Touchstarved Kickstarter #51 Update

Basically if anyone has seen the latest update for Kickstarter the devs gave us a new Ais sprite above the link for Kickstarter backers to see the timeline and progress on the game.

Without spoilers since I don't know if the devs will publicly post an explanation on the progress of the game and scheduled timeline. So, I try to not share to much info just the general knowledge as a heads up for (NON-BACKERS).

1.The devs have worked their butts off for the past 3 years and will continue without burning themselves out since they have a new organized scheduler to help them out.

2.For the progression on all parts of the game such as Narrative, voice acting, art and implementation, systems and testing, and the release plan is fairly still in motion to which there will be monthly updates for Kickstarter backers to see the (%) of work to be revised or nearly finished.

3.Early backers will still get the full game early than general backers so that part has not change. Including I'm guessing beta backers will continue to help point out any bugs (the beta part was not mentioned in update just a general guess on my part).

4.And of course the dev's sincerely mentioned that they wholeheartedly appreciate the support and community questions even though they can't always respond the comments are shared with every person working on touchstarved as encouragement.

5. Now lastly, the most important news besides any spoilers that I have decided to leave out of this post. The release of the FULL game will be pushed to the year 2026, the exact release date for early backers, general backers, non-backers is (TBD). Most of the reasoning being the game grew to be more expansive, while complex in terms of outgrowing the original scope the devs had beforehand. Same vision just lots of positive development the game turned out to be. Furthermore, to put it simply that the devs want to give the touchstarved fandom justice by not rushing anything in order to have a marvelous full completed gameplay for those that payed and those that have waited.

I hope this wasn't too much info but I also didn't want to spoil to much since there was another thing that non backers probably won't be seeing yet except for Kickstarter backers. But I think it is only fair (in my opinion) to at least let non backers know the general goal to keep in mind and that the devs highly appreciate the patience and support.

Finally finished getting all the endings and CGs for Casper. And loved the art book and future goals the devs have to introduce later on with their other games and ideas for 2025. However when I was playing the game and got to the part of caspers favorite noodles..........

Rime Route Update (I'm back!)

Sorry for the unannounced hiatus I was sick three times in a row in November and had exams. Then was celebrating the holidays and recovering. And after the new year started classes. Instead, I finally finished the second part of the rough draft for the Rime route prologue. It's not much but I might do a rewrite later after I finish the prologue. Peppermint Trail

Small footprints grew faint in the fallen snow without an echo of a doubt.

The sun reflects across the cascading river like a lost gem.

In the crisp cold air, the smell of peppermint wafts the empty forest.

It is near.

You stroll past the swirling auburn trees toward an open, large clearing.

Woodland creatures scurry all around you…waiting….

Watching.

Mint leaves crunch beneath your winter boots.

You marvel at the humongous snowy mountains.

It sees you from afar.

The clouds above turn greyish, snowflakes falling like a white blanket on the winter forest.

You hear a waterfall nearby; you stop in your tracks.

It stops to watch you from behind a tree.

You no longer hear the forest creatures.

It waits.

You continue to walk up the trail between the mountains.

Slowly it leaves.

You finally make it to the edge of the forest; all you smell is peppermint at the end of the trail.

You take a step to leave.

You see the person enter the forest.

Their footprints leave a peppermint trail behind; you follow from afar.

The forest seems alive like usual.

You wait…watch…the person takes a step to leave…. you are the only one to leave peppermint trail.

Rime Route Announcement

AoT Final Ending (Part 2)

2. Continued:

a.) Annie I was okay if she lived because she had a simple goal. Get back to her dad and like Eren she wanted to complete her promise. And she was like only used at the end and only for season 1 so I had no attachment to her character.

b.) And like I said in my last post about Mikasa and Eren farewell was creepy for some, but I think it showed Ymir to let go and break the curse. Here's another thing I want to point out is that I had thought this could have been avoided if Ymir had simply killed the king in the beginning but oh well plot.

c.) Now the alternative two scenarios I had in mind. First Eren just killing the 80% of humanity he promised which is fucked up I know but I can see it playing out and being a better ending.

d.) Or Eren dying but listen to this..... instead this is how it plays out:

Yeagerist infiltrate Marley and find Zeke's spinal fluid.

Survey corps spy and kidnap inventors like cars and nuclear weaponists to interview or investigate them.

Historia sending personal assassins to collect the Marley's rich and world leaders.

Having Eren destroy the tree so nobody can have the titan power in the future except historia and her descendants.

Historia should have had a baby with Eren or Armin because she could have passed down the founding titan or colossal titan to her descendants in case of future warfare. In addition, she would have the founding titan to see into the future and make sure no one else will hurt Eldian's again. Here why...my next point

If Eren had only used one of the walls of titans (cause releasing all the wall titans was overkill like Armin said) he could have wiped out everyone just as much as destroying all the military bases and armies. While destroying the tree and leaving the wall defenses (aka the wall titans for historia to control or descendants in case of an emergency)

Eren power {founding titan power} we know eren can see into the past to future. We know he can only speak to eldians which he could have erased their minds completely or told them the whole truth. I do agree with wiping out all the nine titans but the founder. And to break the curse like I said was to kill Eren so Ymir could move on. Of course, Marley will still hate the eldians that would never change.

For example, "if any Marley fuck with us we will start another rumbling again if needed so back the fuck off and we good" basically is what historia should have told the entire world after killing Eren and inheriting the founding titan. Also, the Marley would never know fully about the extent of the titan's power or if they can replace the wall titans after using some. Plus having Zeke's spinal fluid as a backup threat just in case if someone infiltrated to kill the founding titan they would be killed when forced to transform so to keep people at bay. A fucked up ending or way to preserve the island but necessary in my mind.

Then again at the end of the story it would have showed Armin after a four-year time skip and the eldians living their peaceful lives. Yes, war is still going on but their dealing with it the best they can to spread the word of peace and where the wall was broken should be a gate to go in and out as they please to see the world. It should have been Armin looking out beyond their home and back at the gate and saying, "See you later Eren or we finally got peace for now." A still bittersweet ending with the same message but still clears everything up a bit.

Again, this was just a scenario I thought of and wanted to share my final thoughts on the ending. No matter what I still enjoyed the story.

AoT Final Ending (Part 1)

First of all it's been a wild ride. Would I rewatch the show absolutely, 100%. This story was a masterpiece, not perfect, yet satisfying in some cases.

Before I give my thoughts on the ending. I want everyone to know this is just my opinion and my own criticism. Not purely negative to the author. And at the end of the day you either hate or love the ending. You don't have to agree with me or lash out at others for liking or disliking an ending. I'm in between both with my view of the message of the story and what was accomplished to reach an end goal. And the missing pieces or overlooked plot material.

This might be multiple posts but I'm going to try my best to break down my perspective If the whole ending and my final outlook on the story. Lastly, there are spoilers in this post so please be aware when reading from this point on and forward.

Spoilers ahead........

1. Final ending Review and opinion:

• If you watched the ending you already know what happens and in the post credit scenes as well. (I will not sit here and type out ever little detail. This post is long enough.)

• Anyway, with the eldians getting wiped out at the end of the time skip still, and some kid finding the tree in the overgrown ruins just left me numb so to speak.

• Moral of the story: history repeats itself, fate is inevitable, and the cycle of hate is neverending, or peace doesn't last long. Either way the final message by the author I got from it was eren story ending and another story beginning no matter the outcome. (No I don't mean a sequel or another side story for AoT to continue like Boruto. Just no.)

• In reality there is very little anime or stories that end bitterly like this. Similar to stories like death note, code glass, fate night, and so on. Although, in truth this would be a realistic ending in our world. Plus, as an author (not saying I am good writer or author yet myself) the author himself got to complete his story and wrote the ending he wanted to write or close to it in his head. As a fan of his work I will respect his ending in terms of he told a story the way he wanted to tell it. And you may not like it or dislike it but you have to admit the anime was written well in some points. And that's okay.

2. Alternate scenario/plot and angsty criticism.

• Like I said before I am okay with the ending but I necessarly feel like it could be improved upon in a FANFICTION. The thing that bothers me the most with the ending (I know I will get hate for this in the comments) Levi should have died. Do NOT get me wrong he is peak character for me. I just feel like this man has suffered enough. Let's be real he is stuck in a wheelchair all fucked up. Yes, he could still live his life out with the others, hear me out he is just alone. He has trauma and PTSD for the rest of his life like everyone else, obviously. But when he saw his comrades and family I felt like after he killed zeke he should have died so he could be in peace. That's just how I feel at the moment. And yeah it was wholesome to hand out candy to the kids but my man exists in misery.

• Reiner and Armin should have died. Reiner was suicidal but he was done with the titan and war bullshit to the very end. And I get why eren didn't kill him and I get both sides. However, bertholt died and I feel like reiner should have too in regards of eren getting revenge for his mom and comrades (likely reiner being that 1% of humanity eren will wipe out with the rumbling.) We should have had a time skip where Armin at least should have died at the end which I'll get to that in a minute. And to leave the audience off with the promise between eren and arm in of "we are free, we made it past the walls eren, or we finally saw the ocean/world, Sayanora eren." Something like that. (Annie is for later).

• Eren dying was a no-brainer. No redemption, could have happened and I am glad it didn't because he sort of kept his word on wiping out the world. And he sacrifices himself to save his friends and family so they could love out their lives. That was his real end goal. And he accomplished that with accepting his death too. And he got to say goodbye at least and be buried.

• Now the conversation with armin and eren was nice instead I feel like eren saying "yeah, this was a stupid plan don't know why I did it" was poor writing. I think he could have stuck with his ideal and just told armin "yeah, could have played out differently or tried to talk with you guys but I chose to do this and don't regret doing what I got to do. Deal with it. Wish it could be different but it can't." Overall, I feel like it would have made moree sense in his character. Yet, still a bittersweet moment between the two.

• Yes I ship eren x mikasa. Hold on, before you all come at me like I am defending the ending over a ship. I wouldn't have mind them being friends. Of course, people say that if mikasa had told eren she loved him it would be different. Hell no, it wouldn't have because the eldians still would be all dead. ('Well eren and mikasa will live out the lives together the four years left.') That's just plain stupid. The rumbling was inevitable. And the scene with even telling mikasa to let go should have ended in him taking her from the alternate timeline to present time and saying his final goodbyes. And maybe kissing her instead of the kiss they shared after his death. The kiss didn't bother me. I did like mikasa being the one to kill eren and ymir letting go. Instead I found this to be mikasa finally being able to say goodbye to the one she loves without hesitating to save people that would still hate or praise her. Even though arm in said he killed eren at the end. Which is fine too.
