Honestly, probably the best social tip I could ever give you guys is literally just ask. Need to make a doctor's appointment but don't know how? Call the doctor's office and ask. Don't know the meaning of what someone said? Ask them. Don't understand the instructions you were given? Ask them to repeat or clarify. This has literally never failed me, no one's gotten angry, no one's refused to answer.

Even in situations where you think it might not work, I once accidentally missed a deadline to accept a job offer, so I called and asked if they could reset it and they did. Just today I called a doctor and asked how to schedule an appointment, the lady told me how, and then I did it. Didn't know if someone was being sarcastic or not, so I asked and they told me. Just ask.

lily evans headcanons except she’s autistic (in honour of my recent autism diagnosis!!!!) :)

- lily has never liked change. she cannot STAND it. she becomes Head Girl not just because of her love of the school, but because of her love of rules and routines. she’s constantly pushing james to attend his meetings on time, literally knows all of the marauders schedules by heart and they f**king love it because if lily didn’t have her shit together for them they’d all be dead

-james’ favourite thing is to listen to lily when she’s info-dumping about a certain topic (it’s been fleetwood mac for a month now and he’s still not tired of it) he just sits on the sofa in the common room with her head on his lap and listens as she talks, and he thinks how beautiful she looks when she’s passionate about something it’s just insane

-parties are NOT her thing. it’s not just the pure sensory hell that comes with quiddich after-parties, but the having-to-socialise-and-then-ending-up-in-a-burnout-situation kind of thing. she organises them all, but never attends. the one time she does (for james’ sake) it ends in a meltdown and james forbids her from going to one when she doesn’t feel like it ‘because who actually gives a f**k, i’ll dance with sirius if i have to!’

-after this party scenario james buys her some cute headphones that she literally doesn’t stop wearing, and remus gives her his earplugs because he’s apparently got used to sirius’s snoring and doesn’t need them anymore. after gryffindor win the quidditch house cup lily organises this huge party and tells james she wants to come to it,, james is wetting himself because he thinks she’s doing it for him and doesn’t want her to suffer through it all but she just pulls out her headphones and winks and saunters away and james is just like how the hell did i get to date such a BAD BITCH HUH

- all the marauders know that lily is the absolute worst at small talk. learning in class is fine, but she rants daily to remus about how small talk is an absolute waste of time, and remus’s socially anxious self can only agree. if lily’s having to small talk with someone and is very obviously uncomfortable, the others with suddenly cause a  f**king scene right there in the room just to get her away from the situation. one time sirius got a literal boiled egg from out of his pocket (??) and chucked it at the wall- ‘what the hell, sirius?’ ‘i’m sorry, i panicked!’

-sometimes lily wont be able to sleep and sirius will find her in the common room all anxious and he just turns on some really loud 70′s rock on the record player because he knows that her favourite stim is jumping and they jump around like CRAZY until McGonagall comes to give them detention except Sirius chucks the invisibility cloak onto lily every time so that she won’t get into trouble

-contrary to what most people think, james and lily don’t have a super touchy relationship. sometimes she feels like she wants touch, sometimes it’s a no thank you sir from me, but james frankly doesn’t give a shit and he’s always so gentle about it. they have a special code that they use, like tapping each others leg or a little hand gesture, so james knows whats ok that day and what isn’t.

I won the 2004 Hugo Award for Best Short Story for an H. P. Lovecraft /Arthur Conan Doyle mashup fiction, so fanfiction had better be legitimate, because I'm not giving the Hugo back.

Or the 20O5 Locus Award for Best Novelette. I'm not giving that back either.

I am currently writing a new Kanej song inspired by chapter four of my fanfiction, wasteland, baby! on ao3. The hope is to be able to “produce” (as well as my friend Jack and I can) all three of my Kaz and Inej songs and create a little mini album for y’all on youtube!
