I think some people need the reminder that you can just not like things. For whatever reason. You don't need to justify things you don't like to anyone, as long as you're not making people feel bad for liking it.
You're able to not like something, but that doesn't make it weird.
You're able to not like that people like something, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad people (within reason of course)
And it's also important to remember that you may like something that other people don't like. That doesn't mean they have a personal vendatta against you for liking it.
That doesn't mean you're wrong, nor are they wrong.
People have preferences for everything. Just because you prefer something, that doesn't mean you're "right". This is fandom, there are very few things that even have a "right" and "wrong" side.

Every so often I see... interesting takes about Zemo that leave me questioning if we... all saw the same stuff.
Like, you know he commanded a death squad before his fam even died, right? This man is not a good dude. Sure, maybe it was in the name of his country but also... his country was a shit show and he said as much.
So I am absolutely perplexed by the number of "he wouldn't do x" and "why does everyone make him so toxic" kinds of things. He actively waterboarded Vasily Karpov like one of the first times we saw him. He was put in the RAFT because he is a fucking terrorist.
This feels like another one of those things I guess that reminds me of Hannibal. Him being polite doesn't make him any less of a cannibal. You can be both polite and a bad person.

Wow, people got so pressed by my previous post.
Thing is, people are allowed to write what they want. It's a free space. And fiction influences reality? Yeah, it does. But maybe instead of harassing a bunch of Tumblr users, go yell at Hollywood movie makers who pump out movies and series that actually make a dent.
And people here, including myself are mature adults with jobs (at least I have) who understand what's okay and not okay. We understand that relationship should be safe, sane and consensual. What anyone writes doesn't reflect their mental health or mental state. If it did, then all the writers of horror genre are effing mad.
People have ideas, people have fantasies. Let them write and live. You don't like it? Unfollow. Simple as that.
Also, I saw someone say that "oh, if you like to be hurt or hurt others, then you have mental health issues".
No, not if you do it with consent. Sadomasochism exists.
Also, no one has any artistic ownership over fictional characters. Let's not do the "oooh this is not cannon" bs. Let people write and live bruh.
Go ahead and be pressed at this post as well. Or be a mature adult and move on.
Also, all the Donna and Miranda stans. You all are heard. You all are appreciated. You all DO NOT have mental health issues JUST because you like characters go cray cray. You all are NOT disgusting.

Not me wanting to do a Chalastor/Radiobelle roleplay but being scared to death of being attacked or mocked in the roleplay community for it 💀
Don't get me wrong I love Vaggie and Charlie together and loved Vaggie's angel look alongside the backstory and how they met, but Vivzie isn't good at writting women and they don't have chemistry at all. Meanwhile I have always had a soft spot for Charastor and the dynamic/potential they had since the pilot came out. I know it will never be canon and don't intend in wanting it to be because I respect the characters sexualities/official pairings. BUT LEMME ENJOY MY FANON SHIP IN PEACEEEEE 😤😤😤

I apologize, I forgot to put a trigger warning before. I do mention suicide.
As a chronic pain patient/advocate who is newish but oldish to the game, I have learned that the argument of addiction is the reason people in pain are not getting proper pain relief. And if you are lucky to get pain relievers, it comes with a big, red scarlet sticker saying the medication “can cause dependency” on the bottle... well, think about it: if you have daily pain, you will need daily relief if you hope to live a normal life.
But there is a major difference between addiction & dependency:
Addiction is an insatiable desire for the medications immediate “euphoric” effects, aka “chasing the dragon” which typically lasts all day. The patient may end up over using/taking much more or all of the prescribed amount within a shorter time period.
Dependency is when the person needs the medication to sustain a decent quality of life. The patient is taking their prescribed medications as directed so that their body can function properly.
An example of dependency is a diabetic patient needing insulin so that they can live.
The problem is that addiction is in everyone, and everyone has some form of addiction that is waiting to be ignited. It is a basic human condition to “want more” and it can be a result of MANY things including a traumatic experience, or even the dreaded “peer pressure” during a high-school party. It can happen with gambling, sex, exercising, even food… It is a spectrum. And it is up to the person to determine their path.
We have reached a new stage of our awful human evolution. Being thin is a societal influence, something that people will kill them-selves for, and we now have everyday people using the diabetic prescription drug “ozempic” as a way to lose weight.
Diabetic patients who are dependent on this type of drug are unable to fill their prescriptions because of the high numbers of non-diabetic people using this drug for their personal gain- pun noted.
To be blunt or a bit dramatic, we could say they are abusing or misusing a diabetics drug.
A person in pain asking for medical attention is shamed, mocked, reported, harassed, and some extraordinary nurses have even taken it far enough to record their rejected “drug seekers” walking out from the hospitals as they’re laughing in the background.
We have been waiting for justice for what seems forever, and some pain warriors have even decided death is better than endless pain… there are so many. It’s not just pain patients either, an ER doctor Dr. Steve Ortiz committed suicide, because he was unable to help his patients. He was continually harassed by the ones who made these fucking rules. He wanted to bring light to the corruption with his death, leaving behind his wife and children in hopes for justice.
And now pain patients everywhere get to watch our society do exactly what they claim to hate us for: abusing someone else’s medication…
Self reflection is free, and everyone should use it daily.

Just a gentle reminder to let people portray a character as they wish (if someone wants to portray Micah as a modern-day feminist, power to them; you don't need to let yourself be restricted to the narrative -- it's boatloads of fun to think outside the box), and live and let ship. I'm not into particular ships but each to their own (lets not give trouble to folks over who they ship). My message isn't just about Tumblr but on Reddit (where I've encountered people vehemently opposed to all shipping in a game where there's slo mos of people being unalived), YT, Tiktok etc. Before I babble on further, I'll cut to the chase; just be kind to each other ❤️ There's enough ugly in the world that we should just let people be about whatever they do with their cowboys and cowgirls. Cute Vandermatthews for tax.

The good thing about Young Royals is that it’s entirely fictional which means you can literally explore any and all directions it could possibly go (e.g. Simon becoming a prince) without it having any real life consequences, that’s so neat

if anyone had to experience discourse everyday about their identity, they'd be bitter and angry too. so just think about that before you try to say like "x group is so mean and passive aggressive towards us, and we're victims for having to deal with them". You are the problem. Stop harassing people for their identities.
Yes, this means people with traits you don't like. It's not their fault that you can't be civil about someone else.
Before you reblog, this includes people with personality disorders, such as narcissistic personality disorder. This includes trans people, with or without dysphoria. This includes physically disabled people. This includes mentally disabled people. This includes nonbinary people. This includes pansexual and mspec people. This includes muslims and jewish people. This includes people who like "cringey" or "problematic" media. Like, this includes anyone who gets harassed on a daily and can't exactly choose whether or not they like something or have a specific identity.
I think I'd be bitter too if I got harassed everyday about things I can't change or things that I actively have joy in. Let's be nice and civil. No one deserves to be harassed and berated for normal things.

*small disclaimer since I know things are a little wild/pressure cookery atm: this is by no means a call or rallying cry or whatever to go after people that don’t agree with me or anything like that, this is just how I feel. We’re all looking at the same thing from different vantage points and there’s going to be things that don’t line up or even clash. It’s all good. I saw something essentially saying that it’s [unhinged? Too much? A sign someone needs to touch grass] if someone decides they’re done with the show if the pairing doesn’t happen in canon, and honestly? *tired shrug* I get that no one is owed anything from fiction, but I think you’re allowed to be frustrated when valid tropes and narrative structures don’t pay off, especially when there aren’t many places to turn to for the kinds of stories someone still in the proverbial margins might be looking for. As long as you don’t go around attacking the real life people acting/writing out/reasonably enjoying this fiction, it’s cool to be bothered and make an exit. I see something I don’t like here? I mute it and move on, no harm no foul. I’m giving myself and strangers space to feel how we feel and not catch hell for it. Fiction is supposed to be enjoyable, and by all means if you don’t enjoy something feel free to unpack that and work it out, but in the meantime you can also wash your hands of something, even if it’s just temporary. Life is too short and this is too minor to choose this kind of misery for the sake of being someone else’s definition of “getting it.”
I will also say, q*eerb*iting (yeah, I’m partially censoring it because I’m always kind of nervous and tetchy bringing up a phrase that’s been very loaded for a long time and incorrectly used in the worst of instances) doesn’t go away just because a show already has some good representation. I don’t have the energy or the credentials to go on at length about how, for better or for worse and in spite of its continued censorship/marginalization, wlw representation has typically come easier to major network productions than mlm representation, especially when the actors are conventionally handsome male leads; I also don’t want to get into the lack of queer men being allowed to show the same amount of physical intimacy as wlw and straight couples on said show, but that’s there too.
and finally, yeah, as a queer Black woman, I am happy for the representation I’ve got and am getting more recently in this instance, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love to see a queer relationship get the same treatment as all the straight couples (who started as friends or coworkers or rivals) that I’ve seen get after multiple seasons of speculation and hope.
You’re allowed to want more or better, you’re allowed to get frustrated, just make sure you don’t hurt anyone (including yourself).
