Domestic Bliss

“Hey Shinji, could you put some sunscreen on my back?” 

Shinjiro turned towards you as you spoke, a bottle of sunscreen clasped in your hand as you lazed on a towel under the shade of a beach umbrella. It was a scorching hot Summer this year, and just like every other year your rag tag group of friends would spend your Summer vacation at the Kirijo mansion. It seemed that no matter what or where any of you were in life, without fail you’d always end up meeting back up on this beach and get back together. It was a small blessing that you fondly looked forward to every year and Shinjiro shared that same sentiment. 

Shinjiro nodded wordlessly as he joined you under the shade of the umbrella, the sand crunching softly as he knelt down next to you. He plucked the bottle of sunscreen from your hand as you turned your back towards him, your ears filled with the chatter of the lovely ladies of the group as they chose to bake in the sun for a while and get a tan. No matter how much Akihiko advised against that, they brushed him off with a wave and a shared giggle. A soft hum fell from your lips as Shinjiro touched your back with the warm palm of his hand, gently peeling the drawstring of your swimsuit from your back so he could apply the sunscreen. 

“Just a warning, it’s gonna be cold” Shinjiro supplied. 

You playfully rolled your eyes. “I’m sure it won’t be that bad.”

You immediately ate your own words as a cold spurt of sunscreen landed on your back and you shrieked. A shiver rolled down your spine, goosebumps prickling your flesh despite the searing blazing heat of the day. A soft hiss whistled through your teeth as a warm chuckle breezed past Shinjiro’s lips. 

“Told ya it’d be cold.”

You shook your head with a loud huff. “Smartass” you playfully bit back. 

You pressed the seam of your lips together in a tight, thin line as Shinjiro’s strong hands started to rub the lotion into your back and you swallowed whatever words that lay heavy on the tip of your tongue. You fell silent for a long moment, simply enjoying the way Shinjiro massaged the sunscreen into your back, making sure that every inch was covered as the tips of his calloused fingers sent pleasant tingles dancing along your back. Your entire body felt like it was going to melt into a warm puddle of goo under his ministrations and you were a little embarrassed when you were finally broken from your stupor. 

“You seem to be enjoying that” Yukari teased, peering at you from over the rim of her sunglasses. 

A knowing smile tilted her lips as she stuck her tongue out at you, causing you to scowl and wave her away. Shinjiro handed you back the bottle.

“All done” he announced. 

He went to stand up but you were quick to wrap your hand around his wrist and force him to stay seated. A pinch formed between his brow as he gave you a curious look, head cocked to the side as he stared at you. 

“Did you remember to put sunscreen on?” you inquired. 

Shinjiro looked thoughtful. “Hmm. No.”

You sighed softly as you gestured for him to make himself comfortable. “Well, you’re not gonna play beach volleyball with the boys until I lather you up.”

A soft snort blew from his mouth but he nodded in compliance, staying seated for you so you could drench his body in sunscreen. The other boys of the group noticed Shinjiro’s absence and Junpei called out to him.

“Come on dude, the sun's up and we’re ready to go!”

“In a minute” Shinjiro called back as you rubbed a healthy amount of sunscreen all over his back. 

Junpei couldn’t help the grin that split his face when he saw the two of you under the shade of the beach umbrella and nor could he keep his big mouth shut as he cupped his hands around his face and called out to you. 

“Hey, when you’re done over there, can you oil me up too?”

You could feel the tension tighten between Shinjiro’s shoulder blades as he shot Junpei a scowl. A loud sigh puffed up your cheeks as you rolled your eyes. Even after graduating, Junpei still kept some of those childish behaviours. 

“In your dreams Junpei!” you shouted back.

Junpei placed a hand over his chest, feigning hurt as a grimace tugged at his features. It didn’t last long because in the next instance Makoto decided to chuck the volleyball straight at his head while yelling:

“Catch!”

You got to witness Junpei’s unfortunate fall from grace as the ball knocked him on the cheek and he landed face first in the sand. The entire beach erupted with laughter at your friend’s expense.

“Nice receive!” Akihiko chimed in. 

Junpei groaned as he peeled himself from the sand, spitting out the small grains that had gotten stuck in his mouth as he sent Makoto a dirty look. He grabbed the valley that had landed beside him and he jumped to his feet, ready to chase down Makoto for sweet revenge. With a shake of your head you finished applying the sunscreen, placing a kiss on the crown of Shinjiro’s head before he stood. 

“All done, you can go play now. The girls and I will join you guys in a few minutes.”

With a quick nod and a peck on the cheek Shinjiro ran out to join the other boys, completely prepared for the first day of your Summer vacation.

You notice him see a reply to an email but he quickly hides his phone in his pocket "Minato you've been on your phone alot what's buggin' you?" "Nothing"

you shrug noticing the sound of loud thundering footsteps closing in on you, trying to see who was causing the noise only to be met with a poster. "Y/n~" Jinpei appears from behind the poster grinning cheerfully yet you can sense blatant mischief in his expression. "There's a new gadget in town for two, you should help me buy it" "what is that even for?" "Oh I don't know" he walks back, his face facing you dramatically "two tickets to see the new movie that came out a few days ago" you flash back to Yukari raving about how much she wanted to see it, your face gets deathly serious. "Where's the theater?" "THATS THE SPIRIT"

Yukari, while she was grateful they could help did get a bit worried when you didn't come back until sunset with Jinpei and your emo tag along. "We're alive!" Jinpei bursts open the door with you two following behind. "Where the heck did you guys go to stay out so late" Yukari pounts seeing her you nearly fall into her arms. "I missed you" you look up at her with unfocused eyes, holding her to stay steady. Glaring at the both of them, she helps you to the couch near the entrance. "Yukari" you hand her the tickets with unstable hands. "I got the tickets to a movie you wanted to see" you smile brightly contrasting how beat up you sound. "The line was huge" Jinpei interupts "I think we almost drowned" "for a few tickets?" "There was a sale" you mumble out. She wraps her hand around your arm pulling you closer to her, using this as their cue the room emptines to just the two of you.

"Where ya going" as she gets up she turns to you "I have something for you" as if she woke you up with those words you sit patiently watching her come back with a plate. "You made chocolates?" A bit stunned she looked away "I guess the smell gave it away" she lays it next to you and her "They're all for you" "no" "huh?" "Lets share them, it would be unfair if you didn't get to atleast try them ya know" a bit more flustered she takes a bite with you. Biting into them you stretch yours out slowly the caramel stretching out. "You know me so well" you remark after finishing the first one. "Yum.." You muttered that under your breath but she still heard it. "I got you to say yum" she smiles proudly. "Really?" You look down again picking it up "they are really good guess it slipped out"

Hey, do you imagine Shiho and Ran as rival singers, but behind the scenes they are girlfriends?

This idea came to me when I was listening to Olivia Lufkin's Little Pain and being on one of the most wholesome platforms in the world Twetter 🤣 and well, putting as the last ingredient two girls loved and hated by their extreme fandoms, I came up with this idea.

And well, I got a small summary like this:

“...Hey, guys.” 

Junpei sits down in the cold plastic chair beside the twins. Their heart monitors beep in unison like always. Their chests rise and fall in unison like always. There’s no response from either of them. Like always. 

“Uh... Just wanted to catch you two up. Akihiko and Shinjiro-senpai moved out of the dorms and got an apartment. After Ken finishes out elementary school, he and Koro-chan are gonna move in with ‘em.” 

He pauses. He doesn’t know why, it’s not like they’ll suddenly open their eyes and listen to him. He isn’t even sure if they can hear him now. 

“Yuka-tan is the head of the archery club now. She says it gets pretty stressful sometimes, but I think she enjoys it anyways. Y’know... It’s kinda funny. She told me she only joined so she could fight Shadows, but she’s stayin’ in the club anyways.” 

Another pause. Another moment of crippling realisation that they may never hear him again. Another deep breath. 

“Uh- I brought my grades up! Y’know, I think all that shit with the Fall kinda helped get my head outta my ass. I may not like studying or homework, but sometimes you gotta grit your teeth and do the crap you don’t wanna do. Like fight Shadows.” 

He laughs. It doesn’t sound right to his own ears. It grates at his throat. How dare he laugh, how dare he joke, when the two people he cared about most, who sacrificed themselves for him and the others, lay there hooked up to machines just to survive? 

How dare he be anything at all when there are others who have suffered more? 

...He recalls something Kotone told him once, while he was grieving Chidori so long ago. 

“You held her dear to you, and she traded her life for yours. That’s not something to be taken lightly, or joked about. You’re allowed to grieve, Junpei, and if you don’t give yourself the time to process and mourn, I’m gonna kick your ass.” 

He held the twins dear to him. Still does, really. They traded their lives for his, and the others’. It’s hard to make jokes about it, even after all these months. But he’s allowed to grieve- allowed to mourn their lives and the crushing fact that they had used themselves as a barrier between Nyx and the world. 

If he didn't take his time like this, someone from S.E.E.S would kick his sorry ass. Probably Shinjiro-senpai and all his terrifying, comforting glory. 

“What else... Oh, yeah! Fuuka has gotten way better at cooking. Honestly, it’s kinda a shame you guys can’t taste her cooking- Shinjiro-senpai might have some serious competition soon! Well- okay, maybe not, but I’m serious! She’s, like, taken over Shinjiro-senpai’s role since he left.” 

Junpei chuckles, remembering when she was first learning to cook. She had accidentally set the dorm kitchen on fire, and made it worse by throwing water on the grease. Now, she could easily whip up whatever someone was craving, and had made Shinjiro-senpai proud when she (successfully) improvised a recipe. 

“There... Isn’t really that much left to say. Aigis misses you two a lot, but since we’re all gonna be so busy, we won’t be able to visit for a while. So once we’re all settled, and we have some time, we’ll visit again. Okay? Take care, dudes. Love ya.” 

There’s still time left in visitation, he could stay and talk about him following his baseball dreams, or Mitsuru and Yukari finally getting their heads out of their asses and getting together, or Ken asking him if he knows any other words for ‘Dad’ for “no reason in particular”. 

But he leaves it all unsaid. He’ll tell them next time he sees them. He promised, after all.

canonically shes hyper fem in her style and manner since yukari accidentally gave her a masculine name after mistaking her for a boy when she first held her

yukari became quite attached to the name and many people in the undercity don’t speak her native language anyway so taji’s name isn’t really a large mixup issue, and taji has no issue with her name being a masc one.

buuuutt if i made her transfem the name wouldn’t be on accident, but taji would like her name enough already and since she doesn’t run into any trouble over it, she wouldn’t see reason to change it.

Ahhh!! Tysm!! Also, HOLY SHIT I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while! Did not expect writer's block to hit me so hard! But I *have* started writing ch 3! As an apology for the uhh... delays... (and as thanks for the kind words!) you're getting an extra special sneak peek at the opening of ch 3! It's still wip, but I hope you enjoy, and that it *somewhat* makes up for the drought. Enjoy!

Yukari hopped up the stairs of the dorm and stepped inside. She was greeted by the familiar ambiance of the building, the cheap fluorescent lighting and mildewy wallpaper making her feel at home. She made sure to give Koromaru a fond pet and kiss on the forehead before strolling into the lounge. The only person there at the moment was Junpei, who was mashing buttons on a small handheld.

"Yo, Yukari! 'Sup?"

She sat down on the sofa across from him, and dropped her shoulders, "Not much..."

He looked up from from his game, "Somethin' on your mind?"

Yukari bit her lip, wondering if Junpei was really the best person to talk to about this, but she replied anyway, "Um, Junpei, what does it feel like when you talk to Chidori?"

At the mere mention of her, Junpei's face lit up, "Chidorita, eh? Well, I'm always excited to visit her, obviously, and each time we talk, I feel a bit antsy... but like, in a good way!"

"Huh..." Yukari fidgeted with her hands.

"Anyway, why do you ask?" He gasped, and put on a sing-songy voice, "Yukari, do you *liiike* someone?"

She groaned, "I don't know! Maybe? I mean--no! I think..." She put her head in her hands, "ugh, this is so confusing..."

Junpei chuckled, "Tell ya what, you tell me how you feel about him, and I'll use my *Ace Detective* skills, and give you my expert opinion."

Yukari snickered, "Alright, 'Ace Detective' I guess I'll tell." She drummed her fingers along her knees as she explained her feelings, "Um, this is *so* embarrassing, but... I'm always really looking forward to seeing them. Which is something I don't really feel about people? But with them, it's different. I feel so light every time we hang out, or even just talk. It makes me happy, just being with them."

She looked up, and was met with a shit-eating grin plastered across Junpei's face.

"Dude, you have got it *bad*."

Yukari leaned her head back over the sofa, and sighed, "I hate to admit it, but you're probably right."

"So," he said, "who is it?"

She considered turning back now, considered waving the details aside and never bringing up the matter again. But... she had already come this far...

"It's..." Yukari groaned. "I can't believe *you're* the first one I'm telling about about this."

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" He sputtered.

Yukari shot him a glare.

"Know what? Never mind. Continue."

"It's..." She winced. "It's... a girl..."

Instantly, a toothy smile formed on Junpei's face, "Oooooo, you got a hankerin' for the ladies, huh?"

"Ugh, shut it, Stupei! You got a problem with that?!"

He laughed, and raised his hands defensively, "Not at all! You should like what you like, y'know?"

He leaned forward, "So, what lovely lady has caught your eye?"

After rolling her eyes, she relented, "It's... Kotone."

Junpei seemed elated, "Dude! I totally get that! She's super sweet, and a real cutie, to boot."

Yukari flushed, "Jeez, you don't need to lay it all out like that!"

"But you do agree, right?"

"I mean, yeah... she *is* really cute."

He beamed, "Man, this is great news! You two would be perfect together! Oh! Can I be your wingman?!"

"Not in a million years, Junpei."

"What?! I'd be great at it! I'd even teach you some of my pick up lines!"

She snickered, "I don't know what's worse, your pickup lines, or the fact they might actually work on Kotone."

"Now you're talking!" He laughed, "Seriously though, you need any help with her, I'm your guy." He shot her double finger guns and a wink.

"I'll think about it...."

"I'm not hearin' a no!"

"You know, you are super annoying sometimes." She chuckled. "But... thanks. I think talking about this really helped."

"Anytime, dude."

Before heading upstairs, she snapped around and jabbed a finger at him. "Oh, and if you tell *anyone* about this, it's curtains, got it?"

Junpei made a zipper motion over his mouth and gave a thumbs up, "Your secret's safe with me!"

"It better be! I mean it!"

Back int he Real World, Ann's arcana pops and of course it's Lovers. Listen, both Yukari and Rise had fucking great Lovers arcs that fit perfectly with the arcana. Excited for how Ann's works out. I frankly don't know enough about her to even speculate.

I noticed she talks about modeling so I hope it isn't Rise But Blonde Now. I doubt it though.

I don't have an opinion on this one yet except that Morgana is extremely active and a good teacher. They are in tune to the environment around them, so on a surface level, they're better than Yosuke was that's for certain.

i WOULD love to, thank you for picking up the ask bait,

my favorite crypton vocaloids are actually Rin and Len (do not separate them.jpeg) but other than that I also really like Gumi and Ia, and if I feel particularly like dropping a more niche one, Yuzuki Yukari. (and if we're counting SynthV, Solaria, but that seems like a cheat answer almost because her voice is so good)

That said I could list more that I like (and I did already list quite a few there that's beyond "favorite" but ya know) but beyond those it's more like a divide between "I really like the design but don't have enough songs I like to qualify them as favorites" to "I have a lot of specific songs I like but I wouldn't necessarily think of myself as a fan of the particular vocaloids that are featured in them"

As for favorite producers, one of my Favorites is GHOST, and I particularly like the songs Reckless Battery Burns, Aura, Honey I'm Home, Chattering Lack of Common Sense, The Distortionist, Happy Days, and Appetite of a People-Pleaser I'm not very good at picking just a few, haha

I'm also a fan of Kagerou Project, so a bunch of those songs by Jin

And for a producer who does make a lot of songs featuring Miku, I like PinocchioP and some specific songs like God-ish (fucking banger honestly), Apple dot com, I'm Glad You're Evil Too, and eight hundred (though the audio on eight hundred isn't The Best in my opinion, I really like the lyrics)

I'm also generally a fan of a lot of DECO*27 songs, but my favorite there is definitely Ghost Rule

And since I'm still here I'll shoutout a couple other songs I haven't mentioned yet; People Become Ghosts by ive, Undead Enemy by Giga, You Adventure Log Has Vanished! by Jesus-P, Lost One's Weeping by Neru (a classic. to me. and Neru has some other good ones too), A Tale of Six Trillion Years and a Night by kemu (another classic), Copycat by VocaCircus, Mahou by kyaami (it's a cover, but a link to the original is in the description, and it's a really good cover) and Again by Crusher

well, i did it!!!!! i beat persona 3 for the first time ;v;

i have a lot of thoughts rn, this game really made me feel a lot of emotions and i honestly liked it a lot more than p4 and p5. the ost, characters, and story were all really strong, i think yall could prob tell how invested i was in this game by how much i've been playing it this past week fkdfskdfs oh, and i got decently close to maxing all the social links but i was playing mostly blind so unfortunately i did miss a few, but the ones i did max i really did love! there were some that weren't as good as others, but i think every social link was very solid, especially the ones that had a good message attached, or was gay as hell. also as a side tangent, kotone is my new favorite mc. like, ever. not just persona. i had no expectations going into this but her writing was honestly rlly good, she's such a caring girl but not afraid to throw hands to keep the ppl she cares about safe, and she is such a good leader!! also, can we talk about how GAY this game is?? literally no one told me how gay all the girls are in this sdfkdfsks there was so much hand holding.. so many dates.... so many borderline confessions....... my favorite ship for kotone is definitely saori but methinks she's also dating yukari, mitsuru, fuuka, aigis, and elizabeth. anyways i could go on abt this game all night.. like i didn't even get into the ending or specific moments/social links but you get the gist, this game is really special and i don't think i'll ever forget it, i really wish i had played it sooner and will recommend it to anyone looking to play a game with a strong and caring female protagonist with so much agency.. god kotone is amazing.

what's next? uhhhh i literally don't know lol. i would play reload but ya girl is jobless and as broke as always so i can't rlly buy a 70 dollar game rn (also it doesn't have kotone? booooo) soooo maybe i'll try innocent sin next? i had played it a long time ago but never beat it. or i might try persona 1 or eternal punishment for the first time! i dunno, but between p3p and soul hackers i've rlly been living for megaten lately!! ok, flora signing outttt byeeee :33 !!!!!!

minami and tohru both have poetry blogs on tumblr, they follow each other, but they do not know who is running the other blog

yukari had horrible depressive episodes when she was younger, that makes her blame herself for the way minami is now

akira puts milk before his cereal

koshi can’t tie his shoe laces, he has been using zippers for so long he forgets shoe laces are a thing

tohru has beef with minami, it’s one sided, she thinks he’s alright

minami and koshi have chronic pain, they bond over it

naos parents are dead. no reason i just have a gut feeling

the minamida parents suck, yukari is the golden child but her struggles aren’t taken care of, and minami is ignored all together leaving yukari to try and parent her. that lack in parental support is also probably what leads minami to be so comfortable around akira, they both have issues at home but it goes as an unspoken understandable

speaking of akira, his moms a drunk, his dad is no where to be seen, and his sister left the second she had the chance. leaving him the man of the house, he lacks control in his life and childhood so he takes it out with violence. no excuse but it is a logical explanation for a backstory we never got because of the demo-

akira is fascinated by minami because in a lot of ways she reminds him of himself when he was young, as for yukari he just didn’t like the lack of attention from her, he chases what he can’t have and let’s go of what he does have. it’s an endless routine

tohru has too much pressure from his peers and family that he clings to the few things that bring him comfort like his few friends and his interests in oddities

koshi is the only person with a good upbringing, but he grew up poor

miho grew up comfortable money wise but was left to grow up too fast, she seeks too much control and ended up without a childhood chasing justice

mihos strong sense of justice is what ended any possible friendship with minami, minami just wanted to keep to herself only showing minimal respect to people who earn it, miho hated that and she isn’t the type to keep her mouth shut

yukari is desperately trying to make them get along. she is failing.

wakabayashi is a horrible person, just all the way around he’s a dick, rich family never had a struggle in his whole life, the type of guy who tried to play the fire truck game, the type of guy who is somehow both violently queer and also violently homophobic. but he’s still popular

boy is trans, his name is legitimately boy because he’s bad with names, him and minami started talking because of his name, she was originally make fun of it but after hearing the story behind it she just found him endearing

minami and boys relationship is complex, she’s aroace yes but in the beginning she wasn’t fully aware of this, she confuses her platonic feelings towards him for what she hears romance feels like, he is the shoulder she can cry on the only person she can open up to and overall her best friend, and he’s head over heels for her. their love is one sided but their ok with that, he doesn’t need to be intimate to be happy by her side and she’s more than happy to keep him around

 akira also feels little to no romantic feelings but just likes knowing people enjoy him in such a manner and when they don’t he sees it as a challenge
