ADDRESSING SUMMER TROUBLES AND THE PHOTOBOOTH FF
hello, i know that both stories were just starting to get good but unfortunately my brain started to melt halfway; in other words, writers block is hitting me hard (other writers must relate). once i get more ideas for the plot i will finish it. i will take suggestions in my ask box. as though i will start working on other pieces besides these two. as of right now both summer troubles and the photobooth will remain on hold. if you have any ideas at all for the stories mentioned please dm or send it in my ask box, it's very much needed. please forgive me for not being able to finish these beautiful stories that deserve an ending, but i really hope you guys understand. as a reader myself, i know how horrible it is to trust the process of a ongoing series only to find out it is discontinued; i will NOT give up on these two stories.

SUMMER TROUBLES | 011. AT SOOBS
[WC] . 600 [WARNING] . not proof-read, fluff (may be cringy), pls lemme know if i missed anything! prev ! mlist ! next
yujin and her friends were huddled up onto soobin's queen bed, talking about her and jungwon. niki laughing as he interrupts her, "then she asked if he has a love interest!"
hanni gasped, shaking her head whilst turning to look at the girl. yujin completely embarassed, hiding herself behind jake on the dark blue comforter. "you didn't!" hanni exclaimed absolutely baffled.
soobin and jake surprised at her boldness. "i didn't know you were that bold," jake commented, patting her head as a way to comfort her. yujin peeked her head over jake's shoulder to look at hanni, "i did.. but it was totally an in moment type thing!" she defended.
"and you guy's have been calling ever since?" bahiyyih asked. to which yujin nodded shamelessly. the thought of calling jungwon was always comforting, it was something she looked forward to doing in her day.
"that's really cute, and i don't mean that in any joking way," niki said, arms up in defense in case she lashes out. her friends were genuinely happy for her, even if they tease her about it all day every day, they were glad she met someone like jungwon.
yujin sighed, resting her head on her arms, "but he said he didn't like anybody which means he doesn't like me."
niki quickly butted in, "yeah but you said he didn't know what liking someone feels like. i'm telling you he's a total green flag." niki did have a point, but yujin's alter-ego would never let her admit such a thing.
"if he doesn't know then you can't really assume anything," jake nodded in agreement, seeing where the young boy was going with. he put his hands on her shoulders shaking her lightly, "you could be his first!!"
yujin moved onto her elbows, covering her face with her hands.
"yeah, jake's right," soobin said, snapping his fingers.
"go for it girl!" hanni teased, clapping her hands in excitement, "you'll be the first one of us to have a confirmed relationship," she added, a wide smile spread across her face. not missing the chance to sneak a glance at the black haired boy beside her, soobin.
"hey!" he yelled, eye's filled with hate, judgement, and annoyance. the attention going fully onto them, "what was that?!" he rose from his spot, sitting up to tilt his head dramatically at the girl. yujin bursting out into laughter just watching them.
"fight fight fight!" niki cheered, beginning to clap. hanni hit soobin's shoulder with a hard smack. he winced loudly, clearly suffering from his actions, his hand immediately going to smooth out the feeling.
"what did i do?" he whined, shielding himself from the short haired girl. terror laced in his voice, worry and horror visibly seen on his pale face.
"oh shut up," she scolded, hand threatening to hit causing soobin to flinch.
bahiyyih stepping in, "hanni," she said through a giggle at they're antics, "calm down. we all know soobin has a hard time talking to girls."
"it's a skill issue," yujin shrugged, earning laughs around the room. a teasing smile tugging at her lips as she looked at the boy, "sorry soob."
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
a couple hours later, she found herself eating ramyeon noodles along side with jake and soobin. they were squished on the same side of the coffee table, sitting on the floor in front of the tv. the three slurped their noodles in silence, letting the movie upon them play loudly over they’re thoughts.
yujin sat criss crossed in between them, beginning to reach for her cup as she was feeling quite parched. taking minimal sips of her ice cold water, eyes glued to the television.
“yujin!” hanni squeeled, “hey niki! i’m actually gonna murder you.” she threatened, followed by screams and giggles. yujin waved her hand up, not bothering to turn to look at them.
“get out of the way!” hiyyih yelled, using her full chest voice. they were playing mario cart on the nintendo, laying on top of soobins bed.
niki let out an exasperated sigh, “well your big wario ass is taking up half of the street!!” he retorted.
“hey!” yujin shouted, taking this moment to look back at them, “you called?”
“no, i didn’t,” niki mumbled, biting his lip whilst eyes stuck on the electronic, “jungwon did.” they continued to beef, nudging each other any moment they could. the name got her ears perked up.
“hey, yujin, it’s starting to get good,” jake said, taking a glance at her. she averted her focus back to the small screen, adjusting her sitting position. putting one leg up beside her before bringing her knee closer.
although it looked like she was intrigued to the film, she was anything but. her mind was now trapped between thoughts in her head related to jungwon. she sighed at herself, what was she doing? she is supposed to be having fun with her friends.
even soobin wasn't even thinking about lindsey. so why was she thinking so much about jungwon? and why did it have to be jungwon? she shook her head, going back in for another bite of her noodles.
"are you guys done eating?" soobin asked, breaking her out of her thoughts. jake nodded before sliding over his bowl to him, "i can take it to the sink."
"oh um yeah," yujin said, handing him the bowl that contained the smallest amount of noodles left. the dark brown haired girl yawned while covering her mouth. "are you spending the night here?"
"i don't know," jake shrugged, his eyes twinkling at the idea of having a sleepover, "you think soob would let us?" he asked curiously. yujin could tell that he was growing excited, making her smile.
"i have no clue," she laughed, shaking her head at vision of her asking for jake, "you should bring it up." studying jake's face to see if he'd agree. he pursed his lips at her, considering the pro's and con's on asking him running through his head.
he tsked at her, turning his upper body back to the tv as a way to block her endearing eyes away from him. "i'll ask him when he comes back," he mumbled, giving into her. yujin smiled at the boy's actions. deciding to keep her eyes on him for a moment longer before gazing back at the tv.
jake found himself sulking in fluster at his best friend. for some reason, he always gave in to her— not that it was a problem or anything. nonetheless he tried but every time he attempts to say no or oppose the idea, he can't.

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 018. INTIMACY
[WC] . 1000 [WARNING] . profanity... pls lemme know if i missed anything! prev ! mlist ! next
beep. beep. beep. beep. beep. beep.
misaki groaned at the buzzing, vibrating alarm, reaching her arm out to the direction of the device to shut it off. once discovering its location, she stopped the timer before turning back around to be met with sunghoon.
his eyes were closed, he was sound asleep. his bangs clinging to his forehead, beads beginning to form. he was sweating. misaki began to get up before he wrapped his arms around her to keep her from leaving.
"please stay," he mumbled, bringing her closer to his chest.
"hoon," she spoke quietly in a whisper, pulling away to look at him. his eyes still closed shut, "you're sweating, let me open the window."
"no," he shook his head, "i'm okay."
she palmed his forehead, lightly pushing him away, "no, you're not. i'm opening the window," misaki stated, prompting herself up with her elbows before walking to the window beside her closet. sunghoon watched her, feeling the bed relax beside him.
she slid open the window with a grunt, the wind slowly making it's way in. she turned to the bed, going back to lay down beside him. letting the comforter swallow her whole, laying on her right side to face him. his arm under her cheek like a pillow.
sunghoon took this moment to admire her. for some reason he couldn't fathom life before her. if anything he felt like he wasn't living until he met her. he missed this. he missed her. his hand slowly creeping under her hoodie to her lower hip, examining her face to make sure she wasn't uncomfortable in anyway.
his touch sent a shiver down her spine, the thought of stopping him leaving her mind. the small contact made her heart feel weird. she couldn't recognize it, and oddly enough it also made her hold her breath.
she grew worried, wondering if he could hear it. if he could hear how fast her heart was beating just because of one small touch. misaki couldn't fathom the feeling he was making her inhabit.
they're eyes stuck to each other, not bothering to look away. it was as if they couldn't. that they didn't want to, or was it that they didn't need to?
sunghoon continued to caress her in a slow manner, the affection was more than he could ask for. simply the exception of being allowed to touch her was a lot. it was everything.
"is.. is this okay?" he asked quietly in a whisper. his voice was raspy and deep, tickling her ears. she smiled, nodding her head. the action wasn't enough, he needed to be sure she was comfortable, "please say its okay."
"it's okay," she told him, matching his volume. she scooted closer, if that was even possible, closing the gap between them. "can.." she started, "i hug you?"
he laughed quietly, pulling her closer by wrapping his arm around her lower back. their chests touching, his hand tangling into her hair. misaki buried her face into his chest, enveloping him in her arms. the atmosphere now filled with comfort and appreciation of each other's presence.
the void of absence of her now gone, "thank you," she said, "for staying."
"of course," he nodded, his chin touching the top of her head, "i'll do whatever you ask me to," he mumbled honestly. should i have said that? he asked himself.
she could feel him tense up slightly, smiling to herself, "like what?" she asked teasingly. the idea alone was infinite, it was dreamy- almost too good to be true.
"anything, you name it."
"well you can't do everything i ask you," misaki said, but at least to her that was true. a million thoughts running through her head, even the bad ones that she didn't miss to acknowledge. her smile melting off her lips.
"yeah.." he agreed, sighing at the truth. he knew he couldn't do everything she asked him to do, but he could always try. it wasn't impossible. "i guess you're right, but i can guarantee that i will try to."
misaki nuzzled her head into his shirt, tightening her grip around him. for some reason she wanted to be closer. she enjoyed the love she got when she's around him. she enjoyed the comfort, warmth, tenderness feeling he gave her.
nevertheless, she enjoyed him.
"sunghoon," she mumbled, her cheek against his chest. hesitantly, she pressed her right ear against him, closing her eyes at the sound of his heart beating. the thumping was like someone knocking into her ear. it reminded her that he was here, that this was real.
"yeah?" he asked, feeling her against him. sunghoon was slowly heating up more than before, feeling nearly flustered by her actions. he could only anticipate so much. she was behaving different than when they were dating. when they were dating, it seemed like misaki would hold herself back.
she wasn't clingy, she didn't ask for anything that sounded like too much, she let him determine everything. thinking about it now, misaki always put his validation before hers. but in this moment, it's different.
in this moment, she's seeking for empathy.
she could feel him talk against her, vibrating along her, bringing her a course of comfort. "what do you feel right now?" she whispered.
he wasn't sure what to say. there is an infinite amount of things he could answer with. "what i feel?" she hummed, nodding,
i feel content, i feel like all my worries are gone just by a single touch of yours. "i feel.. pleased. happy, a little nervous.." he chuckled awkwardly.
"what..? why?" she asked curiously, feeling his heartbeat increase. his warmth sinking onto her. somehow the room was getting hotter, feeling way warmer than before.
"cause you're here... with your arms around me, listening to my heartbeat.. how could i not get nervous?" he spoke softly, genuine, and almost angelic- sensing he was telling the truth, "misa.." she pulled back slightly to look up at him, "can.. can i be your boyfriend again? and.. no not a fake relationship, a real one."
misaki gawked at him, trying to read his expression. "y.. yes. you can," she mumbled, a smile creeping on her face, becoming flustered by his actions.

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 017. I BELIEVE YOU
[WC] . 3250 [WARNING] . mentions of rape and sexual assault, profanity... pls lemme know if i missed anything! prev ! mlist ! next
even though it felt like summer just started, it was about to end within 2 weeks. misaki hasn’t messaged sunghoon about meeting up yet and he’s been waiting ever-so patiently.
the summer heat has now fully engulfed sunghoon, feeling himself get tan already. beads of sweat beginning to form along his cold skin, ushering to close the window of his best friend's car. forcing on the ac. as the bestest friend he has, heeseung, was able to drive the boy to his skating practices and occasionally stay to watch.
“has she messaged you yet?” he asked.
“nope,” sunghoon sighed, rechecking his duffel bag to see if he forgot anything. he had been anticipating the moment he feels his phone vibrate, nevertheless it was never her. “i’ve actually been so patient. im surprised i haven’t messaged her yet.”
“patient.. right,” heeseung mumbled in unsureness, hands loosening on the steering wheel. he began to roll up his window as well, letting the cold air from the ac refreshen him. “would you call that being patient?”
sunghoon was lying on his stomach on heeseung’s couch, staring at his phone. no sign of misaki texting him anytime soon. he continued to lay and stare at the item as if it would summon her. jay sat against the couch on the floor while playing on the ps4 that was plugged into the back of heeseung's living room tv.
music from a nearby speaker, on the table, played various songs as the three boys surrounded themselves with each others presence. not needing to talk, they continued to do their own individual things. heeseung was sitting on a sofa chair, leaning on the armrest and legs on the other end.
“whens she gonna message me back!!” sunghoon whined, kicking the dark beige cushions, burying his face in a pillow at arms reach. he couldn't help but sulk. what's taking her so long to message, he thought.
“bro chill,” heeseung groaned, head rolling back at annoyance of his best friend. as much as he loved him, he couldn't handle this clingy, needy boy on his couch. “you’ve been staring at that phone of yours this whole time. put your phone in the phone drawer.”
jay laughed loudly at the demand, attempting to focus on mario kart, “you heard him, put the phone in the drawer.”
sunghoon tsked at his best friends before grabbing his phone, getting up to put it in the drawer. once he did, he slumped back onto the couch. his eyes subconsciously glancing back at the destination of his phone.
it wasn't long before jay was able to calm down, trying to anticipate where to drive next in his game. his eyes widening at the sight of him being on his third lap, biting his lip in hopes it would make his kart move faster.
“i could feel you staring at it from the back of my head,” jay said, adjusting his shirt due to uncomfortableness.
“oh shut up,” sunghoon retorted, smacking lightly at the back of his head, “i will literally beat the..”
ding. ding.
the phone buzzed, causing the three boys to stare at the tv stand drawer. jay taking a momentary glance before locking back into the game in front of him. heeseung turned to see sunghoon's reaction.
“no way,” heeseung laughed, getting up from the sofa cushion chair to sit normally.
sunghoon gleamed at the thought of misaki texting him. he quickly got up to retrieve the electronic device before his best friend stopped him.
“no, no, no,” jay shook his head, “the rules of the drawer is that you have to wait at least an hour.”
he stared blankly at them, clearly judging. he couldn't believe they were following that pink haired boy's stupid phone rule, “okay, why don't we just keep this a secret from sunoo!” he mumbled, a sense of urgency blended in his voice, going for the drawer.
but as he was just about to open it, he was tackled by heeseung.
“we said no!” he argued, holding back his best friend.
an hour later
“i can open it now!!” he cheered loudly, hands in fists as he declared victory. a million thoughts ran through his head. all the negative and positive sinking into his skin like needles at the ideas.
his two best friends watched him scurry to get his phone, yanking open the drawer. once he got in it his hands, he slid it open to see the only new notifications were 2 texts from heeseung.
“oh you’re gonna get it,” sunghoon yelled, tossing his phone to the floor. heeseung screeched at him, running towards his room, while bursting out into laughter.
present
“shouldn’t you hate her or something?"
sunghoon shook his head, “why should i?”
“she broke up with you without any reason,” hee explained, running a hand through his messy sleek black hair.
“well i really like her so i can’t exactly just hate her like that,” he said, “i want to try and fight for us.”
heeseung glanced at him, trying to understand. for one, he didn't know that sunghoon was this type of person when it came to love. and to realize that this was the first time sunghoon was actually in a relationship, it revealed different sides that even heeseung didn't know were there, “i haven’t dated anyone or anything like that so i don’t exactly relate, but it sounds like you like her way more than you thought.”
it wasn’t long before heeseung had dropped him off at the white glass-like arena.
“don’t forget our plans today, okay?” heeseung reminded as sunghoon got out of the car, “my house right after practice.”
“got it,” he nodded, giving him a thumbs up. heeseung's car drove off, and back onto the road, blending in with the other cars. sunghoon walked to the rink like always. he changed his clothes before gliding onto the ice. he adjusted quickly, letting the frozen air cold hug around him- a feeling he will always be grateful for.
there were several other skaters he knew that were also on the ice, deciding to keep to himself as they all worked on their individual skills. normally their coach would be out to scold them but today was more of a freetime.
to sunghoon, the ice was somewhere he could be himself. somewhere he could feel secure and safe when he feels sad. even if he is just siting on a bench, staring at it, he'd feel a thousand times better.
he continued to work on a triple axel, wanting to get into improvising a choreo as quick as he could. so he blocked out any of his thoughts or worries, and began to critique himself. as soon as he launched off into the air, he spun as fast as he could, landing nicely on his right leg.
"nice land," a husky voice echoed out to him, looking their direction, he immediately recognized him. he never sees him as much anymore since sunghoon began taking late afternoon classes. "you've been coming in a lot earlier than normal."
"oh hey kyson," sunghoon waved, putting on an awkward smile as he began to skate closer to him, "yeah, i've.. been more free since summer started. i decided to start getting my reps in."
"how's that girl of yours?" he asked, spinning in small circles. his skates scratching the ice with a satisfying slice, something sunghoon couldn't ignore. kyson's light brown hair, glistened under the lights of the rink. his hair beginning to cling onto his forehead. it was visible that kyson was here for quite longer than he was.
sunghoon tsked lightly, trying not to feel embarrassed or discomforted, "um.. yeah we broke up a while ago."
he stopped circling and faced the boy, "oh i'm sorry," kyson was always a nice guy, funny even. although they weren't close, he knew he always had good intentions towards this sport. something a bond only they share.
"no, you're good," sunghoon didn't hesitate to put on a fake smile, wanting to dig a hole in the ice just to freeze. the idea alone was comforting. "you didn't know."
"i hope everything gets better," he wishes, giving him a genuine smile- something that oddly touched sunghoon to heart.
"than.. thanks," he stuttered, letting each leg get him to circle around kyson in a smooth, slow motion. kyson watching him do so. sunghoon's skates shredding the ice, small pieces bundling up together.
"when wonyoung and i broke up, i was heartbroken," he laughed, and for one it sounded pure and not generated. but sunghoon could tell he was still hurt by the memories, "for a while when we were dating.. i could've sworn she had feelings for you. i only now learned that she despised your sister."
sunghoon brought himself to a stop spinning to be a few feet in front of him, "oh yeah, i know about that," he nodded.
"anyways," kyson mumbled, shaking his head, "trust me when i say it will get better. i'll let you go now." he waved, skating towards the gate of the rink before walking to the locker rooms.
kyson used to be a playboy. he used to date every girl on campus, but now he doesn't bother to find a new relationship. sunghoon found it strange that he could never stick to one. out of all the wonderful girls he dated, he always broke it off with them.
in spite of playing a bunch of girls, sunghoon could confirm that kyson was a nice guy. he knew how to treat girls well, but for some reason something stops him every time. the two boys weren't that close so he couldn't fill in the missing information.
it was until he met wonyoung, he was able to truly be himself. he could tell kyson let his worries away when she was there. sunghoon could remember every time she came to cheer him on during performances, she was exceptionally kind and supportive to him.
of course she did her best to avoid sunghoon, she never failed to make kyson feel special– put him first through everything.
sunghoon doesn't know what happened to them, nor does he seem like it's his place to ask; but he can't seem to forget how beautiful they represented each other. nonetheless they made loving someone look so easy.
however, it will always be a mystery to him.
in the wink of an eye, the session was over. since it was the weekend, after private sessions it was open to the public. sunghoon hurried to pack up his stuff to leave without a word.
once he left the building, he pulled out his phone, beginning to walk to heeseung's house. but something on his phone made him freeze in place, feeling himself tense up at a text from misaki. she was free now.

it hadn't been long until sunghoon found himself in front of misaki's small off-white house. his hands pressed together, sweat beginning to build up. even through the humid heat, the nervousness made him feel even worse.
he was able to make it to her porch but for some reason he couldn't bring himself to knock. breathe. just breathe, he told himself. he brought his right hand up, pausing an inch away from the wooden door.
but you cannot be loud, he remembered, misaki's voice playing in his head. he sighed, retracting his hand to pull out his phone from his back pocket to text her that he was outside. sunghoon waited patiently, rocking on the heels of his feet until the door slowly opened.
for the first time in a long time, they were seeing each other. his eyes felt like burning, not just from the sun but from her. nevertheless, she still looked so pretty. her hair was down, and her bangs were messily stretched across her forehead. he could tell she had light makeup on, and she wore a hoodie and shorts with long white socks.
"hey," she said lowly, "thanks for not knocking."
"yeah, no problem," he nodded.
"come in," she said, gesturing for him to come inside, "don't mind the mess. just go to my room."
she shut the door before running off to the direction of her room. sunghoon nodded, taking off his shoes before following her to her bedroom. the house was dark, many of the blinds were shut, but sunghoon didn't ask about it.
when he entered her room, he immediately noticed how rearranged everything was. it looked entirely different than before. this was definitely not the room from his dream.
"why'd you want to meet up?" misaki asked, turning to him with arms crossed over her chest. her expression easy to read, she was just as nervous as he was. it was as if his mind went blank. "sunghoon?"
"oh.. well," he mumbled, remembering what jay told him, "why did you break up with me?"
now it was her turn to go quiet. he could see her go visibly tense, eyes looking downward towards the floor. she knew that if she looked at him for too long then all her self control would be long gone, "i lost feelings, alright?"
"misa," he said lightly and quietly, almost in a begging way. gazing at her with soft and vulernable eyes, "please look at me and tell me the truth."
her eyes shifted, looking up to his. she easily let the words slide out of her mouth, "i'm telling the truth," as if it was a line from a book, he couldn't help but feel like she was lying. a sort of need for comfort in her eyes as if she needs a reason to believe it too.
he observed her. he observed the way her eyebrows furrowed at him. he observed how her voice began to get quiet. he observed how her hands started to fidget and scratch with her clothes. he saw how she was holding something back.
"then why do i feel like you're lying to me?" sunghoon asked compassion and need in his voice. he was in need of comfort and a reason to move on. "i don't understand. i really don't. you... you can't just end it like this."
she bit her tongue from saying anything. misaki could feel herself breaking apart, as if something in her was gnawing at her skin, telling her to break. her head began to shake lightly and slowly as if she didn't want him to continue to talk, but he did it anyway.
"how.. how could you lose feelings so fast? what did i do wrong?"
"nothing," misaki stated, forcing to gulp, letting out her breath that she didn't know she was holding. "you.. you did nothing wrong."
"then tell me why you're lying."
"i.." she mumbled, pausing as she remembered what theo told her. she knew the consequences, she knew what would happen if she told him, she knew all the things that would go wrong, "i can't tell you."
he tilted his head at her, "misa, you can tell me. i won't be hurt by anything, i just want the truth. even after you tell me and you don't want to be with me, i'll accept that."
sunghoon stood right by the door, keeping his distance from her in case he'd make her uncomfortable. even though he wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be okay, he knew it was wrong to force that upon her. to force a comfort that she possibly wanted nothing to do with, and that was the last thing he wanted.
misaki unfolded her arms, walking over to him. she shut the door lightly behind him before softly grabbing his wrist to guide him to the bed to sit down. the small interaction, her touch against his, was something he forever craved.
he watched her do so, sitting on the side of her bed. she stood in front of him. he looked up at her, making sure she was okay. her eyes fixated on his wrist, not being able to look him in the eye.
"theo," she whispered lowly, her breathing becoming abnormal, "he.. he threatened to post a video about me online and it had sara in it. he said if i broke up with you, then he wouldn't post it." sunghoon kept his eyes on her, letting her continue. "i knew you wouldn't want a video of your sister posted online. i.. i didn't want you thinking of me differently."
"misaki," he said, unwrapping her hand from his wrist to hold them in his own. lightly squeezing her soft hands, "what was in the video?"
her eyes locking with his, his touch was something that motivated her to open up. to be vulnerable, to feel the trust he is openly giving to her, "he was.. he was going to.." she fought back the tears, not wanting to cry in front of him.
he felt himself tense up at the sight of her. she was anything but okay, she was hurting and he couldn't even realize that. she was suffering and she didn't feel comfortable enough to tell him. he could feel his eyes sting, your state being something that changes him almost too easily.
almost instantaneously, sunghoon understood. he got up, hugging his arms around her head, bringing her closer to him. she cried into his shirt, clutching onto his lower back. his scent and warmth engulfing her whole, something she seemed to incredibly miss.
"it's okay," he assured her. he couldn't believe it. theo, he didn't even know the guy, but god did he want to punch the shit out of him.
"he.. he was going.. going to touch me a.. and.." she stuttered, attempting to utter it out, "when your sister walked in.. she.. she.. she didn't believe me. no one did," she sobbed, holding onto him tighter.
"it's okay, let it out," he told her, "i'm here and.. and i believe you." he could feel her heartbeat against his. the feeling making him want to cry. sunghoon's heart began to weep inside him at the feeling of her heart racing against him.
misaki began to cry harder, mumbling, "i'm sorry," again and again, "i'm sorry f.. for hurting you. i'm.. i'm sorry for not.. not telling you. i'm so.. so sorry, sunghoon."
"don't be," he reassured her, his hand wandering to her upper back, rubbing to calm her down, "i'm sorry for not realizing it. i'm sorry for not earning your trust," he said, beginning to cry.
she pulled away to look at him to see fresh tears running down his pink cheeks. shaking her head at the glimpse of him crying. for the first time she was seeing him cry, it was because of her.
"no.. no, no you earned my trust," she told him, her voice becoming raspy and tired, "you.. you gained my trust from the start. i.. i.. it was me, i didn't.. i didn't want to lose what we had because of what theo did."
even though he knew she was telling the truth, he couldn't stop the tears from coming out. he couldn't stop the thought in his head telling him it's all his fault.
"sunghoon, can you please stay here tonight? i don't want to be alone."
looking into her eyes, he could tell she was really tired, "yeah. yeah, of course."

sunghoon couldn't stop replaying the dream in his head. he couldn't shake off the memory of her touch, the words that cradled him like he was still a baby wanting to hear a lullaby.
something inside him said that she was lying. that it wasn't a dream, it was real. did something else happen that he can't seem to remember?

SUMMER TROUBLES | 009. NAIVE AT ITS FINEST
[WC] . 550
prev ! mlist ! next
jungwon was now at his house lying in bed. he’d been feeling tired all day, watching netflix shows on his tv.

his phone buzzed his hand, she was calling him. jungwon moved to be laying on his side, answering the call. he could tell from the quality that she was on her laptop.
“hey,” she spoke, and for the first time he was hearing her voice.
“hi,” jungwon smiled, growing embarrassed.
his face felt warmer than usual.
“you sound different than i expected,” yujin said, smiling back at him. a smile he couldn’t seem to find on her page, so this was also new to him.
“in a good or a bad way?” he asked, making a face at her.
she laughed, “a good way.”
he was able to relax now. she was laying on her stomach, facing the laptop at a 45 degree angle. her phone in her hand.
“i.. i don’t usually call people,” he said honestly, “what do we talk about?”
“anything,” she shrugged, “do you have any questions to ask me?”
are you dating someone, echoed in his head but he wasn’t too naive to make it that obvious.
“why don’t you tell me more about your friends? like how you got to know them and stuff.”
“okay,” she smiled, putting her phone face down beside her, “i’ve known hanni, soobin, and niki the longest. niki lives down the street so i got to hang out with him more often. i think that was one of the reasons why we got so close.”
jungwon nodded to show acknowledgement, so she’s close with the niki guy..
“for hanni..” she mumbled in thought, “i’ve just known her since kindergarten. i got to know soobin in third grade and we immediately became friends, he was always really nice. i got to know jake and bahiyyih in middle school. we all got really close then. what about you and your friends?”
“i’ve known heeseung and taehyun the longest. they’re a year older but they always looked out for me,” jungwon explained, “jay and sunghoon were always together so they came as a pair. i got to know them when i was just starting middle school, they were my mentors.”
jungwon continued, “sunoo, i got to know in fourth grade. we got sat together and we quickly became close.”
“that’s really cool,” she said with eyes full of interest, “this is a really small world we live in.”
“it really is,” jungwon agreed.
she paused, trying to generate a new question, “how about a love interest,” yujin started, her finger pointing at him, “any lucky person for you?”
he hummed at the thought, “i’ve never really been the type to.. be interested in that stuff.”
“so you’ve never had a crush?”
he paused, tilting his head at her, “um.. what does it even mean to have a crush on someone? like how do you know you like them?”
she pursed her lips at his question, “well.. you kind of just know. you.. want to be around them, you.. get a funny feeling when they’re around, and they make you a better person. at least thats what i believe.”
jungwon readjusted his position to lay on his other side, bringing his hood over his head.
“then..” he mumbled, “i don’t think i like anybody, but.. but i don’t really know anything about that stuff,” he laughed nervously, feeling a pit in his stomach.
“yeah, i get you,” she smiled a little.
“what about you? any lucky guy?”
she smiled at the thought, nodding her head, “yeah.. i don’t think he likes me though. he seems pretty naive, perhaps dumb.”
jungwon smiled at her expression, “i’m glad you found someone, but how could they not like you?”
even though jungwon could feel his heart pang at the idea of her liking somebody else, he was glad he was a close friend to her.
hours later, they continued to talk and laugh, telling stories they haven’t talked about in a while. they eventually drifted off to do their individual things.
it started with her having to do the dishes in her kitchen, where he saw her mom. jungwon continued to watch his show that he’s watched a trillion times over and over again.
jungwon had his phone against his lamp horizontally, facing himself. from the view he had of her, he could tell it was also on her bedside table.
eventually, he drifted off to bed as his show began to end. his eyes shutting and light snores coming out of his lips.
“hey jung..” yujin began until she saw his state.
she silenced herself, and took this moment to observe him. even though it was dark in his room, the light from his tv shined along his face so it was visible.
yujin reached for her lamp, pulling the string to click it off before pulling the comforter up to keep her warm.
note: phone is back but i cannot guarantee for how long 🙊

SUMMER TROUBLES | 008. DISTRACTION
[WC] . 600 prev ! mlist ! next

"and of course won is last to show up," heeseung glared after opening the door.
"to be correct, sunghoon is last," jay defended wonie, "didnt his practice end a while ago?"
"not sure but he said he was on the way soon."
"and when did he say that?" jay asked.
"about an hour ago.." sunoo sighed, "maybe hes ditching us."
"not a chance," tae commented, "who else would he hang out with?"
"he has many friends from ice skating."
"ok first of all," heeseung started, sitting down beside jay on the family couch in the living room, "no he does not. second of all, maybe he’s meeting up with misak-"
jay smacked his arm before he could finish his sentence, cursing at him.
"yo," he mumbled while pinching heeseung’s arm, "what the fuck?"
"whose he meeting up with?" jungwon asked, sitting next to sunoo on the floor.
"nobody, i’ll go call him," jay said, leaving to go to heeseung’s room.
"weird.."
"anyways," hee shook his head, "what do you guys want to do?"
"there’s nothing interesting to watch," tae mumbled as he searched for movies and shows on the tv.
jungwon’s phone buzzed his pocket but before he could grab it, sunoo slapped his hand quickly and lightly.
"hey-"
"no phone," he told him although it was more like a demand, "everyone put your phones on the coffee table," he announced, snatching jungwon’s phone from his pocket, grabbing his own before placing them messily on the table.
"what why?" hee asked.
"because everyone is always on it. why don’t we all just talk to one another? no electronics."
“but-“
“why-“
“nope nope,” he shushed them, pointing the finger at them, “i'm just asking for one thing, for once.”
it was silent among the best friends.
“okay fine, but what will we talk about?” heeseung asked as he placed his phone next to jungwon’s on the coffee table.
“well.. what’s got everyone on their phones?”
“nothing, i'm just bored,” tae sighed, nudging sunoo to put his phone on the table as well. sunoo abided, placing his phone face down just like the rest.
"we all know what jungwon does on his phone-" hee was interrupted by won, "okay okay enough about me."
jay returned, "sunghoon said he can't show up today."
"what? why?" heeseung asked.
"i didn't ask," jay mumbled, "he sounded serious, i decided not to butt in," everyone nodded, "so what's going on here?" he asked, signalling to the phones all bunched together on the table.
after catching jay up on what he had missed, it had been about half an hour. they began catching up with one another until all the phones buzzed and dinged at the same time causing curiosity as to why from the group of boys.
“okay why did we all get a message at the same time?” sunoo asked, shocked, his eyes locked on the coffee table.
“maybe sunghoon messaged,” tae guessed, “or..”
“or?”
heeseung gasped, scaring everyone.
“gosh you scared me,” jungwon commented.
“it might be the college tours we signed up for, remember the summer admissions? they said they would post it somewhere in the middle of summer.”
“oh yeah,” tae says as the memory replays in his head, reaching for the phone before sunoo slapped it.
“no no no, we have the whole rest of the summer to look at those. right now we are staying here."
once again the boys decided to obey him. heeseung had brought out his console for all of them to play nintendo. although it was four at a time, they seemed to make it work.
after a while of playing for a couple hours, the group seemed to be starving. deciding to go out and eat. sunoo reluctantly letting them go on they're phones.
"sunghoon never showed up," jungwon mumbled, missing his best friend, "i wonder why he never showed up."
the boy never notified them in the groupchat nor showed up like he was supposed to.
"maybe he got held up in something," jay mumbled, eyes locked onto his phone screen.
"heeseung, let's use your car," tae instructed, sliding on his shoes before leaving the house.
the group followed, soon all inside heeseung's black vehicle. hee and jay in the front –sunoo, tae, and jungwon in the back.
"has sunghoon been acting a little more odd than normal?" tae brought up, "or is it just me?"
"ever since he and misaki broke it off, he's been a total different person," heeseung commented, "he barely hangs out with us and normally just hangs out by himself."
"i was surprised when he wanted to sleep over at jungwon's," sunoo mentioned, nodding his head.
"right? me too," jungwon agreed.
"yeah, i mean he and misaki were in love," jay said lowly, "if that happened to me, it would change me a lot as well."
jungwon stayed silent at that. it made him wonder about yujin. how would he feel if she just stopped talking to him? would he feel sad? would he even care?
thinking about it made him wary about everything.
“so what about yujin?” tae asked, nudging jungwon’s shoulder.
“it’s.. it’s great,” he laugh nervously.
“oh yeah," tae mumbled, "does she have a boyfriend?"
jungwon tilted his head at the question, "i.. i'm not sure. she never said she wasn't in a relationship."
"right," he nodded, "maybe you should ask her."
“oh guys,” jay began, the three boys peeking they’re heads between the seats, “the college email did come in, did you guys get accepted to go too?”
everyone excluding heeseung, who was driving, pulled out their phone to check. all of them getting admitted to go.
“we’re all just going to seoul, right?” heeseung asked, pulling into the restaurant parking lot.
“yeah,” sunoo nodded.
they had arrived at jay’s family restaurant.

note: why am i working slower.. im also getting a new phone so no new smaus right now haha. i need to get my photos back asap. and the next following chapters will have weird looking texts whoops.

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 015. DREAMS ARE JUST DREAMS
[WC] . 2600 [WARNINGS] . implied drinking, cursing. prev ! mlist ! next
he tilted his head, in trance by her, blinking. she pulled up the divider between them, now officially face to face.
"sunghoon," she called out for the millionth time.
it was as if there was water in his ears, his hearing somewhat muffled. eventually clearing up, he heard her.
"huh?" he mumbled, "oh.. yeah. i am sunghoon."
misaki looked at him, confused as to why he was acting weird, "i know," she said, smiling awkwardly at him, "what are you doing here?"
she rested her arms on the window frame, his face growing redder by the second, "uh.. i wanted to go home."
they weren't together. they weren't dating. they were nothing. and they weren't even friends. yet here he is at her window, calling her his home.
she blinked at him, observing his face. his hair was messy from the wind, the light from her room shone onto his face, showing the pink on his cheeks. his lips redder than normal, she assumed it was from the cold.
he looked at her with feeling; in awe, admiration, and amazement. he wasn't smiling, he was just staring. she smiled a little at him. he's so cuteness, she thought.
she licked her chapped lips, tugging on her sweater sleeves before ushering him to climb in.
"are.. are you sure?" he asked softly, "you.. you must.. be busy."
"i'm not. come in, it must be cold," she told him, hurrying to her bed, cleaning it up.
he crawled inside, immediately recognizing the scent. he shut his eyes, falling back onto her window sinking down to her floor.
she jumped at the sound, turning over to his direction to see him on the floor, "sunghoon," misaki said, worry laced in her voice.
she quickly kneeled down beside him, "i'm okay," he laughed, his eyes remaining shut, "i'm just really tired."
she paused, taking this moment to look at him, "sunghoon," she mumbled, he opened his heavy eyes to see her, "have you been drinking?"
he pouted at her, shaking his head profusely, "i would never! i just drank a liquid in a red cup," he told her truthfully, gesturing how small with his hands.
she chuckled at his behavior, "gosh, where were you?" she asked, helping him to stand up. her hand gripping at his biceps as she led him to her bed to sit down.
"bonfire," he slurred, "i was waiting for you to show up, but you never did."
he sat on her bed as she stood in front of him. his eyes glowing. she looked at him, feeling somewhat guilty.
"i'm sorry, sunghoon," misaki apologized, "i.. i couldn't go," her voice cracking, eyes looking anywhere but him.
he examined her closely trying to understand where she was coming from. she was thinking about something, what was it? he wanted to know. he didn't want to be left in the dark again.
"misa."
the nickname shot her like an arrow in the heart, her eyes full of sadness. his hand finding hers, bringing it closer to him.
"why.. why couldn't you go?" he asked quietly in a whisper.
her eyes glancing at him, not wanting him to know. i can't let him know. she licked her lips again, beginning to bite on them to force her to stay quiet.
he continued to stare at her in curiosity, wonder, admiration and sadness; all of it altogether. sunghoon guided her hand to hold his cheek. it fit perfectly, his hand over hers. he melted, nuzzling into it.
"i really missed you," he cried, his voice cracking. his eyes closing shut, tears falling down his face and onto her hand.
misaki sighed heavily at him, gulping her words, "i.. i missed you too, hoon."
she slowly wrapped her arms around his upper back, standing between his legs, embracing him in her arms. he took a moment to process what was happening, soon wrapping his arms around her lower torso.
nothing needed to be said. all they had was each other in this moment and that was all that mattered. at least to sunghoon it was.
in her arms, he felt safe. he felt warm, loved, wanted. he held her tightly enough, sinking into the idea that this was real. he wasn't dreaming.. right?
"are.. are you real?" he asked, his tears soaking her shirt, "i'm.. i'm not dreaming, right?"
"i'm here, hoon," she responded, her voice was quiet and clear, "i'm real and i'm not going anywhere."
she subconsciously held her breath at the feeling of his arms being wrapped around her. nevertheless she craved his touch.
from there everything was a blur for sunghoon. the next morning, he woke up in his bedroom, still wearing the clothes from last night.
he looked around the room, confused. how did he get home? he attempted to remember what happened, but for some reason he couldn’t. it felt like he was searching for an empty thought.
all he could remember was a girl trying to talk to him at the bonfire. a red.. red cup? he thought.
sunghoon's head began to squeeze, getting a headache. the sunlight shining brightly in his room, he shut his eyes and buried into his blanket.
he reached his hand out, searching for his phone. once he grasped it, he snuck it into his blanket. he began to read notifications on his phone. surprised to see his recent messages was with misaki.
"huh? what happened yesterday?" he mumbled, confused. he scratched at the back of his head, "i saw her yesterday? when?"
he opened the messages, surprised to see that he was the one texting her. he had no memory of last night. he groaned, why can't i remember?
photos
he quickly opened his messages with his best friends from the night before.
"cops?" he gasped, now peeling out of his comforter so he could sit up against his headboard, "i didn't see any cops yesterday. did i?"
he shook the idea, he definitely didn't. he read further to see that his friend's did not know where he went. apparently he just disappeared.
"i don't remember," he whined.

not even his friends had a clue of where he went. gosh, why do i have to be so complicated?
thump thump thump.
"come in," sunghoon called out.
the door was pushed open, revealing his sister sara holding a tray of what looked like soup.
"what is that?" he asked, not wanting any of it.
"hangover soup," she said, kicking the door shut with her foot before going to his bedside table, "eat it."
"i am not eating that," he stated with a sour face on.
"do you not remember what happened last night?" she asked, he shook his head at her, "you came home and you were super drunk. you're lucky i opened the door and not mom. she would've freaked."
"i was drunk?"
sara nodded, sitting on the side of his bed. handing him the tray which he took, placing it on his lap.
she looked at her hands, the atmosphere changing in the slightest, "you were mumbling stuff.."
his ears perked up at this, wanting her to continue.
"you said you wanted to go home. you were saying misaki's name," she mumbled, looking at him, wondering if he remembers, "i was asking you where you came from but you wouldn't answer. you.. you were crying."
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
sunghoon was now at taehyun's house with heeseung. tae had just left to go pick up sunoo, leaving the two boys on his bed.
"yujin is really worried about jungwon," hee mumbled, showing him the texts from earlier that morning, "and did you see that yujin is actually a girl?"
"i knew it," sunghoon said, smacking his lips.
hee laughed at him, "how does it feel to have your first hangover?"
"i don't want to get drunk again if it means that i will lose my memory."
he laughed harder at that, sunghoon not joining him.
"apparently i texted misaki when i was drunk," he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "i'm so embarrassed."
"what'd you even say?"
sunghoon took his time, opening his phone to pull up the texts before tossing the device to his best friend. soon enough heeseung was laughing again.
"she hasn't even responded yet," sunghoon said, pointing at the phone, "i do remember.. dreaming about something. it felt too real."
"what were you dreaming about?" hee asked, turning the phone off.
hoon shrugged, "misaki. it was too vivid for a dream."
"maybe it actually happened," heeseung proposed, causing the boy to look at him, "look for proof. or.. i don't know.. ask her?"
sunghoon smacked his lips at the idea. that's too weird, he thought.
"i can't just text her and ask if i actually went to her house because i can't seem to decipher the difference between reality and dreams," sunghoon retorted.
heeseung glanced at him, "okay you got me there.. so just.. don't ask her," he concluded.
"but.. i want to know if i did see her or not."
"man," heeseung exhaled, "make up your mind."
out of wonder, he called her in hopes that it wasn't a dream. the phone continued to ring until it stopped, meaning she answered.
"hello?" she asked, her voice clear through the line.
"uh.. hi," sunghoon said, nervously, "i.. i have a question. you must be busy, but this won't take much of your time."
"i'm not," she assured him.
he exhaled slowly, gulping down the worries that flooded his head, "i.. um.. i was wondering if.. if i went to your house yesterday, and if.. something happened."
for a moment, he thought she hung up, "no. you didn't stop by. why? is everything alright?"
his heart dropped, not from embarassment, but he really hoped it was real, "yeah, yeah everything's fine. thanks, i should let you go."
"oh okay. bye sunghoon," she said, hanging up before he could say it back.
"bye, misa."

SUMMER TROUBLES | 006. WORTH IT
[WC] . 1200 prev ! mlist ! next
it had been one week since the party incident, also the last time he talked with his friends, and the last time he'd talk with yujin. the last thing he said was "aren't you a guy?" how embarrassing.
that's almost all he'd been thinking about- how much he regretted it, how there were millions of other responses he could've said, how rude he must've sounded in her point of view and of course he wouldn't want that.
he'd been in his room with maeumi doing his summer reading but he'd finished them by now. he even debated on rereading them. of course he didn't, he wasn't that insane.
he decided to go to one of his friends house so he bundled up the courage to go ask his mom who was downstairs watching her show. he carried maeumi until they reached the last step of his staircase, putting her down carefully.
he trudged over beside the couch, "hey mom, can i go to tae's house? we planned to meet up a long time ago so we could start on his summer reading together," his moms series talking loudly over him.
"mhm yeah, go ahead, don’t be home late," she told him, leaning forward into her show.
"oh okay, thanks mom," he thanked, going upstairs to change before leaving to go to tae’s house.
they had never planned anything so jungwon was just hoping that tae was home although this whole time he'd been so busy. at the same time, the boy would rather stay home. it wouldn't hurt to stop by for a while.
so jungwon took the public bus to his place. by the time he reached tae's house, he was gasping for air because of how humid it was. the hot wind was doing nothing.
he heavily knocked on his best friends door. he squeezed his eyes shut when he didn’t hear anything coming from inside the house. getting impatient, he rang the doorbell. he started to fan his face due to the heat and could feel the drips of sweat forming around his face.
he wiped his face using his sleeve as he waited impatiently. he knocked a couple more times before gulping down his regret, what was this worth for?
"after all this time," he breathed out, basically gasping for air in his dry mouth, "gosh tae, where the hell are you?!"
he turned around before running with his hand over his eyes to cover himself from the sun as he sprinted to a nearby house, heeseungs.
"heeseung hyung!" he yelled as he approached the abode, "please, please, please be home.." he whispered among himself.
he knocked on the wooden door, leaning onto the frame, out of breath. in minutes, someone opened the door. it was tae.
"now you! i have mad beef with you!" he exaggerated, welcoming himself in heeseungs house without any acceptance.
"i thought you were grounded," he ignored his side comment.
"she said i could go to your house because we're working on your summer reading essays."
"which reminds me, we have to work on that," taehyun mumbled, taking a note of it in his head before walking up the stairs to heeseungs room.
jungwon followed up behind him out of breath. as they walked in, heeseung was lying down on his stomach on his phone.
"what happened to you?" he questioned, "dont tell me vernons dog got loose again.."
taehyun laughed at the thought before jumping onto the bed beside hee. jungwon dropped onto the floor, "gosh my back hurts. you guys live so far."
"you walked here?"
"no shit," jungwon retorted out of tiredness that turned into moodiness.
"why did you stop by anyways?" heeseung asked.
"because i cant handle being at home any longer without my phone!"
"ohh which reminds me.." heeseung started, getting up while pulling something up on his phone, "someone messaged me a day after the bonfire incident."
heeseung held the phone above jungwon’s face, his eyes widening at the screen and attempting to reach for it- before it dropped onto his nose.
"ah shit.." jungwon hissed, immediately getting up to massage his nose.
"oh my god!" hee exclaimed, " i thought you were gonna catch it!"
"what.. what the fuck.." jungwon cursed, looking at his hand to see blood, "did you break my nose?"
"no way," tae gasped walking over to him before leading jungwon up and to the bathroom, "gosh heeseung, that's one way to treat a guest."
meanwhile hee was kneeled down on the floor, he peeked over to his phone to see some blood smeared on it before cringing, "eww! jungwon, your blood got on my screen!"
it had been a while since won got punched by hee's phone and won was now messaging yujin on it.

"took her long enough to respond," hee commented while waiting for her reply.
"what'd she say?" tae asked.
"uhhh," jungwon slowly started to grin before covering his mouth with his extra hand as he processed what she said.
he flipped the phone around so they could see the message, they were both in front of him laying on their stomachs as won was sitting against hee's headboard.

heeseung scoffed as taehyun nodded, "this soobin guy got some nice friends. we're not friends with any girls, why's that?"
"you guys aren’t, i am," wonnie told them, gesturing to the phone.
"friends?" taehyun wondered, "yeah sure."
"i mean she’s gotta be into you a little bit."
"why do you say that?" won asked.
"probably because she messaged me about what was up with you the day after you didnt reply to her," heeseung told him, "and look at how she’s messaging you. she was asking all kinds of questions, she want’s to talk with you."
"thats how a conversation works, dumb."
"yeah but wonnie, you have to think about it from her perspective," tae jumped in, "i mean.. she said she's been waiting for your message or something, now that has got to mean something."
the phone buzzed in his hand, "guys, she asked what we're doing?"
"well.. what are we doing?" tae asked.
"you can’t actually say what you're doing," heeseung told tae.
"and whys that?" tae and won asked at the same time.
hee sighed, "do i have to do everything? no wonder we dont have girl best friends," he rolled his eyes, "just say we're all doing our own things on our phones."
"he's literally using your phone, dumbass."
"so much for doing everything," they retorted.
jungwon typed in that they were just talking about how the bonfire party had gone and that they were waiting for sunoo to arrive, which was partly what they were doing.
"now why would you say that?!" they both exclaimed.
note: i love where everything is headed. pls comment your thoughts freely, i love to hear people theories etc.

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 014. I WANT TO GO HOME
[WC] . 2600 [WARNINGS] . implied drinking, cursing. prev ! mlist ! next
the group stayed at sunghoon's house for the time being, keeping him company. although sunghoon didn't talk about his feelings, he let them cheer him up by making him laugh and sharing funny memories.
the door creaked open, his mother peeking in to see all 6 boys on the bed laughing.
"can i talk to hoon please?"
he excused himself and followed her downstairs to the living room. his sisters nowhere to be seen.
"where is sara and yeji?" he asked, sitting down.
"they went to the convenience store to get snacks for movie night," she responded, relaxing beside him.
he stared off, not bothered by the silence between them, taking in the quiet environment.
"hoon," she said, his sulking gaze locking with her caring eyes, "what happened with you and misaki? i thought everything was going good?"
he could feel his palms grow sweaty, unsure of what to say, "um.. i.. i don't really know. she.. she broke up with me, mom."
his lip trembled at the memory of that day.
"she broke it off without any context. she had this.. this look in her eye. everytime i replay that day in my head.. i.. i feel like she didn't want to end it, and deep down i know i'm just overthinking it."
"that's not always entirely true, sweetie. maybe you should talk it out with her.." she started.
"no.. no i mean she won't even talk to me," he mumbled, sighing with frustration, "she doesn't even bother to read my texts. i should give her space."
she smiled sadly at him, "hoon, do you really believe that?"
as much as he wanted to say yes, he couldn't. the feeling of his heart aching, misaki's voice running through his head, taking a deep breath in before glancing up to hold back tears.
"n.. no," he mumbled although it came out as a whisper, "she.. she looked like she wanted me to hug her," he cried, "it looked like she wanted me to stay.. but i didn't. i just let her end it," he stuttered, his voice cracking.
"sunghoon, sweetie," she fretted, wrapping her arms around her baby boy.
he hugged her back, his tears melting into her shirt.
"i really liked her mom," he sobbed, his hands frantically grabbing at her shoulders as if in need for comfort, "i.. i don't know what i did wrong."
"nothing," she said, "you did nothing wrong, my sweet boy."
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
it'd been a couple of days since he cried most of it out. although it didn't stop him from crying when he was by himself, he was able to feel more relieved to know people around him were on his side.
he felt better knowing people were there to comfort him when he needed it. due to all of the thoughts flooding his head, he was seen on the ice more often, practicing.
nevertheless, he felt like he was improving. he hasn't competed because there weren't any anytime soon, so he occupied himself with choreo's he improvised.
imagining a song in his head as he skated gracefully along the ice. since it was summer now, the rink was much more watery unlike winter when it would be ice cold solid.
"park sunghoon," a voice called, his head turning their direction, "off the ice, practice has been long over. i've been letting you stay longer recently but.. you can't keep extending the extra time."
he skated over, sighing whilst nodding, "i understand, thank you for letting me stay extra though."
"of course, now quickly get changed so i can lock up."
he obeyed, hurriedly changing and packing up his skates before leaving the arena. his feet pressed against the sidewalk beside the road.
he opened his texts with his friends. once again, jungwon was asking to hang out. he smacked his lips out of habit, typing that he'll come over.
he changed his route and decided to bus it to his house. although it would probably be a bad idea to hang out with jungwon, he decided to do it anyway. if you're wondering, why would it be a bad thing?
jungwon had recently found a friend to talk to. to sunghoon, it seems like the boy is falling in love. he would text about her in the group chat just like sunghoon did; and to see one of his best friends falling in love right after he got broken up with, isn't too good of a feeling.
about 30 minutes later, he was finally at jungwon's house with the company of sunoo. the two guests playing on the console as if they live there, unbothered by the odd behavior of jungwon.
"what's up with jungwon?" sunghoon questioned, eyes locked on the tv screen in front of him followed by aggressive tapping on his controller.
"he's in love," the boy beside him said, nonchalantly.
his tongue poking out of his mouth, focusing on the racing game. attempting to keep his go kart on the track.
as sunghoon get's swerved off the road, he let out a groan of frustration, "ugh are you kidding me!" he yelled for the millionth time that night.
"sunghoon hyung, lock in! we're about to beat this level," sunoo screamed, not missing the chance to side eye him, "gosh you're horrible at these games."
"if i'm so bad, tell jungwon to take over," he told him, moving with his controller.
sunoo ignored the boy, locking into the game about to beat the level they've been stuck on. eyes growing bigger as he stared into the screen.
"hey won, you wanna play with us?" he called out, sighing at the sight of about 3 bots passing him, "jungwon?"
sunghoon didn't hear a response, instead he could hear jungwon laughing from his gut.
“jungwon!” sunoo turned around to slap him with his hand, “stop laughing and listen to us," sunghoon averted his eyes from the tv to his two friends, becoming nosy about what's happening.\
“oh sorry guys, what’d you say?”
“that's the first time you put your phone down since we’ve got here,” sunoo sighed, adjusting the way his legs crossed.
“what's keeping you on your phone, huh won?” sunghoon questioned, although he already knew the answer.
“nothing,” he mumbled, “hand me a remote.”
sunghoon reluctantly handed him his, too frustrated to continue playing with sunoo.
not even a full round had past when the judgemental boy spoke again, "finally someone good is playing with me."
sunghoon scoffed at his comment. he is so full of himself, he thought.
about an hour and a half later, the three boys got told to keep it down resulting in getting ready for bed. it was around midnight when sunoo and him finished setting up they're makeshift beds on jungwon's floor.
hoon was the second one to brush his teeth, immediately laying in the comforters. finding it somewhat safe and warm. he has spent a bunch of nights at jungwon's so it was basically like a second home to him.
he shifted onto his side, feeling.. oddly sad. he was having a fun time with his friends, so why was it that he still feels like he's missing something. how does he make this feeling go away?
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
the next day, he and his two best friends arrived at the beach. his phone read 1 o'clock and they were just now unpacking all of they're gear to set up for the bonfire.
heeseung and the other's said they would be coming a little later. it gave sunghoon, sunoo, and jungwon enough time to start cooking the meat.
the dimply boy unboxing the rice and dividing half of it equally between them. sunghoon cooked the meat, letting it sizzle on the grill.
they were under the canopy they brought and were able to claim an empty bonfire pit. thankfully there weren't too many people at the beach yet, surprisingly.
it wasn't long for the meat to cook, "jungwon," sunghoon called out, putting the cooked pieces onto a plate.
“huh?” jungwon mumbled, turning to him.
“the foods done, eat up. jay and heeseung are about to head out here so eat before they steal it all.”
“thank you for cooking,” jungwon thanked, grabbing the plate before moving several pieces to his plate.
the quiet boy began to clean the grill, disliking the idea of it being dirty.
“and wonie?” sunoo began, sunghoon's ears perking up out of curiousity.
“yeah, whats up sunoo?”
“why have you been on your phone so much lately?” sunoo asked, sunghoon chuckled quietly to himself at the idea of jungwon getting flustered, “you looked really happy yesterday.”
“oh well..“
“remember sun? the girl, yujin or something along the lines of,” sunghoon reminded him, clearly teasing, sunoo gasped at the memory while nodding.
“oh yeah,” sunoo recalled, bombarding his best friend with questions, “so is she pretty? clearly seems funny, what's she like? do you like her?”
sunghoon couldn't help but smile, turning around to see jungwon's reactions.
“relax sunoo!” jungwon laughed, “first of all, yujin is not a girl. he’s a boy and second of all, we just met.”
sunghoon tilted his head at the new information. he was almost positive yujin was a girl's name. he shook his head, clicking off the grill.
“so he’s an option?” the blonde haired boy striked an eyebrow at him.
he could hear jungwon sigh, “no, eat up and stop talking to me about this.”
“yeah, enough about jungwon,” sunoo stated, “hey sunghoon-“ sunghoon groaned at the sound of him being brought up, “have you talked it out with misaki?”
“oh yeah, have you?”
the name was still something that triggered a part of him since the wound was still fresh.
“i don't know what you're talking about, i never said i was going to talk to her about it," and that was true, never once had he said he was going to confront her.
“right but i just thought that you'd come to your senses and.. i don't know. ask her why she decided to break it off?”
“i'll think about it,” sunghoon replied, sitting beside jungwon.
jungwon lightly elbowed the boy, “i know you don't want to lose her. so actually think about it, okay?”
sunghoon gulped at the thought of seeing her again. he genuinely wondered if he would cry in front of her, let misaki see that side of him. would she hate that about him?
he smacked his lips as he felt his friend's eyes on him, “o.. okay.. stick to your own girl problems, yeah?” he muttered, stuffing food in his mouth.
sunoo chuckled at his response before eating his beef. it wasn't long before the boys grew full and the rest of the group arrived, including a bunch of strangers.
half of which sunghoon recognized but no names labelled upon them. the sun had already set and his eyes were trailing along the different faces around this side of the beach, hoping he would see her here.
of course he didn't see her. in fact he saw none of her friends. he felt someone tap on his shoulder, looking around to see a girl.
"hey," she smiled, a red cup in her hand, "you're pretty, do you have a girlfriend?"
he blinked at the question, shaking his head before looking back off at the burning wood. the crackling fire enticed him, his eyes not wanting to leave and the warm feeling engulfing him although he was feet's away. oddly enough, he enjoyed the feeling.
"i'm glad," she continued, "i'm mi daeun, i go to hwajeong high."
"incheon academy," he responded, eyes locked on the glistening bright light in front of him. he could feel her eyes burning into him, and she continued to talk and talk and talk. it was suffocating.
"sorry," he interrupted, their eye's finally meeting, "s.. someone's waving me over, see you around?"
her mouth opened but quickly shut, nodding, "see you around."
he smiled awkwardly at her, walking off to the direction of a cooler. he felt bad but he really couldn't handle it, he didn't even know her.
when he reached the blue cooler, just as he was about to open it, someone began to talk.
"hey sunghoon!" he looked up to see a familiar face.
"oh.. um jaewon, right?" he asked, attempting to put on a fake smile, "didn't know you were coming."
"this is a sick party, dude," he nodded, sipping on a red cup just like the girl from before, "are you talking to her?"
"i'm sorry, who?" sunghoon asked. jaewon gestured to something behind him, it was the girl he was just talking to, "uh.. no."
"okay good," jaewon nodded, sunghoon examining his expressions, "cause she's hot and i want a chance," he laughed.
the music booming over him just the slightest, he dug up the courage to ask "hey, where'd you get the drink?"
"oh you want some?" he asked, waving around the cup like it was some treat, "this jug right here. do you even know what it is?"
"don't care, i'm just a dehydrated guy," sunghoon shrugged, honestly too depressed for partying right now.
jaewon nodded prior to pouring him a drink. he thanked him, walking away from the party to the sidewalk where the parked cars were. from here, the music was less irritating.
he sipped the drink, a sour feeling going down his throat, almost burning. sunghoon coughed at the bitter taste, somewhat surprised. he shook his head, downing it empty before tossing the cup into a black metal bin.
he blinked, feeling his heart begin to race. looking around in hopes to see misaki. groups of teenagers were getting dropped off, wearing half naked outfits. he sighed when there was still no sign of her.
he frustratedly ran a hand through his hair, thinking of what to do. he felt like crying, he just wanted to go home. should i just go home, take a cab and go?
sunghoon debated on telling his friends. instead he called an uber and just went on his way, not wanting to disturb his friend's fun. his uber dropped him off at his destined location, crawling out of the car.
"thank.. thank you," he slurred, shaking his head at the odd feeling. it was before he realized the car had already drove off, "oh.. bye."
he felt like he was somehow 10 seconds behind. how was it possible to be so delayed, everything seemed to be slowed down. he flayed his arms around, eyes trailing on the grey pavement below him as he followed it.
i feel so tired. i just want to go home, he thought.
he blinked and suddenly he was on grass, eyes blinking tiredly up to be met with a window. sunghoon scratched the side of his head in confusion, he knocked lightly as if it was a door.
it wasn't long before the curtain's on the other side were moved. his mouth fell open when he saw her through the window.
note: erm okay.. what do you guys think will happen next? please comment ideas below!

SUMMER TROUBLES | 005. GROUNDED
[WC] . 540 prev ! mlist ! next

the two boys sat on the curb after putting all the equipment from the park into sunoo's car, the cops keeping a good eye on them from their car.
coincidentally, the cop was a friend of jungwon's mom. it'd been about 20 minutes since the party had been busted and a familiar car started to pull up.
a woman coming out shortly after, “jungwon?” she called out.
“mom,” he sighed getting up, “i'm right here,” he was wrapped around a blanket that they had brought. the boy beside him, sunoo, stood up as well.
“gosh,” she exclaimed, “you get in the car and sunoo do you have a ride home?”
“i.. i drove here,” he smiled lightly.
“where's sunghoon?” she asked while turning back to jungwon upon seeing him still standing there, “get in the car,” she signaled, clearly annoyed.
“uh he got a ride back home from someone else, a long while ago,” sunoo partly lied, he didnt know where sunghoon was.
“oh great, get home safe,” she told him before going over to talk to the cops.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
“jungwon!” she yelled as soon as they got into the house, slamming the door behind her, “what did you expect to happen?”
“mom, i didn't know there was beer at the party,” he told her again for about the fifteenth time that night as he took his shoes off and replaced it with house slippers, walking to their kitchen. maeumi walking over to him, nudging his leg.
“do you know how embarrassing that is? especially because it was your aunt catching you,” she asked with the tone of annoyance laced in her words as she followed behind him, “she might think you've been drinking! i told you to be careful.”
“i am careful,” he reassured her although he sounded hesitant.
she gave him an unconvinced look, “you call this being careful? be honest, did you drink tonight?”
“mom..“
“no no no, i won't be mad or anything, i just want to know. you know how illegal underage drinking is,” she reminded him.
he sighed heavily, “i'm aware, they give us the talk about drinking and drugs at least 5 days a year at school.”
“jungwon.”
“i didn't drink!” he finally broke, annoyance coming out of his mouth, “i told you this already!”
“jungwon,” she mumbled much lighter out of disbelief.
“i'm sorry,” he apologized, “but i'm telling the truth. yes i hosted the bonfire, no i didn't buy the beer nor did i drink it.”
she sighed before saying, “i believe you.. but i'm taking your phone for a month.”
jungwon's mouth dropped at the consequence, “a month?!” the only thing he could think of was yujin, he still hadn't responded to her and how would she know that he's grounded.
“actions have consequences,” she reached her hand out for his phone. he sighed, grabbing it out of his pocket and hesitantly placing into her hand.
“it's summer though,” he attempted to reason, “you even told me to go out and have fun.”
“yeah but i didn't expect the cops to be pulled into this.”
jungwon shook his head as he ran upstairs to his room. he laid flatly on his back. how could one party ruin your summer completely?

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 013. NO ONE BELIEVES ME
[WC] . 1500 [WARNINGS] . mentions of sa, rape, etc. reminder this is all FAKE. prev ! mlist ! next
1 month later.
ding... ding.... ding.... ding... ding... ding.... ding... ding.... ding...
sunghoon’s phone was flooded with messages from his best friends. all under the topic of “what happened?” “where have you been?” “are you okay” and all of which he hasn’t responded to.
its been 2 weeks since school ended, it was now summer break. it has also been 1 week since misaki and him broke up.
he’s been in his room, curtains shut and was bundled in bed. the warmth devouring him whole, barely a peep of light in his room.
“hoon?” his mom knocked from the hallway, “come down and eat breakfast with us, yeah?”
“i’ll come down later,” he said.
although he was probably lying, his mother still responded, “okay, we’ll be waiting for you.”
her foot steps descending away. he sighed, pulling his phone closer to him and sliding it open. he winced at the bright light, his eyes slowly adjusting to it.
jungwon hasn’t stopped bothering them to hang out, they’re texts are half of jungwon getting rejected. maybe i should get out of bed, sunghoon thought.
he sat up, looking around his surprisingly clean room. even during his depressed phase, he still managed to stress-clean.
his eyes wandered around the room, stopping on a pink shoe box in the corner. he could feel his heart tighten at the sight of it.
he got out of bed and made his way to the box, picking it up and sitting against his bed on the floor. he hesitantly opened it, memories flooding his mind.
as if it was yesterday, he could remember everything. the sound of her voice, the way she looked at him, the feeling, the smell– it was too vivid.
“happy 3 months!” misaki cheered, a pink box in her hands, a white ribbon wrapped around it.
“thank you, babe,” he smiled, his eyes crinkling, “happy 3 months,” he said, handing her a small white box and a bouquet of white roses.
“thank you!” she laughed.
his vision became blurry as he peeled off the lid, revealing various items. it had a notebook filled with letters by her— in her hand writing, and a hoodie nicely folded under it.
his tears caressing his cheeks, missing the feeling of her touch, something he deeply craved. he couldn’t stop wondering if she was also suffering; if she missed him as much as he missed her.
he shut the box, pushing it under his bed before getting up. he wiped his tears, leaving his bedroom and to the bathroom.
when he looked in the mirror, he felt twice as worse as he looked. his hair was uncombed, his eyebags were visible from a mile away and he had tear stains along his cheeks.
he immediately hopped in the shower, fixing himself up.

ding dong.
“i got it, mom,” sunghoon called as he hurried down the stairs.
“sunghoon..”
“it’s just the boys,” he told her.
“are you okay?” she asked, grasping lightly at his forearm, “do you want to talk about it?”
he paused, looking at her face, “i’ll talk about it when i’m ready.”
she nodded, understanding before going back to the living room with his sisters. sunghoon pulled open the door, revealing jungwon, heeseung, sunoo, and tae.
“where’s jay?” he asked.
“he said he has something to do and will be a little late,” heeseung informed him, all of them entering sunghoon’s abode.
they all switched to slippers and followed him upstairs to his room. it looked different than it did 20 minutes ago.
the curtains were pushed to the side, light coming through his window and his bed was made nicely. once they all got to his room, they shut the door and piled on his bed.
“so.. you called us over,” tae said, breaking the silence, “did you want to talk about what happened?”
sunghoon debated to tell them the full truth about misaki and him, wondering if she would ever tell the truth to someone. the thought of her made him bite his tongue.
his arm going to cover his face before letting it all out. his cries are something they haven't heard before. sunghoon isn't the type to cry unless it was really important to him.
his friends instantly chose to comfort him, putting they're arms around him.
"it's okay, sunghoon hyung," jungwon said, patting his back.
"let it out, its gonna be okay."
they continued to comfort they're best friend as he tried to channel his breath. nevertheless, it seemed impossible.
"i.. i miss her so much," he cried, his sleeve getting drenched.
jungwon and sunoo fought back the tears to cry with him, "it'll get better."
he attempted to contain himself from crying, sniffling. he removed his arm from his face, the thought of her, made him begin to cry again.
"wait.. no," he sobbed, an image of her trapped in his mind, "she's not... she's not coming back."
they continued to hug him, and repeated that it'd be okay. meanwhile, jay stood at the door absolutely crushed at the sound of him breaking down. his fresh tears falling from his eyes.
he covered his mouth with his hands, muffling his cries as sunghoon's cries flooded his ears. cursing himself that he couldn't protect his best friend.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
thump. thump. thump.
the door was pulled open, revealing a man connected to an iv pole.
jay furrowed his eyebrows, "hello, is misaki home?"
"no," he mumbled, "she's at her friend's house for the weekend."
with that jay, went to the next house in mind.
thump. thump. thump.
"is misaki here?"
wonyoung glared at the boy, clearly annoyed, "go home, jay."
but before she could close the door, jay stopped it with his foot.
"please let me talk to her."
she looked at him through the crack in the door, opening it for him, "five minutes and five minutes only."
"got it," he noted, sliding his shoes off and followed her down a long hallway.
she knocked on a door before peeking in, "jay's here.."
he could hear a voice say "tell him to go away.." he knew it was misaki by the way they sounded; hoarse and worn out.
"i told him he has exactly five minutes," wonyoung said, side eyeing jay from the door.
she reluctantly moved away, pushing it open for him to enter. jay moved past her, quickly taking in the atmosphere.
misaki was sitting on the bed against the headboard, the blanket swallowing half of her. she stared at jay with a tense face.
"i want to know what happened with you and sunghoon," he said in all honesty.
"why don't you just go ask him?" she asked, attitude setting in, "he is your best friend after all."
"he.. he hasn't exactly talked to us about it and i'm sure he doesn't want to."
"and you believe that i want to?" she retorted, now glaring at the boy.
he paused, taking in the change of tension, "please.. please tell me what happened."
misaki looked at him, tears threatening in her eyes. she averted her eyes to the blanket in her lap, hands beginning to toy with it. her breathing becoming unusual.
"jay.." she mumbled, "i fucked it up, you were right," she sobbed, "it was.. it was around the last week of school when.. theo sent me a photo of he and i kissing from last semester."
jay was about to butt in but she continued, "and before you get all mad at me, no i didn't kiss him. i don't know why people don't believe me," she cried, "i feel like i'm going crazy. i.. i know i didn't kiss him. he came onto me, he was.. he.."
"don't tell me he.." jay mumbled, misaki looked at him– tears filled the brim of her eyes, her lips trembled, "i'm so sorry, misaki. i.. i didn't know."
she wiped her tears with a tissue in her hand, "i didn't tell many people. no one really knows except you, ryu, and won."
"so why'd you break it off if you just got a picture?" he asked.
"theo threatened to post it online," misa confessed, "and.. and the video also had park sara in it. it could ruin her reputation, all of which sunghoon would not want. he said he won't post it if i break up with sunghoon."
"you could've told him–"
"told him what, jay? you.. you want me to tell him that in that video i was about to get raped? that in that video i was getting assaulted and no one believed me?" she was at the verge of screaming at him, absolutely furious, "and with you telling me every other day that i was in the wrong was just as worse!"
"misaki," he began, "theo told us you came onto him.."
"i know his side. i know the words people called me, i know the rumors being spread like wild fire," tears tracing her face, "i really liked him, jay. i really wanted it to work out."
thump. thump. thump.
"jay, you should go," wonyoung said, avoiding eye contact with him, "ryujin is about to get back, and she wouldn't be happy to see you here."

THE PHOTOBOOTH | 011. NEW BEGINNINGS
[WC] . 1500 prev ! mlist ! next
sunghoon and misaki have been dating for a while now, they were now eating lunch together, just them on the rooftop.
she stared, surprised to see he had got above a C on his english exams, "oh my gosh!"
she jumped, out of excitement, "you're improving!"
"well i have a good teacher what could i say," he shrugged, putting the papers back in his folder and into his backpack.
"great job," she said, going back to her food.
"okay so.. i have a competition today," he added, she nodded looking up at him.
"i know," she said, "i saw your calendar."
"yeah well, i want you to go," sunghoon mentioned, "and maybe meet my family. they've been wanting to meet you actually."
"they have? well your sister knows me."
"that's different," he shook his head, "you know it is."
suddenly she was attending to his competition, about to leave her house when she was stopped by her father.
"my saki," he called out from his bedroom door, "where are you going?"
"sunghoon's skating competition," she said, approaching the bed room door, looking in to see dr. k sitting beside him, "hi, dr. k."
"hello misaki," she waved, "how have you been?"
"great."
"sunghoon is her boyfriend," her father giggled like a girl kicking her feet.
"dad," misa groaned, "don't make it weird."
"how long have you guy's been dating for?" dr. k asked.
"about 2 months and a half," she answered.
dr. k gaped at her, "sounds great. in fact, your father was wondering if he could come."
misa glanced at him, he was smiling widely– his eyebrows jumping up at her. she looked at him in disbelief.
"father.."
"my saki," he interrupted, "sunghoon is your boyfriend, i want to be able to support him as well. if my daughter likes him, i do too!"
she looked at dr. k for some back up but she shrugged before saying, "i already told him he could if you allow him."
if you guys couldn't guess, they were both in misaki's car driving to the local arena. she accompanied her father as they tried to find a place to sit. particularly searching for sunghoon's family.
"okay," she sighed heavily, fog coming out of her mouth, "father, sit down real quick while i text sunghoon."
he obeyed, slowly sitting down on the bench. the arena was basically filled and hard to spot people.
"okay, so according to sunghoon they should be near the middle in the middle row or something," misa said.
they made they're way to the designated area, in hopes to not get lost.
"hey, you," a voice called out, clearly with an attitude, "choi misaki, over here."
it was park sara. beside her was they're parents, including another sibling. misaki didn't know sunghoon had two sisters.
she led her father to them before bowing, "hello, i'm choi misaki and this is my father, choi hinata."
"nice to meet you," he smiled widely, "sunghoon is such a nice boy!"
"thank you," his parent's thanked, misaki helped him sit beside them as they started to converse.
hesitantly, she sat beside sunghoon's youngest sister– since sara was giving her a weird stare.
"misaki, right?" the youngest spoke in curiousity, she nodded, "nice to meet you, i'm park yeji."
"hi," misa smiled.
"sunghoon talks about you a lot," she added, gesturing for her to come closer, "but my sister says she doesn't like you."
"sunghoon talk's about me?"
yeji hummed, sara nodding in agreement which caught her attention.
"yeah, he does," she said, looking at the rink, "for some reason, he likes you. i could see it."
"one time i saw him smiling at his phone and he was texting you," yeji said, smiling joyfully, "and he's kind of mean, but that's a form of love for him so don't take him too seriously."
misaki couldn't help but listen to them. did sunghoon really talk about me that much?
"i don't know," misa smiled, embarrassedly.
sara glanced at her, "what's so special about you anyway?"
"sara unnie, don't be mean!" yeji told her, sara's eyes stuck on mine.
the competition took place and sunghoon did fantastic like he always does. misa could see how supportive his family was. despite her being there, sara looked genuinely happy for him.
after the competition, sunghoon had placed first overall. misaki cheered as loud as she could for him, they all walked to the main entrance waiting for sunghoon.
"sara," misaki said, attempting to pull her to the side, "can we please talk?"
she paused before nodding and walking off to a deserted hallway where no one would hear them.
"what do you want, choi misaki?" she asked, clearly annoyed– arms crossed over her chest.
"i wanted to talk about what happened last semester."
sara scoffed, "what's there to talk about? theo liked you, it is what it is."
"sara," her voice going quiet, "whatever you heard, it's not true."
"it's not true that you guys kissed?" she asked, eyes full of boredom, "don't lie to me, yes you may date my brother– in fact you can date whoever you want!"
"sara, it wasn't like.."
"you and theo kissed when theo and i were talking, you.. you were in the wrong," her voice becoming shaky as the memories started to flood her mind.
"he kissed me! it wasn't like that, i knew you liked him so i wouldn't have done that on purpose. he came onto me," misa attempted to explain but sara continued to brush it off.
"did he? because after it all went down you just ran off. if anything you came onto him, that's what it looked like," sara continued, "theo even said so himself... you came onto him, you started it and you begged for his attention–"
"i did none of that," misaki said, betrayal laced in her voice, "sara, you were my best friend. i went to go find you afterwards and when i saw you, you were with him. you didn't even hear me out, you just slapped me in.. in front of everybody!"
"misaki, i don't know what to believe," she scoffed lightly, clearly puzzled by the situation, "because weeks after, theo and i broke it off. he told me he couldn't stop thinking about you, and the fact that you were my best friend– he didn't want anything to do with me."
she could hear the hurt and sadness in sara's voice, "i'm.. i'm sorry, sara but it's true, he came onto me. i didn't want to kiss him. i knew you liked him and i would never do something to betray you. please believe me," it was as if she was begging for it, something misaki doesn't do.
"i.. i need some time, please," sara uttered, walking back to the main entrance leaving her by herself.
slowly after, misaki went back to the group.
"misaki," mrs. park said, grabbing her hands, "you and your father should come over for dinner some time, we would love to have you."
"we would love to come," she smiled.
"thank you for supporting sunghoon and ice skating too," she thanked, "i think because of you, sunghoon has been improving much more easily and his grades are getting better. thank you."
"that's all sunghoon," misa laughed, "thank you."
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
it was now after the competition and it was dark out. they were now at the park, in front of misaki's house. just misa and him on the swings.
"congrats on first place," she told him, nodding whilst impressed.
"thanks, babe," he laughed, begin to swing at a slow speed.
she watched him, get higher and higher, unconsciously admiring him.
hesitantly, she called out to him, "sunghoon."
"what's up?'" he asked, slowing down on the swing.
"i have something to ask you," he nodded for her to continue, his swing coming to a stop, "do.. do you like me?"
he blinked at her, unsure of what to say. his silence answered her question.
"for how long?" she asked, her voice getting quiet.
he wasn't even sure himself, not pulling his eyes away from her because he was scared that if he did then he wouldn't be able to look at her again.
"since the mall," he said, "i've liked you since the mall, but my feelings for you have grown stronger ever since we started to fake date."
she couldn't help but stare at him, her reaction was unreadable.
"i know it's wrong but i truly didn't want other people to know i'm getting tutored, that parts true."
"are you sure you like me?" she asked, "maybe.. maybe you don't know the feeling.. maybe you're still unsure."
"i like you, misaki," he confessed, "i truly do, these last two months have been wonderous for me. i know my feelings are real because when i'm with you my heart begins to race, i get nervous, and i get this funny feeling in my stomach. i get this thought in the back of my head wishing that i don't mess it up."
everything he was saying, was exactly the same as how he makes her feel. is that what it means to like someone?
"if that's true then.." she mumbled, "i think i like you too."
note: yall, i could write better chapters than this.
