Evidently, she was trained to use a whip in a longer action sequence, but only the brief shot of her wielding it at the Nygmatech party remains in the theatrical cut.

Now that I'm thinking about it... How many of the batkids (especially Robins) had their first inappropriate crush on Bruce?

Like, most kids have it on a teacher, or someone in a similar position of power. But Bruce is the ultimate "adult who showed kindness to me" for his kids - sometimes he's even the first to have done so.

Add in that they're all at least half traumatized, and that's got to fuck with their heads.

the best part about dick grayson is the fact that his happy-go-lucky nature is a façade built on hundreds of micro-analyses of each current situation and his seemingly carefree expression is a very carefully calculated mask to make sure people in the vicinity are comfortable. when it breaks down it is not because he has suddenly Become Something Else - only that he has failed to contain what usually sits below the surface. also, he really is just unnervingly cheerful in odd situations.

Thinking again about how Duke's backstory was a deliberate mirror to Bruce's, and was designed to play out the same way if Bruce had not intervened. In light of Bruce's heavy idolisation of Duke, I think Duke might represent the ultimate positive end goal of Batman - one less orphan in Gotham. I think part of why Bruce loves Duke is that for someone who came so close to losing his parents in the same way, Duke ends up so unlike him, a symbol of light & truth & community. It's not that Bruce thinks if his parents lived he could've been like Duke (because Bruce knows a lot of who Duke is is just who Duke is). BUT Bruce saves Duke's parents from death, preventing the Wayne tragedy from reoccurring, and then meets Duke again further down the line. And the Duke he sees is strong, good, stubborn, a hero. Someone shaped by his past but not controlled by it; someone who does not need a Batman. Duke is a symbol of Gotham's future - in many ways the best version, the ending Bruce has always dreamed of. And that's why Duke is SO important to Bruce forever & always!!

being a comics fan is like i could give you some general information abt any given character but i'm not necessarily a scholar of theirs you would have to see a specialist to be sure. the same way like in a pinch a pediatrist could tell you you were having a heart attack but you probably want to follow up with a cardiologist
