A line up of Yuus based on the female characters from the Disney movies the dorms are based on.

Megara!Yuu, Alice!Yuu and Ariel!Yuu have been seen in earlier posts, but their all together now, yay! These are more of rough draft of character designs, sort of speak. As I said in my Alice!Yuu 2.0 I might redesign them!

A sort of dump of art! The top two are like a mini series, a sort of protagonist with their antagonist hanging out deal. The Yuu with Riddle is based of Alice from Alice in Wonderland and the Yuu with Azul is based on Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Also fun fact with the Ariel!Yuu I wanted the mermaid form to be more based on what the eel twins forms look like, more monstrous than what Ariel looks like in the movie. I feel like it’s better design then just a fish tail like what Ariel has. The tail is based on a dolphin one.

The third is me trying out a different art style/render. It was me trying out a sort of realistic form of shading. This Alice is a sort of 2.0 redesign of the Alice in the first image, with more elements linking her to Riddle (like the checkered pattern around the rim of the dress matching his strap on his cape) and a distinctive silhouette when comparing them to other Yuus I did.

This is a different Yuu to my Giselle one, inspired by Megara from Hercules! I thought I would do a hypothetical ceremonial robes card, which was really fun! This would be when Grim is opening the coffin and setting fire to everything in the prologue.

I’ve been thinking of doing a series of Yuus based on the female characters from the films each dorm is inspired by, i.e. Megara!Yuu based on Megara from Hercules corresponding to what Ignihyde is twisted from. We’ll see.

This can be seen as a final page for the comic I did in a previous post, as like a cover page, y’know? Which takes place in the prologue when grim is waking up Yuu for their clothes.

So in terms of the oc she’s inspired by Giselle from Enchanted. I thought that would be kinda neat as the character falls into another world as well! Her dress under her ceremonial robes is also inspired by Giselle’s first dress at the beginning of Enchanted (the same as in the comic).

 I dont think she’ll be a constant Yuu on this blog as I like designing different Yuus with different inspirations (maybe a series of them). I think it’s fun as a character designer to see what translates from the inspiration and what new thing is added!
