lyfrassir edda tried to cut their hair after the bifrost incident. hair and the meaning it holds had been a common thread in the multitude of cultures that comes with 9 inhabited worlds in one star system, and one thing that had been a given in nearly every single one was you don't wear braids when you're grieving. you don't wear rings or ribbons or gems, you don't wear any ornamentation. for a long time it was taboo to even pull it back in a ponytail except for the most strenuous of tasks. and you don't cut it unless you've lost it all. which, of course, they have. so they take a pair of scissors they found in a toolbox and cut the whole tangled mess of it off their head over the sink. it's ragged and uneven and they feel exposed without it, but if this is the only way left to honor their vanished world then so be it. or that's what they thought. that night as they wake from yet another nightmare that leaves them gasping at the brink of tears they feel that familiar weight spilling down their shoulders and back. they don't try again. they do try to forget about it, push it from their mind through sheer force of will but they can't explain it away. and they can't ignore the fact that the gray streaks in their still-long hair grow thicker by the day. and it looks less and less like true gray than a multitude of colors and shades dulled to a neutral tone by sheer numbers. they are changing and it won't let them cut their hair.

But, yeah, it’s a melancholy nightmare to say the least for most of it. Hikari always finds a way to go through so much suffering-self inflicted or otherwise.

It was cold that night; the starless sky resembled more of a pitch black abyss, staring back at the eyes that gaze upon it. The skies of the new world...

The new world was a mysterious place; the uncanny resemblance it bore with Ygdrassil was startling and unsettling to most who had suddenly appeared there. Yet this world was so different from their home at the same time.

This new world was ruled by humans; it was a shock to most if not all the denizens of Nazarick. Though one sought the knowledge and wisdom of his most trusted and respected supreme one.

                                                  

"Demiurge... when you think of humans, what comes to mind?"

The demon king asked him; his massive form perched atop the disguised tomb as his piercing gaze stayed glued to the night sky.

The arch-devil took his eyes from the sky to give a side glance to the elder demon. He was flattered that his idol of all people would ask for his view on any subject at all; it made him feel quite giddy, he must say.

"Humans... They are weak; most definitely. However they pose a great opportunity in the bolstering of Nazarick's numbers. So, in a way they do have some use to them."

The elder demon chuckled at his underlings response; he hadn't gotten the point if the question, had he? [Name] now flickered his gaze to his left, locking eyes with the arch-devil as he gave the bespectacled man a relaxed grin.

"That is not what I asked, young one. I want to know how you personally see humans in your eyes. What are they to you?"

Demiurge was disappointed in himself for misunderstanding the supreme being's question. He was supposed to be the most intelligent being in Nazarick, just under the Supreme Beings, yet he couldn't grasp a simple question. How impotent of him.

"Hummn... Humans are... Humans are worms."

The elder demon turns his body towards his servant, urging him to continue speaking. Demiurge glances at the Demon King once before respectfully averting his eyes once again.

"They are lesser beings, sniveling insects beneath the feet of the heteromorphic races; weak, feeble and unproductive. That, to me, is what humans are."

The gargantuan man belts out a loud hardy laugh, bringing his arm up to give the arch-devil a friendly bit painfully strong slap on the back, causing the smaller demon to lurch forward from the force, knocking his glasses to the tip of his nose. [Name]'s laugh slowly trickle down into a light chuckle as he shakes his head, his long mane of h/c hair swaying with the motion.

"Hahaha.... ah.. I knew you'd say that, Young One."

The elder demon speaks gently, seemingly almost relieved at his response. His massive form leans over a bit as he places his hand and places it atop Demiurge's head, sloppily ruffling his slicked back hair and jostling his head around.

It was moments like these that Demiurge felt he was undeserving of. He never understood how a being so powerful and all-knowing as the Demon King could be so loving and fatherly to such an insignificant being such as himself. Amazed couldn't even come close to how the arch-devil felt in the supreme being's presence.

Demiurge never knew an undead demonic being could have such a godly presence before now.

And gods... it was so beautiful.

Anyways, something that still confuses me: why a stag? I don't remember stags being significant in the stories of the Wild Hunt I know. So, let's see:

I first started by reading about stags in Norse mythology. The first I found were Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór, the stags that eat among the branches of Ygdrassil, the world tree. This originally didn't seem connected, given that it's 4 stags and that they're not really connected with the Wild Hunt, but 2 things:

1) In an influencial work, Finnur Magnússon suggested that the 4 stags actually represent the winds. Remember, the howling wind is an important part of the Wild Hunt

2) It's actually theorized that there was originally only one stag (potentially thought to be Eikþyrnir)

Who's Eikþyrnir? Another stag of course! He's said to stand upon Valhalla and also eat from Ygdrassil, though I can't find any connections to the Wild Hunt with him

But is there anything else? I decided to look through some Wild Hunt sources, because who knows, there might be a stag somewhere after all, or at least something I missed in the past

The first interesting thing I found is this:

'Another class of specters...'? How interesting... (This is definitely just a coincidence lol)

Next up:

Definitely a stretch, but potentially more reasons why Lenore and (if we are to believe this new episode) Annabel Lee could be targeted?

For the rest? Sadly, not much. (Also I'm suprisingly tired so I'm gonna try to wrap this up)

Another stag I found out about though, is the white stag. It's a common and just overall good/holy figure throughout medieval folklore, and killing them is a big nono

Oh boy where do I begin with this one

First off its a bit long second it's stupid event but undoubtedly funny and Third Some character here are like acting way out of character

But anyway let's start

So we start with the Uhh what should I call them Amberdon Head Trio? Yeah that's it arriving in the event

Jalam of course complaining about how stupid the event Verdancia is plotting meanwhile Zacharoff find it Fascinating that Verdancia was able to keep warm all tnx to their Lair "Ygdrassil" heck it's magic might be even more advanced than any other nation

But Hybris told Zacharoff to lay off the research and enjoy the event with Jalam since technically this is their "Honeymoon"

Hybris was surprised at how generous Azmond is for giving away part of his land as the prize for this event. He asks Zacharoff if he wants the prize cause Hybris surely wants it and he's wondering what's their Plan to win the tournament(Something that won't upset Elaine so probably Shenanigans involving Demon sex or brainwashing sex lol)

Jalam said to just go all out on Verdancia on a head to head combat and he aims to win using his own method

Germanic dragon. How we feeling about those.

Germanic dragons (also called worms) are a type of European dragon originating from Germanic mythology, including Norse, Anglo-Saxon, and Continental Germany. They are typically depicted as large venomous serpents, such as Wyrms and Lindworms, though later myths feature more similarities to typical western dragons.

Examples of Germanic dragons include but are not limited to:

Níðhöggr, the serpent from Norse Mythology that gnaws at the roots of Ygdrassil

Jörmungandr, the Midguard serpent and child of Loki

The dragon from Beowulf

Fáfnir, a dragon from Germanic legend, depicted in Norse mythology having been turned into a dragon by Andvari's cursed ring

Germanic serpents breathing poison predates the ideas of them breathing fire, the dragon in Beowulf being one of the earliest examples of a fire breathing dragon.

They are often depicted on old runestones and churches.

The one silver lining, if you will, is that they literally put him in "GOD MODE" and he's in charge of all the timelines. The big Ygdrassil tree at the end was a nice touch. and yes he finally got his throne...

but then no one will ever know what he did and that he was the one who saved them...

She is not the reader, but the book, a library of books, each waiting its turn on the dusty shelves of an endless archive, centuries in the building." Because of her cybernetic brain, she can very accurately predict probabilities, but she remembers her past as a "catalogues of names, lists of dates, archived footage in the library of her head"--she can recall all the facts, but she not the emotions connected to them. She eventually tries to retire and spends her final centuries on a small library planet, until the library burns in a pointless war; she dies launching an escape pod, piled high with ancient texts that scholars will one day say were actually quite a dull read--which means she is committed to preserving knowledge even if it's boring. She’s the one who interviewed the other Mechanisms for their profiles on the band’s website. According to her official story "Archive Footage": "the present, she sees, she hears, she touches, tastes, smells, feels: that is what the present is for, the moment that is the only moment, the only experience, that she must absorb every facet of, because it is the one, the only now. There is no past but the chronicles, no future to speak of: there is only now, and she lives it to its fullest and is glad of it." Cecil Palmer (Welcome to Night Vale) "I know he won last time, but I honestly think he deserves it.
