the problem with how people characterize narumitsu is that they only see them as the grumpy and the sunshine ship dynamic, so they end up writing phoenix as a golden retriever and miles as an old gay queen.

but like, phoenix is such a bitch. the bitchiest bitch that ever bitched, actually. he enjoys sarcasm and trash talking, but he has this thing called "situational awareness", so he knows not to behave like a massive cunt in front of people involved in a murder investigation

on the other hand miles gets easily flustered and his fight or flight response to being caught off guard is spitting a venomous comeback. but in his head he's making puns. he's thinking about how the plants are beautiful. he's like an easily spooked horse who is also a dork that gets into a staring contest with a dog. and then loses

This is my lil persona ace attorney character Versper Onus. They are a defense attorney and treat most everyone they come across very fairly. They inadvertently give off this intimidating aura. Really they're just a mushy pile of emotions and dramatic gestures. Kicking round there swishy pants, feigning fainting, dancing around in the defendants lobby when no one is looking. They also come ludicrously prepared for every situation and often carrier around a big bag full of shit that they'll probably never need. This also applies to court trials. They are always double triple checking everything they need for the trial. You could call them a well spring of evidence by the start of the first trial. Their folders are not neat though, so they have to go digging through so much random notes on shit that it kind of becomes encumbering at some point and they just have to spread it all out on the stand. By the end of the trial, they have the evidence laid out in perfect chronological order and catalog to specific sections all over the bench; before they have to scoop it all up and shove it back into their folder again to which it just completely gets messed up. Their also very paranoid when it comes to timing, which is why they always arrive to anything 10 minutes before. You can count on the fact that they'll never be late.

(They also have some pretty bad dyslexia so they'll be reading something out loud to the court and they'll say it incorrectly or in the wrong order. ((Especially with numbers))💀)

I don't think about them much anymore unfortunately but it's nice to get a refresher.

I concur- *is that really all I have to add to this?* They covered all the bases really well in this post and I full stop agree and will be calling those arcs rehabilitation and or reconciliation from now on. Thank you for changing my veiw of the world!

I think I really prefer the term "rehabilitating' for a villain who's going through a character arc and becoming a better person, over 'redeeming'.

Not only does it take away the culturally christian connotations that "redeeming" has, but rehabilitating also better shows the context of, you know, actually putting in the work and effort to overcome their problems.

From now on, for me, it's not a "villain redemption arc" its a "villain rehabilitation arc."

My gripes with 'Strong' handshakes.

Okay- yall idk if I'm crazy for thinking this, BUT I think the standards of, "You must give everyone you meet a 'strong' handshake," to be dumb and uncomfortable. What's wrong with my more gentle, polite handshakes, huh? What- is it a crime? No? Then why do I have to redo the handshake? Because you specifically didn't like it? Well, tough luck buckaroo. If you don't like it, you can keep it to yourself. Or stop talking to me, whichever one's more convenient.

Petition to stop making the 'hand crushing' handshakes the norm, and adopt dainty princess handshakes once more.
