Never been skinny
In the mirror's reflection, I see
A body labeled, judged, defined.
For years, I've carried the weight
Of expectations, relentless, unkind.
From childhood's innocence
To the halls of high school's glare,
I've borne the burden of "big,"
A weight I was never meant to bear.
Diet after diet, I've tried
To mold myself into society's mold.
But each attempt only deepened
The void within, bitter and cold.
Counting calories became my ritual,
Every bite a tally, every sip a sin.
Yet the hunger within never faded,
A craving deeper than what's within.
And now, as the numbers on the scale
Begin to shrink, so does my spirit's cry.
For what good is a smaller body
If the soul within continues to die?
So let me shed not just pounds,
But the shackles of societal decree.
For true beauty lies not in size,
But in the courage to simply be.

The way he loves
It’s not the way he touches me beneath my clothes
It’s the way he always send 2 heart emojis when he says he loves me never just one
It’s the way he opens my door without a word
It’s the way his thumb curls on my hand
It’s the way he gives me his jacket when the slightest shiver touches my skin
It’s the way his arms come around my waist and his lips press the softest kiss on my neck
It’s the way he holds my hand as we pray
It’s the way that No matter what we say lt always end in I love you
It’s the way that not a day goes by without hearing him say I love you
It’s the way that No matter what I say he always says I am beautiful
It’s the way without fail that he prays faithfully
It’s the way he holds Jesus closer to his heart then anyone
It’s the way he makes me feel at ease without trying
It’s the way he loves with the love God gave him
