That voice, Skye couldn't help but think with a significant measure of affection, was lower than she'd initially expected, but as warm as early spring. It was a perfect reflection of the steady beat of the woman's heart; of the way the same scenery before her was a different view than the one Skye herself saw; of the way she absorbed things and then responded more than reacted, dampening situations rather than adding to the flames as Skye so often did.

May glanced over her shoulder at the sudden silence, and had to swallow a chuckle at the sight of her tiny girl taking such care to step only in May's own footprints, eyes fixed on the sand and a smile of quiet pleasure dancing upon her lips.

Skye was so easily amused. It was cute — and cuter still that quite literally walking in May's footsteps was what delighted her so.

but yeah i make connections to media i feel is so obscure on tumblr dot com like barely anyone interacted with the post i made about revalink au based off of the k-drama 'goblin' because probably no one in these spheres really watches k-drama 😭😭 i think one oomf rb'd knowing exactly what i was talking about but it's like COME ON GUYS IMAGINE THIS SCENE WITH REVALI AS THE GUY AND LINK AS THE GIRL AND LINK PULLING OUT THE SWORD AND [redacted because spoilers if you haven't watched the drama ㅠㅠ]

just the other day i was thinking about an orpheus!revali x eurydice!link au because i was listening to 'wait for me' from the musical 'hadestown'. what about a percy jackson au with revali as a son of apollo who resents link because he gets claimed by a powerful god that no one would have ever guessed would have children. i have part of a scene drafted in my informal-concepting style of a fucking writer!link x editor!revali au. i cannot stress to you enough how insane and Not Normal i am about these two, i will stretch so far to make every connection to revalink i can, i might just get a little taller!

BUT TEEHEE i'm hoping i can get That™ Revalink fic out on time for revalink week 🥺 i stopped writing it for a bit because i got some writer's block and i felt like i was putting too much Plot for a oneshot, but we'll see how it goes! i planned some other stuff based on the prompts, but with the way this semester is going, i doubt i'll be able to write full-fledged oneshots on time for each of them so i may end up just uploading them later on after the semester is over (late may, june, etc)

LOL to that last bit, idk....... i've spent so much time on stan twitter and the internet in general i've developed a very particular way of talking. i'm someone who, if you say a certain word or phrase around me enough, i'll start adding it to my vocabulary without really thinking. like the reason why i type 'not' and 'sorry' as 'nawt' and 'sawry' sometimes? my stan twitter bestie lele (i'm not gonna tag her but she's on here as well i know ur seeing this bff i love u sm). how sometimes my emoji usages are random? also partly lele and other stan twitter mutuals who liked to use random emojis that had nothing to do with the topic because it was funny. i feel like the way i type things online expresses exactly the tone and flow i would use irl too 🤞😽

ok thank you for indulging me @karmaicperfection 😭😭😭 i started answering this and then got IMMEDIATELY interrupted for like a good solid hour but anyways. obviously this is like spitballing concepts for an au but i think the easiest way to take this is frankly just . incredibly adjacent to your lie in april (an anime which, if you have not seen, you should absolutely 10000000% go watch because im clinically insane about it and it is quite possibly my most favorite anime other than one piece . speaking of i should rewatch it again soon. anyways) except without the romance (which like. To Be Honest i think ylia would have done better without but WHATEVERRRR i suppose the romance is the hook for the average viewer) and obviously adjusted for character dynamics.

so obviously manfred is like world famous virtuoso classical pianist, born a prodigy baby, got private tutoring from some insanely famous pianist, and never lost a competition - plays always 1000000% to the score and never deviates an inch and to even entertain the idea is nothing short of heretical. since generally competitions are going to be judged by how perfectly the pianist plays, manfred always wins even if somebody else has a more interesting or frankly better interpretation of the piece. the main problem here is how the heck he's supposed to cheat since the thing with piano competitions and performances is like you either know the piece or you dont you cant cheat on that so maybe he's just like bribing the judges to favor perfection as opposed to their personal preference. i think he'd be a huge tchaikovsky & rachmaninoff & chopin kind of guy like tell me the revolutionary is not EXACTLY the kind of thing manfred would be playing (like those ending chords ??? you cannot tell me you cant just see him going absolutely ham)

naturally then gregory is another world famous virtuoso classical pianist, but instead of following the score 1:1 he puts a lot more emphasis on personal interpretation - he's very very popular with the people, but in competitions he's always divisive with the judges since some of them are real sticklers for sticking to the dynamics written on the page while others are more open to whatever he's doing. im thinking his taste probably falls more under beethoven & bach & mozart & chopin. i guess during some competition he somehow finds out that a few of the judges were being bribed & reveals this to the public and the Elevator Incident goes as per canon.

miles is like eight i think at that point so he's been taking piano for a few years but since when youre like eight your hands really arent big enough to be playing anything terribly hard, gregory's influence hasnt been set in stone yet - manfred obviously begins imparting the "The Score Is Absolute" mentality onto him. i think he'd also be a lot more strict on teaching music theory (something admittedly i never actually learned like anything about because i was huuuuuge brat and blatantly refused to do the workbooks my teacher gave me and i guess she just gave up 😭😭😭) than gregory. as far as miles' personal preferences go i think hed like chopin & debussy & tchaikovsky & bach. franziska is obviously also baby prodigy girl - she's absurdly competitive and very much a "practicing 8 hours a day minimum" kind of girl. her preferences are anything loud fast and difficult (1) more fun to play 2) gives her the opportunity to show off 3) much more rewarding upon mastery) so very very much a beethoven & rachmaninoff & chopin kind of girl, but also i think miles would give her an appreciation for slower & more sensitive pieces

anyways so i guess in this au phoenix would also be a WAIT LOLLLL hes already a pianist in canon. sorry the fact that that stupid pub he works in literally has a steinway baby grand in it and all phoenix does is complain about having to play it like. grabs you. throws you to the side. scoot over and let me PLAYYYYYYYYYYY .anwyays. anyways ok this is literally the premise of your lie in april but i guess phoenix was inspired to take up piano after hearing miles play when he was like 7 at some school talent show thing and like keeps tabs on him as he rises through the piano world but is distraught to find out miles has abandoned the art of actual interpretation in favor of sticking religiously to the script and through competitions teaches him the value of making the piece truly yours to impart some actual message and feeling to the audience instead of playing like a robot. of course this au isnt about him so thats like all im going to say on that

wait oh theres a problem here. if manfred kills gregory how in the world does that get resolved . ummmmmmm . hm. ok whatever lets just table that for now its not important. actually objectively the funniest way for this au to go is to give it the exact same amount of murder and melodrama and stakes as in the normal series except everybodys a pianist for some reason. this is incredibly tangential im getting wildly off track here but like klavier has the exact same huge fanbase of hormonal teenage girls except hes just like playing schumann. godot is like a jazz pianist that they keep letting enter into these classical piano competitions for some reason. the detectives are their accompanists? many thoughts. okay side tangent over lets get back to the main point here

franziska's arc in aa2 would probably still be the same re: even after manfred's gone she still sticks rigidly to the dynamics written on the score to the point of technical perfection, but completely lacking in personal emotion & interpretation - phoenix's repeated wins over her not due to his sticking to the score but rather to the brilliancy of his interpretations keep rooting up the beliefs that have been absolutely ingrained into her from birth, and miles helps her realize that to be honest actually having something to say when playing a piece is an artistic improvement over being The Most Accurate To The Score. and now i just want to draw everybody at the piano

I've been thinking about it as a slightly altered college AU—neither Jean nor Pieck major in music, but both of them are musically inclined and meet because of it. Jean comes across Pieck randomly playing the melodica somewhere in campus, gets curious, and starts talking to her. Along the way, Pieck finds out that Jean's a former piano prodigy who quit because of a traumatic event (I assume Marco's death).

Eventually they end up falling in love...but it ends the same way as YLIA does 🥲

I've kinda been wanting to write something angsty like this, but also I have 10,000 other WIPs to work on (plus OOML 12) so 😭 Idk, maybe one day, but not any time soon 😭

He looked back down at Georgi to realize that he actually had brought the mop he’d asked for, the broom and dustpan were propped against a nearby wall. At least he’d given Victor an opening for more pleasant conversation.

“I’m surprised you found the cleaning supplies,” he said, smirking, “I guess they were closer to the microwave than I thought.”

Georgi blinked up at him, looking confused before his lips curved into a smile. “So quick to doubt me, Victor! I wouldn’t be so rude to put myself before my host’s less important needs.”

He laughed, “Just get the coffee off my floor, you nut.”

Be More Chill; Your Lie In April

Jeremy Heere seems to be an average high school student nowadays, but when he was younger he was nothing of the average.

Jeremy was a child prodigy on the piano, achieving greater scores than people over twice his age. He practiced under his late father Squip, who extremely abused him for every slight mess up. This left Jeremy with many scares and trust issues, and once he passed Jeremy stopped playing the piano altogether. Everything caught up to him, and he couldn't hear the notes when he played.

He's two and only friends are Jake, a baseball player who he's known since childhood, and Rich, a lady's man who can get with any person he wants.

One day Jake convinces Jeremy to come with him to meet a boy who had a crush on Rich. Jake said he didn't want to be the third wheel and Jeremy finally conceded, going to the park after school. He meet a boy, who was quick to get angry with him as he took a photo accidentally right when the wind blew his dress up.

This boy was the one who liked Rich. His name was Michael, and he and everyone else was ready to go watch him perform in a violin contest. This got Jeremy's anxiety to act up since he hasn't been back in the area since his father passed.

Michael was beautiful on stage, and Jeremy could feel a crush growing. But, he was just Friend A, not the one Michael loved. Michael was inspired by Jeremy though, and he kept on asking and asking for Jeremy to play the piano with him.

Jeremy went to go play, but the notes fell away. Michael didn't give up though, not caring and just wanting to play with Jeremy. He wanted to play with Friend A.

The two became closer and closer, Michael seeming a bit impulsive at times but still captivating Jeremy. But still, Jeremy was just Friend A. Michael asked him to play again, but Michael seemed to be acting differently. And one day, he passed out.

Worried, Jeremy kept going to check on Michael, but he was always just Friend A. And it didn't matter, Michael would be better anyways.

But, he wasn't getting better, he stayed in bed and broke down in front of Jeremy, asking Jeremy to kill himself with him.

Jeremy truly loved Michael, and he had to play, for him. Michael was going in for an operation, even though the chances will still so small for a survival. He lived his life truly. He knew this was the last chance anyway.

So that night when Jeremy played, Michael went under and never woke up. He left Jeremy a letter, a letter to Friend A. But, Jeremy believed he would never open it. Opening it would mean admitting Michael was gone.

That next April, the letter fell out of Jeremy's bag one day, and he finally got the will to read what was inside. It was a beautifully written letter, but what changed Jeremy's life the most of it, was when Michael admitted his lie. When he admitted that he never actually loved Rich, his eyes were always on someone else, even from the start.

His eyes were always on Friend A.
