The status-quo is something people bristle at changing. Even when it’s causing untold harm. >,<

Protesters block traffic. An ambulance is unable to get where it needs to be. Someone dies as a result.

Many people say that the protesters should be jailed or even shot.

The logic seems to be "if you cause someone to not get the medical care that they need and they die, you should suffer for it".

But that's exactly what CEOs do when they price gouge or deny claims. So why is the protester considered a criminal who it's justifiable to kill but the CEO isn't?

I'm a fandom oldie and a strong proponent of "ship and let ship", and I defend everyone else's right to ship what they love... But I think that gives people the idea that I like, automatically love every single ship??? Or every single trope?

I don't though!

There are a lot of fandom tropes that are on my "absolutely fuck no" list. There are a lot of irk kinks that are also on my "nope absolutely not" list, too. Personally, this is healthy. I'm able to look at something and go "Yep, I hate it, but it's not harming anyone, so continue to do as you please."

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted

their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"

like, Cat tells her about her suspicions, she hesitates but takes off her glasses, Cat calls her supergirl... and then what?

bc cat didn't seem to want to expose her or anything. she just was too direct and ended up scaring kara. but what if after that initial shock kara just came clean?

i encourage you to go to your favourite writer's ao3 page and comment on an older fic, because i can assure you that it will make their day. It can mean so much to see your work doesn't disappear into the void to be never seen again after a day of people interacting with it. Just, if you have the time, go comment on an older work
