I am sick and fucking tired of setting my dreams to the side. I have always been someone who will go out of the way to help someone else. I know I am a very kind person and will do what I can to help, but I am done setting my dreams and passions aside. They are always screaming at me. Yelling at me to do something. I have always set them aside for practicality and safety. To make sure that I can make enough money to survive. I am tired of surviving. I WANT TO THRIVE! I want to turn my passions into my career and live the way I want! I want to be able to take breaks when I need to help others and take care of myself. I want to be able to be there for the people I love. Don’t get me wrong. I am very grateful for all of the blessings I have. I am thankful for all of the opportunities I have received and the ones that I have taken. Over my life I have let my fears dictate what decisions I make and how I need to live my life. I know now that sometimes you have to go all or nothing to actually make your dreams come true. That you can’t have anything to fall back on because that will only distract you from reaching your dreams. There have been many times where I have been put into the position where I can’t turn back and nothing to land on. In this times I learned that I had to force my way forward and make the path. A lot of the time you can’t follow someone else’s path because that is not your path to take. Following someone’s footsteps for inspiration is not bad, but trying to imitate them completely will not lead you to your own success. I know the path I take and what I want to do with my life will require me to take a one way street. I have to give myself no where to turn back, because this will force me to find a way to reach my dreams. I will be forced to claw my way forward. I truly do believe that this is what I need to do. I am 31 years old now. Throughout my whole life these dreams have been screaming at me. I believed I could reach them until I graduated high school. Then life forced me to take the “secure” path. Here and now I am willing to risk it all! I am determined to make my dreams come true! I will make it so my friends and family will never have to work about money! I will make a positive impact in the world! I am done waiting for a chance! I will make my own chances! I WILL MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE!

The quote really hits home for me because I have lived majority of my life in wanting to have security. Which isn’t a bad thing. We should all strive to have happy and fulfilling lives. The question I ask is does that security bring you happiness? I worked a job with security and found myself suffocating from it. I was a cog in a machine that gets the job done, but mentally and emotionally it drained me completely. At this time I heard this quote from Jim Carrey and I took the risk. I willingly took a leap of faith knowing that I would have immediate problems. What I learned from my risk is that I was much happier with those consequences and doing something I love to do.
