If You Are Safe - A Bakugou Fic

In celebration of the My Hero Academia anime catching up to the start of the final arc, I’ve reposted my Bakugou fic with some major edits. Hopefully it’s far more enjoyable now.

Summary: Bakugou knew Deku was going to leave a letter for him too, but he didn’t know what he had been expecting when Deku decided to leave them all behind. OR Bakugou’s reaction to Deku leaving UA.

Here’s a little snippet.

Katsuki had heard the door to his bedroom close in his sleep. He thought at first that he was dreaming, hearing distorted noises from the fight that had happened a few days ago. But something told him he was wrong. He wasn’t sure how long it took for his body to fully awaken, but however long it felt too long. By the time he could finally muster up enough energy to open his eyes, the faint light of the sun shone through his balcony window. On his desk sat a single sheet of paper. Katsuki wasn’t sure if a part of him knew Deku would do it even before he saw the paper. Maybe he ignored it because he didn’t want to believe it. Or maybe he was scared—scared of what it meant if Deku really left. What choices Katsuki would have to make without him there. 

He read the letter Deku had left for him almost immediately, muscles aching as he launched out of bed and reached for his desk. It took him two minutes. Two agonizingly long minutes, and then he felt a boiling fire inside of him that only Icy-Hot could understand. 

That Idiot. That absolute fucking dumb ass! That self-sacrificing, stupid litt-

He had to stop himself from destroying the paper. He knew Deku had left one for everyone. But even one for him? He wrote one personally for him. Katsuki swore when he got his hands on him he’d shove that stupid letter down his throat and make him ever regret writing it. 

The whole class heard his scream that morning. It wasn’t like he cared or anything, but looking back on it they were probably confused. He treated Deku like trash, day in and day out. Who expected Katsuki Bakugou to give a shit about anything that happened to Izuku Midoriya? That damn nerd kept a smile on his face no matter what he said. A smile that for so long Katsuki hated. But now, he longed to see it again. Surely the rest of the class felt that way. Maybe they understood him. He hoped they understood him…

Diasomnia as Children

Here’s a few headcanon about the Diasomnia babies because I’m head empty.

Malleus:

When he was little he followed the forest animals around the castle grounds, but particularly the flying ones. He was interested in anything with wings, and he’d constantly ask Lilia if he’d grow wings like the birds. Lilia would reply: “You will have the greatest wings in all the skies.” It’s also because of their wings that Malleus was first drawn to the gargoyle when he was still just a little fae.

Silver:

He would watch Lilia play his many instruments as a child, but he never dared touch them. He was too scared that they’d break, but he always admired the way Lilia played the violin. The one instrument he did try was the cello, but he quickly realized he was way too small for it. He found his love of sword fighting because he came across Lilia’s old war artifacts. At first Lilia didn’t want him touching any of it, but Silver’s eyes lit up and he held the sword as if he’d known it for decades. He couldn’t say no.

Sebek:

Unlike most kids he hates going to the dentist not because of the fact that he disliked all the procedures. It was because he already heard all the dentist lectures at home. The same way children of teachers can never escape a lecture, Sebek was constantly reminded to take care of his teeth. He only began to enjoy the dentist more after he began his training with Lilia. Not from any particular intervention on Lilia’s part. The fae hardly ever went to the doctor anymore. It was because he happened to begin learning about his family’s infamous biting power. After that, he’d go to the dentist and tell his father “My jaw will remain strong for as long as I train!”

All of these were inspired by my fic Once Upon His Dream, which is Diasomnia centric. Chapter 2 was just posted. Check it out!
