OH! my number one secondhand fandom is wwdts thanks to @chasvchalilah <3 i have my Guy (colin robinson) and i feel like i basically know the whole plot thanks to shira and her incredible patience for all my questions and her kindness in telling me like. literally everything lol actually this reminds me i think the colin post shira tagged me in is in my drafts and that i actually forgot to reblog it. hm. gonna go find it after i post this lol also csm because grace watched it and i know it's not really a show that i'd like so i'm living it vicariously through them and moth and the other csm moots <3

ah this is dangerous omg okay oh gosh okay what do i choose okay so this is a very random thing to rant about, but it's fan-related so. but i lowkey hate in chatfics how writers always give characters different contact names. more often than not, i look at them and say "they would never choose that name" / "they would never name that person that" / "they would throw a fit if their name got changed to that" and like. it's just so irritating. i honestly think most blorbos would just call each other by their names in their contacts like. and if you're going to give them "silly" names (bc most times they just... aren't even funny to me personally), they don't even specify who is who! most of the time, i see them say something MAYBE at either the beginning or end of the first chapter and then usually never again even if the characters start changing each other's names! so it's just hard to keep up. i actually love chatfics and think they're such a cool idea and a great creative writing exercise, but they HAVE to be done right because they can go poorly/ooc SO quickly. not all characters use correct grammar, but some do. some will use capitalization and punctuation while others don't. some characters will use emojis or send memes and recite memes, OTHERS WON'T and you NEED to be able to figure this stuff out. also it is SO unrealistic for all the characters to constantly trauma dump because half these characters refuse to "show weakness" or don't know How to talk to people about what's wrong. oH AND ALSO not all characters are so unhinged in chatfics my God the way people write certain characters in how they text and what they text is so icky because it's just too unhinged we gotta stop giving characters that treatment ugh uh anyways also kenji is underused in the show and underrated by fans. there should be more kenji content. also unpopular opinion, but kenji is a more interesting character than chuuya and how does chuuya have like... 20k more fics in the chuuya tag than kenji has in his own tag? nothing against chuuya - i like him! i do! but why is he treated more like a main character than kenji:( maybe i'm just sad bc kenji is my favorite and barely has ANY content. there are SO few kenji-centric fics out there and a lot of them also are kenji & chuuya friendship which... admittedly, i LOVE but i feel like there's more kenji & chuuya than kenji & the ada members which is so sad??? also he deserves better in the show! smh he wasn't even in the s5 trailer (neither were junichiro and naomi ugh so upset about that) like pls. let everyone treat kenji more like an important member of the team bC HE IS😭

now it wasn't a huge change, but he definitely had no opposition to letting you know when he noticed you, and he knows you'd do the same if not more

You held the hem of your sweater, gulping as you looked around the crowded Plaza. You bit your lip as you pulled your phone out, checking the time, 3:34pm. You tilted your head a bit to the side, you wouldn't be surprised if NamJoon didn't show up on time, or got lost.

You let out a soft sigh with a smile, you always found him to be so unintendedly funny. Although his smartness was one of the categories that made him attractive, his careless side also made him attractive. Yeah, he is attractive. But he's also your friend.

The smile you had vanished as you concluded your thoughts. You couldn't like him, he already had someone in mind and he told you that already. It broke you, but you only nodded and showed excitement toward him. See, apart from NamJoon being your crush, he was also your role model. You thrived to be or at least have half his maturity.

You flinched at the simple touch of your shoulder, turning to see JungKook smiling down at you, "Hey, you come here often?"

"Shut up." You giggled as you lightly elbowed his rib, causing him to lower his arm to block the hit, "I'll take that as a no."

With a permanent smile on your face, you shook your head. "No, but for real, what are you doing here?"

"I was actually waiting for NamJoon. We were supposed to look for new furniture for my place, but, I don't think he's coming." You started, letting out a sigh, "I understand, he can be busy, but a heads up could have been nice instead of making me wait 30-plus minutes."

"Ay," JungKook cooed, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a side hug, "He'll make it up to you, he always does! I can help you look around, you can take pictures and you can show it to him."

You let out a chuckle, wrapping your arm around JungKook, returning the side hug, "You're right, gguk."

He chuckled back, rubbing your arm as he pulled you to walk with him. Both of you failing to notice the eyes that followed you both.

NamJoon, who only locked his jaw as he saw both of you leave, let out a soft sigh before turning the other way and leaving the plaza. In his defense, JungKook is amazing. Way better than him, he thought. Although he was the youngest, JungKook thrived in everything he did, he was just simply better.

Same thoughts were mutual, you bit your lip whenever he would rant about anything of his interest or what caused him curiosity. He would simply smile and listen to what you had to comment.

He never wanted to make you feel dumb around him, in fact, he wanted you to feel like you could rely on him. Yet his stupid mouth would say things that didn't make you understand or cause miscommunication.

Like the time Jin invited you out for dinner along with NamJoon, HoSeok, and TaeHyung, you had finished up at work and had run to the restaurant, still in your business attire. It was the first time your friends had seen you so formally.

"Wow!" yelled HoSeok as he laid eyes upon you, "Oh hush, Hobi."

You rolled your eyes, yet when TaeHyung turned his head to look at you, he gasped, "Oh my, you just took my breath away.."

"Shut the fuc-" You raised your hand to smack TaeHyung on the head, but SeokJin stopped you as he asked for the food to be brought out. TaeHyung letting a breath of relief as you shot him a glare when you sat down next to him.

"Just left work, right?" NamJoon asked you, smiling. You nodded as you removed your blazer, making SeokJin whistle.

"Come on, let's admit it, they look very stunning right now!" SeokJin mentioned, TaeHyung nodding along as HoSeok hummed as he took a sip of his soda.

"Not really," NamJoon, shook his head, "I've seen better."

HoSeok spits his drink, causing him to cough. TaeHyung's mouth fell open and SeokJin's eyes widened.

Flinching at the kick under the table by SeokJin, NamJoon choked, turning to look at you, "In the sense of-"

"No, you're right. This isn't my finest outfit." You commented, pressing out a smile as you took a sip of your water.

For the rest of the night, NamJoon didn't dare talk to you, embarrassed and ashamed of what he had mentioned. Truth be told, he liked your everyday clothing, the ones that made you feel more relaxed, more like you. Although you looked breathtaking in business attire, he liked you.

In your perspective, you assumed he has seen better. It's probably one of the factors that caught his eye when he ended up having his crush. Your heart broke a little, and you kept taking small sips of water to stop your lips from trembling, something you noticed you did when you wanted to cry.

It was never-ending.

NamJoon had noticed how nervous he would get each time he saw you, always saying or doing something stupid, making you confused or uncomfortable. And without him knowing, it was hurting you.

He hated how you would look so bright when greeting him, how he would say something dumb that caused your smile to vanish. And he hated how each time he tried to apologize, you would smile at him and tell him it was okay. It wasn't.

NamJoon had grown to believe you had left him for JungKook. He would see you slowly start hanging out with him more.

Yes, it was probably because you two were around the same age. Yeah, probably because you both had similar hobbies too. Or probably because JungKook just knew what to say to make you laugh, something NamJoon hadn't done in a while now.

It hurt him. It really did. But if his younger brother had found feelings for you and you for him, he wouldn't get in the way. For crying out loud, he was the mature one, he was the one fucking everything up too.

You had asked him a few times about this person he's been keeping his eye on, you believed if you knew who it was, it would potentially cause you to move on faster. Yet, whenever you tried bringing it up, NamJoon would just stare at you, clenching his jaw. You would only take a deep breath and nod your head, "okay."

Clearly it was someone you knew, but who?

Thinking about it.. maybe it wasn't a good idea to know who the person was.

You had caught NamJoon in a phone call, happily chatting away with someone. He had asked you to grab him a drink, and here you are, returning to him on a call. He glanced over and saw you, saying bye and ending the call.

"Who was it?" you asked, handing him his bottle as you scrunched your nose in a teasing way, "No one," he replied.

He opened his bottle and before taking a sip, he continued, "Don't worry about her."

NamJoon mentally patted himself in the back at the comment, thinking his words were right. they weren't.

You frowned a bit, nodding, "Oh, okay.."

You had started to grow annoyed with NamJoon. Ever since the incident with the phone call. If he wanted time to talk to his crush, he could have just told you, instead of bossing you around to have his alone time.

Unintentionally, you started avoiding him. What was the point? you thought. He would get busy on his phone anyway, texting or getting a call. It upset you, or were you just too jealous of the attention it was taking away from you?

NamJoon had found himself desperate, running to his older brother asking for advice.

"Hung, I don't know what's going on." NamJoon would groan as he sat on the couch in the resting room. SeokJin would just shake his head as he would eat his chips, "That's the problem, you don't know what's going on!"

YoonGi entered the room, went to the fridge, and got a drink before sitting down next to SeokJin, "Hyung, elaborate, please."

SeokJin just raised his hands in the air before making them fall on his lap, defeated. He then turned to look at YoonGi, "Your turn to raise him."

"What are we even talking about?" YoonGi frowned, SeokJin groaned, "NamJoon's horrible communication skills."

NamJoon shot SeokJin a glare, YoonGi only nodded, his mouth forming an 'o' shape.

"Well," He started, "Your communication skills are horrible."

NamJoon rolled his eyes, "That's not help-"

"That is why you need to be more elaborate with what you say and do," YoonGi interrupted, "a lot of situations need context, and if you don't explain yourself, a lot of things can go wrong."

"Even when you think you did the right thing," YoonGi mutters, looking down at his bottle, "you have to look at it from the perspective of the other."

NamJoon swallowed the lump in his throat, recalling all the times he did you wrong.

"Nobody is a mind reader," YoonGi sighed, "but, if you understand the person, you can feel and know what they're trying to tell you."

YoonGi, dropped his hands on his lap, looking at NamJoon, "You wouldn't want someone to be so reckless with your heart."

NamJoon nodded, standing up and walking out, before returning, "Thanks, Hyung."

Once NamJoon left, YoonGi leaned over the counter, his elbows resting on the table, "Who hurt you?"

YoonGi looked over at SeokJin, "Huh?"

"Scratch that, who did you hurt?"

NamJoon tried calling you, but it would go straight to voicemail. He cussed under his breath, feeling disappointed.

He heard a few voices coming down the hall, and out of instinct, he hid.

"Oh! I know!" a male voice explained, which NamJoon recognized to be JungKook's, "There's this new tteokbokki place that just opened, wanna go?"

"gguk.." you groaned, NamJoon's eyes widening a bit, "It'll cheer you up! You don't have to worry about big meanie NamJoon-Hyung."

JungKook continued, making you shake your head, "Okay, fine, but I can't stay too late, I have work tomorrow."

"There you go! Let's go!" He cheered as he hooked his arm with yours and walked to the elevator, "Please don't tell hyung I called him a meanie, I really -"

The voices faded as the elevator doors closed, causing NamJoon to sigh a bit. It broke his heart. Really it did. The fact that he had tried being the person your relied on and asked for help, but ended up being the least person you wanted to lean on. You had turned your back on him, like he had turned his back on you. Then again, how can you be so reckless with someone's heart?

Physical touch — Dream thrives on your touch, whether it be a quick caress to his hand or one of his long required cuddle sessions. He loves the feeling of your skin on his (he's a bit touch starved, a global pandemic and being a faceless YouTuber will do that to you.), and will take any opportunity given to hold your hand when he walks along with you or sneak up behind you to press your body against his.

Due to him not using a cam on his streams, he sometimes asks (more like demands) you to pull up a chair next to him just so he can just feel you next to him, your hands playing absentmindedly with his free one, playing with his rings and slowly making your way onto his lap, where you have a better view of his monitors and an easier way to press kisses onto his freckled cheeks.

Words of affirmation — Much like any other person, Dream enjoys the simple reassurance that his partner appreciates him, a small "I love you." will cause him to shut down immediately. He as well is very vocal when it comes to his love for you, complimenting you on the daily and expressing how much you mean to him even when you've just woken up and you're pretty sure you're comparable to the girl from The Ring, but to him, you're breathtaking whenever and however.

He also likes the small moments you both spend at night in bed just whispering how much you love each other, soft giggles and the wet sounds of kisses resonating around the bedroom.

Dream's very fond of sending you short and sweet messages at random times of the day, even when you're a few inches away from him, he'll start giggling like a schoolgirl as he watches you read over his sappy message.

Quality time — He has a lot of free time on his hands when he's not working on content, and he prefers to spend it with you and his friends, going out to restaurants and just walking around, enjoying the time he can now spend outside without worrying about anyone recognising him.

Dream likes eating out with you a lot, before his face reveal dates consisted of whatever take out was available and some shitty movie Sapnap had chosen before falling asleep on the sofa. But now they consist of some fancy restaurant of his choosing and holding your hand over the table, thumb rubbing over your knuckles and talking about whatever.

Receiving/giving gifts — Dream LOVES spoiling you. I mean, have you seen how he acts with George? He's an unofficial sugar daddy for you both. He sees your eyes linger on some piece of jewellery or an item of clothing he thinks would look amazing on you, expect for it to appear in a little box or a bag on your bed the next day. He also goes all out on Valentine's Day, booking a table for two at a fancy restaurant and gets you a single rose, since he knows it's more meaningful than an extravagant bouquet of flowers (Don't let him fool you, he's given you many bouquets before.), and some small present he knows you'll love.

Like any other person, he likes receiving gifts, and can always count on you to get him something he will love, like a little teddy bear with a Sooners jersey one with his name on the back.

Acts of service — Although he's not very good at it, Dream does enjoy cooking for you at times, and although he does try and make the end product look fancy, you can always tell that it's box Mac and cheese or some fancy ramen he got out of a packet, but it's the thought that counts. He also is very keen on cleaning for you when he's over at your flat, he likes helping on mundane chores like washing and drying the dishes or lifting up furniture so you can reach those pesky corners full of dust.

SAPNAP.

Physical touch — Sap is very big on physical touch, he enjoys being close to you in any way he can, brushing his hand against the small of your back when he walks past you in the hallway, melting in your arms when you come behind him while he's on his computer and hugging him from behind, he lives for your affection.

He's also very cuddly during your down time together, needing to have you in his arms whenever he's sitting or lying down on the sofa and subconsciously gravitating towards your own body during nighttime, hands grabbing at your waist to pull you into his warmth.

Words of affirmation — I don't see Sapnap really being in touch with his emotions until further into your relationship, so at the beginning, you'd have to be the one to initiate that type of communication with him, but he won't actively confirm his feelings until a few months into your relationship.

Once he's comfortable, he will spend hours at a time just lying in bed with you murmuring about how much he cares for you, loves you, appreciates you being with him.

He's the kind of person to ignore any previous texts you've sent him just to send out an "I love you" text and go back to ignoring you.

He does really enjoy being reassured about your love for him as well, please cup his face in your hands and tell him how much you love him.

Quality time — Sapnap spends a lot of his time playing video games, we know that, so he doesn't really get much one on one time with you that isn't hanging out on a discord call together or having you perched up on his lap doing your own thing while he shouts obscenities at the other players.

So when you two get your time together, he makes the best of it, taking you to ridiculous places you'd never have gone to before, fancy restaurants that would inevitably end up giving you food poisoning, or just lying with you on the sofa watching a movie until George comes in and ruins it.

He honestly doesn't really care what you two do in your spare time, having your hand in his and listening to your ramble on about anything is enough for him, no matter the place or time.

Receiving/giving gifts — Sometimes, just for shits and giggles, Sapnap just buys your entire wishlist and watches your reaction when tons of boxes arrive at your porch, laughing and snickering as you run after him to chastise him for using up so much money on you.

But he doesn't care, he has money for a reason, and he likes the sparkle in your eye whenever he gives you something or he accepts some gift from you, he just enjoys spoiling you AND being spoiled.

Acts of service — When it comes to him, it's the little things. Standing in the corner of the kitchen waiting for you to ask him to cut or peel something, holding the Christmas decoration box while another hand lays on your back making sure you don't fall as you hang baubles on the tree, washing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen after you make a meal for the both of you, brining you snacks or a proper meal when you're working… Just small things that show his affection towards you.

GEORGENOTFOUND.

Physical touch — George is not that big on physical touch, but he won't actively run away from it when presented with a hug or a kiss from you. He's not the type of person to initiate touch out of the blue, he's the type to take it slow and move towards a nice cuddle session while taking it easy.

But when you finally get him to yourself, know that he will be putty in your hands almost immediately, head slotted in your chest and eyes drooping closed, your warm touch and soft kisses and reassurance enough to send this man to sleep.

He's also the type to roll his eyes or groan out in disgust whenever you kiss him in public or in front of his friends, but secretly gets nervous and giddy whenever he sees you lean in to press your lips to his or move your hand to grasp his.

Words of affirmation — George isn't really good at expressing his emotions, but he does show them through other ways like his actions. That doesn't mean he won't ever say "I love you" or tell you how much he appreciates you, it's just very rare for him to actually find the words and way to express them to you.

He finds it easier to communicate those kinds of things through text, so expect a few messages written in such a way that are able to rival those 16th century love letters randomly sent throughout the day.

Quality time — George doesn't spend much time streaming (as we all know) so he's got quite a lot of time on his hands to spend with his friends and you, whether it's just sitting next to you while you work doing his own thing or actively going out on a date or staying inside to play a game together ( he always loses but makes you think that he did on purpose ).

Also please be the one to organise dates, because although George does reservate date nights at nice restaurants or clear his schedule to take you somewhere, he will forget. You'll be in the middle of a cuddle session with him, half watching the movie, half focusing on your boyfriend's pretty face when he suddenly jumps in place, eyes wide as he shouts about a reservation he just remembered. But he tries, at least. He won't always forget your reservations, but there will be a few moments where he does act like a dumbass.

Receiving/giving gifts — This man likes being spoiled, that's a given. See how happy he gets when Dream just takes out his credit card unasked? He's a prince who loves to be spoiled by his partner. So don't hesitate to get him something, even if it's a small thing like a scarf or a piece of jewellery you think would look good on him, he will take it and appreciate it a whole lot, even if it's the most useless thing in the world, he'll love it. It came from you, one of the people he loves the most and will treasure it as if it's the crown jewels themselves.

Acts of service — He's quite lazy sometimes, but that doesn't mean he won't do anything for you. As stated before, he doesn't really show his love through words, so his actions are the way to show his appreciation for you. He does chores for you around the house, the dishes, cleaning up any dirty laundry he can find strewn across the floor, cooking any random shit he can find and trying his best to make it look appetising for you, etc.

But apart from those mundane chores, he also does more little things like Sapnap: helping you with your makeup or hair or clothes, trailing after you while you cook waiting to help, instantly taking over whatever task you're working on whenever you need a break, making sure you're week hydrated and rested when you spend more time than usual in front of a screen.

WILBUR SOOT.

Physical touch — Wilburs a very touchy person as he's confirmed himself, always finding his hand wrapping around yours or resting on your shoulders, pulling your back to his chest so he can rest his chin on the crown of your head, enjoying how flustered you get whenever he pulls that kind of shit in public or around your friends.

He immediately gravitates towards you whenever you're both in the same place/room, his eyes finding yours and sending you a flashing smile before scurrying towards you just to press himself to your side, hand running over your back and busying himself with drawing on your skin; or if you're facing away from him when he finds you, he'll grab your waist from behind and watch you scream out of shock before hitting his chest, snickering as he pulls you into his arms.

Words of affirmation — Wilbur is a fucking poet when it comes to his love for you, spending hours at a time at his desk writing sickengly sweet verses in his little notebook about you and how fucking in love he is, leaving his notes around the house just so you'll pick them up and read through them, smiling brightly whenever you bring them back to him and ask him about it. He's very open with his love, whispering soft "I love you"s into your ear at random times of the day, strumming idly in his guitar and trying to find some type of melody that fits in with all the beautiful words he's written about you. Also expect lots of compliments through text as well, a "you look breathtaking today" sent when he's across the room from you, a goofy smile on his face as he watches you read it.

Quality time — It's the little things for Wil, like the feeling of lifting you in his arms and peppering kisses across your face the moment after a concert ends, adrenaline rushing through his veins making him more brave than usual; taking you out to bars and pubs with your friends just so you both can curl into one of the leather sofas and sip your drinks together; sitting on your bed while you scroll through your laptop as he strums on his guitar, singing softly to you or asking for your opinion on whatever riff he just came up with.

You don't really get much one-on-one dates. Let me explain. Wilbur tries his best to get a nice restaurant reservation, and when he finally gets a table, he's waiting for you to show up with a bright smile and a positive outlook on the evening, only for you to end up arriving with Tommy or James somehow tagging along with Wilbur when he leaves the office. Doesn't mean you don't have a nice time, though.

Receiving/giving gifts — Wilburs not a big gift giver, so he doesn't really mind if you don't either, but he will appreciate it massively if you do. Get him a new guitar and his old one will be out of the window (not actually, he'd probably give it to Tommy or just mount it on the wall), or some new sweaters that look amazing on him and he'll just burn every other item of clothing he owns. He isn't one to never buy stuff for his s/o, though, you see something you like and don't think you have enough for it? He's waving his card in front of your face. Tommy comments on something he heard you say you wanted? It's showing up a few days later. Also does his best to go all out on holidays/birthdays.

Acts of service — Wil enjoys showering with you a lot. Like just rubbing in the shampoo into your hair and playing with your locks, then leaning down so you can do the same to him? Peak acts of service for him. Also making tea for you (or coffee, but his specialty is tea) and bringing it to you on a cold night, cooking some recipe he saw online and making sure it's perfectly done so you're able to stomach it, and just doing chores around the house while you work or are busy.

Also will melt if you do small things like change his guitar strings or clean his desk while you're at his office.

Heya! We recently got back into the arcana after having distanced for a few years, and I have been playing Muriel's route.

Well I fell in love again, along with a lot of our system, and we were wondering, if you could use the prompt of "M6 finds out MC is a system" or something like that? If you in have trouble finding information that can help, looking up DID can help get a good grip on systemhood!

honestly? it could've been worse.

lots of things happened in 2023, both good and bad, in real life and on this hellsite. i feel like i've started to hone in on my voice as a writer this year, and my creativity and motivation just seemed to skyrocket for absolutely no reason. it's been fun sharing my work with you guys, and i'm forever grateful for all the love and support i have received <3 furthermore, thank you so so much for 4k followers!!!!! i never thought i would reach such a milestone, so it truly means a lot :')

hiii dear, hope you're doing well! :3 if you're okay with it i wanted to request kaeya with a younger sibling who developed social anxiety and co dependence towards him. after diluc and kaeyas fight + dilucs departure from mondstadt they felt really lonely, so they intend to cling to kaeya to fill this loneliness and they can't bear not to be near him and feel very anxious and desperate without him

it sounds more like this is a separation anxiety rather than social anxiety so ive written it more along those lines - i also didn't want to ig romanticise the issue/make it seem okay to be that co-dependent so there is pointing towards getting support as well just bc i dont want to make it seem like its "okay" to be increadibly co-dependent to such an extent!!

He's never minded how clingy you are. You're younger than he is and he assumes you just liked to be around him because he wasn't as overbearing as Diluc was when the three of you were young. Kaeya's quiet nature was predictable and as much as you loved Diluc, some of his escapades just left you a tad too emotionally exhausted and you'd come to find Kaeya to rewind.

Kaeya quickly notices how bad your symptoms get after Diluc's departure. He's almost glad for the distraction that you provide in needing him to be with you because it stops him from thinking about everything that's happened. This is the only way he doesn't ruminate over everything, focusing his time into taking care of you.

The first months like that are fine until he realises how much the two of you have kneecapped yourselves. It takes him a bit to admit that being the only people you two confide in is going to just set you both up for failure and as your brother he doesn't want to do that to you. He wants to see you thrive and become as amazing as he knows you can be.

He tries his best to support you and your worries. He reassures you that he won't leave you and that he and Diluc don't hate you. He knows that even though Diluc left he didn't leave because of you your mind will tell you otherwise so he works to make sure you can believe him when he tells you that.

With his help you can get the support you need to become less dependant on him. He's proud of the progress you made and works on himself in the same vein so he can be an even better brother to you.

I ADORED part 7 of the classification series oh my gosh, I love the idea of Kuni being an amazing caregiver(cause be would be trust). Most of the time people characterize him to be cruel(in the ones I've read) and a bit mean, so this was like a breath of fresh air! He was stern, but not mean and was just worried about Dazai, and it was super nice to see. I love Chuuya and Dazai, and I also love Kunikida and Dazai so this was super cool!! I hope we see more in the future of Kuni and Dazai, only if that's something you're up for. Anywho, super good read and I can't wait to see what you write next! :3

I’m honored to provide good kunikida content 😭 I agree he’s very often mischaracterized as just an asshole, like did we forget he used to be a teacher???????? He was so devastated over the idea of children being harmed in any way because of his/the ada’s actions. I think he would absolutely put his planning and scheduling skills to good use and children (and by extension littles) thrive on structure. AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! SO CUTE I'M SCREAMING!!!! You got it dude!!!

"I don't think I can do this," Rooster groaned as you two pulled into the parking lot of the school.

"Rooster it'll be ok," you assured him. "It's not like you're speaking at a VA convention."

"Yeah but what if they make fun of us?"

"You think a bunch of second graders are gonna make fun of us?" you chuckled. "They probably won't even know about half the shit we're talking about."

Rooster still wasn't so sure. He felt like a dork being in his flight suit, but he kept telling himself that you and him were doing it for Nicky. Besides, your son hardly ever asked for anything, so why was it such a big deal? Rooster turned the key and shut the truck off as soon as you were parked.

"Alright (y/n)," he said. "Ready?"

"Like I've never been before," you said, smiling at your husband.

The two of you walked down the halls to Nicky's classroom, the both of you surprised at how many parents had shown up for career day. You were even happier to know that in a place like Great Ocean Steiner School, the kids were thriving too with most of them being from Navy and Marine families. One kid in the first grade class walked with his father down the hall, the tall, broad shouldered giant in a set of neat dress blues that made you and Rooster a little bit jealous.

You met Nicky right outside his classroom, the both of you scooping him right up and spinning him around as he giggled. "You ready for Mommy and Daddy to come to class with you?" Rooster asked, hoisting Nicky onto his hip.

"YEAAAAAH!!!!" Nicky shouted excitedly, holding up his little hands to form a pair of little devil horns.

You and Rooster couldn't help but laugh at your son's excitement. All week he had talked endlessly to his teacher and friends at school about his mom and dad and how amazing they were. Even Miss Leslie, his teacher, was excited to meet the two of them.

"You must be Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw," she remarked happily as she stepped out of the classroom. "Leslie Newman, I'm Nicky's teacher."

You and Rooster gladly introduced yourselves, shaking hands with Nicky's teacher. "Looks like Nicky's all excited for the afternoon," Rooster remarked.

"Oh God, he's talked all week about you two!" Leslie informed them, just as excitedly as Nicky had been. "I was hoping I'd get to meet you both. You know, a few of our teachers here are also former military."

"Really?" Rooster asked her.

"Oh yes, one of our high school teachers," Miss Leslie explained. "He was a Marine, our soccer coach I believe was an Air Force officer and I believe our baseball coach was an Army Ranger."

"Holy crow," Rooster chuckled.

"Here, come on in," Miss Leslie said to the both of you. "We're about to start.

Each of the kids in the class introduced their parents, letting them talk about their careers. Some were doctors, others worked in construction while a few worked the blue collar trades. When it was time for you and Rooster to go up, you were both nervous and excited all at once.

The kids asked all manner of questions. Did you fly planes? Yes. Did you fix planes? Sort of. One little redheaded girl in the front row raised her hand.

"Did you ever shoot any bad guys?" she asked.

You and Rooster looked at each other with a smile on your faces. "Well, we did once," Rooster told her.

The kids were wide eyed with awe when you and Rooster told them the entire story of the Uranium Plant Mission. None of them could believe it. A few of them even blurted out that they wanted to be pilots too, even Nicky who proudly proclaimed that he had the best Mommy and Daddy in the world. You and Rooster were secretly high-fiving, the nerves gone and proud that you had both come to career day.

misunderstanding anon w ocd here from like. four years ago- I literally am about to get a degree. i live in a different country now. but i am still here!! i wanted to say i was SO unbelievably excited when i saw the updates. i haven’t had time to read yet because grad school apps + the end of my undergrad + my brain are conspiring to eat up all my time, but i will be reading your updates the MOMENT i am done (which will be around my birthday so thank you for the inadvertent gift :)). i'm alright, just been working a lot which takes a lot of my energy but i'm close to done with my conversion study finally so that's looking mostly promising haha lots of bumps in the road but it'll be worth it. writing again is the only thing keeping me sane these days pffff which is bold to say because it makes me Insane as well. i am back to "all i can talk about is my bullshit" lmao talk about obsessive right 😅
