Torture: Has your OC ever been tortured? Would your OC ever torture someone else?

Not sure if she would call it torture, but the whole Nexus experience was definitely something. Being thrown literally and figuratively thrown to the wolves to fend for yourself at a very young age can definitely be hard. After that instance, though, she would usually be on the other side of that spectrum. So yes! She has tortured people and would do so again if Mama required. It doesn’t come up often, but in order to get info out of people she will resort to torture.

Wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?

She does NOT like being wounded. Since she relates her worth to how well she can assist Mama or fight for her, an injury that disrupts that makes her very upset. She gets little injuries often (scratches, bruises, some sprains or small breaks), but Mama’s medical staff are great healers so that’s not a problem for her. Mental and emotional wounds absolutely ABOUND with her, she just doesn’t recognize or handle them. That will be a great project for Dr. Feelings. The worst wound she’s experienced is her shoulder injury. When Draxum’s lab burned originally, her shoulder got injured. When Mama took her in, she had some healers patch her up, but the injury was pretty bad. Her arm was literally barely hanging on. That being said, her arm got fixed to be usable, but it still gave her a little trouble. Then in the Nexus, she sustained a mystic blast to the same shoulder which made it so much worse. The medics did all they could, but it’s not a good time. She has to do these mystic treatments daily, along with powering through any discomfort.

Secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

That her responsibility of saving the yokai from the human threat scares her sometimes

Nightmare: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself?

Gotta be selectively vague here… she often has nightmares about being on the run and about her past. She deals with it by trying to make some alchemical potions to help (it doesn’t do much bc she is just making stuff up). And she doesn’t tell anyone because there is no one to tell. Plus she’s supposed to be a hero, the symbol of strength and resilience. She’s not afraid of things, especially dreams. If she had the chance, she probably wouldn’t talk about it much.

Skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?

Megan is pretty comfortable with herself, at least at first. After the situation where she was controlled and made to attack her friends, she is always scared of hurting them. If she thinks about it too much, she’ll become self-loathing and very self-destructive. She mimics the punishment she received on the ship, so she will hurt herself or withhold vital stuff from herself (like food or water or friends). It’s a fun time and she doesn’t handle it well. Just very very guilty.

Pain: What's the worst pain your OC has ever felt? Do they have a high pain tolerance?

Hehehe are we talking physical or emotional? Physically, it was when she got tortured after some of the volunteers/prisoners escaped. They thought she knew about it and tried to break her. If it didn’t work on her, they figured that Ivan (who was watching and very protective of his friends) would tell them what he knew. Emotionally… well that’s a bit of a secret, but it’s a very important part of the story I’ll probably do something with soon. It shall be referred to as the incident and had a big effect on everyone. She has a pretty high pain tolerance overall due to lots of testing and physical enhancements.

Alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

Baby boy hates being alone. He’s pretty dependent on other people and has a touch of people pleaser in him, so he places a lot of his worth in what others think of him. Unfortunately for him, he has had to be completely alone a bunch. He left home and cut off his parents because they were awful to him, but didn’t know many other people. He spent awhile trying to figure out a living situation and job with no support system. He started working with an agency that helped get people out of the alien hunting program/Megan spaceship (bc they trapped people there). In that time, he became surrounded by coworkers and friends and stuff, so he was doing good. He acts the same as he does with people around, if not a little less energized.

Hide: What does your OC hide? Why do they hide it?

He hides his problems and past, plus some mistakes he made when he was younger. He’s upset that he did those things and doesn’t want to be judged by that because he’s changed.

Heartbreak: Have they ever had a relationship that ended badly? Experienced some other kind of heartbreak? What happened?

For right now, he hasn’t experienced a romantic heartbreak. However. The incident was very difficult for him and he holds a lot of resentment. And I’d love to say what happened, but I have to hold off for now…… >:]

Mistake: What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on?

Tagging onto the above, would be trusting in that heartbreak situation, but more broadly, joining the program thing. He joined because he wanted to feel in control of something in his life and this was the first thing he saw. He could get paid to live in space and hunt aliens? Sign him up. He’s been able to fix it because he eventually escapes, and he’s moved on by just trying to adjust back to life on earth.

Midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

She does deal with lots of nightmares. As the leader of the group, she feels a lot of responsibility for others and often worries about making the right choice. She’ll often wake up and go to the common room to find someone to talk to. Usually Megan will be around or Zoe will just get her and they’ll talk. Once Zenith arrived, they started talking more and that’s how their relationship got going.

Bound: Has your OC ever been imprisoned or captured? What happened? How did they get out? Did the experience leave any scars?

Yeahhhh? The alien hunting program is set up in a way that it is a prison that makes you think it’s not a prison. After she tried to rebel, she and the crew who also tried rebelling were imprisoned in an actual cell where they all just sat for ever (until they were liberated and had freedom on earth) She probably has a few small scars from basic rough behavior from guards and hunts, but there is definitely emotional scars from the incident that, again, I can’t go into yet :)

Fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?

Zenith’s greatest fear is being left behind. He always felt like he couldn’t keep up with his peers, so it’s something that he is often really afraid of. When he is confronted with it, he often gets desperate and does what ever he can to keep up with everyone else. He has a tendency to overshare so he’s pretty open about this, especially with Zoe. Zoe helps him care less about it and just do what he can.

Guilt: What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it?

Ahem… again, the incident. I can’t get too specific. He handles the guilt by trying to rationalize what he did and by talking about it. He will eventually accept it, after a little bit.

So, yeah, I had another idea for an AU. I was watching one of those Horror Redesign Lavendertowne videos and despiste the fact that I'm not really a fan of horror, I do like the whumpy implications and potential of it. Maybe it's because I haven't watch/read much horror, but I feel like the authors don't really lean into that part so I'd like to focus on that 🫠

My idea is to make a Totsuka and Megan horror AU. I don't really have many ideas for it, but my initial premise is that Megan is being kept captive by someone (the villain) who is trying to turn him into a Horror Movie-like monster

I don't know much about the genre, but I feel like one of the most essential aspects of horror (or at least in the pieces I've seen) is the fear and the loss of control. You don't know what's chasing you, you can't stop it, you are mostly being left in the dark and have little to no control or knowledge or what might happen to you. And the fear surrounding it. I think that's why misteries can be so creppy. Because you don't know.

I think Totsuka would be the one looking for him, and there'd be some fights between them as well. I like the idea of characters working in teams, because it gives a nice sense of stability to an adventure, so I was going to have her looking for Megan with a bunch of people to aid her, but thinking better, I want to get her off guard and on the edge, so I'd either make the teammates betray her and be an active threat to her, or leave Totsuka suspicious enough she can't trust them or let her guard down for a second. I want her to freak out.

Meanwhile, I think Megan is kind of being experimented on, he is slowly losing control of himself. Sometimes he will become something he can't control because it's just a very tiny part of him that the experiments unleash. A monstruous and sadistic temper he will sometimes fall to, to coming back with his chosen/balanced self and freaking out. I really like the, "character who can't control their monstruous state and goes guilty after, but looks absolutely cool while feral", like Inuyasha's pure yokai form, you know?

Another thing I don't really like about horror stories, is that they usually start and end with the horror. The backstory shown serves the horror, and the story doesn't go beyond the horror. A family moves in to a suburban house, which is actually haunted and cursed and traps them into it and they spent the whole movie/book trying to get out. The story ends when they manage to get out. I mean, there's certain appeal to stories like that, but my personal favorites are the ones who are not really focusing on the plot, but on its characters and them drags them and uses them in every possible situation. That's why I like book series. So I don't know how, but I want the story to continue beyond the horror, maybe make a messy and angsty nonlinear recovery whump for both Totsuka and Megan, after having defeated/killed the villain. Totsuka would be having severe trust issues and be stress burnt out, and Megan would be probably having some need for control over himself and still getting flashes from the feral temper that was unleashed under the experiment. Meanwhile, their teammates (if there's any, although I do think there is a specific kind of angst in being surrounded by people, and still feeling completely alone) are trying to help them, but they're too afraid to let them. We could introduce a little more of conflict here to get things moving and don't have it being a total epilogue. Get things spicy and whumpy :)

Anyways, that's just an initial concept, and I plan on redesigning them to make them a little more fit into a horror story 🫠

It’s freakin 1 am and watching Tokyo Babylon led me to want to know more about Onmyoji , which let me to learn about Abe no Seimei , which led me to learn about pyromancy and to know capnomancy exist which led me to know about a movie called Tokyo: The last megalopolis who’s villain inspired M Bison of street fighter , and also this movie has a Spin off called the great Yokai war , which stars Ryunosuke Kamiki who also did the Role of Koichi Hirose in a live action adaptation of jojos bizarre adventure arc “diamond is unbrekeable” and also stars Nana Komatsu whose birthday i found out is on February 16 , which I find curious cause Tony Dalton’s birthday is February 13 , Freddie Highmore’s is February 14 , and Megan Thee Stallion’s , Matt Groening and Jane’s Seymour birthday is February 15 and now I know Nana Komatsu’s is February 16

Coping With Urusei Yatsura Movie 4: Lum the Forever (1986)

Trying to Explic the Inexplicable

In honor of the movie’s U.S. blu-ray release on the 28th of June (2022) . . .

The anime series Urusei Yatsura (colloquially translated as something like “Buncha Alien Jerks” or “Those Obnoxious Aliens”), based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi, has more than its share of weirdness, to put it mildly. Viewers of the show were treated to quite a lot of absurdity, oddness, nonsense, and unfamiliar imagery. Nowadays UY is likely best known through the second movie, Beautiful Dreamer, but probably nothing in the entire animated franchise is more surreal and unreal than the fourth movie, Lum the Forever.

It deals with supernatural themes and mysterious disappearances. It doesn’t explain things that happen. It shows things that don’t seem logical even within the story. Was it badly written? Was it sloppy film-making? Was the director being deliberately incomprehensible to thumb his nose at the world? Did we the viewers simply miss things by not paying attention?

I won’t claim to understand everything about Lum the Forever, but here are some thoughts I wrote down the last time I watched it, a few years back (with a tiny bit added here and there).

• This movie is aimed at people with a passionate knowledge of the regular TV series, made by hardcore fans for hardcore fans. The kind of people who can catch a subtle reference to a single episode that aired three years earlier and say to themselves, “Oh yeah! I remember that!��� From Sakura’s yokai friends to the air-breathing capsule to Megane’s armor to the reason Kotatsu-Neko might disappear, there are a host of things new viewers or casual viewers would simply be baffled by. And the movie already has more than enough to be confused by without people asking why on earth Ataru would stuff a pickled plum in Lum’s mouth.

It’s practically a given that a movie based on a TV series will reward (or pander to) the fanbase by throwing in little treats—character cameos, inside jokes, a significant object sitting in the background. What’s different in Lum the Forever is that those insider treats are actually relevant within the plot, and the filmmakers still made no effort to explain them.

• Just before she enters the water in one scene, Lum puts something in her mouth—not a single thing is said about it, but it must be one of the air-breathing tablets shown in the episode where the group visits Mendou’s aquarium and tries to bring the “pool ghoul” back together with his true love. Which explains how Lum can breathe while she’s stuck underwater all that time.

• It’s useful to recall that Kotatsu-Neko is not just a giant cat who drinks tea at a kotatsu, he’s a giant ghost cat who drinks tea at a kotatsu.

• They never do tell us the original ending of the “Legend of the Oni Princess.” This is a significant shortcoming in the film. The movie shows Ataru, Mendou, and Megane going to visit Mendou’s grandfather, but we never actually see him. Surely there was meant to be a scene with the grandfather outlining the whole legend, but it must have been cut, resulting in the absence of a crucial piece of the story. 

Perhaps in the legend the Oni princess gave birth (literally or figuratively) to the next demon-confining tree: one tree dies, but the Oni births the next tree, and thus the evil spirits are controlled once more. It could be that she died and was buried and became the next tree. Did the legend say something about the Oni princess becoming a companion to the area’s guardian spirit and thus placating that spirit? Could it be that the Oni became the wife of the guardian spirit and they were together parents to the new tree?

• The “Battle Champion Mendou” dream is much too long. For this we lost a segment explaining that legend?

• Mendou’s words at the town assembly might lead one to believe that Tomobiki town wants to get rid of Lum, to expel her from itself, because she is a “foreign particle” (like an infection). However, it seems instead that Tomobiki wants Lum as a friend. (Or lover?) Everyone else is essentially part of Tomobiki and only Lum, as something other than Tomobiki, is a suitable companion. (This is the sense behind the answer to Ran’s remark that she’s also an alien: yes, Ran is also foreign to the town, but she’s just not worth talking to.) The question then becomes why Tomobiki would make everyone else forget Lum, but apparently this is a way of making sure Tomobiki can keep Lum to itself (if people in the town missed Lum and felt a longing for her, that might awaken her and pull her away).

• Mendou starts the war with the Mizunikojis believing that if life becomes horrible enough, everyone in Tomobiki will be unified in the single desire to have things go back to the way they used to be. Mendou expects that this will somehow make the consciousness of Tomobiki release them from the dream world they’re trapped in, presumably by waking up that consciousness. Apparently this is what occurs, combined, however, with Ataru waking up Lum through his desire to see her again (Lum and Tomobiki are shaken from their dream communion at the same moment and therefore the “spell” around the town is broken).

• This movie does a poignant job suggesting that everyone would have been better off if Lum had never been around.

Thoughts on “Portal Enemy”

Ah, acrobatic performance, who doesn’t like it? you go to a circus, you see an acrobatic performers flexing their body and flipping it elegant to get the applauses. in entertaiment purpose, it is a satisfaction to see them performs, but what if it is used to commit criminal? Oh boy, you won’t like your stuffs getting stolen by the performer, or in this case, Sirque, without any notice. Without further adieu, let’s get to the show (SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HASN’T WATCHED THE EPISODE YET)

Cold opening; Fred suggests a lazy river for the lair, which iritates the rests. finally, Roddy and Fred agrees to have a fish tank, which forces Fred to cancel his purchase for big rubber floatation

we start the post intro with Sirque lures Krei’s car into his building, where he has to go back there to take his opera glasses (which is used to see other’s opera watching activities instead of the opera show instead. i mean seeing audiences’ activities at opera house is funnier than watching the opera instead so i can relate him). using her acrobatic skill, she sneaks into Krei’s office without having any problem, and then steals a project from Krei’s computer. 

I really like Sirque’s design. A not too much decorations for a acrobatic performer, with (seemingly) Yokai’s painting on her face. A french accent and her confidence (a borderline to being cocky) also makes her character is interesting to follow

Megan, who found out that Hiro is the center of the BH6 on the last episode, finally confronts Hiro at Lucky Cat Cafe to talk about it, not before Hiro has to go to Krei’s office to finds out about the heist.

Lyontreal. I have no comment about this.

On the second time of asking, Megan re-confront Hiro again after Hiro plugs out his monitor. Hiro lies again to Megan about what he has been doing, and Megan can’t take anymore. She finally says that she knew who is BH6, which makes Hiro frantic.

Megan is mad that Hiro lied again about BH6, and they starts to argue whether BH6 identities should be revealed, and whether BH^ should be disbanded. Hiro has an idea to show her the lair and the activities, so she would understand why BH6 exists and why she should keep the secret about the BH6, which she rectutantly agrees.

kinda like the idea of having someone to show them their superhero activities, so they would learn how important superhero is to them, and how important to keep the secret of superhero activities. we learn that once the villains touch the superhero’s real life, it would never be a good situation for the superhero. I mean, who wants your beloved ones getting threatened for something you do and they don’t. (See Obake to Hiro and the rests, or Di Amara to Hiro and Karmi, or the last episode) this trope is done multiple times tho, but this trope is a common sense for a superhero arc, so it is nice to bringing up ofc. Megan has to learn.

They finally reach the lair, and the rests of the crews surprised about Megan’s appearance on the lair (ofc with Fred’s running gag of his obliviousness). ‘Aunty’ Go-go pulling Hiro’s ear [chuckles] and wonder what he was thinking, to be replied that Megan would understand about why BH6 has to remain secret. The Bank robbery stops the arguments(well a comedy arguments), and the crews start to prepare. Hiro tells Megan to stay, but Megan blackmails Hiro to publish their secrets, which forces Hiro to bring her to the heist.

Megan seems enjoy (and she scream a lot) to having flying with Hiro to the heist, which makes Hiro blushingly smile. Megan’s joy stops when she is told to stay (with Honey Lemon’s Rabbit buble doll), which iritates her.

the battle begins for BH6 and Sirque, but, Sirque easily sneaks out BH6 and disappears, which creates confusion for BH6 as it turns out that she escapes to the other location miles away from them. Megan notices high -tech marbles left by Sirque.

Crews (and Megan) finds out that the marbles is a of modification portal device that the original  project used to be done by Krei and his crews, which was failed because the portal was very unstable, and it almost destroyed the city and one of the crew, Abigail (see BH6 movie; also @skatoonyfan1234 pointed out the portal is based on Krei’s project from the movie, with modifications so it is easily to use without having too much efforts; kudos to him ofc). If you watch the movie, you will know how dangerous the project was, and that, now is being stolen by Sirque, BH6 has to stop her, before the portal destroyed the city.

Sirque ‘performs’ her ability again in the art museum, now with her portable portal, while BH6 (and Megan, yeah) lurks. Hiro, with his modified suit, stands up to chase her, but the rests except Megan hold him off. Megan asks why it is dangerous to him to do it again, and the crews tell her that the first time it happened, the portal’s quantum almost killed Hiro, and he lost Tadashi’s Baymax, which, now, concerns Megan. Hiro goes eventually, chasing Sirque’s tail. loving the cat and mouse chase btw, it is suspenful, and intense, and in some moments, somehow funny.

the cat and mouse still happens, in different locations, until Sirque realizes portal’s unstability, but keeps going instead. the portal becomes more unstable,and it finally reaches its peak point at the alley. Sirque wonders how to stop the portal, and Hiro uses his supersonic magnet to ties the portal’s quantum so it can be stable again, he is nearly sucked by the portal when the trashcan hit him, but Sirque holds his leg, prevent him to being sucked. once the portal becomes stable again, Sirque escape trough it, which iritates Hiro.

the crews finally reach Hiro and ask if Hiro is okay, which Hiro positively responds. Hiro is upset that he can’t catch Sirque, but the crews encourage him that stopping the city from being exploded by the portal is a winning. Megan then hugs him, relieves Hiro and Megan, and re-bonds their friendship (Awwww). Hiro then apologizes for lying to her about BH6, saying that BH6 is really important to them, not only to protect the city from the villains, but to honor Tadashi. Before they leave from the polices’ surveillance, Hiro ask Megan to decide whether she reveals their identities, and Megan agrees to keep the secret about BH6. and in fact release the article about why BH6 identities should remain secret.

I really appreciate the writer for not using “erase the memory” trope whether a secret is being known by someone. it creates more dynamic relationship between Hiro, and Megan for the following episode, especially since she knows about BH6 indentities now, and attract audiences to see what’s the aftermath of it. thirsty theorists will discuss about it, and well, audiences will get hyped for the rests of the episodes.

At the end of the episode, Hiro is seen seeing the footage of the portal quantum on a chase with Sirque, and he notices the original Baymax at the quantum (double awww)

In conclusion, another solid episode, love Sirque’s character design, love the fact that another element from the movie is brought again to the series without being copy-pasted for the sake of the plot, love the intensity of the tail chase, love the dynamic interaction and relationship between Megan and Hiro, like the trope, and like the fact that Megan now learns about the importance of keepin secrets of the superheroes, and having her knowing the secret without getting hit by “Erase the memory” trope, which makes the following episode interesting to catch up. overall, really good episode, and now can’t wait for the next episodes

Alright I’ve kept meaning to do sort of an infodump on my projects because I’ve been really slipping lately.  I dunno how obvious it is?  Probably kind of obvious.  I’ve also been really bad about checking messages and responding to people.  So I figure I can write up a status report and then point to it when I’ve been inadequate about communication.

My IRL job has been wiping me out.  I’ve been getting short, labor-intensive shifts in the evenings, and then random surprise morning shifts shortly after, which has been really hard to manage my time around.  My sleep schedule has been extremely broken and it’s affected my productivity a LOT.  Leadership in my department is about to shuffle around and I’ve been interviewed for the manager position.  If I get it I’ll be working an entirely different schedule, which could potentially be good for my sleepy brain but will definitely leave me with less art time overall.  I’ve also been enduring some back/shoulder issues over the past few months.  Nothing urgent, but it’s limiting how much I can draw each day.  I think replacing my desk chair is going to be a big factor but it’s not the only factor.  I just need to be a smart human and take care of my joints and not hunch over so much.  Working on it.

Here’s the current status of my various art projects:

Laserwing

I ended chapter 5 in June and said I would finish up some other side projects before I start concept work for chapter 6.  One of the projects I needed to finish was the Popkas Yugioh season 4 special, which I finished.  The other big one was my Neonmob card set, which is most of what I’ve been posting lately.  Once that’s out of the way (see below) I need to do concept art.  Chapter 6 will put all the Laserwing characters in new outfits which will need reference sheets.  I’ll need background sketches and layout diagrams so I don’t have furniture shuffle randomly around between scenes.  I also need to sketch out the chapter 6 draft page by page.  I’ve made Laserwing in GIMP up until this point and am going to try switching to Krita for chapter 6.  I might need to do a test page to make sure my process transfers over well into a slightly different system.  Once I’m ready to make real pages, those take a while.  Chapter 5 pages were going up maybe every 2-3 weeks.  I don’t know how many pages are going to be in chapter 6, nor can I say for sure how many chapters are in Laserwing.  An old outline had maybe 40 chapters.  It’s a story with a defined end point, I can say that for certain, but it’s intended to be long.

Popkas

I’ve had issues with Popkas for a while.  I keep picking new themes for dailies, thinking they’re going to be quick and easy, but then end up making them hard for myself.  It’s been to my benefit, I’ve forced myself into learning new art programs and techniques through Popkas.  But it’s hard to keep up the daily schedule.  Currently I’m doing the Paper Mario: TTYD bestiary, which has 124 enemies.  At a rate of one per day, by the time I’ve finished them, Pokemon Sword and Shield should be released and we’ll have all the info about the new Pokemon.  Those will be drawn in ‘Popka classic’ style (scribbly shitposts).  After those are finished, unless my IRL work situation dramatically changes, I’m considering putting Popkas on pause.  In order to do any other monster dexes I’d have to do a lot more research (for example, people have suggested Yokai Watch but I’ve never played one) in order to have anything meaningful to post.  Same deal with Popka Specials (the anime writeup things), those take prep time and anime-watching time that I might not have.  I don’t ever want to end Popkas, but a hiatus might be necessary.

Angelfire Hime

Did anyone even know about Angelfire Hime?  Well I want to post more but that involves finding, scanning, retouching, and transcribing my old high school scribble comics.  It takes as long as any other project but is also low priority because it’s all old content.  Nobody is waiting for the latest update because nobody but me actually knows what that content is, and possibly nobody but me can even read it.  It’s more a personal journey of self-reflection than anything.  I want to return to it but not at the expense of better work.

I had a domain name linked to a tumblr that was supposed to be my news blog/front page and I barely use it.  Also, I let the domain registration drop.  Also, I had let a typo in my banner graphic go unnoticed for YEARS and still haven’t fixed it.  Even now, I’m writing this big post to my personal blog instead of the one for news.  The idea was to eventually buy some real hosting and make MeganFantastic a whole site of its own, but that’s a lot of work.  I’ve got a generally good idea of HOW I’d do it (probably wordpress) but I’m not a coder, it would take a lot of trial and error.  This would be a huge undertaking and eventually Laserwing, Popkas, and all my other junk would be contained on one big non-tumblr website.  But it’s uhhhhh not happening yet.

My contribution to our LP channel is to show up, talk about video games, and then draw title cards.  All recording, editing, and channel management is maintained by Josh, and I can’t speak on his behalf about our update schedule.  I will say there are a lot of half-finished games we want to return to.  I will also say that when the new Pokemon comes out Josh is dead set on recording it.  I don’t know if he intends that to be a stream or a regular LP.  In the meantime he streams Minecraft with his friends every Sunday and we fit in our own streams and recordings when we can.

Commissions/Patron Art/etc

I’ve not been very good about this lately and I’m truly sorry!  I have a few things I’m working on, a few things I’ve promised to start working on, and a few things I’ve told people I can do once my workload lightens up, which hasn’t been happening yet.  I really don’t have an answer.  I almost never delete anything so if I’ve been sent a message in any form I should still have it, and I’ll be sure not to forget anyone.  And if I do forget someone feel free to throw rocks at me!

Rane Story 2

What the heck is Rane Story 2?  Well I guess I have to explain Neonmob.  Imagine if ChickenSmoothie and DeviantART had a baby.  It’s a virtual trading card site, which is fun and cute, and I’m drawing out a card series to release on there.  I’ve been using it as practice for painting backgrounds and to fill out some backstory for some 4th-string Laserwing support characters.  Before Mistaire came to Earth, she went to space high school, and that’s where Rane Story takes place.  You can preview the series, and when it’s finished I’ll post about it.  I’ll also repost all the art to DA.  If you scroll through the last several pages of this blog you’ll see some of the art.  I’ve put a lot of my brain energy into getting this done in spite of my work/sleep issues because I don’t want to resume Laserwing until I’ve finished it.  This is what’s stolen my life, guys.  Right now I have 6 more cards to make, and then I have to write and finalize all the text.  I should be done SOON.

Pokemon Nonsense

When my back and shoulder get too hurty and I have to take a break from drawing, one of the easy things to do is whip out a DS and play Pokemon.  I’ve done a lot of twitter shitposting about it lately.  I’ve also drawn up a bunch of gijinkas for my Pokemon.  I’m talking about it now because I also intend to draw up gijinkas for Pokemon to trade away.  I’ve already done a few.  However, I don’t know for sure how I’m going to distribute them.  The idea is people can trade actual Pokemon with me (in either X or Let’s Go Eevee) and the Pokemon they get will come with a character design for you to keep.  I was thinking I might do a discord server for organizing trades and such, but I haven’t yet.  Mostly because it’s low priority and I have SO many other things going on.  But actually playing Pokemon can happen when I’m too fatigued for real work, so the horde keeps growing.  Hopefully my posts and scribbles about it are entertaining.

I feel like there’s other projects on hold that I wanted to discuss, but right now I’m too braintired to remember, and some of my ‘projects’ never actually got talked about online so nobody’s waiting for an update.  My greatest problem seems to be that I try to juggle too many pointless side projects and then drop them all over the place.  Sometimes I’ll shitpost about an idea and even I won’t be sure if I was serious or not.  How do I end this post?  I don’t know.
