I have to have seen the source material several times and don't write anyone that I don't have like... active daydreams about?? Like, if I'm not imagining these characters in scenarios, I'm not gonna write them... if that makes any sense...
Idk. Maybe I'm an odd one out, but I find that I can't write a character if I don't know them... if I haven't absorbed (or even seen) the source material... if I haven't been properly introduced to who they are on the surface and then peeled back a hundred layers to find out who they actually are... maybe I'm alone in this, who knows.

Well, now we know what's going on!!
“Fanfiction isn’t real writing.”
“Why don’t you read a real book?”
“You’re not a teenager, you can’t write fanfic!”
“You’re too old for fandom.”
We’ve all seen posts like these and rolled our eyes. We’ve each had someone hurtfully guffaw at our hobby. Times when we’ve been embarrassed to tell people what we’re doing when the screens are on and the keys are clicking.
Well, no more. It’s time to stand up for our craft and our age!
Get ready to join a writing contest that not only encourages “older” fanfiction authors, but downright has an age gate! That's right- you must be over 30 to join in on the fun!
Why 30? Because 29 7/8th sounded dumb.
The Storytellers Contest is a new idea, a new challenge, a new way to show off your skills and prove to the youths that age is but a number and things only get better with time. To participate, all authors, artists, and judges must be at least thirty years of age prior to the opening of registration. And what’s more? The characters must be over thirty as well. That’s right. In for a penny...
Each round of The Storytellers Contest will focus on a single actor and any eligible aged characters that they have portrayed. The stories will be gripping and immersive, with impeccable grammar and spot-on characterization. They will be crafted with care and judged by a panel of specially selected fanfiction authors who, not only know the pain of writing, but are - you guessed it - over thirty.
Once the judges have spoken and the scores have been tabulated, winners will be announced, and prizes will be given out. Yes, prizes! Fandom-specific prizes! Amazing prizes valued at over $1,100! Well, OK, not that much, but they’ll still be really cool. And, everyone who participates will get a badge for their blog and bragging rights for life.
For the inaugural round of The Storytellers Contest, we have chosen the incredible actor, director, singer, and producer Jensen Ackles. You know him from Supernatural, you’re counting down the days till you see him in Countdown, and now you’re gonna win a prize for crafting an epic story around him!
Head on over to Storytellers Contest: The Jensen Ackles Chronicles to find out more.
We can’t wait to see you there!

~ Rebekah Jordan's Commission Info for 2025 ~
Have you ever had a dream that you wish you could save and relive over and over again? A story idea that you simply cannot flesh out or find anything that comes close to your idea already written? Have you always wanted to see Yourself Actually in a story? Have you searched and searched for a good story focused around your out-of-the-way kink and it just does not exist? - I can help.
Come chat with me and I will help your fictional dream come true! Or, at the very least, committed to paper in an amazingly written story that you will adore.
Read on for more info, and please reblog to spread the word :)
How does it work?
You send me a message and we discuss what type of story you’d like. If I think I can do it properly for you- it’s a go!
You provide details about the character (you, someone else, multiples). Stories can be OFC, Actual People, or Reader Insert.
You leave me alone for a little while and when I return, you’ll get a PDF file of your fic (usually including custom art) emailed right to you!
What fandoms are you writing for lately?
Any fandom can be negotiated provided I am familiar with it and feel like I would do the details justice. Ex: I’ve watched football, but I’m not going write a great football story because I just don’t get it. ;)
Fandoms I have written for and am comfy with:
Supernatural, Supernatural RPF (Mostly all ships and characters/actors)
The Boys, The Boys RPF
The Walking Dead, TWD RPF (Rick, Negan, Daryl)
Marvel (Cap, Bucky, Sam Wilson), Marvel RPF (Evans & Stan)
Criminal Minds
YOU (Joe Goldberg)
The Magicians (All Characters and Ships)
The Winchesters, The Winchesters RPF
Daisy Jones & The Six (Billy Dunne)
Random RPF Actors/Singers
What Kind of Story Can You Do?
Anything. No, wait. I’m afraid you don’t believe me. I mean… ANY T H I N G. You want hardcore smut that boarders on problematic? I’m in. You want the fluffiest fluff that ever fluffed and would make Hallmark movies cringe? I got you. Angst? Dark stuff? General? Literally Anything you want. I only have one or two things I’m not comfortable with but that can all be discussed in private, and honestly, after 8 years doing this, no one’s ever come close to asking for them so you’re 1000% good to ask for whatever.
What’s the bottom line here?
Well, your story, which will be anywhere from 1,000 - 10,000 words depending on how wordy I get, will be a flat rate of $25. This includes my full attention to your story from start to finish, accompanying art, specific detail inclusion, and an emailed PDF file that you can print out or delete, or whatever you want. It’s yours.
I do not write for word counts, only for the story. If your complete story can be told in 1k words, that’s great. If it takes another 40,000 and we end up with a novel, we can discuss a little extra depending on how far we go! If you'd like a series... let's start at $30 and see what happens! I’m more worried about giving you the best story I can than worrying about word counts.
Commissions are not limited to type or fandom. It costs nothing to ask, and the worst I can say is "sorry, I can't write that".
If you'd like to discuss an idea that is NOT specifically fandom related, I'm open to that as well!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I’m not scary.
You can also check out my Tumblr Masterlist for examples of my work incase you’re unsure. And… just a reminder, Patrons get a discount!

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on

"Deprecated Fandoms" Spam Bot Alert!
If you get a comment that says AO3 is "deleting works to conserve server space", that is a Spam Bot. There is no such thing as "deprecated fandom content", nor is there any limit on the number of works that can be posted to a fandom tag (regardless of how "popular" it is). AO3 has not changed its content policies. We are committed to upholding our founding principle of maximum inclusiveness of fanwork content, and will only remove content that violates the AO3 Terms of Service. While non-fanworks are not allowed on AO3, we consider both original works and real-person fiction to be fanworks. Please don't listen to anyone telling you otherwise.
Unlike the previous round of art spam, so far these comments have all been from guests, so our advice for handling them is different! We're working on filtering these comments out, and flagging them as spam is how you can help. Read more below the cut!
To help train our automated spam-checker to block similar guest comments in the future:
If the comment is on your own work:
Note: The "Spam" button only appears when viewing a guest comment directly on your work. This is because the AO3 comment inbox is merely a copy of the work's comments – deleting a comment from your AO3 inbox does not delete the comment from the work itself.
Go directly to the comment on your work, either by clicking on the link in your email or in your AO3 inbox.
Click on the "Spam" button to mark the guest comment as spam and remove it from your work.
That's it! You don't have to do anything else.
If you see comments like these on someone else's work:
Feel free to let the creator know the comment is from a bot and that they should mark it as spam.
You can also report the comments as botspam via the Policy Questions & Abuse Reports form linked at the bottom of every page on AO3.
If you are reporting multiple guest comments, please submit only one report and include all comment links in your report description. (You can get the direct link to any comment by clicking the "Thread" button on the comment, and then copying the URL of that page.)
AO3's Policy & Abuse committee (PAC) does not pre-screen content on AO3; they only investigate if they receive a report. All reports are reviewed by PAC volunteers, who are real human beings. You don't need to worry that your or anyone else's fanworks will be taken down due to a baseless report or a mass-reporting campaign.
If PAC were to determine that you had violated the TOS, you would receive a notification of the violation via the email address associated with your AO3 account—not via comments, social media, or any other method.
