A fun concept! (This is sarcasm, it is not fun).
Ghost being captured and tortured to the point that when they find his body it's nearly unrecognizable but they're able to identify him by Soap's dog tag around his neck (or vice versa)

I don’t know anything about the military, and I especially don’t know anything about the British military, but I have watched My Chemical Romance’s The Ghost Of You music video several times, so the point I’m trying to make is---Soap and Ghost at a military ball.
At the beginning of the event, Soap asks Ghost to dance. Ghost, of course, refuses and Soap graciously accepts his rejection (with some light teasing), opting instead to float around the room talking and laughing with old colleagues, but as the night winds down, Ghost catches Johnny alone at a table, smiling but somewhat sadly as he watches Alejandro and Rudy sweep along the floor together, watches Gaz twirl his younger sister around the room, and finally Ghost approaches Soap to ask him to dance. He almost backs out, but when Johnny looks up at him positively beaming, he realizes he’s willing to never live down the others’ jokes if it means he gets to make Johnny smile like that.

Soap and Ghost were drinking after a long mission when everyone else had already gone to bed. For the first time, Ghost noticed the small silver crucifix Johnny wore around his neck behind his tags. He'd assumed Soap had grown up Catholic being from Scotland, but it was easy to lose your religion in their line of work.
"You believe in God," he said, gesturing vaguely to the metal cross. It was more of a statement than a question.
Soap glanced down at the necklace and shrugged. "Gotta believe in something," he replied noncommittally.
Ghost hummed, turning the idea over in his mind. "I don't."
Soap furrowed his eyebrows, staring at Ghost like he was the center of the universe. "Nothing at all?" he asked.
Ghost couldn't hold Soap's gaze as he finished the last of his drink.
"Maybe you, Johnny."

I had this idea that when Soap knows Ghost is going to be returning late from a mission but he won't be awake to greet him, he leaves a cup of tea outside his door.
And then I thought about Ghost not returning, being presumed KIA, and Soap continuing to take the cold tea away the next morning and leave a new mug at night just in case.

Ghost getting sick, delirious with fever, and begging Johnny not to leave him. At first Soap thinks he's just asking him to stay to take care of him, but as Ghost slips further away from lucidity he's nearly crying and begging until Soap realizes he's actually pleading with him not to leave him for good, the feverish state acting as almost a truth serum for his hidden fears.

ChatGPT Writes SoapGhost I
Recently I've been testing different AI sites to determine the best platform for roleplay. Here's a section from my latest chat using a jailbroken ChatGPT I thought was funny.
For context, Soap overheard a group of recruits joking/gossiping about his relationship with Ghost (before they were together).
CW: Nothing explicit, but mildly suggestive.
Again, this was written primarily by AI, so apologies if anything feels out of character.
"'What do you think, Lt?" Soap asked dryly. 'Might as well take me right here since everyone's already picturin' it. You a top or bottom?' he remarked sarcastically, eyes still scanning the crowd to avoid meeting Ghost's gaze.
Ghost let out a low chuckle, shaking his head at Soap's comment. He knew Soap's tendency to use sarcasm as a defense mechanism, but he also understood the underlying frustration.
'Sorry to disappoint, Soap, but I don't swing that way,' Ghost replied, his tone light but tinged with mischief. He leaned closer to Soap, dropping his voice to a low murmur. 'And even if I did, I'd at least have the decency to wait until after training hours.'
Soap finally met Ghost's gaze, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. 'You're no fun, Simon. Just thought we'd give the recruits something extra to gossip about.'
Ghost's eyes gleamed with amusement as he glanced at the recruits. 'They've got enough to talk about already. Let's not give them any more ammunition.'
'Shame,' Soap shrugged. 'Was hoping to at least get a free dinner out of ya.'
'I hate to break it to you, Soap, but I'm not the type to wine and dine just anyone. You'll have to earn that dinner.'
Soap feigned a look of disappointment, his voice laced with playful sarcasm. 'Oh, the lengths I have to go to impress you, lieutenant. It's truly a challenge.'
Ghost raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at his lips. 'Impress me? Johnny, you've been trying to do that since the day we met. I'm still waiting.'
Soap leaned in closer. 'Oh, Ghost, you know I'm a man of many talents. Just give me a chance and I'll show you what I'm capable of.'
Ghost's smirk widened as he looked at Soap, his eyes glinting. 'Is that a promise, MacTavish? Because I can be a tough critic.'
Soap laughed, his gaze meeting Ghost's with a mix of humor and intensity. 'I wouldn't have it any other way, Lt. I thrive under pressure.'"
