So, everyone has pointed out how funny it is that fifteen claimed to have gone through therapy and be fine now only to immediately act just like his old traumatised self and it is but like…
Has anyone considered fifteen was lying?
What if he hasn’t actually experienced that domestic bliss that fourteen got to enjoy or have fourteens memories following their split at all? What if he just told fourteen he did to convince him to stay on earth and be happy so fourteen could have a chance at happiness that fifteen believes he will never have and doesn’t deserve and his seemingly incredibly upbeat personality is just a facade?
I mean this sounds incredibly in character for the doctor to me tbh

silly Doctor Who headcanons !!
for every regeneration, The Doctor and The Master/Missy have a truce for a day, or however long it takes, to complete a game of chess. often these end up being a "best of..." situation that leads them both down an array of increasingly absurd challenges to name a victor. some notable ones include Eleven suggesting a space hopper race, Twelve and Missy competing in a battle of the bands, and even Thirteen dominating in her speed stacking skills against Dhawan!Master.
The Doctor has to keep track of what communication device is from what era that companion originally lived in and finds it funny the way humans have evolved the idea of telephones to mobiles to smartphones for the simple act of communication (they still think its funny calling their multi-dimensional time travelling space ship a telephone kiosk however)
when asked what their favourite colour was, The Doctor spoke gallifreyan to describe a colour only time lords could perceive, but the TARDIS not translating it telepathically meant the companion just had The Doctor speak what sounded like mathematical gibberish to them, smile, and then proceed to carry on like normal.
The Doctor is actually terrified of cars and thinks it is incredibly brave that humans launch giant metal objects with the power of combustion around for transport, despite themselves using a perpetually stabilised collapsing star to power their space and time breaking capsule. when questioned how safe the TARDIS engines actually were, all they could do was laugh nervously and mention how time lords were adventurous mechanics.
there are actually a number of stray cats and dogs that have wandered in, the TARDIS finding them all cute beyond measure and thinking it would help The Doctor feel less lonely. however, the dimension inside being almost infinite, they tend to get lost and are never seen again. but every so often, The Doctor just finds a random adorable animal looking up at them expecting pets.

In The End of Time, Wilf and the Doctor agreed that they'd be proud to be father and son, respectively. Rose is the Doctor's niece not through the metacrisis but because her great-grandfather is the Doctor's (chosen) father.

I imagine Donna to still eventually ask what the doctor has been up to. Maybe she does so while they're stuck doing a chore together like the laundry or dishes. And the doctor will try to avoid it like he always does, but caves under Donna's stare. He'd still keep it vague, speaking more about the companions the toymaker spoke of and cautiously daring to honour their memory like that while keeping himself away from the hurtful bits. He even jokes a bit about who he ended up becoming. He'd admit he had an obsession with bowties and had sonic sunglasses once, and Donna would laugh and say she'd LOVE to see that.
Then, after a pause, Donna asks if he's ever stumbled upon her with a different face, and with a hushed breath he admits he hasn't.
She grows a bit silent, grieving a thought she wished were reality. And then the doctor pipes up again.
"This isn't actually the first familiar face I've gotten...-WELL not another one of my OWN faces, but certainly something familiar."
Intrigued, Donna stops what she's doing and listens to him explain further.
"When I first got it I couldn't place where I'd gotten it from. I just, knew it was familiar...... -I didn't linger on it as long as I should've and I moved on rather quickly."
"Why?" Donna asked, a bit bewildered at the thought of it.
"I was careless and angry and sort of... Scottish.-ANYways one day me and Clara were dragged to this viking village that had gotten itself into trouble, and we helped them. But this village girl had, uhm... Well she didn't make it. I was so angry -I remember that anger really well. And Clara kept on asking if there was something I could do..."
"Well, was there?" By now both of them weren't doing their chores anymore and all they could hear was the singing of a couple of starlings outside.
"...Yes, but it would've broken some rules."
Donna already knew what exactly he meant by that. She would figure that's the end of it, yet the doctor kept on talking.
"But then as I was rotting in my defeat, I remembered this important day I shouldn't ever have forgotten. The day we were in Pompeii... And only then did I realise that face, MY face, was a reminder of something very important you told me. To just, save someone."
"...So you mean, your face..." The doctor nodded, and Donna couldn't help but finally release the breath she'd been holding with a smile.
"I did save her and she ended up living a long, long, longlonglonglonglong life... But even after hundreds of years, when I doubted myself and needed it most, Donna Noble... Your impact on the world and my life, persisted."
And I imagine the doctor to give her a big, proud smile, before Donna pulls him in for a big hug he wasn't expecting to receive. Because maybe, just maybe, that was exactly what she needed to hear that day.
Then once they return to their chores, I imagine Donna to think about it a bit longer and make a comment. "Well you better never take on my face!" And the doctor would dissolve into a pouty ramble about how he has no control over it while also being a bit disappointed she's said no.

picturing the master/missy doing domestic, every day things is so funny to me because like. how many times do you think simm!master stabbed himself in the eye before he finally perfected putting on pencil eyeliner? imagine him furiously bleaching his hair with some grocery store box dye in a truck stop restroom only to spill half of it on accident because he wasn't watching what he was doing. missy spending hours picking out her clothes and doing her hair and makeup just to kidnap/threaten people like the absolute menace of a girlboss she is. do you think dhawan!master ever had to complain to his tardis for getting the measurements of his suits wrong sometimes when he went through his never ending wardrobe, demanding it give him something actually worth wearing. stuff like that

Imagine the trouble Rose would get into with her History teacher after Fourteen helped her with an essay.
"...Miss Temple, I very much doubt Napoleon said that he "likes to raid cities because it's easier than grocery shopping"!"
"But he did! My uncle said so!"
"Oh, and your uncle's met Napoleon has he?"
"Uh......"
(After getting pulled into a meeting with the teacher, Donna grounds Rose for one week and the Doctor for two)

Sick headcanons
tenth doctor (but could probably be read as any) x reader
Once the Doctor finds out you are feeling under the weather he springs into action
He’s very quick to get you back into bed to rest up
Will bring you your favorite food and drinks to make sure you are nourished and hydrated
Checks in on you constantly
Pokes his head through the doorway with his big, sad, brown puppy eyes
“Are you feeling ok? Do you need anything? What can I do?”
Makes sure you’re taking meds on time if you need them
An absolute nervous wreck the entire time, constantly worried about you and if you’re going to get better
Tries (and totally fails) to not hover
Cuddles cuddles cuddles
Holds you against his chest while you nap (or read, watch TV, etc)
Strokes your face/hair lovingly
The minute you start feeling better he is over the moon
Honestly, he’s just glad you didn’t die
(you literally just had a cold…)

I like to think that Earth was The Doctor’s special interest planet as a kid. On the same level as kids being obsessed with the Titanic/ancient Egypt/ Greek mythology. Little guy just thought it was really fascinating.
They would’ve been so excited to see that their granddaughter was taking a liking to it too!
It also makes it way more fun to think about how they definitely knew the exact date of the end of the planet, not through their travels after leaving Gallifrey or the TARDIS helping them out with their date(?) idea, but because it was in some “entire history of the planet Earth” book they read cover to cover 30+ times when they were young.

Headcanon that River remembers Donna kindly and with appreciation (as shown in Silence in the Library) because the version of his husband she got to spend 24 years with, the one that proved to her he loved her, the face that got to see her without her shields on, the one that finally knew as much as her (or as close as they could get) was born out of the memory of Donna and everything she taught him. And the Doctor never forgets, and she tells her, they have 24 years, they get to know each other better, and the Doctor can't not talk about his best friend, the one that doesn't remember him, the most important woman in the universe

How the Doctor satisfies alien tastebuds on Earth, headcanons:)
——-
*Yaz in tears after kissing the Doctor, both having forgotten that the Doctor had just snacked on a handful of red pepper flakes*
———
*The Khans watching her eat a whole lemon, peel and all, because she was ‘craving something sweet’*: O_O 0_0 o_o 0_0
———
*Out at a Japanese restaurant* “And can we get a very large bowl of sliced ginger on the side please? Oh and like a cup of wasabi.”
“Um.. Sure.”
———
Yaz: “This.. this mouthwash was full yesterday..”
———
*Khans order some pizza* *Doctor rummaging through their cabinets looking for something to add on top* “You guys wouldn’t miss these candy canes from December, right?”
———
Hakim: *Cooking* “Where did the paprika go? It was just here?”
Doctor: *Stirring her tea* “…You’re all out…”
———
Najia: “How? Just… How?”
Doctor: “Oh.. I, uh, lost quite a few of my tastebuds in a.. Football incident!”
Najia and also the Doctor: 🤔🤔
———
*After convincing the Fam to go trick or treating with her* *Negotiates hard, almost threateningly, for all of their sours*

I have a headcannon that Theta, although flunking most of his classes, had select few classes that he DID actually pay attention/do well in. Adding onto that, the teachers of those classes had a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT view of him than literally the entire rest of the staff.
Like, one teacher would say something like, “Theta skipped my class again! I don’t know what to do with him sometimes.”
Then another teacher would say, confused, “Theta? Theta Sigma? He’s been a great student this year! Always paying attention, asking insightful questions, not to mention all his extra credit work-”
The rest of the people in the staff room would then look at that teacher with utter shock, making them realize they were, in fact, an outlier. The rest of the teachers ask them how they managed to keep Theta’s attention, for which they don’t have a clear answer.

Personal DW headcannons
almost every book in the TARDIS library is signed
Series 1 Eps. 9&10 "The Empty Child" + "The Doctor Dances" and Series 5 Ep. 3 "Victory of the Daleks" take place on the same night
The "DO-WEE-WOOOOO" part of the theme is actually a Gallifreyan distress signal (based on a line where 12 says that distress signals is his "theme music)
The Tenth Doctor was going to prepose to Rose before "Doomsday"
The Doctor never learned what happened to Susan after the Time War and assumes she died; hates themself for it
The Third Doctor's "tattoo" was given to him as part of his exile. its also not a tattoo :)
River stole the sphinx's nose

Hiii, I was wondering if you could do headcannons for the doctors and having an affectionate/cuddly s/o? My fav doctors are 9 & 10 but any doctors are fine <3
your favs are 9&10 and mine are 11&13... so why just dont go with all of them? here you go, anon!
9th: At first, he gives you some weird looks. You grab his hands while walking, and he shoots you a side-eye, but he lets you. Whenever you need him, he's there. When you let him go, he steps back. He doesn't like it when you tap his head or cup his cheeks; he'll pout until you're laughing and wrapping your arms around his neck. Eventually, he gets used to holding you with an arm around your shoulders, letting you rest your head on his chest. Strangers often mistake you for a long-term couple, but in reality, you're just clingy, and he... well, he just can't say no to you.
10th: He's not really expecting it when you run into his arms just because you're excited about the planet you're both visiting, but he immediately accepts and hugs you tight. Later, he realizes he really enjoys physical contact when your hand is always on his arm while you talk. You hug him from behind when he's turned to the console, and he doesn't let you see his smile, but his hands are over yours anyway. You're affectionate, but he's needy. He likes holding hands, and eventually, he starts initiating contact too. It's nice, and you blush when people say you two would make a beautiful couple, especially when he agrees.
11th: He's the one who starts it. He has a hand on your back while you two explore an alien museum, and you take the chance to melt onto his body. He looks at you but says nothing, and now this is simply your thing. You like to be in his arms and to kiss his cheek, and he reciprocates by letting his chin rest on your shoulder/head (depending on how tall you are) and kissing your forehead before you go home. He's soft and goofy, and sometimes he doesn't let you get out of his embrace.
12th: He's not a hugger, and you respect it, but there are plenty of other ways to show your affection. You run your fingers on the back of his neck when sitting next to each other and always play with the collar of his shirt. He tries to pull your hands away, but you come back every time until he gives up and kisses your wrist, letting you do whatever you want. Sometimes he doesn't respond to your touch, but the look in his eyes already says everything you need to know.
13th: She loves everything you do and doesn't seem to notice when you tangle your fingers together. She holds your hand in hers as if it were usual, and that's pretty much it. She's obsessed with hugs, and it's kind of hard to find a moment where she isn't all over you. You couldn't imagine a happier life.
