now this one I call "I just summited minecraft fanfiction as a final project in my uni class, and got away with it." But anyway, enjoy some create s2 boys

To Fields of Stars

There lies a small community off in the new growth of our world, one covered in new technology where the cogs of machines spin with flowers building their supports.

Here builds an architect's fantasy, where houses will walk across the flowering fields, trains sound off in the distance, and the automatons will power the complex machinery of their engines.

There, lives the engineer afraid of the moon.

The one who chooses to work the endless nights away, left plagued by nightmares of destroyed homes and frozen voids. a moon that lies a painful reminder of what could not be saved.

Yet each night, when the engineer is too tired to deny, and the moon has become anew, his friend of the sheep brings him to fields of flowers and lets the engineer lie down and watch the sky.

The sheep strings together stories of how stars are born. elaborate tales depicting the nebulas that dance intertwined. Stories of how the constellations love.

Slowly, without the blinding eye looming within the night, the engineer lets himself sleep. Slowly the engineer forgets his fear. Slowly he learns of names hidden in stars.

Slowly, ever so carefully, the engineer learns again how to love the bright void around him.

ok I just read litd and binged the whole hunger au tag and I am /obsessed/ it's so good! but one thing i need to know is like,,, do the hermits know he's a watcher? bc there's one line of tango asking if he still drinks water, but other than that the way the hermits are desperate for answers and then grian not even trying to defend himself when they find out he's behind the life games and saying the potions were for safety but not elaborating on why, it seems like they don't know.

Hello friend!!! :D im glad to hear you've been enjoying hunger au so far!!! Yeah this is smth i havent addressed the full details of yet (mostly bc the fic is a rough draft and is missing a LOT of the beginning connective tissue. If i were polishing this, it'd be far more cohesive) so this is a pretty good opportunity to mention it now!!

Part of the reveal that took place before the fic began was that Grian is a Watcher, he caused the Life games, and he was somehow altering their brain states-- which in turn affected their actions. They didnt really stop to find out more or even why before kicking him off the server. So they dont actually know yet that Grian has been starving literally ever since he knew them, and this was all a desperate matter of survival. All they know is that he's not a Player, and that clearly something they hadnt originally clocked was wrong, because once enough time had passed for people to start simmering down, the search party members began realizing just how out of character that kind of concentrated cruelty was for Grian.

The water remark from Tango isn't meant to be taken literally-- he's just anxious and doesn't know what to do, so he's cracking jokes in an effort to lighten the mood. It did actually almost work too skdjejdjd Tango my beloved

When Doc asked Zed to bring out his inner demons, my mind immediately showed me an image of Grian and his big hollow eyes.

That got me thinking. I've seen him characterised as some kind of bird a lot and as a doll a decent amount of times. How is it, though, that he has escaped the demon / cryptid headcanons?

He has hollow eyes. He has no mouth. He says he was born into that red sweater of his. He barely resembles a human at all. He can dislocate his neck in weird ways, turn himself sideways and generally just change his appearance whenever and however he wants. He is an agent of chaos.

Maybe people people made up the whole scary and powerful Watchers storylines because of this? Grian himself has stated the Wathchers were just the viewers. Nothing more. But when you make the Watchers powerful, then that in turn makes Grian powerful as well, because he was one of them.

Doc is usually all bark, no bite. The Hivemind less so. Grian is unpredictable and powerful in the weirdest of ways. Zed and Ren have been involved. The rest of the server has felt the effects already. I'm looking forward to what's going to come of this quickly escalating little war of theirs.
