I just remembered my second Pride, where I made different flag themed daisy chain bracelets/necklaces to hand out. I need folks to understand something:

They were free.

They were fucking free.

They were maybe ¢60 of acrylic yarn each at the most, and the whole ziploc bag of them took 2 hours max.

Three people gave me sad eyes until I took their money.

Someone who was clearly the mom friend of their group made me take a $5 and gave a 10 minute pep talk.

At least four more people insisted on getting change to pay for the, once again, free bracelets.

In spite of all these shenanigans, the absolute best was this one person who I can only describe as, “queer surfer dude who looks like a boyfriend who looks like a girlfriend.” I can remember nothing of the outfit, only the impeccable vibes. I did the same thing I did with everyone else, explaining the bracelets were free, and they nodded along as they took the last 6 strand rainbow bracelet. As soon as they had it on their wrist, they pointed at something over my shoulder and, like a fool, I looked.

Next thing I know, they’re running off cackling, yelling, “YOU’LL NEVER CATCH ME!” and I’m holding a fucking $20. I had to stop at least two people from chasing them, cause they thought the person stole something, and then they tried to give me money cause they thought it was funny seeing me flail over people being Too Nice.

That was the year I got reverse-robbed at Pride. I hope everyone out there is having a good time and, in particular, that queer surfer dude is out there still causing benevolent chaos.

One thing I have going on as a writer is that I'll have queer Culture so entwined in a story that I'll forget to like, explicitly label my characters' identities. You know. Like well of course my protag's bisexual, look at him

Things you might have forgotten about in Keeper of the Lost Cities (mostly what I forgot until I reread the series lmao)

- Marella is described as really short

- Tam is the shortest guy in the group (according to official art not actually in words so this might not count)

- Dex is taller than keefe (also according to official art, again might not count, edit- I'm told that it was implied in the books that dex was taller than keefe)

- Sophie is a Percy Jackson, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Wolverine fan

- Dex was a mean little prankster, like bro was ruthless. He made Stina bald and then gave her a cure that made her grow facial hair.

- Keefe skipped a level, and was still second in rankings, (okay I didn't necessarily forget this, but I don't think about it as much as I ought to) in the fandom people (me) kind of dumb down Keefe a little bit. Sort of like how people make Percy seem like an idiot in the Percy Jackson fandom, when technically he's a battle tactic genius.

- Dex has canonically watched human movies

- Dex manifested younger than either of Fitz and Biana

- Fitz tried to call Sophie "soph" for a while

- Dex's full first name is Dexter (okay I also didn't really forget this, but it still kind of surprises me whenever I see it)

- We still don't actually know Forkle's true appearance. Bro has like three disguises, and we don't know if any of them are real.

- Sophie liked Alina when she was Dame Alina

- Kenric had his hair in a ponytail at some point (memories) Oralie teased him until he cut it

- Sophie listens to angsty bands. This is canon. (I choose to believe she's listening to hard rock and heavy metal. I know there are different types of angsty bands, but I swear she is listening to: La Dispute, Sleeping with the Sirens, Pierce the Veil, Fall out Boy, By the Wayside, etc.

- They found Silveny because they were trying to track Bigfoot (where did this plot point go?? Why didn't they go try to find Bigfoot again?? Is Bigfoot okay? Did he need help???)

- Sophie broke the Elvin vegetarian diet at the minute she stepped into the forbidden cities. Girlypop needed her chicken sandwich.

- Silveny showed Sophie a vision of she and Grayfell "playing"

- Fitz has grown a lot. He's definitely underappreciated and overhated. He's grown past a lot of his flaws. He's still working through quite a few, but he's getting there guys.

- Sophie called keefe a beautiful blonde boy, and thought he was cute when they first met, and still calls him cute in most of the books (I'm genuinely so sorry I'm such a fan girl)

- Keefe had Sophie against the wall and whispered "I like a challenge" in her ear like WHAT (I have been made aware that a lot of people did not forget this. I forgot about it until I read the books again 😔)

- Sophie had a nightmare about the Keebler elves.

- In neverseen, Sophie stayed by keefes side for 24 hours straight

- THE VACKERS LIVE IN FLORIDA.

I know that realistically you can only fit so many movies into a list of approximately 100, but I cannot take that "How many of tumblr's favorite movies have you seen?" list that's been going around seriously because there are some truly egregious omissions.

Some of it is very clearly recency bias, which makes me wonder if the op truly wasn't on here in 2013 or so, but you're telling me you made a list of "tumblr's favorite movies" that doesn't include Pacific Rim or Mad Max: Fury Road? Because, like, I was there, Gandalf.
