izuku's baggage and loneliness while simultaneously giving us the best friend bonding that is Pro Hero Class A playing with baby Deku. It's like getting an ice cream after getting decked in the nose.
Confusion by bortzy
Todoroki and Kirishima bonding over being gay. That's kind of it, but it's cute. I like Kirishima and Todoroki being friends. It's just uncomplicated friend stuff.
Movin' Out by momojirounation
Todoroki and Yaoyorozu not knowing how to function so they ask their partners for help. Very cute and funny, I love platonic Todomomo, and also they're both autistic, which is just--yes.
i. shaky hands by rexcorvidae
Izuku has chronic pain on account of being the human embodiment of poor impulse control, so Dadzawa steps in and helps him deal with it. It's just nice. It's just nice seeing people treating Izuku well. It's vicarious catharsis.
If We're Being Honest by thequeenofwhump
Class 1A is hit with a truth quirk that causes them to spout "fucking word vomit" for almost a month, and because no one can lie, all the couples get together in, like, the first chapter, and it's great. It's hilarious, especially the internal narration of the characters, and there's a lot of really good friendship moments between everyone involved, and I do mean everyone. It's not just the usual angst-ridden characters like Todoroki and Bakugou. I have a whole review typed up for this bad boy, but I'd say it's worth a read.
Imperceptible by lunarecrypt
A Hagakure-centric fic was something I did not know I needed, but now I'm glad I have it. Hagakure needs stealth advice from Todoroki, and she finds out the barest bones of his backstory and why he is the way he is. I always love fics about less popular characters, and I especially love them when they're told from the perspective of an underappreciated character. I really like Hagakure, and I wish there was more available content about her.
Terrible Twos by PotterheadAvengerDemigod
Midoriya is hit with a Quirk that de-ages him back to when he's four years old, and since Bakugou is the only person he knows and remembers, Bakugou has to babysit him. Tooth-rottingly adorable and features Bakugou struggling not to swear in the presence of innocent baby Deku, lest his friends hit him over the head with a rolled up newspaper. It's great, fucking love it.
all according to keikaku................. by carolinaa
Kirishima gets sick of Midoriya and Todoroki's pining, so he decides to flirt with Todoroki in an attempt to not-so-subtly force Midoriya to confess by taking advantage of Midoriya's competitive streak. The characterization is really solid and features teenagers being teenagers, with all the hell that is high school put on full display. I just love it when class 1A is depicted as just the most Gen Z kids to ever exist. This fic is almost literally every conversation I've overheard or been apart of in homework group study sessions. It's great.
(Honestly, just go read everything by this author).
bff (brother friend forever) by carolinaa
A collection of snapshots showing Iida and Uraraka's friendship, where they're really just bratty siblings that love each other just so much. As always with this author, great writing style, fantastic characterization, and hit me in the fucking feels.
(Seriously. Read everything by this author. Especially if you want good Erasermic and Todo-family fics).

I'm going to make an adult Scoobert Dooby Doo spin-off utilizing all members of Mystery Inc and throw in my own ideas.
Premise: a villain has kidnapped Scrappy Doo and the rest of the Doo clan. Yes, we're going to like Scrappy Doo by making him a cute puppy and yes we're going to ignore the last 20 years of Scrappy erasure.
The Doos are being guarded closely by "Monsters," and by "Monsters" I mean people that the Big Bad has gifted special costumes to that turn them into the monsters for as long as they wear the masks. The longer you wear it, the more humanity you lose. Also most of the villains are serial killers and corrupt people that the Big Bad has broken out, and they all have some grudge or another against Mystery Inc members.
As for the gang themselves, we're going to try to keep things truer to form, but I will drip some uniqueness to this iteration. For the record, they're in their late 20s now.
Fred: stressed dad friend but kind Himbo type. Also he's gay and his boyfriend is Alan M Mayberry- yes, the blond guy from Josey and the Pussy Cats. There's a recurring joke about people having trouble telling them apart. Alan is a talented folk singer on tour and still friends with his Co stars. Fred in this series is a car mechanic and has engineering experience as well, so he's the "Pimp my ride" type guy to add in all sorts of bullshit to cars (explaining why the MM is so suped up). He insists that ascots are "in" but they're not.
Daphne: Used to date Fred for a bit, then they realized they weren't really for each other and Fred eventually realized he was gay. Daphne is still supportive of him. She's into fashion and knows martial arts like usual, but also has a bit of a goofy side to her. She loves and supports her friends a lot and will absolutely be the "She asked for no pickles!" Person. There's also a gag that she's done some crimes- like freeing animals from a zoo, vandalizing cop cars, stealing all the left shoes of her previous ex, etc. Also is friends with the Hex Girls, and in college they- usually gets cut off by shenanigans but they absolutely fucked.
Velma: okay we're going to have fun with this bitch because I honestly find her boring or kinda bitchy in her later iterations. First off she's a bisexual, second of all she's sort of got the personality she had from A Pup Named Scooby Doo where she's quiet for the most part, solving things in the background, and a tech genius. She is very useless around pretty nerdy girls and handsome DILF types. Also, a running gag from the show is that she sometimes takes up part time work with other Mystery Solvers like the Clue Club, Fang Face, etc. She's very thoughtful of her friends and always remembers birthdays and such. Scooby is very protective of her. Absolutely has a shrine dedicated to waifus and husbandos, and she doesn't really care that her friends see it. She will kiss her picture of David Harbour and you can either get out or make it awkward for both of you by staring.
Shaggy: scaredy cat, food lover, basically mostly what we're familiar with- except everyone always accuses him of being a stoner. He's never touched a weed in his life because he made a promise to his grandma that he wouldn't. He's just REALLY into scooby snacks for some reason- Velma hypothesises it's because he has a few times more taste buds than average and can taste seasonings no normal person would ever detect. Shaggy is also a well known track star and gymnast, a ventriloquist, and he does improv sometimes with friends. He's a dense harem protagonist- he's straight, just dense af. He doesn't know why Madelyn (Velma's little sister from Abra Kadabra Doo) looks at him with big ol doe eyes, he doesn't get why the Hex Girls keep dedicating songs to him, he doesn't get why Tootie (Reluctant Werewolf) messages him at like 3 am with "U up?" And pictures of herself in cute outfits, thinks its neat that Bat Girl gave him her number once, got invited to be a roadie for spring break for Josie and the Pussy Cats- and this drives the others CRAZY because they all ALSO had crushes on him at some point and made it obvious af, but he's kinda dumb in that regard and so they moved on. He DID have a crush on a hippie girl, but she turned out to be an alien and he's still a little sore about it. Beloved family friend of the Doo clan and part of some chosen one prophecy handed down to them by the ages.
Scooby is here obviously. Everyone assumes Shaggy is the stoner but it's actually SCOOBY that smokes. For this series, Scooby and Shaggy both have the ability to utilize haunted costumes like the bad guys, but Scooby as a beast can remain in perfect control of himself as a man Shark, a demon, or whatever. He is still scared and dumb and a good luck type of clumsy of course, but he's also got some "adult cartoon" qualities. He's a convicted felon, he's a retired secret agent and has all sorts of weird connections, for some reason most celebrities know him, he's part of a Mystery Mascot Union with the likes of Speed Buggy, Jabber Jaw, Sebastion the Cat, etc, and he curses. Ruck you! Rhat da rell? Ritches ret stitches. The Doo clan sent him to live with Shaggy as a puppy as part of an exchange program, and then in Scooby's rebellious age he went off and did all sorts of shit. He's now a scaredy cat after some "incident" at the vet that he refuses to elaborate on, but he loves each of his friends dearly and will go feral for them if necessary. He makes scooby snack edibles and he's got some kids with a random dog, and works with the gang to make child support. Oddly enough, it took Scrappy Doo, his sister's kid, to make him realize he's been missing out on fatherhood.
And of course there's a running gag with Scrappy Doo, who sounds like Catbug now. He's adorable and is either adorably sad or doing puppy stuff like chasing his tail and breaking out of his prison.
Guest appearances by Flim Flam, Tootie, Vincent Van Ghoul, casts of various other Scooby clones, the Boo Brothers, Batman and friends, and of course each episode has one or two Doos, like Yabba Doo, Scooby Dum, Ruby Doo (Scrappy's mom), Skippy Doo, Uncle Horton Doo, and kids we're going to call Gooby, Zooby, and Tooby.
And the big bad? The big bad?
RED HERRING.

Sorry but I have to rant about this a bit. Not about your addition though! It's entirely about the Izzy canyon op's clear intentions with that post. You don't have to post this, I just need to get it out of my system. 😅
I just love how the canyon is trying to turn fans against Jenkins. Sorry canyon op, it was always a romcom and Ed and Stede were always a real love story. Jenkins might've changed his mind on some of the details, but it was always a queer romance. Every other one of the collected articles and quotes they helpfully linked shows that very clearly, so thanks for that canyon op.
Sorry again canyon op, but that one quote doesn't suddenly turn the show into a barely dodged queerbait either. A queer romance possibly not having a storybook happy ending in its original plan does not mean it's "not a real love story" or anything resembling queerbait. (somebody please take that word away from the internet, I am begging!) What it is is a sweet love story in a fun romcom and he even gave it a clear happily ever after ending intentionally in case they aren't renewed.
And yes, the cast's influence on their characters and their stories is awesome and wonderful and at Jenkins' suggestion. They wouldn't have been allowed even a tiny fraction of the freedom Jenkins gave them to shape their characters on most other shows. That actors, directors, writers, and showrunner could all work together so closely and so well to create this incredible show is very telling of the kind of showrunner Jenkins is and it's a rare one.
Jenkins may not be perfect, but that one quote doesn't suddenly make him less of an ally or any less amazing for putting this fun little queer as all hell show into our lives! It doesn't make the show any less joyful! I'd say it makes it more so for having this straight man, as good an ally as he is, see and realize what it would mean to people to have this thing and willfully change his plans to make it even better for us. He didn't have to give Ed and Stede such a wonderful ending this season and yet he did! He did it because he wants them, and us, to be happy.
I'm sorry your blorbo died, canyon op, but Jenkins is not "losing the other half of the fandom" now. The canyon aren't even half of the fandom to begin with! It's a very loud minority that I wish would just leave the rest of us to enjoy the show in peace instead of trying to turn us all against it. 😒
Lol - you know what’s hilarious? I honestly didn’t look at the source of that post. I’d heard some of this stuff before and was like “oh, yeah, it sounds like Jenkins changed focus and it worked really well!” Because…that’s the nature of art, especially a collaborative art like film and TV, and it seems clear that other writers, the performers, etc. all helped to shift focus, and Jenkins himself saw the potential and went with it, even likely listened to the queer people on the show to help guide it. Which is…normal and good?
I dunno what this show might do for season 3, and it’s perfectly possible that they sacrifice good will for some strange narrative about-face, but that will have fuck-all to do with Izzy actually being the main character and everything to with…everything else on the show.
In regard to the whole weird Izzy discourse…I barely poked my head into this fandom during the first season, but obviously have done a lot more than that now. And I was immediately just confused by the cadre who seem to think Izzy was the main character. You mean…the angry homophobic white dude who tried to kill one of our leads multiple times and then sent our other lead into a suicidal spiral by telling him to stop acting so gay? THAT dude? Isn’t he, like, the villain?
I dig what they managed with Izzy and I was so happy to actually care about him instead of just hating him, but his narrative function is to advance the Stede/Ed relationship. He’s less independent, narratively, than most of the Revenge crew. His death was sad and it made sense. * shrugs*
I’m still honestly a bit concerned that ANYONE looked at Izzy in Season 1 and went “that’s my guy!” That’s…disturbing, my dudes.

(Warning: this is going to be a long long post)
[To make my life easier, I'm going to use "fanbase" to mean fans as a collective, and "fandom" to indicate those who are involved in shipping. Yes, I know that shipping isn't the only thing that makes up a fandom, but I need a quick way to differentiate between the two things, hence that "to make my life easier". Love and peace]
I've been spending a little more time on twitter these days just to witness the state of bnha discourse there (am I using it though? Ah! You'll never have me, hellsite [derogatory]), and man. It's genuinely... puzzling? Somewhat impressive, in a bad way? That such big portion of the fanbase appears to be completely unwilling to engage with anything that isn't surface level conflict, and completely disregards thematic elements, parallelisms, patterns...
Not that it's inherently wrong to be more interested in the fights, to want more action-based scenes or anything like that, and obviously it's not like bnha is the damned Divine Comedy, but the thing is, these are people who actively antagonize anyone who does talk about the [previously mentioned things] that it does have, and who do so in a scornful manner? What. Hello. I mean, shounen fans in general don't have the best reputation within manga/anime communities as it is, but to think that it has gotten this bad in there...
From my understanding things have turned especially sour in the past few months, but I do know that it has always been a thing. It was an eternity ago, but just to say one I still remember how a lot of people were genuinely convinced that Bakugou would indeed join the villains back when he had been kidnapped because... he has a bad attitude and is aggressive... When during the exam with Midoriya and All Might not long before that the audience was explicitly told what his objectives were, why he acted the way that he did, etc. Again, the problem isn't strictly that these people misunderstand things, but that they act like they know better and are so smart when canon (and theories by fandom swamp dwellers, but I'll get to this later*) has contradicted them again and again.
I'm going to half-recycle another post I made real quick. I know that to an external person it may look like I'm making up a Guy Type so that I can be mad at him, but well. It is a fact that the portion of the fanbase that I'm referring to is largely made up of young, straight men who invalidate the opinions of anyone who isn't like them, and that these guys are also very quick to turn to all sorts of bigotry whenever they have the chance, which... isn't a new thing obviously, but the thing with these guys is that oftentimes they're youtubers with a following, which can result in very nasty things. And after having had the displeasure of reading certain things, I do wonder why these men are even reading bnha anymore, what they're expecting out of it. It was obviously never going to be the dark manga that they wanted it to become. Midoriya was never going to be an ambiguous, emotionally distant protagonist. Bakugou was never going to remain a big, bad bully.
Recycling another post of mine again, but 💀 it literally is like this. Sorry for the bad screenshot but I don't want to worsen the length of this post too much lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And speaking of Bakugou, something that at first really threw me off when I first exposed myself to this side of the fanbase (to the Dudebros™) is how vehemently they hate him. It's funny, because on paper he is most things that they've always wanted Midoriya to be. He's sure of himself, stronger than most since the beginning, has drive, is cool, isn't wHiNy. And then I began reading things like "all the teen girls and women in their 20s in this community care about is their stupid anime boy and their baseless gay ship" and I was like "Ah. It's one of those cases". And I don't like playing armchair psychologist, but from the way they're obsessed with bringing up his past bullying, and from how they talk about him in general, I do also think that they project hard onto Midoriya, whom they perceive as "the victim", "the underdog", hence why they wish he hated Bakugou, why they play down how important they are for each other, maybe why they refuse to accept the emotional weight of certain scenes and narrative choices.
And to tie back into *what I said earlier, this attitude that they have towards Bakugou, the way they act like he isn't a pivotal character (he's the damn co-star on set ffs), how they constantly and purposefully misunderstand him has had very funny outcomes, in which: they say A; the fandom (among which are the aforementioned brainless girls and women) says B; in the time that it takes for a chapter to come out, the dudebros revel in their perceived superiority; Horikoshi ends up delivering B, or as close to B as it could have been; ✨️the dudebros have a meltdown✨️, mayhaps they even have the bright idea of sending some death threats to Horikoshi himself here and there; repeat. And obviously the fandom has its own unlikely theories too, but in the case of these guys we're talking consistent levels of flopping, of completely misreading the manga and the characters. But no, it's the teen girls and the women who are stupid and ruin the fanbase with their disgusting gay🤢🤮 shipping (and any queer fan too, obviously 🙄, do any of you not know that shounen manga is supposed to be for us manly straight men who like pussy and want to see blood and guts 🙄) (why are you even still reading bnha if you're looking for that???)
The unfortunate coincidence that has made all of this worse was that, just as most people in the fandom like Bakugou and most dudebros dislike him, most dudebros like Uraraka and most people in the fandom... dislike her? Nope, not even that! (Un)surprisingly, there aren't many people around who express negative things about Uraraka herself. What I did read? Criticism (very understandable criticism, criticism that I fully agree with) of Horikoshi's writing, wishes that she had been given more agency, that she had been treated like the prominent supporting character that she is in a dignified way and not just as the mc's token future wife... Mhhh. Funny that. Funny also that most of this criticism indeed comes from women, who in turn are told that they should just shut up and stop complaining. :)
And wouldn't it be even funnier if the two characters that the fanbase is split over were both shipped with the mc, creating an even more polarised environment. :). And it's frustrating that it all circles back to that, izuocha isn't fandom-popular because people generally bring up its one-sidedness and the fact that Uraraka's feelings for Midoriya did have a negative impact on her growth, bakudeku isn't dudebro-popular because, and I'm listing things that I have literally read: it's gay and Midoriya and Bakugou aren't gay (a classic, an evergreen. Fresh); Bakugou abused Midoriya; Midoriya and Bakugou think of each other like brothers (note the paradox here); it's "sexualising children" (but shipping izuocha isn't?).
So Fun. Not one thing to not love in here 👍
Going back to Bakugou a second, but at this point it isn't even funny to read certain comments anymore for just how stupid they are. Bakugou dudebros pov encouraging him to win, keeping his secrets, wanting him to look at me, helping him train, constantly worrying for him, saving his life by risking mine, knowing him better than anyone else, apologising to him, being the closest person to him, acting like and thinking about him before possibly dying because I hate him 💢😠👊
And I mean, like I said lots of guys say things like these because 1) of projection and refusal to move on from the bully version of him from the earliest part of the story; 2) he's largely liked by female fans and Women Bad; 3) it's an extension of the bakudeku/izuocha ship war (🙄), but this pettiness and desire to be contrary for no good reason at all do leave me ??? Like, just how incapable of reading are you willing to make yourself look just because of how immature you are (if you are indeed faking it instead of the worse scenario, which is you not even misreading things on purpose but being that bad at it...)

The Eclipse Ep 8 Stray Thoughts
The BL Summer '22 High School Extravaganza continues with my boys with the most external and internalized homophobia. I hope Kan and Thua talk this week, because I have been holding my breath for a week.
Ah yes, the boat that reportedly almost killed Khaotung and First. They definitely won't kiss here just because of the logistics.
First and Khaotung are absolutely gorgeous. I called the About Youth and Love in the Air casts the prettiest boys, but I find the Eclipse cast to be extremely attractive too.
Akk has to reject this kiss because it's in the open, but damn did he clearly want to. I've seen some commentary about how people like First in his other roles more, and while I don't want to rank his performances, I want to challenge viewers to pay attention to the details of Akk's physicality. He's not afraid of Ayan. He's intensely aware of his desires, and only ever stops Ayan at the line. It's so intentional, and Khaotung and First are absolutely in sync when they play together.
But also, Akk, my guy, you can't be dreaming like that about him and then rejecting him in the moment.
Oh, look at Ayan calling out the way Akk responded to his advances. Akk is really such a sad and terrifying character. He understands exactly what Ayan is saying to him about his right to love, and his response that, "I choose not to do it," hurts. Akk isn't Kan, who knows but needs someone to validate him. Akk is self-actualized, which makes his decision to be closeted even sadder.
I'm sorry to Khaotung, but I skip the intro for this show.
Ayan asking to borrow underwear in unhinged, and I suspect he asked for it just to startle Akk and mess with his sense of propriety.
Honestly, Ayan might be the most attractive GMMTV BL lead we've had since Kongpob for me. I like a character who knows exactly who he is and pulls that out of other people.
Ayan putting Akk's hands on his face is going to make me implode. He's saying, "This is how I like to be touched. Can you do it?" He tells Akk how he adores him and asks if he can kiss him, and reassures Akk that he can revoke it. I love Ayan so much.
This is a great plot kiss. It's a kiss that is pleading for more. Ayan wants so much from and for Akk, and it's no surprise that Akk has to break the spell. He can't give this much to Ayan. There isn't enough room in his heart and life for what Ayan wants. The world is too loud. It's why Akk can't be seen with Ayan in public.
Absolutely fantastic work from everyone in involved in that bedroom scene. Bravo.
Namo you are violating the rules of friendship. We don't collect blackmail on boys weekend.
Thua is here, and this is where my heart breaks. Kan has to slam the door closed again, and this is why I was kinda cool on my praise for the tent scene. It is a great scene, but this is what I know. In the daytime, we can never acknowledge what happened. I will not be surprised when Thua enters his villain era.
Oh lord this preview gonna make me link the Fosters again!
The pinky touch continues to belong to the gays!!!! New modification: Ayan being a little shit to Akk.
Oh, Neo. That annoyed blink Kan threw at Wat was great.
"What your parents made is so good," is an incredible double meaning, holy shit. "Well, it's usually good." Falls out of my chair.
Four boys squeezed into the back seat of a car? Definitely high school.
I just don't know how I'm supposed to read Thua's stepdad. He challenges Chadok, derides the curse as nonsense, then reveals he was targeted as a student by Chadok.
These socks always looks uncomfortable on these boys.
Chadok is such a villain. Every time he touches Akk I am thrown back to The Gifted.
Thua's smirk any time he susses out anything about Kan is absolutely perfect. This is a good role for Louis, too.
Wat is still trying to keep an eye on Ayan, but Kan is totally past that. Ayan supports his feelings for Thua, so Ayan is an ally.
Akk's involuntary smile at Ayan's voice. Yep, this episode is going to do something tragic at the end.
The teacher makes a homophobic remark about Kanlong, and Wat and Akk immediately look at each other. We all know!
Chadok has an informant. Is it Namo?
Yeah, I'm not keen on Namo.
It's hard losing someone you care for to suicide. The confusion and loss lingers for decades. I get Ayan's mom's concerns that Aye might be in danger following in his uncle's wake.
Ayan is relentless on flirting with Akk. What's he gonna do when he catches him?
Oh ho, the journal was in the office. What role does Thua play in this?
As we head into the final third, I'm dreading new horrors inflicted upon the World Remembers.

HOT D continues to impress and depress me
First off, applauding at how they completely reject the “Kill Your Gays” trope and have Laenor straight up (gay up?) fake his death and run away. Although personally I always pictured Daemon being the one behind it somehow. Then again, the show also changed Rhea’s death to be Daemon killing her, so the whole unjust spousal murder still occurs, just differently.
While some show changed have been really bad, some changes have been really good. This episode was no exception.
The Good:
Aemond claiming Vhagar was a beautiful scene and the music made it feel even more epic. I liked that whole little montage.
Most of the characters continue to be more nuanced and interesting than their book selves. Then again, personally I find that to be a pretty low bar. I love Martin’s work, the Dance not so much.
While I dislike Alicent trying to stab Rhaenyra (see “the bad”) the dialogue there is incredible. Alicent feeling that Rhaenyra is entitled and being angry at the injustice of everything feels real.
Rhaenyra and Daemon embracing ruling through fear. Yes, give me morally gray characters!
The ????:
Did we really need that whole closeup of Rhaenyra and Daemon fucking? I was already grossed out when they did it while she was underage and he was grooming her.
Rhaenyra being fine with Laenor being gay is an odd choice, given how in the books she appears to be outright homophobic, saying that Laenor would prefer her brothers (who were under 10 years old)...
I continue to be critical of the clear bias toward the Greens. I find multifaceted characters more interesting. While I do think they did a good job with Alicent’s backstory and I don’t think her growing up to be the way she is now is too illogical, I’d prefer if she showed more skill in diplomacy, which after all is supposed to be something she’s better at than Rhaenyra and work in the Greens’ favor. Aemond being cruel is accurate to his book character, but I felt it was excessive even for his standards when he tried to kill Jacaerys with a rock and threatened to feed Laena’s children to Vhagar. While not outright villainous by medieval standards, Otto and Alicent slapping Aegon II feels really bad. We never see Rhaenyra do the same to her sons, even when Lucerys straight out stabs Aemond’s eye out. Aegon II has yet to get any real redeeming traits, other than possibly that he didn’t ask for any of this. I hope they expand on that. At the same time it makes the conflict feel weaker when he doesn’t actually want to rule and is just a puppet. Despite this however, I still feel more for Aegon II in the show than I did while reading the books. All of this however is a matter of opinion and taste, so it sticks closer to “????” than outright bad.
The Bad:
You’re telling me that Aemond just 1v4 Jacaerys, Lucerys, Rhaena and Baela? This is bullshit. The fact that he was able to fight back at all and was almost able to kill Lucerys was ridiculous. It’s 4 against 1, they’re all the same age and should be of approximately the same strength.
Alicent walking up to go stabby stab on Rhaenyra is completely out of character, even for Book Alicent who was completely unsympathetic. This feels more like post-Dance Alicent, who was traumatized and mentally ill, screaming at 10 year old Jaehaera to stab her husband. Not even Cersei did this when Joffrey was maimed!
Also, Viserys just stands there while Rhaenyra is bleeding out? Wtf?
Aemond saying his line AFTER all this has happened?
Otto is totally fine with Alicent ruining her reputation and stabbing the crown princess? Despite the fact that her looking like a lunatic gives them a bad reputation and lowers the chance of Aegon II getting approval from the smallfolk and the other nobles? If you wanted Otto to be impressed by a show of ruthlessness, Alicent requesting a literal eye for an eye would be enough.
