Love always wins 🌈

Queer couple featuring bleeding heart flowers, which symbolize passionate love. I was inspired by all the flowers in bloom when I was traveling in England in May back in 2022. It sparked an idea for a mini-series of couples with some of the flowers I spotted on my trip. This piece is my favorite one by far!

Fun fact: my partner and I were used as references for the posing in this piece!

These two images were mock book covers for these two wonderful women artists: Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun and Helen Frankenthaler. They are separated by more than a few decades, but they were both pivotal women artists in a field dominated by men.

These were made in Adobe Fresco using a mixture of vector brushes and rasterized brushes.

Women of Legend

Here are a few older pieces that I wanted to share. Most of these were done in 2020-2021 and they are from a series I called Storyteller, highlighting women of legend and mythology that haven't necessarily been portrayed in the best light--or much at all. Starting at the top on the left, we have Eve, then Persephone. the next row is Pandora and Jezabel, then finally Lilith and Rhiannon.

These pieces were created entirely in Adobe Fresco using mostly vector brushes and vector-created shapes.

I had a lot of fun with this series and there are a few more from Storyteller that are not in this batch of images.

Hi tumblr!

I'm Murph and I'm so glad you dropped by! I go by any pronouns, I identify as queer and I create fun, whimsical, and romantic work. Recently, I've been making work based on Greek mythology, specifically the story of Ariadne--the brains behind the labyrinth escape from the Minotaur. I'm excited to explore her story and how it connects with the story of another favorite figure of mine from Greek mythology: Dionysus.
