#palestine solidarity
They’ll never see this but every day I have endless love and admiration for the organizers of the Palestine solidarity movement in my state. I’m so honored to be part of this movement and sharing this space with y’all. You inspire me every day to do more, to be bolder and braver and louder. To be more myself. To be fiercer in my commitment and my morals and values. To lean into my identity and embrace who I am and where I came from. To test my limits and expand my horizons and to do things I never thought I’d be brave enough to do. you, my fellow organizers, have given me community and belonging and friendship. You have given me clarity of mind and soul. You have given me confidence and support and a place to be myself and grow into a new, fuller, more complete version of myself. you have given me the space and helped me grow into the person I always dreamed of being. every day you inspire me. Every day you give me love and support and friendship and a place to belong completely as I am.
my fellow organizers, you are an amazing group of people. but my god do you make me worry. you sacrifice time and money and sanity and so so so much sleep for the movement. It is a labor of love. Yet still I worry about you all. You beautiful people who stay up until all hours of the night planning actions, making calls, coordinating donations, and bail funds, and legal defenses, who run campaigns and risk arrest, who write speeches and mobilize people and phone bank, and bring people together. You who stay out all night marshaling, and get up at the crack of dawn to do the same, who drive miles and miles to pick up supplies and people, who offer rides and bring food, and give every minute of your free time and every cell in your body to this movement, and make sure everyone else is okay. You who put your bodies on the line, and brave the cold and the dark, and the consequences. My fellow organizers, my friends, my community, I worry about you. because you all show up for everyone else but never yourselves. I worry about you because I love and respect and admire you all. I worry about you because we organizers are a self-destructive self-sacrificial bunch. We push ourselves and push ourselves and then push ourselves some more. I worry about you because someone has to and because I love you all so dearly. You people who have given me so much.

Cut Through The Noise
Even as the strike ends, the Palestinian genocide has not.
Now more than ever, there are so many conflicting voices. People with their own self-serving, hateful motivations speak over us, and sometimes our own voices can turn against us. We may feel like our voice isn't enough or we aren't doing enough.
This is why it's so important to learn to shut down that noise. No matter how much people scream that what we're doing is useless or a waste of time, keep talking. Keep talking about Palestine. Keep talking about Palestine for as long as this goes on, both online and in real life. If Israel won't end their genocide, we won't end our protest.
Below is a list of what you can do and the poem transcript.
Check and spread this post which contains a comprehensive list on how to help Palestine.
Learn about the history of Palestine and how the displacement and eventual genocide of Palestinians started in 1948.
Learn more about Palestine, the myths surrounding it and the arguments debunking it.
Boycott companies who are either directly or indirectly supporting and finding Palestine's genocide.
Click a button to raise funds for UNRWA – an organisation aiding Palestinian refugees.
Attend a protest.
Help Gazans stay connected by purchasing eSims for them.
Donate to the following organizations – any amount, no matter how small, goes a long way:
UNWRA
Care for Gaza
Medical Aid for Palestinians
Palestine Children's Relief Fund
Islamic Relief
Here's another post detailing more charities you can donate to
And most importantly of all: Don't Stop Talking About Palestine! However you interpret it as – creating art, talking to the people in your life, emailing and calling your representatives, even reblogging and making posts – make your voice loud and clear!
— Poem Transcript —
There's a lot of noise right now
Screams dehumanizing poor souls
Groans from those in willful ignorance
People digging deeper and deeper holes
And it's overwhelming, it really is
I do not blame you
Sometimes you feel that your voice is too small
I feel that way too
But despite that, I urge you to keep going
And demand for what's right
Even it sounds like a whimper
You're still joining in the fight
And soon the rest of us will join
We can stand together here
We can cut through the white noise
And make our message clear

[image ID: a tweet from elliot HBH era ❤️‍🩹, @jagblundarr, which reads: "the eurovision admins are on a blocking rampage so that our comments do not overshadow their tweets come eurovision season next week. they cannot block everyone so PLEASE don't let this discourage you from exposing their hypocrisy under their tweets.
ban Israel from Eurovision."
the tweet is in response to Hanna 🇵🇸 , @BRlVlDI, who had tweeted: "end of an era. go fuck yourselves, @ eurovision." along with a screenshot of the eurovision song contest account which says "You are blocked from following @ Eurovision and viewing @ Eurovision's posts. Learn more"
end ID]
as the tweet pointed out, eurovision season is next week, so PLEASE, boycott! boycott the contest, the participating artists, and the broadcasters who are showing it!
until Armenia and Palestine are free & israel and azerbaijan are banned, there CANNOT be a good reason to engage with eurovision. tweet the social media teams, email the broadcasting corporations, make it KNOWN that you are not going to allow them to continue to platform both azerbaijan and israel. send complaints to ofcom, but give the actual contest & music NOTHING - don't hate watch/listen. don't stream the songs. don't even PIRATE it. give them NOTHING, but take EVERY OPPORTUNITY to address the fact that they're allowing genocidal fascists to participate.
BOYCOTT EUROVISION! and boycott the LOT of it!

reminder that now until next sunday is the global strike for palestine called by bisan! don’t purchase anything other than necessities (or anything at all if you can avoid it), donate to organizations like the palestinian children’s relief authority or e-sims for gaza with money you would have used for coffee or something similar, attend prostests (masked) if possible, and continue to amplify the voices of palestinians on social media!

Today marks the 17th of April, which is Palestinian prisoner day…
on such an occasion we wish for all of our innocent and beloved detainees and prisoners who have been put (without a charge, or because of wrongful and false accusations) inside the occupation’s prisons to very soon be released, to be able to experience life between us as it is and to gain back their freedom that they have been deprived from for months, if not even years or decades.
we wish that in a few years, when it is again the 17th of April, we’ll be looking back at this day and date in a Free Palestine while telling these stories of detainment and imprisonment as something of the past that will never bother us or come upon our lives to ruin them ever again.
on this day, we wish for the mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, daughters, sons, grandchildren and friends of those imprisoned to have endless amounts of patience, faith and hope until their loved ones are released.

For Historical Context : The Palestinian National Council chose April 17 as Palestinian Prisoner’s Day in 1974 because it was the date that Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi was released in the first prisoner exchange between Israel and Palestine in 1971.

Said this in the tags of a reblog but I want everyone to ask this too
Why is Israel killing children specifically? Out of all the videos, images, journals, its mostly children being killed. Children. Most no older than 8 or 9 years.
Children. Babies.
If infants and children matter SO much to the world, why aren't we enraged about this? Why do ppl rage about abortions or child abuse but they turn a blind eye on children being killed in genocides and wars?
It's just a strange pattern I've noticed. Yes, Israel is targeting every Palestinian ever in existence, hell probably targeting fictional Palestinians too, but there's been a weird obsession with Palestinian children as of late....
If you support Israel, unfollow me right fucking now. Better yet, speak up so I can block you personally. I don't give a fuck if you're a resident or not, I will never tolerate a government who seeks death on a whole fucking race just because they came from the same ancestors. Literal Cain and Abel type shit. If Israel's own CITIZENS refuse support on THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT, you should too. Jewish NEVER equates to Zionism. Judaism NEVER equates to genocide.
"Waaahh ur antisemitic becuz--!!!" Shut your white American ass up bitch. Jewish people ARE NOT their government. Jewish people ARE NOT inherently Zionists. In fact, Jewish don't inherently mean religiously, it could mean regionally. I do not hate the Jewish population, I hate the Zionist population. Zionists at this point are almost on par as nazism, just in a different flavor. I am against ethnic cleansing in the name of Zionism, not Jewish people.
Fuck Israel, free Palestine. Save the fucking children.

being anti-genocide is not allowed on meta

like i said before, i don't mess with shaun king like that, but that being said, many things about one thing can be true at the same time. it is very clear that there is a wave of censorship happening across social media against pro-palestinian content in favor of israeli propaganda. so whether or not you like shaun or not, it is very clear what is happening and why. there is clearly a genocide happening in gaza that is being perpetuated by colonizing power. a genocide against an indigenous population for land, resources, and power. basically the same thing america did to the natives here. had it not been for people like shaun king (flawed as he may be), many people would not be aware of the heinous acts of israel against the palestinian people right now. so even as someone who is not a shaun king fan, i am not so myopic in my view of things to not realize that he served a positive purpose when it comes to the israeli genocide of palestinians.
on a much larger scale, whenever a platform or a power attacks someone popular, one of the goals is to send a message to everyone else that they are not safe and that they should back off. it's like a football coach picking on and cursing out their hall of fame quarterback. when everyone else who isn't as popular or powerful sees that on the team, they immediately realize that they must fall in line or worse can happen to them. that's the goal of banning shaun king from ig. however as a black man who understands how connected all oppressive systems are, we cannot slow down. may i remind all my brothers and sisters that israel is where police forces like the nypd go and train in abusive violent tactics, which they then come back to america and overwhelmingly exercise on black and brown bodies. so if you think this does not affect you, you are sadly and deeply mistaken. additionally, this kind of censorship is going to spread. if we don't fight back, it won't be long before you will be arrested for speaking out against israel. this is what israel wants, and they have the money and political power to make it happen. you can either sit back and let it happen or you can fight back. however, make no mistake, it's coming, and this is the first major blow that the enemy has struck in their offensive against our free speech.
