From my “words with depth” board on Pinterest. I love collecting words like this because often times I don’t realize there are words for such feelings and situations.
Shout out to all my fellow Cloud Walkers by the way 🖤

For Aquarius season, it’s a great time to make homemade runes for divination. I’ve also listed a couple runic systems that aren’t as popular as the Futhark system, but are just as powerful and full of magic. ♥️🌙

I’m a little late, but hey, this shadow work is for the entirety of the Aquarius Moon Cycle, not just during the New phase.

It’s ironic (in the best way) that Capricorn Season rules January, the month of New Beginnings and the New Year. Maybe it’s the energy of Capricorn that influences us to make New Year resolutions. A New Year resolution is the attempt to start living in alignment with what your spirit needs and what you value.

The journal prompt below is lengthy, but I really think it’s worth trying out. When I did it for myself, it put a lot into perspective for me. Of course I’m no psychologist and the prompts I share are simply just what I come up with for myself. But I share just in case… just in case it can help someone else like it helped me.

The artwork of Brian Froud that tugged on the heart strings I didn’t know I had.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Not every image is from the Faeries Oracle, but all images are that of Brian Froud and his brilliance)
Tumblr media
“In the heart of the forest stands an old oak tree Existing through centuries, rooted in history Only if you believe will it let you see The magic that lives beneath it’s bark and within it’s leaves There at the center of its massive trunk Will be a wooden door, unlike any other one If brave enough to enter, you will see That another world exists, just beyond the trees”

Brian Froud is my favorite artist. I’ll never forget the summer of 2020. I spent it on the river getting to know The Faeries Oracle Deck, written by Jessica MacBeth and illustrated by Brian Froud. When I bought the deck, I had no idea that it would unlock an innocence within me that i thought to be dead and gone. There is magic in these images. So much magic, wonder, brilliance and beauty. Brian Froud gives us a face to attach to the Fae, nature spirits and elementals. It’s as if he’s giving us a peak into a realm that absolutely exists around us, but cannot be seen with the naked eye. Maybe it’s not important that we see the Faeries, maybe feeling them with our heart is what really matters. The Faeries Oracle Deck gave me permission to let myself believe in faeries/nature spirits/elementals etc. I spent an entire summer on the shores of the river, exploring the deck and talking to the Faeries around me. At first, I felt silly and stupid for talking to the air. I think we’re conditioned to believe that it’s seen as silly and mentally unstable to believe in such things as an adult. But it didn’t take long before I began to feel something different and unusual, in the best way. The empty air began to feel more full and alive. By talking to the Faeries, I was inviting their presence. I felt them all around me and began to see them with my minds eye. I regained my childlike innocence and sparks of creative inspiration were popping off left and right. I connected to a source that I would not have connected to if not for Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth. And for that, i am forever gratful, beyond belief or words.
Tumblr media
There came a time when life resumed after the pandemic. I didn’t get to go to the river as often as usual. One day I went back after being away for a while. I was kind of devastated to discover that what was once a magical place full of invisible life now felt empty and vacant. I couldn’t feel the Faeries anymore and i chalked it up to it all being in my mind to begin with. It discouraged me for a little while until I decided to put effort in trying to connect to them again. Maybe it is all in my mind, or maybe.. just maybe, the Faeries were pissed at me for leaving them for so long. Turns out that they’re a lot like us, according to the Oracle deck, the Faeries take things personally, and you should never break the promises you make to them. I broke a few promises to the Faeries, and I had to work for their forgivness so that they may grace me with their presence again. Eventually they did, and I haven’t lost them since.
Tumblr media
This could all just be the ramblings of a 29 year old chick who so desperately wants Faeries to be real. I could be delusional, mentally ill or silly. Or maybe Faeries exist when you allow yourself to believe that they do, and interact with them like you would an old friend. Maybe allowing yourself to believe in magic is what makes it real in the first place. One thing I do know, is that i want my life to be full of magic and possibility, because that makes life worth living to me.
Tumblr media
And if you’ve read everything, thanks for listening. ♥️ 🧚 Now go get your copy of the Faeries Oracle so that you may feel what I felt 4 years ago at the River, and still to this day.

This pact might not be for everyone. With the new year approaching, I’ve been reflecting on my journey thus far. I’ve been stagnant and stuck, mostly financially, my whole life. I know that I need change and to develop better habits in the realms of financial and physical health. I decided I’d ask the Gods for a little help on the upcoming night of October 31st, the Witches New Year, a sacred time for a lot of people.
Then it dawned on me. I’ve been asking for, and receiving, blessings my whole entire life. But what have I done to give back? I can’t even count the number of times that the 6 of Pentacles and the Queen of Pentacles have shown up in readings for what seems like a year now. There have been other signs and omens, too. It’s time to give back.
I think I’ve received more blessings than I deserve, and it’s time that I start giving blessings in return. I take more than I give, and I already have everything I need to be successful and move forward. I’m stuck and stagnant because of me. And maybe giving back is that fuel I need to begin showing up for myself, accepting responsibility and taking accountability for my lack of growth as of late. There are many things I don’t like about myself, and a part of me feels like I’m not worth the effort. Maybe giving back will help me feel a little more valuable and worthy of living a healthier, happier life.
More importantly, giving back is my way of saying thank you to the Gods, who have never left me to fight alone. If I can give back to others, in even the smallest way, I guess my life is worth living. And maybe the person on the other end of the blessing will feel the same way about their own life.
I am not perfect. I never will be. I can be selfish, gluttonous, unreliable, irresponsible, I’m a true escapist and a recovering addict. At least I know my darkness well, how else would I be able to replace it with some light?
A positive habit I’d like to instill this year is generosity. Giving blessings when and where I can.
So here’s to putting one foot in front of the other. The first step taken in a very long time. And if you can relate to what I’m saying, then hey, maybe this pact is for you, too. Remember that you are a good person with good intentions, maybe you were just given burdens that were never yours to carry, and those burdens bred characteristics that you might not be proud of. But there is no need to feel ashamed. Because even our darkness is valuable, if we learn to use it in the right ways.

Well it’s that time of year again! I just wanted to tell anyone who might find this post a little bit about myself and who I am. Im literally just a small town nobody who shares her own ideas and practices on the internet. I am no teacher, in fact I’m still a student. I’ve only really had my hands in the craft for 6 years, and in truth I think that still makes me a baby. Take all that I post lightly, I only post the ideas I come up with for myself in hopes it might inspire others.
When I first started doing spells and rituals (I usually refer to spells/rituals as “altar sessions”) I would copy other rituals and spells I found online and in books. This helped me to get an understanding of what I was doing, which magical tool is used for what and the art of writing incantations. But copying rituals and spells stressed me out. I had to have everything prepared ahead of time and If one thing went wrong, if I didn’t do it exactly the way it had to be done, I believed that all the magic would be lost and the spell/ritual would be ineffective.
One night, after a busy week, I looked up at the night sky and saw that the moon had gone completely dark. It was a New Moon night and I’d forgotten all about it. I didn’t prepare or look into any spells or rituals to preform. At that time, I was doing all these intricate spells and rituals every new and full moon. Something I learned eventually was not all that sustainable. Anyway, that night I sat in front of my altar with zero preparation for what I was about to do. I had no choice but to let my intuition call the shots, and that’s what I did.
That was the altar session that helped me to realize that all the stress and preparation that I did every month, twice a month, was what was really draining the magic from every altar session I’ve ever had until that night. This altar session was the most powerful one I’d ever had, and I walked away feeling more connecting to the higher powers that, I believe, pull the strings. With all the knowledge and information I acquired from the spells and rituals I’d found online and in books, I decided to start letting my intuition do the work, and I’ve been doing that ever since.
The things I share are all the spells/rituals I’ve done using my intuition. I go back to these rites often and I reuse them because they work for me. Last year I decided to start sharing them. I don’t share them because I recommend that this is what you have to do. I share them because when I was just starting out, it was the information I found online and in books that helped me to start crafting my own altar sessions. It is my hope that maybe my posts can help inspire others who are just starting out, like I was 6 years ago.
You do not have to copy anything to a T. You can switch things up and make it your own altar session using the things that speak to you the most. Let your intuition be your guide and remember that the magic is not lost, as long as you believe in it. Don’t stress yourself out over perfection, because perfection simply does not exist. To me, the craft is essentially the act of using earthly materials, (whether it be tools, herbs, words, images, visualization or meditation) to connect to the divine, or whatever higher power you believe in. You have complete freedom to mix and match whatever you’d like in order to establish your special connection with the divine.
If someone tells your you’re doing it wrong, don’t take that to heart. As long as you are not harming others or the earth, there is no wrong way to practice your craft. You are doing just fine and you’ll only get better as time goes on.
Happy New Year ♥️

I’m reposting this after editing out a few things. In my original post, I had glitter added to the ingredient list for two of these herb mixes and I was informed that glitter is toxic to burn! It’s my fault for not researching that and I feel really bad about it. So anyway, please do not burn glitter because it’s plastic, and plastic is of course toxic to burn!
When burning the herbs, make sure to use a fire proof dish/bowl and I recommend using a charcoal disk to burn them. Always use diluted essential oils and you don’t have to use a lot, either. Only a drop or two of each oil will do the trick. You don’t want to drench your herbs in the oil, the oil is only for scent. Always burn the mixtures in a well ventilated area. Open your windows or burn them outside. You don’t have to add the oils in at all if you don’t want to. It’s up to you! Be safe and be careful and you’ll be just fine.
I only post these mixtures because they’re what I personally use. It’s fun for me and I enjoy sharing what I create. Always do your own research to decide if it’s something you feel comfortable using and burning in your environment. And of course, do not burn glitter. I feel ashamed and saddened that I didn’t realize it was so toxic to burn. I guess we live and we learn. ♥️

If you’ve never heard of the Somnia Tarot Deck by Nikolas Bruno, you have now. It’s a deck that strikes you when you see it for the first time. It stands out amongst the rest, and you can’t stop thinking about it until the day you decide to buy it. That’s how it was for me, anyway. The guidebook isn’t lengthy at all, and to my surprise, the inspiration for this deck is what the author sees during sleep paralysis. The guidebook talks a lot about his experience with sleep paralysis and how each card plays a role in said experiences. Aside from the guidebook, the true beauty of the deck is the imagery. Photography is a favorite medium of mine for tarot/Oracle decks, and the Somnia Tarot Deck does not disappoint.
As you can see from the cards presented here, I’m going through changes 😅 Anyway, I had to post about this deck, just in case someone else makes a connection with it like I did. You can find it on Etsy.
