This game was fun! But flawed, much to my chagrin.

I’m making a series of videos about it. Not a playthrough, although I originally intended to do one; this video showcases the Character Creator and some of the Conquest choices you can make!

X-Com 2 patch deployed, breaks game for some
Tumblr media
First, let’s take a look at what the hotfix actually achieves:
-Player is unable to progress to scan in the Geoscape after completing the Resistance Communications research via Tutorial – This will fix previously affected saves. -Unable to load saves with a Chryssalid Cocoon – This will fix the issue, and for previously affected saves. -Adjustments were made to Texture Streaming to assist with periodic frame spikes. -Using the preview voice button for a modded voice pack will no longer crash the game when in the armory. -Removed 8x MSAA from default Max settings.
All that sounds just peachy, doesn’t it? Well, things are a bit more complicated than that, it turns out - lots of people reportedly see no improvements in the framerate. Better yet, some of those that were lucky enough to have X-Com 2 work without any problems after launch, are reporting that their own framerate is going haywire after this latest patch.
Not to mention that the patch crashes with many of the more useful mods, or so I’ve heard.
Another nail in the coffin comes down to the fact that this is the first hotfix since the game came out, almost a month ago. And when you get right down to it, the hotfix really doesn’t do too much to...fix things.
That’s not to say that X-Com 2 isn’t a terribly addicting video game, better than its predecessor was on launch in virtually every way...at least as far as I’ve gotten, with my four hours of playtime. If you want to check it out, you can take a look at my video:

Uprooted: A wonderful fantasy novel you should be reading right about...now
Tumblr media
There is something about the woods, some primordial fear that has been nagging away at all of us, at the entirety of humanity, long before we learned to create fires, long before we began making tools; a fear that's been with us since our very inception, as evident in that most precious of folklore sources - fairy tales. Uprooted blends fantasy and fairy tale seemlessly, in rich and imaginative ways. Our young protagonist, Agniezska, is a completely charming protagonist, and above all else, she feels completely, and absolutely real. The novel is written from her point of view, and it couldn't be the better for it. And while I love Niezska to bits, I must admit that one other character completely stole the spotlight in every page he was in... *drums, please*...that's right, it's The Dragon himself, Sarkan! (I know that the name translates into 'the Dragon', yes!) This should come to no surprise if you know me - I've a penchant for people that go by that monicker, and I've long been in love with brilliantly written sorcerers. This one, you'll discover, is stone cold on the outside, but, as often happens, there's far more to his story than "Cruel 150 years-old sorcerer". There is so much to love in Uprooted, even if we forget about the excellent characters for a moment. For one, the novel is, at times, far darker than you'd originally assume; that doesn't stop it from being a delightfully amusing read. If anything, Uprooted is something of an emotional roller coaster. Odds are, you'll love every minute of it. That said, if you've an unnatural fear of the Woods (and of good literature), this book is not for you. For the rest of you...please, read this book.

Today, in gaming! Halo 5, Total War: Ham, Overwatch!
So, I make vlogs. Don’t stop reading!
In said vlogs, I talk about games! Today, I spoke about Overwatch’s Beta, the possibility of Halo 5 coming to PC, and the DLC bullocks that Creative Assembly is pulling - six months before the release of Total War: Warhammer. Oh, and Overkill Software, developer of Payday 2 decides to go back on the microtransaction bullocks! Good start, not enough!
For all that, and more, check this video out!

I’m still new at this; I probably suck. If you’d like to give me any advice, lemme know!

Why Life is Strange is a great game
Tumblr media
Life is Strange is, underneath all the time-travel and mystery, a beautiful story about friendship. It is a story about the strength of the bond between two very different girls. It is far from perfect, but it is very, very good on the merit of its characters.
And those characters come alive in somewhat unexpected ways, considering that they start out as little more than stereotypes. There are few stronger compliments I can give to the writing team than this –they brought the characters to life. If they hadn’t, I don’t think Life is Strange would’ve worked, at all.
If you’d like to know more about why I loved Life is Strange, feel free to watch my video about it. I really, really hope you’ll like it!

Well, then. DICE's take on Star Wars Battlefront. Do you love Star Wars? If the answer to that one is a big, loud "YES", you will probably enjoy it. If you like both Star Wars and good multiplayer shooters, you might have to think twice before you decide to pick Battlefront up, when it eventually comes out on November 17.
