January Favourites!

So, it's that time of the month again... January Favourites!

This month I feel as though I have significantly less favourites than usual, but to be honest, I've not really needed many with this fabulous bundle of goodies!

Skin care wise, I've not had many new favourites, in fact, only adding one piece to my skin care, I'm pretty happy with my usual skin care routine, but this product is absolutely wonderful! It's the Bioderma Purifying Correcting Care cream. Everyone's heard about the Bioderma Cleansing Water, but this is a whole new kettle of fish! I apply this just before my moisturiser, I feel like it brings down any redness and helps with any small blemishes that may be about to show themselves. It's definitely a great product for people who either have blemish prone skin or who get redness!

Now, I'm not huge on face primers, as my make up seems to stay in place pretty well, I have dabbled in primers, but never really been madly impressed with any, until I got to try the Too Faced Primed and Poreless- this is literally a godsend! I use this on days when I'm going to be on the go for a long time, or if I'm going on a night out, it smooths beautifully over the skin and I think the packaging is super cute!

Foundation wise, I suppose you could call me a bit of a snob when it comes to drugstore foundations! I've never really been bowled over by any drugstore foundations, I just seem to be able to fall in love with my Chanel, Clinique, Liz Earle, and Laura Mercier foundations/tinted moisturisers... This month however, I've been pretty late on the bandwagon, as this product has been sat in my foundations drawer for a while now, but I decided to pick it up and work with it this month and I'm glad I did, I feel with this that the less you use, the better, (I'm personally a fan of sheer coverage- but this is definitely build able) I just feel as though it gives me a really nice glow and it photographs well.

You all know that myself and every other blogger and YouTuber on the planet it seems, love the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and don't get me wrong, I'll still always pick it up when I run out, it's my heavy duty concealer, but I do agree with some of the bloggers in saying it can be a little cakey, if all you're using it for is a little redness or under the eye, so! Meet the Miners Cosmetics Fresh Faced concealer, this is a beautiful sheer consistency, though it does cover blemishes, I particularly love this concealer for redness and under the eye as it's a much lighter consistency and a little less cakey. The best thing? It's only £2.99, so it's cheaper than the Collection favourite!

I'm again late on the bandwagon for this next product, I've been eyeing it up for ages, but when you have a lot of make up, you don't want to buy anything that's going to be anything like you have in your beauty drawers already, I have a selection of different contour, bronzer and highlighters in fact, my drawer is spilling with them, but I was in boots with my lovely best friend, and I decided to bite the bullet in picking up the Sleek Face Form Kit, in Medium and I haven't looked back since, the product is so pigmented, and the highlighter shade I've literally fallen in love with! For £9.99 I'd recommend this product to literally everyone, brilliant if you want a subtle contour and highlight in the day, but you can really go to town at chiselling those cheekbones on a night out, it's amazing, and it comes with a big mirror too, perfect for travelling! Love this, as does my best friend!

I've not got any eyeshadow favourites this month, in fact, I actually only have one eye make up favourite, and it's the Too Faced Shadow Insurance- Glitter Glue. This is hands down the best primer I've used, I've tried Urban Decay, MAC Paint Pots, MUA Primers and nothing compares to this, it is literally like glue for eyeshadows, if you struggle with oily eyelids, or like me are a sucker for a bold eye look, you need this product in your life!

My final make up favourite comes in the form of the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector! I don't know how many times i've mentioned this, so I won't talk about this too much, but my lips have been especially dry this month- so wearing my usual favourite of a bold, matte red lip, hasn't really been possible! I love the sheer pink colour, and I feel like it plumps up your lips, even though I've got big enough lips as it is, it definitely gives them the kissable factor, I think!  If you're more of a peachy girl, they do a peach one too!

(They're nearly four pounds cheaper if you buy them from this website! Top tip! :)) 

On to Nail Favourites! I've got two this month, I have a bright and a pastel! Something for everyone!

First up my best friend and I are absolutely loving China Glaze's Pool Party, I think I got sent this in 2010...or maybe even the year before I put it on once, realised it was a matte shade, and then never really bothered with it, up until December/January time, I was fed up of all the dark, dingy shades I kept going for *black nail polish lover present!*  but this Neon Pink is something else! I have to admit, I always put a glossy topcoat on it, I've just never been a matte nail lover, I also feel like matte nail polish chips so much quicker, and I'm lazy, the less times I have to paint my nails, the better! It looks amazing, and beautifully finishes off a simple outfit!

My other nail favourite is a Models Own polish in Apple Pie, I was never really in on the 'Mint Green' craze, I am not a huge fan of the colour green, but I was stuck in a nail rut, and decided to try this out of my nail collection and I absolutely fell in love, it looks so pretty on the nails, especially because I've not got much of a tan at the moment, but I feel like this shade would look beautiful on everyone, and when it dries it smells of apples, yum!

Fragrance Favourites! 

I've been loving the fruitier and heavier scents over the past month, namely, Thierry Mugler Alien, which I've talked about before, it's beautiful packaging and heavy lingering scent makes me feel so confident whilst wearing it, and making me want to sit and sniff my sleeve! Then a new perfume in my life, The Make Up Store Twenty Forever... this is a very girly, sweet and fruity smelling perfume, I love the packaging and it looks beautiful on my perfume counter!

Valentine's Day Make Up Look Number One

You'll have to excuse my face in this one ladies, I'm currently really unwell, but wanted to get some Valentine's Day looks up on my blog for you!

This is my first one, a bold lip, with a simple defined lash line, I feel like this would be great for someone who just wants a pop of colour and a more polished version of themselves! Nothing too fancy.

I'm sure you all know how to apply foundation, concealer, etc, but I'll talk you through the eye make up! I applied MAC's Jest Eyeshadow, (I didn't use a primer, purely because I wasn't going out, but this eyeshadow does crease, so you may want to pop on some Urban Decay Primer Potion, or Too Faced Shadow Insurance- or the like!) I then used the contour shade from the Sleek Contour Kit through the crease subtly, finishing with the black from my HD Brow Kit in Foxy along the lash line to define my lashes more. 

I used Revlon's Lip Butter in Lollipop, although this is a glossier alternative of MAC's Girl About Town which is the lipstick I wanted to use for this look- but unfortunately couldn't find it!

Good Afternoon Dolls! As you can see I now have a fringe! I got a bit bored of the old hair, and fancied a change, but I'll do a blog post on my hair at a later date- today I've got a tag blog post for you!

I've Got a Fringe!

Hi Dolls!

I took the plunge today and got my hair dresser to cut in a block fringe whilst cutting my hair. 

I've had the same hairstyle for like 5 years, and I was getting pretty darn bored of it, but I am trying to grow out the length so didn't want to do too much to the lengths, literally just got two inches taken off, and then Andy said let's take the plunge, and I did!

What to expect from Glitter Pots this year?

Depending on how long you've been following my blog, you'll know this is my third year in writing- so I thought I should let you know what's in store for Glitterpotsandlipgloss!

I am going to be doing a lot of travelling this year, much like I did last year! So I'll have the opportunity to blog about travel make up, and hopefully picking up some products I wouldn't usually find in the UK, and it's on my 'hit list' to hunt down a Sephora this year!

I'll still be doing tonnes of review on products, getting up my favourites, and letting you guys know what products I've been let down by, but I'm also on a mission to find my top 5 drugstore make up products, that I cannot live without, so if you have any recommendations, please tweet me them! @beautydollbuzz!

BOLD LIPS

It will be no secret to you girls that I love a bold lip, in fact- I am rarely seen sporting anything other than a striking lip colour...

I thought I'd post a few photos of my three favourite lipsticks, and how I wear them.

Top photo- Neon Orange- MAC

I feel like wearing this lip colour with a smokey eye such as I did with the red lip below, just works perfectly, and also doesn't wash out my face as much! Pair with a simple tee and messy hair, what's not to love?

Middle photo- Russian Red- MAC

It's probably my favourite lip colour in general- I love a red lip, I'd say I wear a red lip once or twice a week, at least! I just think it makes you look put together, and seems to suit my blue eyes, red hair ratio.

Bottom photo- Rebel- MAC

Rebel is certainly not going to be everyone's cup of tea, and I can understand why, but I think it's a great alternative to the usual bolds, a red, orange or wine colour, this is a brilliant plum purple and looks especially great with a gold smokey eye.

Glitter Pots and Lifestyle?

As you lovelies will all be aware if you read my blog in 2013, I did a lot of travelling last year, and this year I plan to step it up a notch.

You'll know I'm a blogger and YouTuber based in the UK- so I'm going to try and do some travelling around the UK for you, as well as abroad this year. I'm hoping to work with Center Parcs, to bring you a post all about their new site opening up in the Spring. I'm also planning to find some new places to shop, find cute restaurants, spas and in general the prettier places I've not seen yet!

I'll be doing more homeware blogging on here too, which means if, like me you're interested in the pretty decor things in a home, you'll love some of the posts lined up!

After spending around a week feeling sorry for myself- feeling crap and generally not loving life, I have given myself a slap on the wrists (so to speak) and am getting myself back together... Today, I'm going to lunch with my lovely friend Louis, so I thought I'd post a picture of the look I've done because I feel like it has brightened up my face quite a lot, compared to this morning any way!

I used Chanel Perfection Lumiere, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Mac Wedge & Omega on the brows- with a little Wedge through the crease, I then used Eye of Horus Liquid Liner, I used Rimmel Stay Matte Powder on my T-zone, Vivo's Blush in Cinnamon and MAC's cream sheen highlighter in  pearl. For the lips I used one of my favourite lipsticks, MAC's Russian Red- I used Collection's Red lip pencil as a base. 

A red lip is the perfect way to make me feel better-
