Sam Winchester and his hair.

Sam is very particular about his hair, he slowly stopped cutting it as time went by.

He lost more family and friends, either by the evils of the world or by his own mistakes.

As they say “hair holds memories” and maybe if he didn’t cut it they’d still be with him in some ways.

Maybe he’d never redo the terrible mistakes that lead to the passing of people like Kevin Tran. If he just remembered how it ended the last time.

And while Sam is someone who takes health and hygiene seriously, hair cuts is a luxury that he doesn’t feel worthy of.

It isn’t something he’s used to either.

Dean used to trim his own and Sam’s hair when they were little, they didn’t have the money for a hairdresser and John didn’t care enough to help, not that he was around enough to realize they needed one.

And when he went to college, he let Jess cut his hair. And even if it looked.. bad.. the first couple of times, she got the hang of it.

I think Jess took good care of her hair, she probably had a routine she followed, and even after all these years, he remembers. Maybe not the exact products or when to use certain things but he remembers enough that he eventually picks it up himself.

He buys (*cough* steals *cough cough*) products and brings them into the bunker.

Ignoring deans teasing about turning into a “girl” he reads and learns. Tweaks things from his memory to make it work with what he got but keeping the core of what he remembered to still do it like she did.

The rare moments when he actually has long enough free time for self care, he does his best to follow what it says to do, working hard to not accidentally think to hard about her.

And the result is glorious silky hair for the next couple of days or weeks depending on how much dirty he has to deal with during the coming hunts.

He has a certain fear as well. That if he cuts his hair short, he’ll look like his father. The cruel man with hollow eyes and pure vengeance in his heart, making no room for being a dad.

He always had short messy cut hair, messy and uncared for.

While Dean has always been the one to resemble John more, in looks and in demeanor, he cant shake it off.

Maybe the knowledge of that if John saw him with his long cared for hair, it would mess with the old man’s perspective of masculinity, it was a comfort and a small way to rebel.

Maybe he just likes it long.

Puppy!adam that represses his puppy self so hard around John (because he’s old and probably wouldn’t understand, maybe take it as a sign he doesn’t appreciate life or whatever) / represses his puppy self around your friends, but when it’s you two alone he’s so pathetic it’s almost sad.

He’s so needy but won’t let that show until you’re behind closed doors, then he lets it all out. And by that I mean he becomes a brat. But if you ever actually seem annoyed by him he shuts up and shuts down fast.

Puppy!adam that lets you do basically whatever you want to him because he trust you more than anyone. Actually, you’re the only one he trusts.

Depends on if a hunt is going wrong or if he has a lot bubbling up. But I’d say he’s not very easily angered.

Well, unless someone talks shit about his family, including you. Their face will never look the same.

Really tires to remember everything. Wants to remember every single thing so that he can bring it up in conversation. So you know he’s listening.

Anytime you had anything like a mundane or normal life. Just cooking together? Shopping for groceries? Doing chores together? All his personal heaven.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He understands that you can protect yourself, you’re a hunter after all, but of course he still covers you whenever he cans.

Oh yeah, and chuck forbid something happens too you, everyone’s dead.

Dates? Tries too make them special when he can, but the best you could get on the road is probably just a movie marathon or a diner date with breakfast (and hopefully no dean)

Well, if we over look the demon blood thing, he definitely bites his nails.

Anything but his hair, he really doesn’t care for, well, of course he works out, needs to be fit for demon hunting but other then that he really doesn't care.

He really doesn’t like people cutting his hair, no hair stylist, not dear old dad (fucking John), not Dean, I think the only person, alive, he’d let cut his hair is you.

Hair holds memory’s and after losing so many people it just feel’s terrible having it cut. Like he’s forgetting them.

But with you it’s different, you want to braid his hair? Sure. Want to style it? Hmm okey. You think it look good a little shorter? Only for you.

Definitely, sometimes he goes of on hunts alone and if he can’t at least hear your voice from a call or two, expect a very clingy Sam when he gets back.

But I think he’d see you at least a little more reliable then dean in the way that you’re not blinded by being blood.
