Zösky helplessly asking Kaput to teach him how to dance at the end of Discotekus has been living in my brain rent-free for the past couple months. Any thoughts or headcanons? (Hi btw I feel like it's been a hot minute!)
Ah this is a good question! I just rewatched the episode to refresh my memory.
It does seem that Kaput has learned some of the basics of dancing from somewhere. My headcanon for him has always been that he was born on a pirate ship. So he would have probably picked up a sizable repertoire of sea shanties (or space shanties lol). These types of songs function to synchronize a crew by working in rhythm. It would make sense that Kaput was able to pickup counting the beat from a very early age.
As for his little blurb about all the practice and training it takes for dancing. I was thinking maybe some member or members of the crew might of had more sophisticated backgrounds. And maybe taught him some basics of more formal dancing to pass the time.
*sigh* Just go ahead and laugh at me. I honestly don't know what made me think this would go well...
I couldn't possibly chock it up to 'oh I didn't see the show', I had already seen a few episodes, so I obviously should've known better.
But yes, I've been interested in this duo since March, and was curious to learn more.
I decided to change into an alien (specifically a Lamammian, the same race as Zösky), follow them on whatever planet they were on at that time and ask them questions.
But apparently, I never considered that one of them was far too eager to shoot me with his laser gun (referred to as a "crisperizer").
All I really picked up on is that Zösky had come up with a strategy for whenever someone stalks or follows them.
I don't know what the strategy is supposed to be, I was too busy making my escape while Kaput was arguing about how he didn't like the strategy because it "doesn't work". I heard Zösky say that they hadn't actually tried the strategy yet, so Kaput wouldn't know if it worked or not.
Just a reminder, this all happened in the span of only 8 minutes.
Finally got around to drawing Kaput and his Ma, Thrasha, from my fic Old Wounds on Ao3. I’ve been working on some rough drafts on a sort of prequel fic for K&Z. Hopefully I’ll get the first chapter done soon. In the meantime I’m hoping that drawing out some scenes and characters will help motivate me and give me a sort of storyboard to work with. Anyway, enjoy some baby Kaput.
The lullaby Trasha is singing is Wild Mountain Thyme

Excuse me but I'm heart eyes @ all of your art SO HARD right now. I found your youtube channel a few months ago but I didn't know you A) ALSO DREW THEM and B) are also in BC? Vancouver Island??? (Not sure if you still are, I was just reading your About Me)
... AND you work with bats, wow you are SO FUCKING COOL
Anyway thank you for sharing, I know literally 0 other people who know of Zaput and Zosky so this has truly been a trip down memory lane. <333
So sorry it took so long for me to answer you, this is one of the nicest messages I've ever gotten and I wanted to make sure I replied in a way that showcases that! You've made my entire month, seriously I keep coming back to this and it always makes me smile, something especially appreciated right now! (I've lived on the island for over a decade but am currently in the process of moving, which totally sucks. Just heading across the pond to Vancouver though, still very close!)
K&Z was super important to me growing up and when I learned so few people knew about it I wanted to change that! They are so iconic to me fr, always so glad to meet fellow fans; I know that every time I do I feel super excited so there's also an aspect of self-indulgence there of course. I am very normal about this obscure Nicktoon from 2002 that nobody's ever heard of
Anyway, thank you so much for such a sweet ask; making people happy is why I upload so it's always so so appreciated to hear it working. Much, much love to you! <33

I think Goncharov is good, but people always forget about Goncharov: The Animated Series. Produced by Nelvana in 1998 and quickly forgotten, it deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as other Canadian animated classics such as My Dad The Rock Star and, Kaput & Zösky,
