Been playing Yoshi’s Crafted World (and I adore Yoshi in general) and the idea of regressor Mario and cg Yoshi has been floating around in my head, so I just had to bring it to life ^__^

Spooky Video Game Music No. 339: Nighttime Crafts- Yoshi’s Crafted World (Switch)
The Yoshi series usually have its share of spooky levels. We had levels with Boos in the Yoshi’s Island series, 2 haunted houses in Yoshi’s Woolly World or a grinder tearing away the page you’re in at Yoshi: Topsy Turvy. Yoshi’s Crafted World also has its share of spooky levels. One level has you traveling through a haunted house where zombie Shy Guys walk inside, a bunch of Halloween cardboard cutouts like a ghost, a skull or a Jack-o-lantern jumpscare you, or a cardboard Grim Reaper chases Yoshi. Another level has you in a town at night where a bunch of clowns with axes out for blood if they see Yoshi. While not horror themed, one level has Yoshi going through a museum at night while guards walk around. Wonder how Yoshi is brave enough to go through these levels…
This song is quite a weird case. The song’s slow pacing and pauses give off an unsettling vibe like you’re not alone and something scary is out there. It definitely makes the levels with this song have this creepy atmosphere that can possibly spook anyone. Yet at the same time, the pauses are oddly a bit too long, making it feel like the song feels unfinished. On top of that, the goofy instruments kind of feels too silly that it’s probably can be hard to take this song seriously. XD Yet, it does kind of work for a haunted house (or a city of killer clowns or a dark museum). It’s no Spooky Scraps! Don’t Be Spooked! from Yoshi’s Woolly World (which was No. 56 back in 2015), which is legitimately scary, but the song does somewhat does feel spooky in the context of the levels in Yoshi’s Crafted World. Just try to not laugh too hard over the silly instruments and the oddly long pauses. 🎃

According to Yoshi’s Crafted World director Masahiro Yamamoto, the game’s plot is not a real event, but instead takes place within the imaginations of children; Specifically, children in the Mario World playing at kindergarten, which is the reason for the game’s craft aesthetic.

Name: Li'l Marcher
Debut: Yoshi's Crafted World
Remember the joke of Yoshi Tax Fraud? That was really funny as a single Tumblr post! And then not funny at all as a meme. And then kind of funny again when Suppermariobroth unearthed that Yoshi tries to sweettalk people into tax breaks in Fortune Street!
But that is all old news. Let's talk about Yoshi's real, canon crimes! Yoshi has performed a museum heist. Isn't that great?
"No, it's not great. I hate it!"
Oh. Sorry. And who are you?
"I'm Li'l Marcher from Yoshi's Crafted World. And I hate museum heists! Share my story with the world. The people need to know that I hate museum heists."
Yeah okay. Sure. I'll do that. I'm sure people will be very interested in that.
"Thank you. They will. I'll be the next Goomba."
Tumblr media
Well, this is Li'l Marcher, and it hates museum heists! Yoshi, on the other hand, loves them, and is sort of just casually looting this place after hours. That's some Wario behavior! But he must be careful, because if he's seen by the automated spotlight, the security system TAKES CONTROL and starts ATTACKING the Yoshi! This security system is the Li'l Marchers, an endless supply of little waddling siren guys.
And being a security system is really their whole thing! If Yoshi is seen, the sirens are released to Get him, but not to alert anyone. Just to Get him. Addressing the fact that this museum is easy enough to enter that a dinosaur got in? No thank you! They just want to kill that intruder and die themselves in the process, because they die instantly upon bumping into Yoshi.
Tumblr media
Look at that. Bumbling, I tell you! What's so important about this museum that these bulbs of buffoonery risk their life to protect?
Tumblr media
I don't know, but there ARE paintings of Li'l Marchers displayed around the museum! Perhaps they feel in the organization's debt, due to it showing them this appreciation? Or it could be their very own art, and the poor things fear that some of the little culture they have is at risk of theft. Whatever the case, they sure love this painting, because the exact same one is displayed all throughout the stage!
Maybe the true reason they are so dedicated to protecting this museum is that it is frankly just not a good museum. A far below average establishment. The painting is nice, sure, but I only really need to see it once! When you buy a ticket to this museum, proceeds are absolutely not going toward improving its collections. They are instead going to making even more cute little security guards to Kill You. If you're dead, you won't find out that the museum sucks! It's a perfect plan! If you ever plan on going to a bad museum... be careful!

Mario Timeline Part 1
So I've begun to work on my own Mario Timeline which I'm going to be adding to over time, so here's the progress thus far, I hope y'all like it. Be sure to let me know what y'all think down below. Note, if something is absent from this list it's because I haven't heard of it, don't know much about it, or think it's not canon.
Baby Era
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island(Super Mario: Yoshi's Island) After divining a prophecy about twins that would bring disaster to the Koopa Clan, Kamek tries to kidnap the Bros. One falls down to Yoshi's Island and is aided by the Yoshies into reuniting him with his brother, and fighting Kamek and his troops.
Yoshi's New Island Thanks to time travel being introduced by Professor E. Gadd, the past was altered, and Kamek tries his scheme again. The Stork also delivered the Bros. to the wrong house as shown at the beginning of the game. Bowser recognizes Baby Bowser as his past self, while Baby Bowser is passed out so he doesn't see his adult self.
Yoshi's Island DS Thanks to time travel being introduced by E. Gadd, the past ends up being altered. Bowser and Kamek kidnap babies from around the world. The Bros. are already living with their family in the Mushroom Kingdom. Baby Bowser doesn't know who Mario is yet. Bowser recognizes Baby Bowser as his past self, and Baby Bowser is just now meeting and recognizing him as his future self. The Star Child Yoshi is shown hatching at the end of the game, but there is no exact placement. The opening recalls the events of only the first game, so this is probably Bowser's first time actively time traveling.
Mario & Luigi: Partner In Time(Mario & Luigi RPG 2) (Past Sections) This is the first time anyone time travels, and alters the past. Baby Bowser doesn't know Mario's name yet but does recognize him. Baby Bowser doesn't shown any animosity towards the Yoshies quite yet. Baby Bowser and Bowser don't recognize each other as the past and future selves. Kamek only remembers kidnapping the Bros. once. Time Travel altering the past and thus the present is established. Baby Bowser has also slowly begun to lead the Koopa Troop, and occasionally calling Kamek for help.
Game & Watch Gallery 2: Vermin In this game a Yoshi is protecting 6 Yoshi eggs from Paratroopas, Fly Guys, Boos, and Monty Moles.
Yoshi Story 6 eggs hatch in this game, these eggs are probably the same eggs from Vermin. The Green Yoshi could possible be the Star Child Yoshi, and the other Yoshis his friends who were mentioned in Super Mario Bros 4: Super Mario World. Baby Bowser knows Baby Mario's name and dislikes the Yoshies. Baby Bowser seems to be bigger and can now wield magic. They have also begun commanding the Koopa Troop without the aid of Kamek. He also no longer wears a bandana. Since Baby Bowser calls the Yoshis Mario's pet he must have been dragged to the future at one point before this game in order to make that association.
Yoshi's Crafted World(Yoshi Craft World) and Yoshi's Woolly World(Yoshi Wool World) Baby Mario, Luigi, and Peach make up the crafted games while at a kindergarten. The Bros. are still living in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Sports and Kart Games The Babies are pulled into the present for sports and karting events. However, this can happen at any time before this, but not before Partner's in Time.

Just showing off my complete Mario video game collection on the Switch. Not shown is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which came digitally with my switch.
The older Mario games from my childhood should be in storage somewhere, I hope. Though, idk if they still work. And even if they did I think my mom let my sis in law sell most of the old systems anyway 😭
Currently still playing Super Mario Odyssey. I have like 750 or so power moons collected. So, close to 100% it! After Odyssey, I think I will play Wonder! ^^

I can't be the only one who dislikes the direction the Yoshi series goes in in terms of story and lore. Sure, the cute, artsy presentation really works for the series, but I feel having a majority of Yoshi's platformers be prequels to the main Mario series (Topsy-Turvy/Universal Gravitation being the exception) cheapens the whole thing and defeats the purpose of a spin-off. Also the uncomfortable feeling of beating up a literal baby for most final boss fights, even if it is Bowser.
