I had a firefly on my arm while I was laying in bed. You don't see them as much because of light pollution and building. But its always nice to see a firefly just to remind myself that I'm alive

fireflies are disappearing. fireflies are going disappearing bc our obsession with “perfect” lawns bereft of native flowers & full of pesticides that kill even the bugs we deem likeable, bc of urbanizations that destroys their homes, because of the light pollution that disrupts their mating habits & their communication.

Well if I can't hear it then I will put on subtitles. But you have to understand, if I put my tv volume at 45 and I can't hear it---im putting subtitles on. My ears are good, i can hear a lot of things and pinpoint exactly where the sound is. But most shows are so unbalanced with their sound.

Why do people need subtitles to watch a show in English? I don't get it. What is wrong with the ears of young people?

So it's finals week at college, almost done then I get to do summer classes. One thing I am debating on is writing my short story and putting the scenes in there. I may add it on WattPad or something like that so it can gain attention. But it is rated r because of the plot, it's southern gothic. I was wondering if yall would care to read it?

My push through writers block consists of listening to different genres of music while doing little tasks. Like washing dishes and having music blaring in the background. It allows my mind to slow down and process everything. Like watching the sun rays come in and the dust dances in the still air. Or sometimes I just play games.

So i went to therapy for the first time today. First time in my lifeee. So I'm telling my therapist of what's going on, gave her background of my family and relationships. Cuz I'm a people pleaser at heart and it hurts. Well she asked me a question that I never really thought about it goes:

How have you managed all these years of not talking to someone about what you were experiencing? Most people wouldn't have stayed in the situation you're in.

And it took me awhile to understand, like oh shit this isn't normal. What I have thought as normal, isn't at all a regular life. And I replied back with, "I've never thought of it as managing. But saying it out loud is making me realize that I've been managing and I don't know how. I guess I try to not let things affect me?"

So yeah way to go me
