Right now, famine is hitting us harder than ever, my heart cries whenever I go to the market to buy any basic necessities! The prices are crazy, and most days my children survive on just bread Hunger and thirst are destroying us, and cooking on fire increases our suffering unbearably! Severe eye and chest sensitivity, in addition to constant stomach pain due to the type of food and the way it is cooked.

All this while we flee from one place to another in fear of bombing, bullets, and imminent danger! I cannot describe what I feel, but it is a feeling beyond exhaustion!

I got this idea like 2 days ago and really quickly speed made a comic (I’m not bothered to colour it, who knows maybe one day I’ll come back to it and also fix up the line art

I gave Marinette some new clothes, whatd'yall think?

Its a silly lil sketch and some details I wanted are still missing, like the bows tying her braids and a alternate jacket/cardigan design for a different set of clothing/colder days.

I feel like Marinette wld be a little less...prodigy...when it comes to fashion in this au unlike the show (Designing for Jagged is one thing since I believe they are related, but making designs for famous people constantly?) I don't think she'll be THAT big in the 9 smth months that's been the entire show (apparently) and she'd be a lot more subtle about her love for fashion, she doesn't talk about her interests much when it's not her closer friends (Alya, Adrien, Nino, Tikki) and her dream is still pretty much a dream atp, so on top of protecting Paris she is still stressing about getting into the fashion industry. She's supposed to be 14 so I don't think she'll always be 'amazing' with the outfits she puts together or designed. And not to undermine her parents awesomeness, but in this au they have a more 'normal life' bakery, not really considered the best in Paris, her friends think it is but not the majority. She likely doesn't always have the most funds from her parents to afford cloth and allll the other sewing stuff that needs replenishing often. She probably throws together clothes she's already owned and clothes she makes herself, I also feel like her mom could have known how to sew, it was any hobby, just a skill that her mother used to fix old clothes and such that Marinette grew up around, which is her initial inspiration for fashion, i think it's be cute to have that small thing with her mom.

I can't think of something she'd have that her dad gave/showed her since my only reference to my dad inspiring me is my love for violent fantasy PS games and my old man anger issues...which I don't think Marinette wld be that into tbh. Lol

Her types of video games would be animal crossing, light your world, skull girls, sky children, Pony Town, etc, she likes calming pretty games and also action/fighting ones that's aren't extremely realistic, she also doesn't interact with any horror or high fantasy, soft fantasy maybe, she could have small interests in folklore characters like fae and such, but it's not something she spends a lot of time thinking about/interested in.

She DEFFINITLY has at least one fake vine decor in her room, and rather than creepily keeping tabs on Adrien she actually ASKS her friends/classmates about their schedules whenever they interact enough to warrant it, she has pictures of selfies w her friends on her roof/wall, her room is mainly pick and white but has a ton of colours splashed about either from little doodles/designs she hung up, clothes she made that are colourful or just things in general (she 100% has and old clear crate of art supplies she used to use a lot as a kid, cheap water colours, pipe cleaners, pompoms, fake feathers, scattered paper, beads etc that she used to use to make her designs as a kid.

Marinette and Nathaniel (and Marc) are the only 'creative' characters I know of in the show and Nathaniel doesn't seem like the type to go outside his artistic comfort zone (illustration) but I DEFFINITLY can see Marinette liking mixed media, scrapbooking, stuff like that but it's not as serious for her as fashion is.

If she were to have a crush on Adrien, I think it would be a more gradual thing, like she cld get a mini crush when she Mets him, (like some ppl when they meet someone they find attractive) but her crush kinda doesn't go away and she ignores it for a longggg while until she eventually panics and tells Alya and so on.

She does not stalk Adrien, she can be a flawed teenager but no stalking, stalking bad.

Idk why but I ended up coming to a realization just how similar the dynamics between Hunter and Belos from TOH are with Gabriel and Adrien from MLB

Like both teens have this air of non-human about them (well, non witch in Hunter's case)

Adrien has a very popular senti-monster theory, (Correction: theory is canon) Hunter is a canon Grimwalker.

Both Belos and Gabriel hold abusive, possessive and neglectful positions of power over the respective blonds.

Both kids gotta figure out how Teenaging works.

Both have incredibly stressful expectations.

The only difference is that Gabriel did his evil old guy shit to revive his wife, Belos was just racist (and fueled by 1600's-typical beliefs).

I now headcannon that Dana Terrace tried to make a better version of the Agreste's with better clothes lol. (Like am I the only one who thinks Belos slays that crusty old dusty ass cabbage look aka his Human design)

notes:: gotta be one of my best pieces and I made it in 2 hours! Which is pr standard for some artists but for me, my average time spent to make something decent is usually around 6-15 hrs lol (looks away).

i really leaned into stylization and specific colour grading to emphasize the vibe. Yellow also stands out around her and she also has yellow eyes which I thought made everything feel meaningful in a way idk.
