Briar Valley Headcanon(s)

When fae get married, they keep the surname of the spouse who is higher up on Briar Valley’s social ladder and/or has a better reputation.

Take the Zigvolt family, for example: Baul/Baur and Sebek have the same surname despite Baul having a daughter (I take note of this bc, in most (if not all) real-world countries, daughters typically take their husband’s surname in marriage.)

Sebek’s mom, as a fae, is naturally above Sebek’s dad (a human) in the social ladder, thus giving him (and their children) her surname (possibly for protective reasons; humans are still—from what I remember—not well-liked in Briar Valley.)

Bonus headcanon: fae are typically community-oriented and have tight-knit relationships. You hurt someone? You’ve hurt their whole community. Prepare to die.

Malleus’s situation (lack of community) is, therefore, very unusual! In fact, leaving child so socially isolated is practically (if not just) a crime!

I feel like we're almost in an era of like, reverse queerbaiting. Used to be that you'd be tricked into watching a show because the story implied there'd be gay rep, but now they're using gay rep to trick you into thinking there'll be a story.

A concept for consideration: fae blood, due to a high concentration of magic, has been used for powerful potions and such in the past. It has also been noted to expedite floral growth.

It can I wonder if I could write something about fae blood (minutely) helping Briar Valley recover from the Silver Owl’s war? From death comes life, and all of that.

I’m just saying, I think Lilia should be buff (or otherwise muscular) and have a bunch of scars 🤷

He was a general for… a while and it’s evident in canon that he’s still able to pull off feats of strength and agility.

Imagine if Catholic!Yuu came to Twisted Wonderland with a rosary or something similar and Lilia (who is very vampire-coded imo) just will not/cannot approach them when they have it on.

I don’t even believe Earth’s religions exist in Twisted Wonderland (or most of them, at the very least). Which makes it even better because then there’s literally no reason for Lilia to not be able to approach Yuu. He just can’t do it.

Hi, yeah, that’s also me. Posting this here (my alt) so that it doesn’t get lost in the mess of my main blog.

Anyways! If I had to put it in a short and kinda watered down way, Sachio and Volo have a “I used to distantly admire you and had to be content with just being you customer. But now we’re friends (and maybe more?) and I cannot be happier.” dynamic. Well, in Sachio’s eyes, that is. On Volo’s side, it’s more like “I was just using you for my plan at first but now I’ve come to value you as a close friend and partner. Please, join me in my quest of usurping Arceus and creating a new and better world.”

When it comes down to it, Sachio is a realistic optimist while Volo is a pessimistic idealist. Even after the temple battle, Sachio still believes that Volo has the potential to work through all of the things that have hurt and and see that the world can be beautiful and kind despite its cruelties and evil.

That’s why Sachio refuses to join Volo in his journey at the temple, even though it really hurts both of them when he rejects Volo’s offer and triggers the first battle.

After it ends Volo offers, pleads, again. Sachio refuses once more, and tries to voice his opinion to Volo, to offer his own hand. Volo, with Giratina’s (Arceus’s #1 hater at the time) bitter influence still present and going through a stew of emotions, begins the second battle.

And even when Sachio returns—triumphant, but a bit messed up (physically and emotionally) and unsure of where Volo is or if he’s still alive—never discloses the full truth of what happened to any of the Galaxy Team members. He hopes that one day—either before or after he is returned to his own time and place, if that ever happens—Volo will come around and visit Jubilife again. And, maybe he will see his happy portrait outside the photographer’s shop; and maybe he’ll know that, despite everything that’s happened between them, Sachio believed in him, loved him, enough to keep his name and reputation free of scorn.

Twitter = Charger (Rebranded as E-lite or S or smth) with tweets being either shots or snipes. I haven’t decided.

Tumblr = Rollr

YouTube = SplatTube. Started as a battle replay website but had to rebrand due to copyright issues with SplatNet.

Twitch = Splish. “Make a splash by streaming on Splish!” A good portion of the people steaming are those who can’t / don’t want to participate in battles, many of which being the squidkids who can’t fully shift forms yet.

Discord = Anchord. “Keep your social life from drifting away on Anchord!”
