Why do managers/supervisors often suck at their jobs? The Peter Principle.
Per the Peter Principle, an employee will rise to the point of their incompetence. In Dr. Peter's own words, "the cream rises until it sours." This sociological principle explains why leadership often becomes toxic. As an employee rises in their field, they will reach an "ability plateau" and, rather than being demoted, simply perform their duties in a subpar manner.
Disclaimer: This does not mean that everyone becomes incompetent when topping out in their career advancement. It merely explains why some do become incompetent.

CNN is not fake news, but Trump's propaganda is
I have done my best not to add to the massive amount of political horsefuckery that's been posted on social media, but I came across an article on flipboard that just pissed me the hell off. The article to which I am referring brings to light the fact that the following post was made on Trump's official website: "FAKE NEWS STATION REFUSES TO RUN AD HIGHLIGHTING THE PRESIDENT’S FIRST 100 DAYS" I realize that the post in question was not regurgitated from the infantile mind of our current tiny hand having, quite possibly illiterate head of state, but by somebody that he's clearly authorized to act on his behalf. It is no secret that the White House has been engaged in an ongoing feud with various news outlets and...well, anybody who publicly disagrees with him. It begins by painting Trump and his ilk as victims of CNN's alleged "war on facts": "Today, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc was stopped by the mainstream media from running a new television ad on CNN. The new television ad entitled ā€œFirst 100 Days" highlights the President's first 100 days in office; exhibiting clear vision, resolute leadership, and an uncompromising dedication to the American people, just as he promised throughout his campaign." Ok.... First things first: HE HASN'T FUCKING DONE ANY OF THE SHIT LISTED ABOVE!!! Now that that is out of the way, I feel I must elaborate: Regarding the mention of his exhibition of "clear vision", I find this laughable. If their definition of the word "vision" is the possession of any sort of foresight, they are just dead wrong; he himself has stated that being president of a country was more difficult than he thought it would be, a statement that clearly showcases his lack of foresight. As for his "resolute leadership", I still don't see it. A good leader doesn't take to twitter to voice his disdain for everything sensible in rambling, barely coherent rants of 140 characters or less. Regarding his "uncompromising dedication to the American people", I just...I can't even put into words the absurdity of this claim. It goes on to state: "The campaign is continuing President Trump's approach of reaching out to the American people by directly highlighting his work over the first 100 days with this ad as well as fighting back against the continued media bias. 'It is absolutely shameful to see the media blocking the positive message that President Trump is trying to share with the country. It's clear that CNN is trying to silence our voice and censor our free speech because it doesn't fit their narrative,' said Michael Glassner, Executive Director. CNN takes issue with the ad’s message calling out the mainstream media for peddling fake news and not reporting on the fact that President Trump is making America great again." Instead of accusing reputable news outlets of bias for refusing to air what is essentially propaganda, he should probably focus on the following: Extinguishing some of those bridges he's already begun to burn with America's allies, as we will need them should he decide to push our military into another war. Not trampling on the rights of Americans who are not affluent white Christians under the guise of "national security". Not using illegal immigrants and those of the Islamic faith as scapegoats for his unfortunate revival of McCarthyism. Maybe taking a bit of a hiatus from twitter. Appointing competent individuals to head the government's various departments and agencies. Yeah, I realize that I've gone off topic; such is the nature of Adhd. My point is that, as CNN is a privately owned business, they have the right to refuse service to anybody (yes, even to the president) for any reason they choose. So, trump wants to "protect US interests in the South China Sea" from what he sees as unnecessary expansion. China's rebuttal is that we would have to "wage war" on them to accomplish this goal. While I understand that if China started armed conflict with US allies, we would have to intervene. That's how alliances work. What I do not understand, is the need to engage in pissing contests with other nations, let alone nations with nuclear weapons, over shit that doesn't even belong to us. The South China Sea is in international waters and, therefore, falls under UN and ICC jurisdiction. I realize that political posts on social media accomplish nothing, apart from annoying those who happen to stumble across them while looking at cat videos and shit, but I felt the need to use this medium to clear my head a bit. Military service members swear an oath to protect the US against all enemies, foreign and domestic; not to fight over trump's bruised ego or hurt feelings. I apologize if the content of this post waxes overly political, but I just had to vent. End of rant. Side note: Is it me, or are we inching closer and closer to the Fallout universe...?

So...I just watched a short clip of Sean Spicer's press conference. This is what I took from it: Spicer: "Stop making fun of my boss, you guys! Seriously, it's not nice. Period." Spicer's forehead: "I'm slowly overtaking the rest of the face. By the end of the year, motherfucker's gonna have a face like Slender Man! (insert evil laugh)" My opinion: 1. Your face makes me sad to look at. 2. I felt like I was watching the "before" section of an erectile dysfunction infomercial. 3. If the press works you up into that much of lather you should go home, cry, and then go get a job denying mortgage applications or some shit, because politics just ain't for you. Period.

Hey there! My name is Meg and I’m a 16 year old girlĀ with a rare disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. EDS is a rare disease that affects every cell in my body, it is causing my body to literally destroy itself and is getting worse every day. I became ill at 13 years old, by the age of 14 i was wheelchair bound. When i was 15, i was left completely bed bound due to severe complications in my head and neck. My brain is sinking in my head, causing my spine to collapse, this is causing my brain stem to twist and spinal cord to bend - it is putting pressure on my windpipe when I move and makes breathing very difficult. The days are dark and right now, there is no light.
But i am not giving up
in order to keep fighting i need an incredibly complex surgery to stabilise and correct the problems in my cervical spine and skull.. This surgery has never been performed in my country before so i have to get american surgeons involved. There are a lot of expenses that I simply cannot afford.
I used to have a blog with 25,000 incredible followers that helped me stay strong but my blog was hacked and deleted the other day. i used my blog to raise money for my very expensive medical needs and now I’m earning nothing.Ā I remade, with the same url, hoping that i will be able to raise/earn more money. i will not give up. i have fought so hard, i can’t give up. So if you have a few pounds/dollars/euros/etc that you don’t need or whatever then i would really appreciate if you could donate to my gofundme, which is: http://www.gofundme.com/team-meg
Alternatively, if you do not have money to spare, I have ads on my blogs. This is my humour blog and this is my main blog.Ā All I need from you is 1 click on each ad, keep the tab open for five minutes and you will be helping me out hugely. It takes very little effort and it has a huge impact.
Thank you so much for reading this and sharing/donating/etc. i really appreciate it, have a wonderful day <3

Can we PLEASE remove the stigma for blue collar work in America?
ā€œYou don’t wanna be a garbage collector when you grow up, do you?ā€
$34,000 a year, no college needed?
God forbid you take an honest job $7,000 above Michigan’s average cost of living line.
ā€œYou don’t wanna be a ditch digger.ā€
Bitch, I was making $15 an hour, post tax, doing exactly that, the fuck is wrong with it? (Other than it was physically exhausting.)
We need to help America, as a whole, understand that college is not, and should not be he only option, and that there is NO SHAME in trade school or even getting a career right out of high school.
I, personally, know plumbers making $80,000+ a year. Better than most 4 year degree workers.
We need plumbers, janitors, truck-drivers, garbage collectors, machinists, to keep this nation running smoothly. And they deserve respect for what they do.
Miss me with your classist bullshit.
