Chapter FIVE is LIVE!

Oh i'm ridiculous, I know, BUT OMG I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS MONTH'S RELEASE!!! What if Soleil is a bomb?? And will Jet ever kiss her?! -Nina squirms in the distance and calls Jet an idiot- You may never know.. unless you read Chapter Five!!! Please pLEaSe PLEASE enjoy, because i REALLY ENJOYED WRITING IT!!! -squee-

There's quite a few extras including illustrations and photos (which you can always see via linktr.ee) and the SONGS are super important this month! I mean, they always are, but you know.. :P

Songs used: there are FOUR SONGS that go with Chapter 5 and they are all so incredibly special to me (that they basically get their own book this month haha);

Nine Inch Nails, "The Fragile," was the first time i felt a song associated with Soleil though i'd already had her in my head for a while; all i knew was that she had white hair.

Nine Inch Nails, "We're in This Together," can apply to either Jet and Soleil or all of the entities, though i tend to see it as Jet and Sol, first and foremost.

Nine Inch Nails, "The Wretched," was the first song that i associated with Jet, before i could even see what he looked like. At first i just saw this shadowy entity. And that like from We're in This Together is absolute gold platinum; "the further i fall i'm beside you, as lost as i get i will find you." -chef's kiss- The entire song, the verses that proceed and follow that specific verse, absolutely amazing and so Jet and Sol, it's mind blowing: "the further I fall I'm beside you, as lost as I get I will find you"

i have seen Jet and Sol dancing to Imagine Dragons', Follow You, for years! One of the best parts about this was that we went to Emerald Plaza to get the feel and layout, and the first time we went, Follow You was playing and i was just.. stunned. Yeah yeah, i believe in signs, and i felt like at that moment the universe told me that that scene was perfect. :') FUN FACT; i chose this song to walk down the aisle to when A.C. Dnor and i got married (on Euterpe/Star of India).. well, the violin version: Valenti Violin version here!

FIRST AND FOREMOST: the purpose of "my house my rules" is to establish and maintain a safe space for yourself and your loved ones, it is to establish and maintain one's own boundaries, not to maintain and justify abuse. No one is ever allowed to abuse you or hurt you because you are in their house. You are allowed boundaries, even in someone else's house.

this was written as part of Tess's "chapbook" for an assignment in 2021 (with Lines, Issue #13), but it was about half as long and was written as a short story instead of a piece of a web novel. I partially rewrote it for this month's release.

Ami's self defense "burst" was a lot more dramatic in my head, and if i ever make this into a graphic novel, i will really make it shine.. haha

the idea for Tess actually started bc of my guidance counselor from El Cajon Valley High School

i went to 6 different high schools in 3 states, El Cajon Valley High was my favorite, which is why i used it and didn't make one up

the Fates appear to people in a way that won't startle them any more than absolutely necessary; for example, they appeared to Ami as little girls because that would be the least intimidating way for her to see them

Penny is a memorial "character" and i still have her ;P

Ami's love for hospital blankets was shaped after my love for them; they bring me great comfort.. i have 3

SO what I think I may have here is a BRILLIANT BEYOND BRILLIANT IDEA, yesyes? (Yes, i got that phrase from the Parent Trap with Lindsey Lohan).

I put the 1 page Zines on hold, began making newsletters and "books" (the books contain the 3 bits in between chapters and then the chapters). At this point I believe there is another material for 9 books but I have to actually arrange said books (which is much more complicated than it seems bc I have no idea what i'm doing); it goes 3 bits-chapter-3 bits-chapter, and so on and so forth. These books are printed and hand bound by me -sparkle- but I need to get a color printer!

Well, I think I was doing it wrong with the 1 page Zines; I was printing the first part of the story and I dunno if I was clear about that but it was meant to get people to my linktr.ee to read the rest and view all the art!

My NEW plan is to not only change the covers to what is more relevant to the associated story, but to also insert a tiny and interesting part of the story from any part of that particular piece. I would also be able to print them from home (or it would be easier to take them to a printer- ANY printer!- bc no more printing to the edge).

All I can say is that i'm happy I have finished April's release, May's release is nearly done and June's release is started, because i definitely have my work cut out for me with all the Zines and new layouts and such.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE PUT TWO OF THESE "BOOKS" IN THE SAN DIEGO CENTRAL AND EL CAJON LIBRARIES AND I PLAN ON LEAVING THEM AT MORE!!! You can read a physical copy for free there (8th floor)! I will be REVAMPING THEM and replacing the current ones ASAP but yeah, this is great!! I am absolutely ECSTATIC!

BTW did you know this is a "web novel?" I didn't. Now I know what to call it.

I marvel at how i tried and tried to map out every detail of this story.. but writing it is coming out different and better than i ever imagined it could. 🥰

I should probably address this; the reason i haven't been doing the one page Zines (the ones i fold into little bookie things) is bc the printer i was using repeatedly proved to be obnoxious. I'll only speak of the worst time;

I had those printed with my own money and folded them all myself. Is it tedious? A bit, though i found it meditative at times. When the owner asked me who folds these, i told him i do. He then said "oh man, you must have a lot of time on your hands."

Bruh. This is the story of our lives as millennials, gen-x, gen-z.. any generation after boomers; nothing is ever good enough.

When we want something they tell us to work hard and put in the time, "all it takes it hard work," even though that has proven to be less and less true over the last few decades (if it ever was), and when we do, we're insulted and told we have no life.

I haven't found another printer that is comfortable with doing that style of zine yet and i'm not sure if i want to continue looking; NO ONE wants to do it bc it requires printing to the edge and i guess that's annoying. -sigh- It's fine, i've found other methods.. kinda. =/ It just goes to show that we shouldn't listen to anyone else about our lives bc, overall, most people will find something to bitch about. You do you, boo.

Oy, i’ll be writing again soon.. got a cold or something and i feel like ass 😩 i’m not sure if people read the last issue, i know it was long but it’s so precious to me.

Hope people are doing ok amidst all the chaos, it’s wild out there and i know my energy is damn near depleted bc all the “it’s not about hate” people are putting a lot of hate out there and it’s exhausting. Only hoping that some of our plans (top secret 🤫) are going to accelerate.

Please stay hopeful, don’t give up, keep going.

If you are irritated that i am posting my "left-wing politics" on my book's blog i have this to say to you: (1) if my disdain and disgust with ACTUAL NAZIS is too "left wing" for you, you are part of the problem, you are absolutely out of your mind, gtfo -and- (2) my book(s) is/are political, very much so, and if you take issue with this (or speaking out against nazis), you are not the kind of reader i want. America killed nazis back when we had any sort of ethics and/or morals, and i will NEVER be ok with this trash happening in my country. THIS is not what America is about.
