"Today, I received an official apology from my mother for being born
She said, 'I'm sorry for bringing you into this world'. There was no need for it. I wasn't drowning in desperation. On the contrary, I was just scrolling on my phone, setting with nothing on my mind, I wasn't playfully arguing with her about the philosophies of life.
She was preparing for sleep, and I was sitting without thinking about 'This World', which she was apologising about.
My Mom, whom I never imagined apologising for anything she forced upon me thinking she was protecting me, thinking her opinion was the right one because 'mothers are always right', and even though there were many other things she should've apologised for,
But she decided, on the 200th day of the war, to apologise to me for everything with one sentence, 'I'm sorry for bringing you into this world'
My answer came, 'Don't worry about it', laughing as if it was nothing more than a broken white china cup with blue painting on the rim"
feeling the need to post again about this. i'm standing with every single person who is protesting for palestine right now. especially all the people at these universities setting up encampments and having guns and police brigades pointed towards them. these are PEACEFUL protests and should not be threatened with tear gas, force, or even snipers pointed at them. palestine needs our voices more than ever. we're nearing 50K marytered palestinians when there shouldn't have even been 1.
if you personally cannot protest in public for whatever reason it may be, at least voice your support for protesters who are and also voice your support for palestinians. they need your voice. their voices are getting silences constantly online whether through suppression or the IOF marytering them along with everyone else.
i stand with every palestinian in the world. i stand with every protester in the world speaking for palestinians.
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE!!!!!
"I know that patience is bitter. Today, no one knows that more than me, but stand your ground, and you'll win. You'll not be the first to win through stamina, nor the first to resist and prevail. "
Tameem El Bargothy, Palestinian writer and poet

Among those arrested in Atlanta today were Noelle McAfee, Chair of the Philosophy Department at Emory University. You can hear her ask the PhD student taking the video:
“Can you call the Philosophy Department office and tell them I’ve been arrested?...I’m Noelle McAfee, I’m Chair of the Philosophy Department”
When the rest of the world looks at the united states right now, we see a government who sends billions to support genocide but cannot help their own people starving on the streets.
We see a police force who won't go in to save children from school shootings, but deploy at a rapid rate to arrest peaceful protestors using their right to free speech to protest a genocide
America, you are a war mongering snake eating your own tail. You will protect and support war criminals in another country but let your own people starve and die
To the students bravely protesting now, we see your strength. We see what we saw when students protested the Vietnam War. We have faith you will prevail
With all the respect I can muster for the pro-Palestine protesters in the US and the whole world, We welcome you to the pack of dictatorships controlled by inhumane systems controlled by zionists' money
It's insane how casually the calls to end a genocide, not just the students in Columbia University but pro Palestinian views in general, are labelled as terrorists. The audacity to still publicly support Israel's actions even after the horrific bombings these last months and then turn around to say that the ones who oppose it are violent anti semites is just baffling
