Part 2 of 2 - First part in the previous post . Gary Williams: Yes, after I found God and understood he had put me through all those trials and tribulations to get me to become the man I am today. If I would not had faced that adversity, might not have been a father to my kids, a mentor to the youth, give my time back to my community, volunteer feeding the homeless etc. I feel my past prepared me for my future. I had to go through everything to be able to accept life and it’s blessings. I just know that if I stay positive, living and caring I ultimately will and can achieve the impossible. And yes my past obstacles are now a source of power and motivation. . Lifestyle Jobs Magazine: For any aspiring entrepreneurs out there. What would you tell them to let them know that it is OK to go for their dreams? . Gary Williams: I would tell them to get away from friends and family because as they are going for the dreams they ultimately will kill them. You have to be crazy to think you can change the world. To fail big, fail to succeed. Never give up or in. Kill everyone with success. Read at least 2 or 3 books a month. Do what others are not. Go to the seminars, lectures, but most of all invest in yourself and be selfish because it’s ok to find you so you will be able to help others in the long run. To set goals and crush them. . I speak at juvenile hall, schools and different events focused on the youth. I help people discover their purpose. . I started because I have two boys and after facing 25 years to life for a crime I didn’t commit I told myself I would educate and mold them so they never have to experience the things I did if I could stir them down the right path. . It was hard and sometimes it is still very difficult because of my former life. But everyday I get up and push harder, so my kids and I will have a fulfilling life. . Some of my proudest accomplishments are overcoming all of the obstacles that ultimately were put in front of me to fail. Graduating high school at 30, going back to college, and my two sons. Just overcoming every obstacle to get me to where I’m at today. And of course Speaking on stage with Les Brown. I just want to inspire others with my story. . I grew up in foster care and was in juvenile hall and placement facilities. Facing 25 years to life for a crime I didn’t commit. To come from poverty and to make it where I am now, a lot of people don’t succeed. Raised by a single mother, so I was told I could never amount to anything and I was a piece of shit, but look at me know. . My book recommendation would be think and grow rich by Napoleon hill. . My advice is to get away from friends and family because on there journey they will try to hold them back. To travel, take risk, but mostly to dream big, set goals, and crush them. Also there will be a lot of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, but through the pain and adversity is the greatest reward, success. To influence and empower as many people as possible on there journey. To never give up and to fail big.
