Bruce is in...an unfortunate circumstance. So is everyone else. He can honestly say he has no idea what is going on, and judging from the barely suppressed rage, confusion, and hostility, neither does anyone else at the table.
He's sitting at the head of a table in Wayne Manor, which definitely does not exist anymore and is glowing a strange green. At the table are Damian, Jason, Dick, Tim, Duke, Cass, and a random teenager he does not know.
Alfred, who has been dead for years, is serving them food that is...glowing slightly green. Just like the house.
Everyone is being courteous, and it...it seems like someone is controlling their words? Their actions as well. They can only speak in rhyme, and they are being forced to play as one big happy family.
He can see, in everyone's eyes, that no one remembers how they got here.
Even Alfred, glowing blue skin and luminescent green eyes, seems to not be in control of his actions.
The strange teen at the other end of the table is getting more and more panicked with every glowing green delicacy placed before them, muscles tensing and straining as he visibly tries to break free with brute force alone.
Bruce knows, as does everyone else at the table, that to eat those foods is...bad. He doesn't know how, exactly, but it appears that no one should eat them.
A flicker of someone, no, three someones dart past the door. One of those people wears an armored outfit, and pauses long enough to appear to do a quick assessment of the unknown teenager at the table; so another hero, or at least someone invested in keeping the boy alive. If they have enough time, they might be able to undo this.
He needs to delay.
He cannot let any one at this table, including that random boy, eat any of this food.
Whoever is doing this wants them to play as a typical family unit. He is only allowed to say or do things that would typically fall into that category.
Alfred sets down the last plate, movement stiff and jerky as he tries to do it as slowly as possible, and Bruce feels his hands stray towards the utensils on the table.
He redirects them to brace against it and stand himself up.
"A toast is required, to welcome new kin, for we never grow tired of taking them in," Bruce says, lifting a glass of...something. Green and glowing, as is everything else.
Toxic.
Thankfully, the makeshift toast seems to work; no one moves to eat the contaminated feast.
But he feels himself start to sit down again.
Jason's hands are shaking, tiny wheezes slipping past his lips as he fights against them moving back towards the fork and knife. Tim, concerningly in contrast, appears fully prepared to eat whatever this is. Even...eager?
Bruce really hopes he's reading that one wrong.
When they escape, and they will because he will not accept anything less, he really needs to have a conversation with him.
"In truth there are no secrets here, and I must divulge some I fear," Bruce almost shouts, knees popping back into a standing position so fast it triggers a spasm of pain in his back. That wasn't what he meant to say.
He can feel himself being compelled to speak the worst truth he could possible give, and instinctively fights against it.
In response to the struggling, Damian's hand reaches out, tendons flexing in full view as he fights against it, and a finger dips into what is supposed to be some sort of gravy.
He cannot be doing this.
Dick's hand gracefully snags a glowing green dinner roll, his eyes steely as it's brought towards his mouth.
He cannot.
Duke sounds like he's about to hyperventilate, fingers trembling and dropping the glowing pig-in-a-blanket, forced to pick it up every time it drops.
At the opposite end of the table, the unknown boy actually manages to let out a soft, muffled shout, jerking forward before the magic that bewitches them all forces him back into compliance.
...He must. He must, lest he not only watch his children die in front of him, again, but watch them all do it at the same time.
Bruce closes his eyes.
A hand rests on his shoulder, giving him a comforting squeeze.
The only comfort this strange residue of Alfred can give him.
"We are no mere family; we are the knights that hide in the dark, verily I do speak more gravely while chasing crime like a shark."
There are sounds of combat, things breaking and people shouting, laser pistols, or a variant thereof, firing.
The compulsion is stronger, and he knows that if he tries to resist it even a little bit, Duke, Damian, and Dick are all dead.
Damn it.
"For I am Batman, of Gotham proud, alone I began, but now have a crowd."
He is forced to sit down again, and the sounds of fighting ease off.
Damn it. Damn it! They failed!
But the boy at the head of the table stands, sweaty and desperate.
"For telling me this, I feel I must up the ante; I cannot dismiss that I'm also a vigilante. My name is Phantom, and I really love oranges....."
The boy stops talking, mouth open as whoever controls them tries to find a followup.
But.
Nothing, traditionally, rhymes with orange in such a way that it shares the last part of that word.
The air seems to stretch.
The table holds their breath.
...The air snaps.
"Not again!" Someone shouts from where the fighting was, "Stop doing that!"
Or; Ghostwriter wanted to fuck with Danny, by forcing him to play house with one of the wealthy elite and torment him with stupid rich people bullshit. He even used the lair of the ghost of their old Butler, Alfred, since it was an exact replica of Wayne Manor. Sure, if humans eat food that's made of pure ectoplasm straight from the Zone they can't ever leave it, but like, they can just stay with their butler. Ghostwriter just needs to make sure that Danny can't talk, because if the little shit talks, he'll use the orange trick again. He did not anticipate that; Bruce Wayne is Batman, Red Huntress would try to beat the snot out of him with the help of a goth and a technonerd, or that Bruce Wayne would manage to give Danny the perfect opportunity to open his big fat mouth and ruin Ghostwriter's fun.

It's the zombie apocalypse! Or, it's trying to be?
"Go to college!" Bruce had said, "You won't regret it!" he had promised, "Just go for one semester!" he had begged.
Well, as Tim watches the Chemistry lab across the hall become a horrifying chaotic mess of people turning into straight up zombies thanks to an experiment gone wrong, he hopes that Bruce realizes how wrong he was.
This?
Not worth it.
But the zombies...stop attacking?
They're all circling another student, staring intently and...trying to lick his hair.
Tim leans closer to the window in the door, ignoring his classmates behind him trying to pull him down to cover. They're overreacting; the door is locked and the zombies are no longer showing aggression, it's fine.
He instead focuses on the kid that's successfully stopped the zombie apocalypse by...becoming what appears to be a salt lick. For the zombies.
It's Daniel Fenton.
The kid hiding the fact that he's a meta.
They're in the same study group together, and it looks like Tim just found out what Danny's powers are; calming the undead.
Danny, however, just looks like he's on the verge of tears and exhausted.
Or; One of Danny's Chemistry classmates decides to go supervillain, and turns most of his Chemistry class into zombies. But halfas are only half alive, and register as...not prey, to zombies. More like something to investigate? Definitely not to bite, though. Danny, however, knows they're licking the ecto in his sweat. He also knows he can't be turned into a zombie. Ugh. Ew. So... Fine. So Danny is forced to stand, in his Chemistry lab, getting licked by the zombies of his ex classmates while the living ones escape and call for help.

Clark Kent is firmly in his civilian persona. This is a problem, given that the airplane he's on with Lois is about to collide with another plane on the runway.
He can see the other plane about to t-bone them, and is fully prepared to...somehow fumble his way through an explanation as to why he disappeared and superman took his place, but the meta kid sitting next to him has a different idea.
The meta kid let's out a strangled shriek, grips the armrests of the seat, and the entire plane goes intangible.
The other plane delicately just...glides through their plane, and everyone on their plane and everyone on the other plane just stare at each other as they pass by in horrified silence.
The people seated where the other planes engines are passing through harmlessly initially let out a few terrified screams, but they taper off when they realize that nothing is happening.
Then it's over.
The kid, hyperventilating, lets go of the armrests once the other plane has completely cleared them, and immediately goes for one of those little baggies to empty the contents of his stomach.
His nose is bleeding, his ears are bleeding, and he looks dazed. He clearly overdid it.
Clark is running a hand up and down his back, trying to get him comfortable, while the other passengers and crew stare at the kid in awe.
After all, there's only one person acting like this after something as insane as making every single person intangible. It has to be the kid. The kid has to be a meta, and that meta just saved all of them.
But the kid peeks up at Clark, eyes full of fear, and says something that makes his heart drop into his stomach.
"Please don't tell my parents."

All the other rogues are staying the fuck away from this random dude. Some of the ghosts are trying to convince Danny to just wander into rogue fights to let them beat the shit out of their murderers.
Danny doesn't know he's the Ghost King, or that he's scaring the shit out of other people.
So, Danny and Jazz moved to Gotham for a new start in their life and un-life ( ignore that he and Jazz are rather young to be moving across the country, ignore that his parents died saving them from the GIW ). They've got an "ok" apartment, and a job at this cute little flower shop run by an eccentric "possibly former supervillains" lesbian couple.
He's even making friends with the ghosts. Like Richard and Mary Grayson (trapeze incident) who are teaching him to fight like a human, if Danny didn't know better he'd think they were stalking those vigilantes. or Dr. Hamish (killer clown?) who's helping Jazz with her studies.
Apparently some time before they met Danny they were just shades who couldn't even manifest, weird. There's also the weirdly active shades telling him where all the good spots to watch the city are and how to find the cheapest prices at stores.
Nobody knows what's wrong with this creepy kid. Every time some mugger even looks in the scrawny boy's direction their loved ones show up and yell at them until the kid's down the street.
Batman tried to investigate the potential meta until he saw his parents waving in a nearby window. Danny's neighbor swares his grandma is haunting him and Danny for some reason, and any time the Joker goes within a city block of ivy and Harley's flower shop/home he becomes blind and deaf by the sheer number of his "volunteers" telling him to die.

Dc x Dp #54
Dan wondered if he was about to keep most of his mind due to his own existence being an anomly amonst time itself, or if Clockwork somehow interevened because he believed that it was best he had his mind instead of being a complete child with his ridiculous powerset. Probably both, if Dan was being honest. Or should he say "Dante" now? Honestly, he knew his momma wasn't original, but seriously? Dante was the best he could do?
Momma-heh. Dan looked up at his younger counter part as he frantically moved around their small cramped apartment as he tried to wrangle Dani into her pajamas for bed. The younger child flying around and going intangible whenever her momma was too close to putting the clothes on her after their evening bath. It was domestic, somewhat, if you didn't know more about them.
Three out of four of their only kind in hiding. Hiding from those who don't understand them. Who wants to hurt them jsut because they are viewed as non sentient.
Danny could've left him alone. Simply take Dani and leave. But he didn't. He looked at him as a child. His child. Made sure he was just as safe as Dani as they disappeared from Amity and far away from the GIW. Now playing a happy family in one of the most crime ridden towns in the United States. Far enough for the GIW to not immediately look there
Dan remembers his original timeline. When he killed every hero, vigilante, and villain that stood in his way of greatness until there was nothing but weak humans who couldn't defeat him. Every alien invasion wasn't a threat, it was a work out to him. And it lead him to crave more. His need to fight. For Power. To become the strongest until there was nothing left. And yet, even then, the only person that could stop him was him.
Honestly, Dan didn't remember much during his reign. The heroes were strong, but not enough. Even the villains that turned against him weren't anything but a small distraction of the bigger things. But the biggest threat, unsurprisingly, were the bats.
Smart. Cunning. Stubborn. Put up a better fight than anyone else and got closer to anyone else to figuring out how to stop him. How to hold him down. How to make him bleed.
Yes, they lasted the longest out of all of them, and it wasn't until Dan stood over the remains of the infamous bat family did he realize: this was his family.
While only his ghost half, Dan still remembered being Danny. And more than that, he remembered Danyal: the shadow of the heir to the al Ghul name. Twin to Damien Wayne, but treated nothing but a shadow and a bodyguard.
Congratulated none for his efforts but punished twice as much for if Damien failed. He was nothing, while his brother was anything. Scars physically and mentally that he pushed into the back of his mind when he finally left the League. It was easy to see how little how they felt about him when none of them left.
When he left and was adopted by the Fenton's, everything was great. He actually succeeded about forgetting about his past life. Especially with all of the ghost business and trying to hide his identity from his parents.
But as he stood over the corpse of his brother, the youngest Robin, he wondered if Damien ever wondered about him. Wondered if he looked for him. Wondering if the great Batman knew he had another son out there. Would he turn him away if he did? Would he haved turned away Dan? It was too late to find the answers.
Until now that is.
Now, his future was a distant timeline. Broken and forgotten with no going back. But that didn't mean that the people weren't still here. He knew his father was Bruce Wayne. He just didn't know when Damien was introduced to the Wayne family.
Dan startled out of his thoughts when momma picked him up into his arm, Dani in the other dressed and snuggled against momma's chest in a sleepy daze.
He rested his head on momma's shoulder as he was carried into their small bedroom and tucked into bed. His eyes briefly closing as he felt cool lips press against his forehead in a goodnight kiss. A soft and fond voice wishing him and Dani a good night.
Dani responded but Dan stayed quiet. Not opening his eyes until the door clicked shut and his mommas ectoplasmic presenced lessened as he went to the next room. Then, his eyes opened to reveal a glowing red as he stared out the window into the cloudy and smog covered sky that was Gotham.
He was going to get the help his momma needed. He just hoped this trouble was worth that it was.

Prompt #17
Give me chaos >:)
so usually when baby man Danny is in Gotham, he gets picked up by Damien but what if he gets picked up by cass ( and just because i can De-aged Dan and dani as even smaller baby man and woman )
So Bruce and the boys have noticed that Cass had been acting a little weird and based on the thing she is doing such as sneaking extra food to her room stealing blankets from all around the house and for some reason buying pet toys it is safe to assume Cass has snuck an animal into the house, what exactly it is? They have no idea, and honestly they were gonna leave it since whatever it was wasn’t causing problems and it would appear cass was taken care of it.
Until one day cass was running around like crazy grabbing whatever she could and rushing to her room, she looked panicked. So everyone was obviously concerned and went to her room. But she wasn’t there instead the adjoining bathroom door was open so they went to go check in there to see her hovering over the bathtub looking stressed and worried, as they get closer, they spot something they have no idea what it is. It looks like a mix of a cat and a snake and whatever else . Bruce then asks what this is and what’s wrong why is she panicking?
Cass would then lead everyone out of the bathroom and then explained to them in her own way that she found this cute little thing and she doesn’t know what it is she thinks it’s like an animal from a different planet and alien animal, and she was taking care of it, but all of a sudden this morning it refused to eat and started freezing things and she’s getting worried because it also refuses to move, everyone seeing how stressed cass is about this weird alien animal or something starts making Assumptions like maybe it’s sick or maybe it’s getting ready to hibernate or something because they don’t know how this animal works. Maybe it has different things that it has to go through but before they can come to any conclusions, they hear tiny little chirps?
cass immediately rushes to the bathtub and squeals, the rest of them follow her to see the small creature now holding two tiny little versions of itself with Slight differences .
(I don’t know what to put further but all you need to know is chaos) >:)

The sun, the center of the solar system...is about to go Supernova.
And there's nothing the Justice League can do to stop it.
As far as they can tell, it's magic. The magic probably relates to something Darkseid had said the last time they fought him, something about having more than one method of victory.
They don't have time to dive into it.
The Lantern Corps are going from planet to planet, pleading for anyone to accept Earth Refuges. The Justice League is working with all World Governments to make sure that people are ready for planetary evacuation.
The sun grows brighter. And hotter. And bigger.
Planets start to veer a little off course. The Earth's moon comes far close to the planet than it's supposed to.
Tsunamis are starting to happen instead of high tide. Earthquakes are becoming a norm. The increased mass and heat is ruining the delicate balance their system has, and if the Lantern Corps doesn't find a place soon, then they'll have to send everyone they can in random directions, and just hope they survive.
Then, on the morning where it's do or die, where whether or not the Lantern Corps found a place humanity would have to leave regardless, the sun...turns off.
Then it comes back on.
It looks normal.
The readings come back normal.
The planets, which had started to be pulled off course, are back in their original positions. The moon is just as far away as it's always been. In fact, the dates on their computers all read three days earlier.
Like they'd been thrown back in time.
As one, Earth realizes that it must have been the Flash that saved them. After all, that's the hero that can and will go through time if needed!
Flash is hailed as a hero, but...he didn't do this?
He asks his family.
None of them did this.
In Illinois, Danny rushes out of his parent's basement...and sees that it worked. Clockwork held up his end of the deal.
Time has been reversed by a few days, from before the moon was dragged closer. The replacement sun is functioning just fine.
As a baby Ancient, one that wasn't even fully dead yet, he'd been worried that he'd fucked it up. But no, the new sun he grew looks like it's doing fusion perfectly normally, happily chugging away in the sky.
Everything will be okay.
Now, Danny has to uphold his end of the deal.
Everything has a price. The Infinite Realms lost out on a lot of souls from what Danny just did, after all. It's only fair he offer something in return.
He has to move into the Infinite Realms, permanently, and accept his apparently earned title of High King.
The last thing he's allowed to do on Earth is to give his summoning sigil to a man named John Constantine, along with a note from Clockwork.
Or; Earth was super doomed, no way out, and Clockwork hated that. So he broke the rules. He accepted a deal with Danny, helped him make a new sun, spun time backwards, and had Danny sign a contract saying the boy would give up his life in the mortal world once it was done. That way, at least as far as the Observants are concerned, an equal price is being paid. Then, he sent the boy to Constantine. He told Danny it's because he wants the man to have his summoning sigil. It's actually because if anyone can bamboozle and loophole Danny out of this contract, it's John Fucking Constantine, and the note he told Danny to give him is asking the man to do just that.

GK!danny meets the JL and (due to magic users not being in the room) they offend him by threatening/patronising him or asking insensitive questions like how he died. Danny still wants some contact/alliance to help deal with the GIW, but doesn't wanna deal with mortal idiots rn. So he sends Dan in his place for his "community service" aka redemption arc.
Basically I really wanna see Dan dealing with the magically incompetent league and scare the shit out of them.
Bonus if Danny sends a letter along the lines of "Due to negative prior relations and differing priorities, all further communications will be conducted via my brother, as part of his mandatory community service. I advise against angering him, as he is on probation for genocide of a mortal realm. Good luck."
I just think it would be funny.

DPxDC Mechanical Engineer Danny
Danny caught the attention of Batman while studying at Gotham University for his alternative energy projects. He’s hired right out of college to work on the Watchtower.
He shows absolutely no tell of his abilities till there’s a dire situation- Flash’s electric discharge messes with one of his projects in progress and the whole base would have lost air pressure if he hadn’t done a quick fix using telekinesis and ice.
Of course Batman notices.
Batman assumes the worst- he suspects Danny’s a rogue of some kind, someone who has infiltrated the Justice League with an ulterior motive. But he can’t just fire Danny now- he’s the only one who knows how the new Watchtower energy source works. Plus, he’s not letting Danny go anywhere until he’s figured out his true motives.
Cue Batman subtly testing Danny- tossing things at him to trigger inhuman fast reflexes, having him lift too-heavy machinery, setting up convenient opportunities to steal or snoop or otherwise be up to no good. Danny does take advantage but only once, to use a computer terminal with unlocked clearance. He didn’t plant any bugs that Barman could find, and he otherwise kept up his powerless civilian act perfectly.
Still, Batman’s not satisfied. He brings an infrasonic sound emitter to Danny’s lab one day, and that, of all things, is what gets Danny to break.
“I know what you’re doing,” Danny admits with a sigh, finally. “If you’re really that suspicious of me, I can leave, but I kinda like my job so I’d prefer not to. The benefits are insane compared to what’s standard.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure. yeah. How about you turn off the freaking noise generator and we can talk?”
“Hm.” Batman obliges, and he takes the stool next to Danny at his gesture.
“Number one, I’m not a meta. Despite all the data and conclusions you’ve probably drawn otherwise. Number two, I’m on your side. I’m here to work on the base, that’s it. I follow your rules to the letter.”
“The-“
“The classified files I looked at? Yeah that was the one exception. You already know what I looked at, I’m sure, but maybe you haven’t figured out why. It goes back to point one- I may not be a meta, but I am something that organization, the GIW, cares about. I looked at your files on them to sus out your relations. Seeing as I don’t particularly love being the victim to twelve degrees of human rights violations if I can avoid it.”
“Hm.” The Ghost Intelligence Ward was one of many government agencies that the Justice League hadn’t worked closely with. But they also hadn’t been flagged for Justice League investigation. Danny’s comments made him doubt that call.
“Any other questions?”
“If you’re not a meta, what are you?”
“I’m an engineer. A pretty decent one. And I’d really, really like it to stay that way.”
Batman considers, and ultimately lets him stay. He likes Danny (everyone likes Danny), and it would be a massive pain in the ass to replace him. He really is a good engineer.
It’s only much later that his faith in Danny is repaid in spades.
Batman finds Danny on the Watchtower command bridge. Alarms are blaring, the station has been knocked out of orbit, out the window there’s shrapnel floating everywhere as a space battle rages around them.
On the station it’s chaos. Technicians run around, shouts from the med bay, sparks from the walls.
Batman and Danny stand at the main controls, watching the battle outside, stoic, unmoving.
Wonder Woman’s harried voice crackles through on coms: “We need backup.”
“There is no more backup.” Batman replies, while looking pointedly at Danny.
“What?”
Batman doesn’t move.
“What.”
“The impact from Darkseid’s initial attack should have sent this station on a terminal trajectory toward the planet.”
“Well. We aren’t currently plummeting to our deaths, so turns out it didn’t do that.”
“You did something.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re lying.”
“Maybe Superman nudged us back on course in all the chaos.”
“I’ve been watching the trackers. No one else with the capability has come near the station.”
“Can’t you just be grateful we got lucky?”
Sounds of peril screech over the coms. Danny’s face scrunches.
“Luck had nothing to do with it. As it is now, we are going to lose this fight.”
“Isn’t there anyone else you can call?”
“I’m asking you. You can help, can’t you?”
The glare-off lasts a long moment more before Danny breaks.
“Fuck. Fuckity fuck.” Danny runs his hands through his hair. “Shit. You don’t know what you’re asking.”
“I’m asking you to save this and countless other worlds from a genocide. I’m also asking you to save my friends.”
Danny looks at him, hard, weary, and with a kind of deep resolve that feels far too ancient to be on the face of a supposed twenty-something.
“Fine. Fine. Okay.” He steps back and transforms. If Batman is surprised when he shakes off his human appearance like an old coat, he doesn’t show it. But what’s undeniable is the being in Danny’s place has the unmistakable presence of power.
“No one else can know.” His voice echoes in a way that’s sonically impossible, both sounding closer and further away than he should be.
He pulls a gear-shaped medallion seemingly out of thin air and puts it over his head in one motion.
“If I get in trouble for this, I’m blaming you.”
He vanishes. Outside, the shape of the battle changes instantly. The stars seem to glow brighter as the arms of the galaxy flash with the colors of the aurora. Then it’s like the void of space itself comes alive. It moves the spaceships back like they’re toys, plucking them from one side of the field to the other. It finds Darkseid at the heart of the chaos and massive arms of nothingness and darkness wrap around him. He’s screaming as it swallows him whole.
His armies scatter. The battle turns. The JL deal with the stragglers, but the air of relief is palpable.
Danny reappears next to Batman, once again donning his grease-stained coveralls. Arms folded.
“Happy?”
It took all of five minutes. Less, probably. Batman tamps down a thousand questions.
“Thank you.”
“I’m gonna need two weeks off minimum.” Danny snaps. “One to deal with the bureaucratic nightmare you’ve just caused me, and another to recover from the headache.”
Batman blanks. “Granted.”
Danny sighs. “And I’m not fixing the station until I’m back. It won’t fall out of the sky as is. Make up whatever excuse you want.”
“Done.” He considers. “I would prefer to tell them the truth. That you saved us.”
Danny glares. “I’m not supposed to save you. I made a pact not to use my power to influence the mortal realm.”
“A pact with who?”
Danny rolls his eyes. “The embodiment of Time. The concept of Justice. Among others.” He smirks at Batman’s confusion.
“And what, exactly, does that make you?”
He stands, framed by the space window, haloed by the stars. “I’ll give you three guesses.”
Batman frowns.
“Look. I like you guys. I like working on your base. I like supporting the work you do. But you can not go factoring me in to any of your plans or contingencies. This was a one time thing.
“So to answer your question again: I’m an engineer.”

A kofi gave me free reign to redraw a scene from TOH and I've been thinking about this since we found out King's dad has been watching and loving him this whole time - I'm 100% sure he said hi back 🥺
(bgs are edited from the show)
[Image Description: Six drawings. The first three are a redraw of a scene from The Owl House. King sits on a ship and looks out at the body of the Titan. He raises an arm and says “Um… hi.” The next three drawing show the Titan watching the scene on a cube in the In-Between Realm. He tenderly replies, “Hi.” The piece has a watermark that reads “kaereth. Do not repost.” End Description. Description by quailfence.]
